Is Obama a closet Republican?

You’d be forgiven for thinking so if you read a recent article on Politico.com that says, “President Barack Obama took a swipe Saturday at top Senate Republicans for opposing a financial regulatory reform bill, accusing them of taking their cues from Wall Street special interests.”

He must be an evil Republican - he's owned by those even more evil Wall Streeters

You’d be forgiven for thinking so if you read a recent article on Politico.com that says, “President Barack Obama took a swipe Saturday at top Senate Republicans for opposing a financial regulatory reform bill, accusing them of taking their cues from Wall Street special interests.”

Problem is, it would be extremely difficult – if not damned impossible – to find a politician in Washington more in debt to Wall Street special interests than Barack Obama. To be specific, by the end of June, Wall Street had already given Obama $9.5 million.

Even liberals blush crimson at the thought of Greatest President In History’s campaign coffers overflowing with Wall Street money. An article on the Huffington Post titled “Goldman Sachs, Obama, Money” says “Goldman Sachs employees gave just shy of a million dollars to the Obama campaign, ranking second in contributions. Citigroup and JPMorgan ranked sixth and seventh. Goldman Sachs gave Obama four times more than they gave McCain.”

This is one big fat ugly chicken that is coming home to roost.

New York Times columnist David Brooks is appalled. “Over the past few years,” he writes, “people from Goldman Sachs have assumed control over large parts of the federal government. Over the next few they might just take over the whole darn thing.”

Closet Republican? Probably not. In fact, if speaking out of both sides of your mouth is a trait of Democratic politicians, Obama is the biggest Democrat ever.
