What if nothing or nobody is to blame for Adam Lanza? Guns, video games, autism or authorities? “What if there is nobody or nothing to blame for Adam Lanza’s heinous acts? Other than Lanza, of course.” Well, that just makes it all the more easier for the Democrat-media complex to blame whoever they wish.

Good a place as any to mention that I went to Shoot Straight this morning – Dean and Poppa know it – the place was cleaned out. The only semi-automatic rifles left were Bushmaster .22LRs and really expensive (over $2500) larger caliber models. The hunting rifle shelves were stripped including most shotguns and I bought the last three 9mm magazines for my S&W. I also bought the last three boxes of hollow points. I don’t even remember the brand. Unreal. The staff was exhausted. I shot pretty good though. Not with the hollow points, of course.

Doesn’t surprise me, I believe kind of thing is happening across the U.S.

A friend wants to buy my Gen 1 Glock 17 after the holidays, but if it’s going to cost a bundle to replace it with a Sig, I’m going to have to jack up the asking price.

poppajoe49
Member

I’m glad that I’m not looking for a new gun now. The price increase would resiously crimp my options.

flashingscotsman

Maybe things will ease up next month. Either that, or Obama will have closed all gun shops, and I’ll have to keep my Glock.

How does somebody stop a crazy person from hurting other people? Besides locking them up (which was the reason for the snap in this case)? This whole tragedy was a combination of many factors, poor parenting being one of them.

Personally, I blame Corporate Greed.

That’s just my opinion though.

Geoff B

You really are a vile human being to trivialize the horrific events of last week with your inane claptrap. Very nearly as bad as the WBC scum. Normally I (and I’m guessing many others here) see you a just a joke. You’ve really gone beyond the pale on this thread. You are at best a sick fool and at worst a total sociopath.

jcrowley1985
Member

You mean like how Corporate Greed is trivializing those lives lost and using them as an excuse to push forward their anti-gun agenda?

Geoff B
Member

Are you fucking kidding me? Yes, there are some who are doing this (Moore, Bloomberg, Morgan) it is to advance their sick political agenda. But can you site one refernce where this unholy alliance of corporate greed (because y’know all corporations have the same political leanings, right?)is trying to undo the 2nd Amendment? Only a true nutcase would think this tragedy is some sort of corporate and government conspiracy.

poppajoe49
Member

Geoff, the typing turd contradicted himself. He thinks corporate greed is pushing an anti gun agenda. Wouldn’t they push a pro gun agenda?
Don’t try using logic on him, just insult him and move along.

flashingscotsman
Member

Well, I know for certain that the gun manufacturers, (every one of them a corporation), are working to end their usefulness.

jcrowley1985
Member

And don’t you think that more restrictions might actually increase their profits? Take illegal drugs for example. The street value of most illegal substances is so high BECAUSE they’re illegal. The risk of getting caught selling them justifies their increased cost. Putting ANY legislation on guns would justify a higher cost for those willing to jump through the red tape to buy them. Hence more profit for the greedy corporations who make them.

poppajoe49

I would call you retarded, but it would be an insult to retarded people.

Would a crazy person vote for Ron Paul?

sa_rose

Yes, they would. Ron Paul is an anarchist at heart. I think nut jobs would love him to be in charge, in as much as there IS anyone in charge.

You God Damn right they would…stuff that in your Cheeto’s bag and chew on it numbnuts…The other half of your .005 percent voted for that fat pig Roseanne Barr….

Of course it is. Now shut up. Fourths.

Actually they’ve already blamed someone. Gun owners. I just saw Feckless Leader and Biden on TV. Joe’s going to head a gun control commission or something like that. With Joe in charge they’ll probably ban gum or gin or something that sounds similar.

What they’re doing makes as much sense as blaming all car owners on that 100+ car pile up in Texas a couple of weeks ago.

Common sense has left the building.

Sidekick
Member

This is not about common sense and that is what is so disturbing. We just keep taking one political body blow after another by this power grabbing opportunistic regime.

flashingscotsman
Member

I wouldn’t worry about Uncle Joe banning gin.

Sidekick
Member

Actually, I’m relieved that Biden will head up this commission. We are guaranteed of nothing getting done. These idiots in Washington may fantasize about disarming us but the reality the members of both Houses would like to get re-elected and as soon as the tragedy in Newtown fades, it will be business as usual. Oh, by the way, there is something about Benghazi, F&F, and the Fiscal Cliff but we’ve been distracted by a another liberal smoke grenade so those issues will disappear without controversy it seems.

Isn’t there non stop ads on TV hustling a video game, Black Ops or something, that shows the gamer blowing away masses of people and end’s with some nerdy guy walking away from the mayhem armed to the teeth with the message, “Because there is a little (killer or something) in all of us.”
Isn’t it coming out that this Lansa nutcase wacko (mentally disturbed to you liberals out there) was addicted to video games? I dunno, but I think that violent movies and video games are way more responsible for setting the loonies off than guns. So, how are you going to stop the nut cases from watching this stuff? You cant, and you cant prevent nut cases, loons, violent criminals, and pathological killers from getting guns? Oh I know, outlaw them just like drugs. That’s working well isn’t it??? Maybe if we posted a sign that says, “Gun Free Zone”
How about a sign that says, “WARNING! There are armed people in this school and any attempt to enter this building illegally will be instantly met with deadly force without warnings.” After a couple of these assholes are blown away right away, I think the word will get around quickly.
Another sign is needed, “ACLU protesters will be shot on sight” And then enforce both signs.

Joe
Member

I think blaming violent video games and movies for this is like blaming guns. Millions of people play these videos games and watch these movies and a perfectly fine and functioning individuals. Just as millions of people own guns and they are perfectly fine and functioning individuals.

If anyone is to blame then I blame the media. They turn these people into celebrities and give them power they shouldn’t have. They champion legislatures who create new laws (usually that take away peoples rights) based upon the acts of these people. Imagine a mentally sick person who knows all they have to do is kill a bunch of people and he or she affects the lives of millions for decades. Then the media can’t wait to endlessly air pictures of the person who did this on their stations and call out his name over and over. That probably has a greater affect then a video game. I hate the media, which is why I have not turned on a news station since the election.

Navyvet2

I’m not saying it’s the video’s and movies and guns for the average Joe. It’s what sets the nut jobs off. And of course you are right about the effing media-pukes. Most of these nut jobs (the shooters, not the media in this case) have most likely been teased throughout their lives because, well because their odd balls and weirdos. So here is a chance at great fame and celebrity. They (the media nut jobs) should simply say, some crazy killed a bunch of people because he has always been a loon. Not all this media crap turning the wacko into some kind of victim and celebrity.

I think most of the MSM coverage is way worse then movies/games/music. They just reflect society, rather then the MSM, which always has an agenda in their coverage of everything. Keep putting this Lanza kid’s face on screen to promote the next shooter. These punks know how the game works, & the MSM is too happy to play their part.

PsychoDad

Well, I think you can break down reasons without it being an exercise in blame. For whatever reason, things HAVE changed. As recently as the early 60s, high schools in NYC had student target shooting clubs, and kids actually brought their own rifles to school with them. Can you even imagine that now?

All things considered, I’d be a little scared of that — now. BTW, anyone else hear a real winner of a story out of Utah? Mom sends her SIXTH-GRADER to school with a .22 revolver, and sure enough, it’s pointed at another kid’s head at recess. Now that’s just stupid all around. Maybe gun rights and voter rights BOTH should have some sort of intelligence test. SF writer Robert Heinlein wrote very specifically about that sort of thing over and over – having rights is one thing, getting to exercise them responsibly is another.

Remember, as conservatives we are often fond of saying that rights carry responsibilities with them. Maybe keep bullets and ballots both away from the halfwits and we won’t end up with dead kids and Red presidents.

Here is what I’m reminded of, & it from 1986…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FevrfoiNkeE

…the lyrical content…

Accept T. V. War Lyrics

T. V. War is part of life
Entertaining and far, far away
What a story and how they fight
Let’s gamble and guess who will win

Danger is nowhere
We still gotta chance to switch off
Remote control and the guarantee
Is somewhere else

T. V. War – T. V. War
Bloodless but deadly and cruel
T. V. War – T. V. War

We are eating while we’re watching
People die on the screen
Toasted, roasted and scrambled and fried
We are greedy and pay

Information – in between
Missiles are in the air
You can hear them and see
They’re already here

T. V. War – T. V. War
Bloodless but deadly and cruel
T. V. War – T. V. War
Oh yeah!

According to informed sources
Of the defense ministry:
There is no confirmation
That enemy missiles have penetrated our airspace
Impact is estimated in a matter of minutes
Good evening!

T. V. War – T. V. War
Bloodless but deadly and cruel
T. V. War – T. V. War
Bloodless but deadly and cruel
T. V. War – T. V. War

…the story is ahead of it’s time, & Accept is 1 of my very favorite bands.

I remember a hand-carved wooden sign hanging on the gate of a man’s home way in the outback, on the side of a mountain, miles of bad dirt road to get there. “All liberals, and most other criminals, will be shot on sight.”

Or the one I saw.. Trespassers, solicitors, and liberals will be shot on site, survivors will be shot again and again.

Poppa, try not to crash your pickup, driving while blind from the tears of laughter and happiness.

poppajoe49

I may need to have a designated driver.

flashingscotsman

I can do the driving. I’m a professional.

I may have to stop for a “laugh myself to tears” break once in a while though.

poppajoe49
Member

I also am a professional, Class A CDL with most of the endorsements, but it’s tough to drive when you’re laughing so hard that you can’t control your water!

flashingscotsman
Member

Hey, it paid by the hour. I can drive the truck, or I can do paperwork.

My favorite was hauling carcinogenic oils to Beatty, Nevada. Leave in the middle of the night, get to Beatty at 7 a.m., sign in, (there’s that paperwork thing again), and go nap on the couch in the driver’s lounge while they empty my tank and clean my truck for me. On the clock.

poppajoe49
Member

I hate dealing with the extra paperwork and the MSDS.

flashingscotsman
Member

I hauled hazardous for a few years, and I’m certified to handle the stuff with heavy equipment. Sometimes, hazardous is sweet duty, with mandated safety stops, having other people clean out your truck, etc. Other times, whey you’re still doing your own cleaning and such, it’s a pain.

poppajoe49
Member

I thought about it too, but I don’t want to haul Haz-Mat unless its ammo or explosives. Hoping for some “extra” stuff to come my way.

flashingscotsman
Member

Yeah, and it’s not free to take it, like the rest. Background checks and all. But I might want to go back to driving, at least part time.

poppajoe49
Member

I never got passenger, had no desire. I dropped Haz-Mat.
You do know that if you don’t re-take that test every 3 years, it automatically drops off.
I have everything else also.

flashingscotsman
Member

The only endorsement I don’t have is passenger. I have no interest in hauling people around. HazMat, tank, triples, all that.

This incident was obviously planned by the government as an excuse to implement gun controls. Ron Paul wouldn’t have stood for this being for personal liberties and all.

poppajoe49

Seriously shithead?
Why can’t you answer Danybhoy’s question?

“What the eff has Ron Paul done about the nearly 20,000 unconstitutional gun laws that still don’t work? He’s been in Congress for over 2 decades, & has no meaningful legislation to his name. “

danybhoy
Member

Poppa, A few months ago, remember when I pissed off lots of people when I kept asking him about 9/11? I kept asking what he thought about it, because I get the feeling he thought it was an inside job. Lots of Ron Paul cultists are down with that, as well as the Alex Jones/Infowars/PrisonPlanet followers. crowley has that vibe & I cannot stand people like that. They tend to be a pain in tha ass, & not worth the trouble.

jcrowley1985

The rest of Corporate Greed controlled Congress won’t let him get anything done. They can’t have someone who actually represents the people actually make progress in doing so.

sa_rose

OMG! You are saspsycho as the Democrats who still think Obama is the Messiah! How can you keep spouting what is so obviously SHIT?

flashingscotsman

TD,……………….MO.

danybhoy
Member

Really? Really? really?, REALLY? rRRreally?

What the eff has Ron Paul done about the nearly 20,000 unconstitutional gun laws that still don’t work? He’s been in Congress for over 2 decades, & has no meaningful legislation to his name. 1 bill, a measure authored by Paul that was ultimately enacted allowed for a federal customhouse to be sold to a local historic preservation society (H.R. 2121 in 2009). That is it, & you think he can walk on water. But you know what, ANYONE can do it, you just have to wait until it’s frozen solid. The guy puts pork barrel projects into spending bills, & then votes against them when he sees it has the votes to pass.

Keep posting Ron Paul this & Ron Paul that, I don’t give a sh!t, but it’s people like you crowley, who do way more harm then good for Ron Paul by acting like you are above it all when you are not. How dumb M-effers like you function amazes me, & people like you gave us an idiot like Obama the 1st time around, let alone getting him a 2nd term, & don’t kid yourself, voting Ron Paul was your right, but it was, by default, a vote for Obama. Whether you believe it now or not, I don’t care, the person who benifited most by your vote was Obama, period, end of story.

His mother was in the process of having him committed and he knew it. That’s what set him off. He was also jealous of the the children his mother worked with part time. Survivalist mom collects guns, mentally unstable son has access to the guns and knows he is about to be committed. Recipe for disaster.
