“In order to set the stage for my remarks,” General James Jones (Ret.), President Obama’s National Security Advisor, said, “let me tell you a borderline anti-Semitic joke.”
Perhaps we paraphrase. But barely.
Jones was giving the key note speech at a Washington Institute For Near East Policy when he told this joke, the point of which seems to be that Jews are cruel, greedy merchants.
Just imagine the howls of mock liberal indignation that would result if Rush Limbaugh or any other conservative had told this joke.
