Star Trek took place 350 years in the future. Imagine what 2011 America would look like to people living 1658! Utopia! Today’s “underpriviledged” American lives better than any king did in 1658. So why isn’t this “utopia”? “Let’s face it, our evolutionarily programmed drive to dominate and control other human beings will always drive us to invent new problems as a pretext for dominating others.” Utopia will never be achieved because it’s really just a pretext for control-freaks to obtain power.
