OK, so maybe the name Barack didn’t come up in the survey. But we’re willing to bet that it will soon rocket to the top of the “Boy, we wish we hadn’t done that” list.
The New York Daily News reports the negative nomenclature news:
One in five parents reports having second thoughts on the name they so carefully chose for their baby, a study in Britain found.
Many of the 3,000 parents surveyed said they wish they’d picked a less popular name, while one in 10 say they chose a quirky moniker only to have the novelty quickly wear off.
That could be because 15 percent of parents say their baby’s name has sparked amusement from friends and relatives – and one in five have felt scorn from a stranger. Ouch.
“Today’s baby name trends move very quickly, so names that seem relatively unusual and quirky can quickly become mainstream and common in the classroom,” Faye Mingo of the parenting club Bounty, which sponsored the survey, told The Sun.
So far, there are no reports of anyone naming their children after Joe Biden.
