Senate OKs tax bill as Trump, GOP near big legislative win. This remains to be seen. This is like Obamacare. You have to pass it to not only see what’s in it but also all the last minute additions/deletions. They also repealed the Obamacare mandate with this bill.

Nobody here, including me, knows what is in this tax bill. I have read reports though that the bill does not get rid of the inheritance tax, the so-called death tax. And that has to be the worst tax our gooberment ever came up with. I made good money in my working years. I got lucky, made some good investments in the stock market, own quite a bit of land, and when the Lord tells me it is time to go my children are going to have to give 40% of everything I leave them to the friggin’ gooberment. I already paid the taxes on my earnings over the years. I pay a lot of money in property taxes every year. I have to pay capital gains taxes every year. And what I have left after I die gets taxed again? I thought double taxation was illegal. Yet the gooberment does it anyway? I’m retired, this tax bill as I understand it won’t do me any good anyway. But not getting rid of “death taxes” is wrong in every sense of the word.

You need to see an estate planner. Consider setting up some trusts to shelter them from some of the hit. Plus loved ones get to enjoy the money while you’re alive.

Give them some of it now. Consider the personal gift of 14K per person each year. Your family would love opening a card with 14 grand inside at Christmas!

The simplest tax plan is to have a national sales tax. No deductions. You keep all your earned money and pay the tax when you buy something. It will stop the black market and the pay under the table. You buy something, you pay. You do not buy anything you pay nothing.

The simplest thing is to go back to a Constitutional government, and then you wouldn’t NEED all that money.

Yep. Get rid of useless things like the department of education, the EPA, OSHA, the DEA, all the gooberment jobs that do no good for the American people. The federal government should be worried about national security, border control and trade agreements that help the American workers. Pretty much everything else the gooberment does is a waste of time and money.

To accomplish that we have to get rid of the establishment which now dominate both sides of the aisle. To them more gooberment workers equate to more votes, just like welfare and illegals, and so called refugees. It seems all they care about is power, even if it means the destruction of this country. I believe even that, it is part of some global plan.

If it’s not SPECIFICALLY listed in the enumerated powers, it is unlawful, and should be stopped.

You sound like Huckabee. I mean that in a good way.

The GOP messing with tax code makes me just as nervous as the dems messing with it does. I have little to no faith in this benefitting me or my family. If these clowns pass a bill, I’ll be buying lube for next tax season. Hopefully it will be deductible…

The tax bill is an effort to encourage growth. You have to have deregulation, which I think they are accomplishing. You also have to greatly reduce spending, which is the leg that is very unstable right now. Actually, it is the 20 Trillion pound gorilla that is destroying all hope.

How odd; most Republicans in Congress only oppose deficit spending when they are in the minority.

Here is a good look at that gorilla. Keep in mind those are $100 bills.
