Argentina freezes prices to break inflation spiral. A move which will lead to shortages and an ever-growing black market if the past is any indicator. Might as well try to lower the oceans by gubbermint decree… oh wait, that’s been done already.

Speaking of Argentina – I have three words for their perky little President – “Iron my shirt.”

Didn’t they try this before, you know just before they confiscated everyone’s pensions? Didn’t work too well that time either if I remember correctly.

A price freeze won’t work and have never worked: as the Roman emperor Diocletian and President Richard Nixon found out. Argentina once had a vibrant economy that was wrecked by a series of oppressive, corrupt, populist tax and spend govements starting with Juan and Eva Peron, the Obamas of South America.

So does that mean there is an Obama Opera coming soon? “Don’t Cry for me America?”

Hey poppa, way ot but…was just reading and came across something I had to look up, then thought Wiki was pulling my ahem so had to look more, decided it wasn’t bs and it left me scratching my head thinking it was one of the dumbest things I’d ever heard of.

Help me out here, where in the world did jughandles and ‘Jersey lefts’ come from? An why?!

LOL!!
Jughandles are called that because they resemble the handle on an old whiskey jug.
Jersey lefts are because there are no main roads in NJ that you can make a left on, they all have jughandles.

Inflation is the unfortunate consequence of fiat currency. Should have kept the money supply backed by metals or something of actual value.

What??? I thought inflation was caused by corporate greed.

Yes, Corporate Greed uses debased fiat currency to control the money supply for their own greed.

“The government says it’s trying to hold the next union wage hikes to 20 percent, a figure that suggests how little anyone believes the official index that pegs annual inflation at just 10 percent.”

Hmm . . . think those wage hikes might be PART of the inflation?
