When a newscaster is looking for a new job, he puts together a reel of his best work and sends it out to prospective employers.
Before it was revealed that the entire Keith-Olbermann-has-been-suspended story was nothing but a publicity stunt, we had high hopes that Keith would end up as the co-anchor on a new Huntley-Brinkley style newscast with Dan Rather at the HD Network. Pairing those two losers would have been pure genius.
But whether it was the HD Network or some other network no one watches, you know that a man of Keith Olbermann’s immense talent wouldn’t have been out of work long when he can send out a demo reel featuring this kind of power, this kind of strength, this kind of intelligence, and dare we say it, this kind of charisma.
