MSNBC political analyst suspended for calling Obama “a dick” on the air

by editor on June 30, 2011

This is just too damn funny. Political analyst Mark Halperin – normally a good liberal – just got suspended by MSNBC for calling President Obama “a dick” on today’s Morning Joe show.

“I thought he was a dick yesterday,” Halperin said in reference to the President’s conduct during his press conference.

One might say that Halperin was suspended for telling the truth, a commodity in very short supply at MSNBC.

Of course, Halperin later fell on his sword after he was suspended and issued a statement saying, “I completely agree with everything in MSNBC’s statement about my remark. I believe that the step they are taking in response is totally appropriate. Again, I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President, to my MSNBC colleagues, and to the viewers. My remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it.”

So the way we now understand liberal philosophy, you can serve in the United States House of Representatives if you send a photo of your dick to a young woman, but you can’t call someone a dick.

Welcome to ObamaNation 2011.

Why the apology? The Prez was a “dick yesterday”. He’s a dick today, he’ll be a dick tomorrow. He’s a dick any day, everyday, in every way.

obumbles is the dumb ass, dork, tool, mOron, etc. etc. etc..

Sounds like a valid observation. Maybe he’d like a job at Fox News……

No, if the observation was valid, he’d have said that he was a pr*ck. It’s a matter of scale in relative assholery. A dick might put ex-lax in your hot cocoa as a gag — a pr*ck would cancel your grandmother’s cancer medicine.

In other words, a d*ck is a prankster, and a pr*ck is an anti-health-care-reform Republican.

Works for me. 😀

Nooooo. There are enough looney liberals at Fox already.

The only liberals I’ve ever seen at FAUX News were shills.

Did you never realize that they set it up that way on purpose, to dupe gullible viewers into thinking that liberals are wimps? 😀

He said it. He owns it. I think he meant it.

I think he tried to voice his opinion, but generally, when a Donk apologizes, it goes in one of two forms:

“I’m sorry that you were upset by what I said. Must be something wrong with you.”

or:

“When I called you a [pejorative], I didn’t mean to upset you by calling you a [pejorative] — even though there are some who call you a [pejorative], my calling you a [pejorative] was unjustified, and I will not call you a [pejorative], even though lots of people call you a [pejorative].”

Since he used neither of the two forms of [in]sincere Donk apologies, I’m concluding that he actually meant to apologize.

He probably thought that he could enjoy his right to free speech, but he will happily get back in the box, please forgive me, Comrade Obama, thank you Comrade Obama, may I have another.

I forgot. On apology 1, they always conclude with something to the effect of “…of course, we know the *real* reason you were upset is because you’re raaaaacist.”

To everyone named Dick I apologize on behalf of Mark Halperin.

Saying he completely agrees with his suspension sounds like he is just trying to save his job. What happended to public apologies? Now its a suspension too? But calling President Bush a Monkey was perfectly acceptable. No suspension needed.

Does this have echoes of the Stalin show trials, where those accused of calling Stalin a dick would tearfully confess their heinous crimes against the people, admit to being reactionary counteragents of Capitalism, and beg to be executed rather than be shown Socialist mercy?

Well, to the left, a monkey is a complement and “Dick” is offensive. Unless the Republican and Democrat tables were reversed.

As far as I can figure out, any offense to Repubicans is justified, but any offense to Democrats is terrible, horrible, dispicable, and unjustified.

I think that’s it in a nut shell.
