To summarize Matthews’ position: Hey, Weiner didn’t get caught with another woman. This is nothing more than high school level embarrassment. A mere trifle. Nothing to see here. Move on.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Chris Matthews. In this video clip the MSNBC host downplays Anthony Weiner’s recent, shall we say, indiscretions. To summarize Matthews’ position: Hey, Weiner didn’t get caught with another woman. This is nothing more than high school level embarrassment. A mere trifle. Nothing to see here. Move on.
Well, may we suggest that you don’t move on too quickly. Because we’ve found a couple other video clips where Matthews seems absolutely horrified by the sexual hijinks of Republicans Mark Foley, Larry Craig and David Vitter.
First, here’s Matthews downplaying Weinergate:
The video clip above makes it clear that Chris thinks it’s no big deal that Anthony Weiner sent a photo of his weiner to a young man, but in the following clip he is horrified that Mark Foley asked young men to come to his apartment for a drink. He actually compares it to the last days of the Roman Empire.
And here’s Matthews calling for the heads of Senators Larry Craig and David Vitter.
We’d say Matthews is a hypocrite, but he’s on MSNBC so that’s probably not necessary.
Outspoken Australian feminist Germaine Greer has launched a stinging attack on domestic dogs, blaming them for the ruination of a protected perennial flower, the English bluebell.
Germaine Greer’s fifteen minutes of fame expired years ago. The once prominent feminist is now struggling to find a new cause célèbre that can restart the clock. Oddly enough, she seems to have settled on the plight of her favorite flower.
Germaine Greer dislikes dog poo almost as much as we dislike the phrase "dog poo"
Outspoken Australian feminist Germaine Greer has launched a stinging attack on domestic dogs, blaming them for the ruination of a protected perennial flower, the English bluebell.
Addressing Britain’s Hay Festival on Thursday, the 72-year-old Melbourne-born academic who owns a patch of land covered in the plant that flowers in spring, pointed the finger at toxic dog poo for the plant’s scarcity.
”If you love your bluebells, kill your dog,” said Greer dramatically…
Overdramatically, actually.
Toxic dog poo. Watch out, Rachel Carson. Here comes Germaine Greer with a new book called “Silent but Deadly Spring.”
Let’s say you’re an artist. A hack artist, perhaps. Your work really isn’t very good and under normal circumstances you’d either starve to death or have to go get a real job. What to do? What to do?
Let’s say you’re an artist. A hack artist, perhaps. Your work really isn’t very good and under normal circumstances you’d either starve to death or have to go get a real job. What to do? What to do?
This is the post-television age. The iPod age. The iPad age. All an artist need do is figure out a good scam and hornswaggle the media into promoting your “art.”
Interesting that Coreth created his latest ice sculpture in Australia, because it looks far more like a wombat than a polar bear
News24 offers a case in point:
A ten tonne polar bear camping out at Sydney’s majestic Circular Quay isn’t likely to survive for more than a day or two. The bear, made of solid ice, will slowly melt into a great puddle of water under Sydney’s 20°C winter sun, and sculptor Mark Coreth is just fine with that.
In fact, he hopes this slow and painful “death” will remind people of the plight of the real thing.
Here comes the part we love. The part where he tells us he was inspired by the noble native:
“When I was [in the Arctic], the Inuit guides were saying look, you can sculpt a polar bear, that’s fine, but how on earth are you going to sculpt the real issue we got, and that’s the warming arctic?” Coreth said in front of Sydney’s Customs House.
Turns out the Brit has been traveling the world with these frozen polar bear sideshows since 2009. He’s got the spiel down cold, you might say:
“Sitting in the sun, it’s going to melt that bear, that’s the natural warming of the planet, as is happening,” he said.
“But when people touch it, when they touch that bear, they melt it, you can feel it melt under your hand, that’s a human impact. Big hard touch, big hard melt.”
But don’t get the impression Coreth is some kind of starving artist. He may love the hell out of the polar bears, but as AFP notes, he’s figured out how to turn a profit by melting hearts with his melting art.
Bypassers can pay Aus$2 to touch the creature, feeling “the ice melting under your hand,” said Coreth, who hopes to raise awareness about global warming and its effect on polar bears, an endangered species.
Touch the creature. Sounds like an online conversation with Anthony Weiner.

He told Don Imus that he’s worried that extended unemployment may cause civil unrest, which is merely a euphemism for riots in the streets.
James Carville is the Democrat political strategist who coined the phrase “It’s the economy, stupid.”
When he gets that Cajun accent going we only understand about half of what he says. But we understood every word when he told Don Imus that he’s worried that extended unemployment may cause civil unrest, which is merely a euphemism for riots in the streets. And that, he says, may have a destabilizing effect on American politics.
Of course, it might be wise to keep in mind that when Carville speaks of destabilization of American politics, he means Democrats may get voted out of office.
“It is going to be very difficult,” Carville said. “But the country, if that is what we are doing, this is gruesome on people. This unemployment rate for this long is humanitarian crisis of the first magnitude. This financial crisis, people have studied this by the way, they know that the things take this long to work their way through. The aftermath of these things — kind of an academic book that is dry entitled ‘This Time is Different.’ What it concluded it is not different this time. They studied it, the aftermath of the financial crisis. What we are going through is imminently predictable. But this is a terrible thing that has happened to people’s lives. I think the president at one level understands that, you know. But he is limited in what he can do. So we’ll just have to see. But it’s going to be hard. If 54,000 jobs is the new norm – this is going to be very, very tough. Some people say it just might be one more thing. We don’t know.”
But Carville said the consequences aren’t limited to politics alone. He warned of heighten risk of civil unrest with the bleak economic picture.
“You know, look – this is a humanitarian — you know, you’re smart enough to see this,” Carville said. “People, you know, if it continues, we’re going to start to see civil unrest in this country. I hate to that, but I think it’s [eminently] possible.”
Translation: Riot all you want when Republicans are in office. But hell’s bells, people, don’t do it when a Democrat is sitting in the Oval Office.
We hate bad-news good-news jokes, especially when the punch line is “there is no good news.” This is one of those occasions.
We fondly remember the old Abbott and Costello routine “Two Tens For A Five.” Fondly, because the routine was funny, but also because fifty years ago it was just a comedy routine and not government policy. Two tens for a five would be a huge improvement over what’s actually happened:
The Federal government borrowed and spent $5.1 trillion over the past four years to generate a cumulative $700 billion increase in the nation’s GDP. That means we’ve borrowed and spent $7.28 for every $1 of nominal “growth” in GDP.
We hate bad-news good-news jokes, especially when the punch line is “there is no good news.” This is one of those occasions:
In constant dollars, GDP is flat: we got no growth at all for our $5.1 trillion: zip, zero, nada. In constant dollars, the GDP in 2011 might return to the 2007 level, if the economy continues “growing” at the same pace reached in the first three months of 2011. If not, then the GDP will actually be lower than pre-recession levels.
We’re glad to find out it wasn’t just our imagination that last year’s vaunted “Recovery Summer” seemed like a typical summer in Anchorage – both lasted about a day. And we have noticed the “unexpected” change in the Democrat and media (yes, still the same thing) rhetoric from “good times are a’ comin” to “things could be worse.”
Unfortunately, we are compelled to add “and thanks to that mountain of useless debt, they will be.”
Apparently the makers of this product expect you to believe that it will turn you from a fat black woman to a slightly less fat white woman.
Let’s just call this weight loss ad what it is – the worst ad of the year. Apparently the makers of this product expect you to believe that it will turn you from a fat black woman to a slightly less fat white woman.
Actress Sigoruney Weaver explaining how global warming discriminates against some very unexpected victims: women.
We try to give you an amusing take on the day’s news here at IHateTheMedia.com. Sometimes we’re funny, and sometimes we’re not.
But the simple fact of the matter is that nothing we sweat bullets to create can possibly compare to the unintentionally funny crap that comes from the mouths of Hollyweirdos.
Sigourney Weaver: Still kind of hot, still completely nuts
Take, for example, actress Sigoruney Weaver explaining how global warming discriminates against some very unexpected victims:
Over the past month, I have been speaking to women in Canada and the American Midwest about a powerful force that discriminates against us. I am not talking about the glass ceiling or sexists bosses, although we all know those still exist. I am talking about climate change.
You might think that a force as sweeping as global warming would be an equal opportunity threat: that it would endanger men and women alike. But the fact is climate change exacts a heavier toll on women.
Women produce up to 80 percent of the food in the developing world. Drought and unpredictable rains brought on by climate change will make this work far more precarious. Women will have to labor harder and longer to ensure their families have food, fuel, and water…
Far be it from us to express a strong opinion, but that Alien chick is nuttier than Aunt Dodie’s fruitcake.
Fresh off an appearance on Iranian television, the lunatic and former Congresswoman from Georgia appeared on Libyan television to announce that Gaddafi’s “Green Book Socialism” could cure all America’s ills.
Quick. Can you think of anything this woman has ever said that wasn’t (a) anti-American, (b) nutty, or (c) both?
We can’t. But perhaps you’re smarter than we are or perhaps you have a better memory than we do or perhaps you’re just as whacked out McKinney is.
Fresh off an appearance on Iranian television, the lunatic and former Congresswoman from Georgia Cynthia McKinney appeared on Libyan television to announce that Gaddafi’s “Green Book Socialism” could cure all America’s ills.
Certain rebels currently operating outside Tripoli beg to differ.
In an age when foreclosures are rapidly becoming the norm, a Florida couple has literally reversed the trend by foreclosing on a bank. And not just any bank, but Bank of America.
This may be our favorite story of the day. In an age when foreclosures are rapidly becoming the norm, a Florida couple has literally reversed the trend by foreclosing on a bank. And not just any bank, but Bank of America.
Feel good story of the day: Warren Nyerges foreclosed on Bank of America
WINK-TV has the story:
The foreclosure nightmare started when Warren and Maureen Nyerges paid cash for a home owned by Bank of America in the Golden Gate Estates. They never had a mortgage whatsoever. But, the bank fouled it up and wound up issuing a foreclosure through their attorney.
The couple took their case to court and after a year and a half nightmare the foreclosure was dropped. A Collier County judge said Bank of America has to pay the couple’s $2,534 legal fees for the error. After more than five months the bank still hadn’t paid up. So, the homeowners’ attorney did just what the bank would do to get their money, legally seize their assets.
“I instructed the deputy to go in and take desks, computers, copiers, filing cabinets, including cash in the drawers,” Attorney Todd Allen told WINK News….
Allen says the manager was visibly shaken, “Having two Sheriff’s deputies sitting across your desk, and a lawyer standing behind them, demanding whatever assets are in the bank can be intimidating. But, so is having your home foreclosed on when it wasn’t right.”
After about an hour the bank finally cut a check to satisfy the debt, and no furniture was taken….
Don’t you kind of wish you could have been there to see it all go down?
President Obama’s solicitor general told a federal appeals court that Americans who didn’t like the individual mandate could always avoid it by choosing to earn less money.
Besides being a ridiculous bureaucratic monstrosity destined to fail, one thing we’ve always found troublesome about ObamaCare is its individual mandate provision. Now there’s good news: a way to avoid the mandate which is so easy, one need do nothing at all!
Neal Kumar Katyal: From the halls of academe to the halls of stupidite
The Washington Examiner reveals the details:
[Neal Kumar Katyal] President Obama’s solicitor general, defending the national health care law on Wednesday, told a federal appeals court that Americans who didn’t like the individual mandate could always avoid it by choosing to earn less money.
You’re probably asking “Why didn’t I think of that?” We posited this would also be a foolproof way to avoid taxes. But, as usual, there is a catch….
The so-called “hardship exemption” in the health care law is limited, and only applies to people who cannot obtain insurance for less than 8 percent of their income. So earning less isn’t necessarily a solution, because it could then qualify the person for government-subsidized insurance which could make their contribution to premiums fall below the 8 percent threshold.
No problem. ObamaCare is driving premiums up and Obama’s economy is driving wages and employment down. Shortly, everyone financially south of Donald Trump will be exempt.
But what would happen if large numbers of folks employed this tactic? Wouldn’t that cause economic calamity? Well, more economic calamity? And with the economic pie shriveling, who’s gonna pay for all those subsidies? Perhaps we’ve stumbled upon a flaw in Obamacare and socialism in general.
And for once it wasn’t Joe Biden who inadvertently blurted out the truth.
Based on our cursory reading of this study, it appears that his last name set Anthony Weiner on an inescapable path to be a complete dick.
Well, this explains it all, doesn’t it? The name your parents give you determines how you are viewed by others and what they will expect of you.
Based on our cursory reading of this study, it appears that his last name set Anthony Weiner on an inescapable path to be a complete dick.
Scientific proof: When your name is Weiner, people expect you to be a dick
Live Science has the penile particulars:
“The name you give your kid is sort of a proxy for a whole bunch of things in our culture,” study researcher John Waggoner of Bloomberg University of Pennsylvania told LiveScience. Names have been linked to many life choices, including what kind of work people do and how they donate to charity.
The study looked into whether people’s names affect what others expect of them.
The researchers asked a group of 89 undergraduate students (about half of whom were prospective teachers) to guess, on a scale of 1 (“not very successful”) to 10 (“very successful”) how they thought a student with a certain name would perform academically.
Participants tended to judge those with names that have been correlated with lower maternal education and socioeconomic status as low educational achievers, compared with the possessors of higher-status names.
“What future teachers expect is that Cody will do a lot worse in school, relatively, than Benjamin and Samuel,” Waggoner said. “The more things you have going for you, the better people expect you to do.”
Our interpretation: You cannot run from your fate. The name Weiner is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Unfortunately, this sets up a brand new category of Democrat victimhood: Namists.
“I can’t help being a complete tool. It’s my parents’ fault.”
The Richmond Federal Reserve Bank’s attempt to show inclusiveness in the workplace by flying the rainbow flag outside its building has reignited a divisive gay-rights debate.
We here at IHateTheMedia.com try to live by a philosophy best captured in ancient and time honored rhyme:
If you want to get funky, please feel free
Just don’t spread that funk on me
The Fed is inclusive: They're going to destroy all of us
The Federal Reserve of Virginia has decided to let its freaky flag fly just a bit higher than we fly ours. It’s a decision that has caused a bit of a flap.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch runs it up the flagpole for us:
The Richmond Federal Reserve Bank’s attempt to show inclusiveness in the workplace by flying the rainbow flag outside its building has reignited a divisive gay-rights debate.
Del. Robert G. Marshall, R-Prince William, is calling on the bank to remove the flag, terming its presence “a serious deficiency of judgment by your organization, one not limited to social issues.”
Far be it from us to tell this supposedly non-governmental agency how to conduct its affairs. Not even if it does exercise a large amount of control over our economy and, therefore, our lives. But if the Fed must fly a flag might we suggest the white one? Especially when it comes to any number of their inflation inducing policies.
PS – We would like to clarify our reason for suggesting the Fed fly a white flag. It is not, as some trolls might have you believe, because we are racist. It is because this flag has traditionally been associated with surrender. Were we more cultured and euro-centric we might have suggested the drapeau tricolore instead. Thankfully we are not.
Down in St. Landers Parish, just outside Lafayette, Louisiana, someone has carved a “crop circle” that is not complementary to President Obama. Not favorable at all.
Down in St. Landers Parish, just outside Lafayette, Louisiana, someone has carved a “crop circle” with two not so kind words for President Obama. We say “someone” but who knows? It may just as well be “something” because we’re pretty sure Obama’s pissed off the entire universe at this point.
No one’s stepping forward to take blame (nor credit) for the horrible descecration, this thoughtless crime, this farmland folly.
But we do know one thing: If it had said the same thing about Bush instead of Obama, the artist would undoubtedly be eligible for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Here’s how you can see the artwork yourself, right from Google Maps: Just start clicking on the zoom button (the + sign, and only the plus sign) in the upper left corner of the embedded map below, until you close in on the crop circle.
Better look quickly, before the Google Maps department pulls out their Photoshop expert.

The clowns in Brussels decided to free up a little cash to promote similar success in the United States. And when we say “a little cash” we mean thirty million smackers a year.
The European Union, the political pipedream of one world European socialists, is a joke. It’s falling apart socially and economically. Nevertheless, the clowns in Brussels decided to free up a little cash to promote similar success in the United States. And when we say “a little cash” we mean thirty million smackers a year.
The Daily Mail UK has the story:
All together now: "We are the world, we are the children..."
The EU Human Rights Fund is intended to help promote Western values in the developing world. But a shock report has found at least £17million of cash – around £2million from British taxpayers’ – has been ploughed into promoting the pet causes of Eurocrats in the U.S.
It is being spent on promoting abolition of the death penalty, discussion of climate change, green energy, and the International Criminal Court – all controversial subjects in the U.S.
The study by the Heritage Foundation, a centre-right Washington think-tank, found a further £4million has been ploughed into pro-EU propaganda in the U.S., including funds for advertising and publicity material.
More than £3million has been funnelled to American universities to promote the benefits of European integration and a further £3million to think-tanks who want to study EU affairs.
The European Commission’s own accounts show millions have also been paid to unnamed individual opinion formers in the U.S.
The report’s British author Sally McNamara said: ‘It is impossible to justify EU human rights budgets being spent in one of the world’s freest nations.’
Tory MP Douglas Carswell said: ‘The U.S. was founded by North Americans fed up with Europeans interfering in its internal affairs.
Just think, if these efforts are successful the United States can look forward to having the freedom of speech of the Dutch, the well-integrated Muslim population of the French, the ingenius political system of the Italians and the economy of the Greeks.
There have been a number of stories linking the name Jack Kevorkian with deaths. And now, after 83 years, we come to a story where the death detailed is his own.
There have been a number of stories linking the name Jack Kevorkian with deaths. And now, after 83 years, we come to a story where the death detailed is his own.
We found this story, in both name and sentiment, at Yahoo:
Dr. Death has left the waiting room
Jack Kevorkian, the retired pathologist who captured the world’s attention as he helped dozens of ailing people commit suicide, igniting intense debate and ending up in prison for murder, has died in a Detroit area hospital after a short illness. He was 83.
Kevorkian, who said he helped some 130 people end their lives from 1990 to 1999, died about 2:30 a.m. at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, close friend and prominent attorney Mayer Morganroth said.
He had been hospitalized since last month with pneumonia and kidney problems, Morganroth said.
An official cause of death had not been determined, but Morganroth said it likely will be pulmonary thrombosis.
News of the man’s passing is hardly likely to dampen the debate or the controversy that has surrounded this figure for so long. Some will see him as a man of deep compassion. Others will believe him to be Dr. Death and little more than the world’s most famous psychopathologist.
Either way one thing is certain. He was very good at the mechanics of what he did. And when the time came Jack Kervorkian required no assistance in the ending of the life that was his own.
David Martines was playing with Google Mars when he stumbled across something that is absolutely inexplicable – a structure that is 700′ x 150′.
This is not the kind of story we typically cover at IHateTheMedia.com, but we’re making an exception because THIS IS FREAKIN’ STRANGE.
David Martines was playing with Google Mars when he stumbled across something that is absolutely inexplicable.
Let’s let David describe it:
“This structure is 700′ x 150′, and is colored white with blue and red stripes against the red Martian soil. This is not a rock or mountain. It is a manufactured structure. This is not something that I created, this is something that is currently on Google Mars. NASA won’t talk to me about it. I’ve sent them a few emails, and no reply. Go see for yourself. The coordinates are: 71 49’19.73″N 29 33’06.53″W.”
Watch the video and you’ll say the same thing we did:
WTF? What the F-in’ F?

Update: If you’re into discoveries found on Google Earth, you’ll might find it interesting to zoom in on this anti-obama crop circle in Louisiana.
Obama told the automakers “that the recovering U.S. economy took a hit that even a Jeep Wrangler couldn’t rebound from quickly.” Didn’t go over well.
Know your audience. That’s the basic rule of public speaking that President Obama violated in Toledo on Friday.
He told a audience of autoworkers who build the Jeep Wrangler “…that the recovering U.S. economy took a hit that even a Jeep Wrangler couldn’t rebound from quickly.”
He hasn’t dropped a bomb this big in Libya.
But putting his lousy joke aside, does it not appear that his Teleprompter isn’t working? He’s delivering his remarks with the same hesitance and awkwardness that are usually the hallmarks of a recalcitrant TOTUS.
So why did we bury Obama bin Laden at sea? Was it in accordance with strict Islamic law? Some Islamic scholars say it violates Islamic tradition. This video explains it all.
We’ve been told that Osama Bin Laden was buried at sea in accordance with strict Islamic law. Unfortunately, many Islamic scholars contend that such a burial actually violates Islamic tradition.
That sound you hear is the ACLU howling in protest. Florida Governor Rick Scott, a Republican, just signed a bill that requires welfare applicants to get drug tested.
That sound you hear is the ACLU howling in protest. Florida Governor Rick Scott, a Republican, just signed a bill that requires welfare applicants to get drug tested. The theory behind it is that if taxpayers are required to get drug tested at work, then the people supported by their tax dollars should be required to meet the same strict standards. Seems fair to us.
Congratulations, Mr. Smith. You're not a drug addict, so you can now be a leech.
CBS Miami has the pee particulars:
The bill also requires that those who apply for welfare must pay for the drug testing out of their own pockets. However, the cost would be reimbursed if the person passes the drug test.
Republicans said the measure was needed because if taxpayers are screened at their place of employment, so should welfare recipients. The drug testing bill was a priority for Scott.
“While there are certainly legitimate needs for public assistance, it is unfair for Florida taxpayers to subsidize drug addiction,” Governor Scott said. “This new law will encourage personal accountability and will help to prevent the misuse of tax dollars.”
Next stop? We say candidates for political office should also be drug tested.
Overuse of controlled substances may be the only way to explain Democrat policies.
Gennette Cordova, the Seattle college girl embroiled in WeinerGate, has a really interesting theory on what really happened.
Gennette Cordova, the Seattle college girl embroiled in WeinerGate, has a really interesting theory on what really happened. And it veers dangerously close to throwing the man she once called her “boyfriend” under the bus.
Was porn star Ginger Lee really the intended recipient of Anthony Weiner's weiner photo?
The New York Post has the intimate inside information:
Cordova thinks the package-hugging picture — which Weiner “can’t say with certitude” isn’t his — was meant for somebody else and landed in her Twitter account by mistake.
Cordova is one of 198 people, many of them young, beautiful women, whom Weiner follows on Twitter.
Until recently, the congressman also followed stripper and porn actress Ginger Lee, 28, who openly gushes about her “Mr. Sexy Congressman” on social-network sites.
“Her name is Ginger — it makes sense he might have mixed us up,” Cordova said, noting that two of the first three letters of their names are the same.
The co-ed has a pretty good theory. The idea that Weiner accidentally sent the photo of his junk to Cordova while attempting to send it to a porn star makes far more sense than any of the other stupid stories Weiner’s floated in the last few days.
OK, so John Edwards finally got indicted. We’re not really sure if we should care about this story or not.
OK, so John Edwards finally got indicted. We’re not really sure if we should care about this story or not.
On one hand, no one cares about John Edwards anymore. At least we don’t. On the other hand, we don’t mind admitting that schadenfreude occasionally rears its ugly head here at IHTM and this is one of those occasions. We kind of enjoy seeing the biggest prick this side of Anthony Weiner’s underwear getting his comeuppance.
That's not what Rielle said, Johnny.
So as far as we’re concerned the only real news here – at least to us – is John Edwards’ real, full name:
A federal grand jury has indicted two-time presidential candidate John Edwards over massive sums of money spent to keep his mistress in hiding during the peak of his 2008 campaign for the White House.
The case of USA v. Johnny Reid Edwards contains six counts, including conspiracy, four counts of illegal campaign contributions and one count of false statements. The indictment was returned in the Middle District of North Carolina Friday.
Johnny Reid Edwards? His real name is Johnny and nickname is John? That’s backwards. But we shouldn’t be surprised because everything is backwards about this degenerate loser.
Such is his legacy.
Just for old times sake, here’s the other part of Edwards’ tattered legacy:
For god’s sake, who was in charge of Harry Reid this week? Whoever it was screwed up by letting him read today’s jobs report and then by letting him get in front of a microphone again.
For god’s sake, who was in charge of Harry Reid this week? Whoever it was screwed up by letting him read today’s jobs report and then by letting him get in front of a microphone again.
First, today’s miserable jobs report, followed by the addled old coot’s reaction to it:
Employers in May added the fewest jobs in eight months, and the unemployment rate inched up to 9.1 percent. The weakening job market raised concerns about an economy hampered by gas prices and the Japanese nuclear disaster.
The key question is whether the meager 54,000 jobs added last month mark a temporary setback or are evidence of a more chronic problem. That total is far lower than the previous three months’ average of 220,000 new jobs per month.
White House correspondent Mark Knoller tweeted poor ol’ Harry’s demented response to a rise in the unemployment rate and a slowdown in hiring:
What the hell were you people in Nevada thinking last November?
Let this be a warning. If you value your life, do not piss off a Gurkha soldier. Corporal Dipprasad Pun single-handedly opened a can of whoop ass on 30 Taliban soldiers and has been awarded Britain’s second highest honor, the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, for his heroics.
The Taliban's biggest mistake was not bringing along some Kryptonite
The Daily Mail UK tells the remarkable story:
… The soldier fired more than 400 rounds, launched 17 grenades and detonated a mine to thwart the Taliban assault on his checkpoint near Babaji in Helmand Province, southern Afghanistan, last September.
… Defending the base from the roof, the Gurkha remained under continuous attack from rocket-propelled grenades and AK47s for more than a quarter of an hour.
Most of the militants were about 50ft away from him, but at one point he turned around to see a ‘huge’ Taliban fighter looming over him.
The soldier picked up his machine gun and fired a long burst at the man until he fell off the roof.
When another insurgent tried to climb up to his position, the Gurkha attempted to shoot him with his SA80 rifle. But it did not work, either because it had jammed or because the magazine was empty.
He first grabbed a sandbag but it had not been tied up and the contents fell to the floor.
Then he seized the metal tripod of his machine gun and threw it at the approaching Taliban militant, shouting in Nepali ‘Marchu talai’ (‘I will kill you’) and knocking him down.
Two insurgents were still attacking by the time the heroic Gurkha had used up all his ammunition, but he set off a Claymore mine to repel them.
Remarkable. And we love the name of the award. The Conspicuous Gallentry Cross. Sounds so very, very British, doesn’t it?
“Pip, pip, cheerio. I’ve just killed 30 of those pesky Taliban chaps. Care for a spot of tea?”

Here’s ol’ Charlie spouting Keynesian nonsense (pardon our redundancy) with Judge Andrew Napolitano on Fox News.
“We have to really cut back in our spending,” Charlie said. “Everyone knows that, and we have to raise revenue in order to do it.”
Sit back and read that sentence again. Luxuriate in its utter stupidity. Swim in its ignorance.
