Now the Huffington Post wants to boycott the Arizona Diamondbacks

The folks at the Huffington Post have taken too many pitches to the head

In the near future sportscasters may run down a players stats like this:

“Ed Shlumpy at bat. He’s hitting .311 this year, bats right, throws right and leans right with a pro-life advocacy rating of 93.0%”

It may sounds strange to you, but not to Huffington Post readers who are used to left wing nonsense like the article entitled “No one is Illegal: Boycott the Arizona Diamondbacks”

The article says, “This will be the last column I write about the Arizona Diamondbacks in the foreseeable future. For me, they do not exist. They will continue to not exist in my mind as long as the horribly named ‘Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act’ remains law in Arizona. This law has brought echoes of apartheid to the state.”

It goes on to state that “This is not merely because they happen to be the team from Arizona. The D-backs organization is a primary funder of the state Republican Party, which has been driving the measure through the legislature.”

The article ends by saying “If the owners of the Diamondbacks want to underwrite an ugly edge of bigotry, we should raise our collective sporting fists against them. A boycott is also an expression of solidarity with Diamondback players such as Juan Guitterez, Gerardo Parra, and Rodrigo Lopez. They shouldn’t be put in a position where they’re cheered on the playing field and then asked for their papers when the uniform comes off.”

The same could supposedly be said of Phoenix police officers, 25% of whom are of Hispanic descent. Except that no one cheers them, on duty or off, especially when they – unlike the federal government – actually attempt to enforce the law.

To paraphrase Ernest Thayer, “Mighty Arianna has struck out.”

The baseball players are probably not here illegally and if they are here illegally and they are being asked for their papers it is probably because they sped or ran a light or did something much more dangerous where the cop has to know who are they which is the appropriate thing to do. If they are here legally and they did something it is normal still to be asked their papers. Everyone has to do it in such circumstances. When a cop sees someone doing something against the law, it is appropriate to know who this person is. If the person is a legal citizen the person gets treated like one, if the person is not a legal citizen the person gets treated as an illegal person. It is simple and plain what is the problem? So using them as a way to make a “point” is stupid.

When I got into a car accident the cop asked me for my identity and the ID papers of the other person. I didn’t cause the accident, but that was necessary. What’s the problem? He of course found out that I am here legally so the necessary steps where taken. If I had been here illegally then other necessary steps had to be taken. It is normal it is right again I dont see the problem here. Many lives and properties have been safeguarded because a cop asked the right questions and got all the information necessary when they found someone breaking a minor law or regulation. My Mom always says “If you do nothing (wrong/bad/illegal), you fear nothing (no one)”.

It is crazy how other countries especially in Latin American are stickler for immigration rules. They truly do not want certain peoples in their countries and put a lot of issues in between a person and their getting into the country legally. Yet a lot of these same countries applaud people for coming here illegally and ask them to send the dollars down. This is just wrong.

I agree why should I have to wait and show all my documentations and do fingerprinting and photos and visas and what not when I visit another country? If people from all of the world find the US people barbarians for the supposed mistreatment of illegal people, then I have the right to complain about them and demand that I may be allowed to just walk into the country without any documentation nor regard for the laws of the land.

That’s a great point Robert, why do we have to have and show passports in every other country including Canada where I went last summer and spent hours waitng in the customs line? We should demand from our government representatives, especially the democrats that they bring a stop to this obvious bigotry, I am offended beyond belief when forced to obey other countrys laws and don’t feel that I nor my fellow countrymen should stand for it any longer.

How does illegal immigration affect you based on race? If we have an insecure border, ANYONE from anywhere with ANYTHING could get into our country.

Funny, when I travel to other countries, I have to have a passport and show it to do just about any transaction from getting through customs to exchanging money. Maybe I should be offended when I visit because I am being treated differently than citizens of that country.

Mixing state or national politics with baseball does not go over well for Dems…

If “no one is illegal” then why do the liberals get their panties in a smelly twist over a law that only seeks to deal with illegals. LOGIC! That law (according to Huff Post headline) therefore effects ‘no one’.

‘No one’ need fear that law if that is the case… Which is worse: The Huffing Paint Post basically calling illegals non entities (dehumanizing!) that don’t even exist or the fact that AZ (at the time of this post) is not even .500 for the season thus far.

Liberals who read the Huff Rag don’t get that last reference… They are too busy sticking up for the legal rights of illegals, even though said illegals do not really exist because ‘no one’ is illegal. Scooby Doo episode plots made more sense then Liberal Logic does…

ALL ONE HAS TO DO IS LOOK AT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO EMIGRES IN MEXICO IF THEY PROTESTED THE MEXICAN GOV. THEY WOULD BE JAILED AND DEPORTED.
THEY WOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO STAY IF THEY WOULD UPSET THE DEMOGRAPHIC BALANCE(RACIST TO ANYONE NOT MEXICAN). IT IS A JOKE!
THE LEFT ARE JUST A BUNCH OF COMMIES WHO WANT THE VOTES FROM THE MEXICANS. PLAIN AND SIMPLE-AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE NOW PUSHING FOR STATEHOOD FOR PR-THAT IS A FEW MILLION MORE VOTES FOR THE GREAT DIVIDER-NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

I for one am sick of the utter stupidity of the racist MSM and blogspots like the Huffandstoned Post, the complete and utter fools from the failed state of California, and the purveyors of racism like Sharpton, Buba Clinton and their ilk. Illegal means NOT LEGAL. If you do something illegal (like sneak into this country illegally) then you have broken the law and are, you guessed it, ILLEGAL! What Arizona has done is NOT unconstitutional, but in fact echos established federal law. It does expose the glaring fact that obuma and his predecessors have not performed their sworn duty to uphold those laws or, for that matter, the Constitution of this once-great nation.

Were I D-backs management, I would be using this as an advertising tool….come out and enjoy the game. We promise there won’t be any dope smoking scumbag liberals in the stands getting too drunk, and using foul and violent language around your kids!
Families can come back to the ball park and not be accosted by dope-head hippies!

Yeah, & if someone was sitting in the seat they paid for at a sporting event or a concert, they would raise holy hell over it. If someone is someplace they DO NOT have a LEGAL right to be, they should be ejected. If it’s at a ticketed event, or a nation, if they cannot prove they should be there, should be gone.
