In a new love poem to the President thinly disguised as an article, the Huffington Post expressed immense relief at the fact the media was finally taking the Least Loved by the Media Ever President’s side.
“We knew this was coming.” they cheered. “The media have finally noticed the gap between Barack Obama’s extraordinary achievements — health care reform, financial reform and preventing a depression, to name a very few — and his seeming inability to win credit for them. “Why can’t Obama get a break?” is the meme of the day.“
Why? Well, we’re not sure why, but we’re willing to bet a big pile of worthless American dollars that it has something to do with George Bush or the Republican Party or George Bush and the Republican Party, or the Tea Party or George Bush and the Tea Party or … well, you get the idea.
Of course, this would be a pretty safe bet since the article goes on to say, “The Republicans, drawing from a deep well of corporate advertising talent, are expert at telling emotionally powerful stories, often with scant concern for the truth. In response, Democrats present … facts.”
Yes, folks, the Democrats deal in facts. Just because those facts are later proven to be what the Irish politely call “malarkey” should not matter. As far as this article goes, maybe the left should re-evaluate the idea that passing a lot of legislation does not make you a great President, especially when the majority of the American people oppose the legislation that you’re so damn proud of.
If the left is honestly waiting for Obama to get thanks for the boondoggle of a healthcare bill that took so many “facts” to get passed, we think they may be in for a big surprise.
Because it doesn’t look like thanks is what they’re going to get in November.
