Newsweek Writer: “We have this ‘liberty’ business completely backward in this country, and if Bloomberg can start rebalancing individual freedom and the public good, God bless him, I say.” Hey, what if we banned Newsweak (sic) – how many left-wing propaganda rags does the “public good” require anyway? Goin’ out of business for a reason.

Well it would appear obvious that Mr. Tomasky has a future with homeland security. If you cannot write with intelligence than write inflammatory. If this so called editor actually believes in a draconian approach to freedom perhaps he should move over to the middle East and he can live the life he wishes for us here in America. Allot of incredibly brave men died to provide our freedoms from the British Empire, sadly a few spoiled, privileged, narcissistic self proclaimed elite believe they know a better way for the rest of us to live

“…Mr. Tomasky has a future with homeland security.”

Or with MSNBC!

“Under such conditions, the state has every right to take action on behalf of the common good.”

That’s the excuse every tyrant in history’s ever used.

Oddly enough, a little sci-fi story I’m working on right now uses that line. (Followed by, “Next you shed a tear and tell me it’s for the children.”)

SCI-FI? Sounds more like a Democrat reality story. I am so glad after to day they won’t be advertising to vote for a $1.00 a pack tax on cigarettes, part of the BS is ‘it’s for the children’ …until Jerry Brown and the suckasses in Sacramento figure out a way to get their hooks into it like they do everything else.

“The common good”, how many people have been murdered or imprisoned the last hundred years in the name of “the common good”? Yes, it’s only sugared soda but Tomasky makes it clear that it’s just a beginning; invoking “the common good” can be used to justify any government excess. It’s always about control of the individual.

“The common good”, three words that should make you shudder (or lock and load) when spoken by a liberal.
