More eliminationist rhetoric from an allegedly respectable newspaper columnist. “Then I would tie Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, our esteemed Republican leaders, to the back of a Chevy pickup truck and drag them around a parking lot until they saw the light on gun control.” As Tolstoy said, “Everyone wants to change the world, but nobody wants to change himself.”

True. WHen I glanced at the headline in the index I thought it said “newspaper communist” and thought it would be a redundancy. At close look, it does say “newspaper columnist” but usually there is no difference.

You know, from what I can tell, the MSM is 1 of the biggest threats to America & our way of life. Also, I really would care if people started treating them as such.

100% agree. The MSM has violated its own code of being the Fourth Estate and the watchdog of government.

Donald Kaul? Never heard of him, he sounds like a real a**hole. I don’t like how he writes and what he advocates, so let’s repeal the First Amendment and take the laptop from his cold, dead hands.

Interesting. A black man in Jasper, TX died due to something similar happening to him. So what this person is saying is that he is racist. Yes I can play that game too.

How come evil actions are okay whenever a Democrat does it supposedly in response to trying to avoid evil? It doesn’t make sense. One can say then that trucks should be banned if people are going to use them for those evil purposes no?

Well, he’s not exactly a “respectable newspaper columnist” at all, he’s more like a has-been local personality for the Rube Appleknocker Weekly Gazette.

I’m sure they’ll find an attorney to say that they didn’t actually DO anything.

Let’s see didn’t some white folks from Texas drag some black man to his death a few years ago? So this poster is stating that this kind of killing would okay with the left to accomplish their agenda? I would suggest that prick visit me. It’s real easy to be a big tough guy on the internet, but I wonder how he would react to me and one of my legally owned assault weapons face to face. I am thinking their would be a large yellow stain on the ground, and perhaps mixed with brown.

The lefty loonies keep implying that they want violence to accomplish their goals. Looks like civility and intelligence went right down the toilet. And where is the “Secret Service” in all of this? This prick is suggesting the killing of a Senator and Representative and killing of Americans because they own guns….Sounds like another liberal nut case/serial killer wanna be to me. Perhaps a nice long prison term would help him understand the stupidity of his ways. Words have meaning, in this case this loudmouth piece of shit decides to be a big man on the internet, but in real life is probably on his free Obamaphone calling da babbies momma, and looking for more free shit.

Not so fast there. This is journ0list exercise of freedom of the press, you see. In the context of progressive liberalism it is not a real threat to suggest murdering and maiming the opposition or anyone else for that matter. It is only offensive and threatening if it is suggested by someone other than one of the approved whistles.

Just another example of the kind, compassionate, inclusive nature of the Left.

If it weren’t for double standards, liberals would have no standards at all.

That’s what I emailed to him.

I’m not going to waste time analyzing that steaming pile of straw men and revenge fantasy but I will post Evan Sayet’s Unified Field Theory of Modern
Liberalism. See if this column does not fit either the role of the True Believer or the Mindless Foot Soldier:

The Laws of Modern Liberalism

1. Indistriminateness – the total rejection of the intellectual process – is a moral imperative.

2. Indiscriminateness of thought does not lead to indiscriminateness of policies. It leads to siding only and always with the lesser over the better, the wrong over the right, and the evil over the good.

3. Modern Liberal policies occur in tandem. Each effort on behalf of the lesser is met with an equal an opposite campaign against the better.

4. The Modern Liberal will ascribe to the better the negative qualities associated with the lesser while concurrently ascribing to the lesser the positive qualities found in the better.

The Corollaries

1. The Modern Liberal may have personal standards but he must deny them and militate against their use and those who use them in the public arena.

2. Modern Liberals do not and cannot seek to better themselves or society. Instead they must lower others and and society to their level.

3. Modern Liberals have secondary policies that are meant only to somewhat mitigate the greater suffering that their primary policies create or exacerbated.

In my opinion, this is sheer genius that modern American liberalism can be so succinctly and perfectly described.

“Objectivity is impossible, and it is also undesirable. That is, if it were possible it would be undesirable.”
Howard Zinn

The guy who wrote the American history textbooks that millions of our children are forced to use.

If that column by Douglas Kaul is typical of his thinking then Kaul truly is a miserable SOB. Suggesting that someone be dragged behind a pickup truck is pure hate.

And Kaul uses that typical tired old liberal refrain: “… surely the Founders couldn’t have envisioned weapons like those used in the Newtown shooting when they guaranteed gun rights.”

Surely the Founders couldn’t have envisioned high speed printers like those used by the Des Moines Register when they guaranteed press rights.

BTW, Randy Evans is the opinion editor of the Des Moines Reigster and his email address is: revans@dmreg.com. I emailed my above comments to him.

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Our Founding Fathers were very wise Freedom loving men. We are now evolving into the type of government they all feared. Our liberal media is leading the way to tyranny.

“A good deal of tyranny goes by the name of protection.”
– Crystal Eastman (1881-1928).
