Another convert to the Church of the Holy Obama

by editor on June 12, 2009

It would seem there’s good reason that President Obama is referred to as “The One”. In another example of media pundits bravely and objectively speaking truth to power, MSNBC’s hard-hitting analysis of Obama’s Cairo speech began with Hardball’s Chris Matthews:

“I think the President’s speech yesterday was the reason we Americans elected him. It was grand. It was positive. Hopeful…But what I liked about the President’s speech in Cairo was that it showed a complete humility…”

Matthews then turned to Newsweek editor Evan Thomas and blurted out one of his grammatically-tortured questions, “Reagan and World War II and the sense of us as the good guys in the world, how are we doing?”

“…Reagan was all about America and you talked about it,” Newsweek Editor Even Thomas said. “Obama is ‘We are above that now. We’re not just parochial, we’re not just chauvinistic, we’re not just provincial.’ I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above the world, he’s sort of God.”

Chris Matthews was quick to agree that he, too, was a true believer.

Hey, wait a minute. Whatever happened to the “separation of church and state” that liberals are always carrying on about? Oh. Guess it all depends on the church.

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

For all lofty expectations of Obama brining us together, uniting the world and brining peace I have yet to see any evidence that he’s brought anyone together. Evan Thomas must be dislexic — Obama is like a dog — just wants to be the one to pee highest on the tree
