The woman who made the call to shut down LA County indefinitely is not a medical doctor. Barbara Ferrer, who makes more than half a million dollars per year as Los Angeles County’s Director of Public Health, has a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies, a Master of Arts in Education, a Master of Arts in Public Health, and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare. She’s basically a glorified community organizer.
