Minnesota Democrats changed name of fish to avoid offending Asians. They were called “Asian carp” because they came from, uh, you know, Asia. Now their official name is “invasive carp.” With this logic, they better find new names for the Siberian husky, West Indian shrew, bald eagle, pygmy toad…

These assholes are the same clowns that debated for months on end about whether or not to make texting and driving in Minn illegal. After milking the phone companies for all the brib….er donations they could get, they passed the law. The penalty is a fine. Fifty bucks. Wow, what a deterrent. No wonder the cell phone bills are so damn high. Lotta politicians to buy off.

The TPWD dumped a bunch of these fish into Lake Conroe back in the 80’s to control the hydrilla that was choking out the lake. Once the hydrilla was gone, the fish kept eating. War was declared on the fish to control them. People were catching and killing them. Guess who was catching and eating them? The Asians! I don’t recall hearing of any Asians complaining about the name of the fish. They seemed content with the overabundance of FREE, fresh protein to feed their families.

Yeah, carp can be pretty good eating but there’s a lot of bones, right? I see it on menus in Asian restaurants but never order it because I’m scared to death they’re getting it from a Chinese fish farm.

Which reminds me of the first time I saw Asian carp, while visiting a friend down in Illinois. We were walking through a park with a pedestrian bridge over a small river and saw a couple of them jumping. That’s the unique thing about Asian carp: they jump right out of the water when they hear any kind of disturbance. Even footsteps on a metal pedestrian bridge can make them jump out of the water. Well, there were two of them jumping out of the water that day, one on each side of the bridge, and as they jumped they would bump something over the bridge, back and forth, like dolphins bouncing a beach ball in the air. We asked a fisherman what they were doing.

“I dropped my damn wallet in the water,” he replied, “and now they’re tossing it back and forth.”

Amazing to watch. First and only time in my life I’ve seen carp-to-carp walleting.

Do they still have a problem with the Vietnamese sitting on the curbs eating grasshoppers? I remember the people on the wealthy side of town complaining about that in the 80’s.

Global warming killed all the grasshoppers/

Went to a family disturbance call years ago, at a rental house with Vietnamese tenants. They were fighting over who got the most fish, a literal fistfight on the front lawn. They had taken the screen door off the house, put it on two sawhorses, and were “drying” the fish in the kitchen in from of the oven which was on full blast. (mind you a summers day with a temp around 100) There were roaches and bugs crawling over everything including the fish, I could not stand still for fear those little buggers were crawling up my boots into my pants… And the fish? Carp of course…Smelled kinda like death in the place too. And there was a lot of alcohol involved. They weren’t very good fighters ether…too much alcohol…….

One year in Stockton as a cop is equal to about 20 years in a small town…..Like 4 years of college in one month…

Hold on now …

So everyone knows they’re Asian carp, and they change the name to “invasive”? So using the associative law (or is that commutative?), If Asian carp = invasive carp, then Asian = invasive.

Sounds like they made it worse.

I wonder if there was any Asian, anywhere in the world, who was offended by that fish name.

I haven’t seen anyone tearing up Choi Ponds or burning statues of fish, knocking down statutes of fishermen or protesting anywhere in Minnesota. No mass marches and billboard campaigns from PETA. I am thinking this was some Democratic-NPL party member doing this to pander to the Asian vote.

Only about 4.5% of the population is Asian so who would be pandering to them? Besides, most Asian people are too busy getting an education and earning a living to care what some dipwad politician thinks.

Blacks aren’t that much larger a percentage of the population, but they pander to them, well, at least the radical, leftist blacks. They still have no problem insulting and demeaning the Conservative Blacks.

They’re not pandering to Asian. Asians don’t care. They’re trying to look progressive to progressives, AKA stupid people. Their core constituency.

I caught that as well. It’s not as though these morons give anything a second thought. “We must not stigmatize these fish”!

I’ve facepalmed so many times in the past 7, 8 years, I’m surprised there isn’t a permanent hand print on my forehead.

Oh now you’ve done it — now we have to rename palm trees to avoid offending you.

Dammit all. It’s just so hard to keep up with political correctness. We have a red oak in our back yard, should I start referring to it as an oak of unconfirmed origin to avoid offending communists or Native Americans?

Talking about my green grass is still okay though, right? I mean, green equals good. If it turns brown and I say our grass looks like crap because it’s brown, is that racist?

Damn, I just realized we have Japane** lilies in our front yard(Edited to not offend Japs, oops, people of eastern Asia descent). We have Kentucky blue grass so I guess I should be a racist redneck.

We have blue spruces in our back yard as well so I’m obviously stigmatizing people that suffer with depression.

Party of tolerance, I’m trying to behave but all of these adjectives that in reality are nothing but words that affect no one unless your skin is thinner than Scot Tissue are throwing me for a loop.

This country is f***ed. Screwed, blued and tattooed.

You need to knock down the trees and clear cut the greenery. Put in rocks. Xeriscaping doesn’t offend any ethnic, racial or socioeconomic class. Plus it’s considered green which the left loves. Of course we all know the left is dumber than a box of roc… wait… gonna have to scratch that idea as well. Yeah, you’re screwed dude!

However, what if I lay down sedimentary rocks and that offends igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary rocks? I don’t want to be a rock racist either.

You should be okay as long as you avoid limestone. The Brits are touchy about that one.

And hopefully your lawn doesn’t have crabgrass, because those of us with grouchy dispositions have a right to not be offended too.

Thinking about it, Minnesota has NO redeeming qualities, other than the Invasive Somali’s they packed their state with, How about we give Minnesota to Canada? They do not fit in with the rest of the central part of the country anyway. They are liberal, slower than roof tar on a winters day, and they talk funny, I say those things alone make them Canadian.

Plus Canada gets four more professional sports teams, The Viqueens, the Twits, the Norsk bars and the Tremble-wolves.

Canada gets a whole bunch of mosquito farms, bad drivers, and rusty cars, What more could they want? And I think to be fair, we get $100 bucks and some beer.

Major parts of Wisconsin aren’t too much better.
I have a cousin that I used to think was smart, but it turns out that now, he lives in Wisconsin, works for Public Television, and has apparently turned into a raving leftist! We don’t talk any more.

I lived in Wisconsin years and years ago for about six months, it was okay, but then I think working for Public Television has more to do with your cousin being a lefttard thank living there. Public TV is like Crack for Eggheads.
