Oh great, now he’s pissed off the Poles. While awarding a posthumous Medal of Freedom to Polish professor Jan Karski, a hero of the anti-Nazi resistance, President Obama referred to “Polish death camps.” The Poles are understandably miffed and many of them are wondering how the president got through college without reading a history book. We’ve been wondering the same thing, Poland, trust us.

We were much better off when Barry just smoked poles instead of insisting on insulting them.

Sorry angry Polish citizens, the leader of the Free World only apologizes to our enemies.

Maybe Obama was out smokin’ with the Choom Gang when his world history class covered the Holocaust.

Afterwards, the White House (note: NOT Obama) was caught off guard and “apologized” saying the President “misspoke.” He was reading off a teleprompter!!! The was a no “misspoken” words–someone wrote them for him! I can’t wait for November….

Too many bong hits evidently has the same effect as too much polish vodka.

All of this from the worlds smartest man, what a dumb shit. Those representing the Polish Government should have gotten up and left right then and there. That would’ve gotten the message home.

No it wouldn’t. He would just have figured they left because someone farted.

Then he would have mentioned it to the MSM and the headline would have been “President Stands Ground Under Poison Gas Attack”.

This Debbie Schlussel is pretty cute, but does she really believe that Obama’s mention of Polish death camps was referring to real camps, or was it just that Biden was operating the TelePrompter that day?

Debbie is pretty sharp, I don’t think she’s go off on an unsubstantianted rant. She was a regular contributor on the Mike Church Show on Sirius Satellite Radio. I haven’t had Sirius for almost 2 years now, and miss him and Andrew Wilkow.

Check this out:
VERY Impressive!

But this time she is off-base, perhaps blinded by her own family’s bitter memories. Here is the completely-opposite take on being Jewish in Poland from another descendant of Polish Jews: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/05/30/poland-insult.html

Bottom line, while there were Nazi collaborators in every country the Nazis conquered, blaming the Holocaust on Poles is a stretch, and doesn’t in any way excuse the president’s gaffe. He insulted Poland at an official function with Polish officials in attendance. That’s plain ol’ stupid.

Well she’s got a set of balls on her, but it’s the internet, I guess we all do. It’s amazing how the left will distort anything and everything when it makes Obama look like an idiot.

She should look up all the Poles that died in the September Campaign (and subsequent battles), without an ally in the world to help them. Or all the non-Jewish Poles that died in concentration camps.

Imagine being Polish at the time of WW2. Your country was wiped off the map for 120 years, finally get it back after WW1, get 20 years of having a country, then it’s wiped of the map AGAIN.

Does her family have a long and violent history in that area of the world, ya, I won’t doubt her on that. But to blame the Poles, I don’t think any of those Jewish deaths would have happened if the Nazi’s and Soviet’s didn’t invade.

Actually it’s quite amazing if you think about it. In 1795ish Poland signed the second Constitution in the world (behind the US of course), and got invaded by it’s despot neighbors, and subsequently was no longer in existence. About 130 years later, to the left of Poland would be the Nazi’s and to the right of Poland would be the Soviets, and sure enough… invaded again. We in America should thank God for the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans. Some people who try to be free don’t have the same fortune.

Hmmm, interesting. I guess I’d have to say she’s a racist then (I don’t call people racist lightly). I have a cousin who was stabbed by a black person once, since then he doesn’t say a kind word about black people and goes out of his way to insult them, you know what that makes him, a racist. I think that is a good analogy. She was scorned apparently by “Polish death camps” and now goes out of her way to accuse all Poles of being Jew haters. I’d say both circumstances are equivalent. In both circumstances it’s a person accusing an entire people of the sins a few committed. Both must clearly be of small mind.

Am I wrong? Does that analogy make sense?

Also when someone says “Yes, it is laughable that the Poles, Rush Limbaugh, self-hating Jew Matt Drudge, and a gazillion Republicans and incredibly obtuse and ignorant members of the lumpenconservatariat…” That sounds like liberal speak to me. Maybe she is trying to be like Savage when he talks about Fox News, but she doesn’t pull it off. Reminds me more of a Meghan McCain.

I agree with Joe – Debbie acting like a racist due to prior circumstances, apparently what she was told by her parents. There’s nothing but hate for Poles steeped in her post, how does she expect people to react? There were a hundred other, less volatile, ways she could have argued her point. Then she calls people Jew haters because they react to her. I don’t think she is stupid, but she’s being very immature right now. Her hatred for Poles sounds no different than the Nazi hatred for Jews. “That race is to blame, they’re at fault for all our family’s problems.” That kind of thinking never gets anyone anywhere, it didn’t get the Nazis very far.

People aren’t given a choice for which race they’re born into. People are given a choice for which faction they join, (like the Nazi one) but there are events that can make that a hard choice to avoid. (like being born to a poor family in germany) However it’s at least a bit more accurate to paint a target for a deed being done on a faction, than the people as a whole.

Otherwise we might as well paint it on the backs of all mankind, the people who killed Jews were human weren’t they? Let’s blame all of humanity. Really now.

It really has nothing to do with her being left or right, she’s just got a lot of animosity because the poles didn’t help her particular family at all. To the point that she goes out of her way to belittle the efforts of good Polish citizens as being a rare circumstance. She even edited one person’s post to bite back at them for talking about their Jew friendly adoptive Polish grandparents, but ignores the fact that she did indeed discredit them by saying they were the minority then attacking Poles as a whole. In effect hating on that minority as well.

America, England, France, and all the other countries that helped fight germany had citizens who believed in the Nazi party. If the Nazis would have actually taken over England or America, I think there would have been plenty of self serving sympathizers to go around building Nazi ghettos for Hitler. Are we going to hate on all of America and England just because of a few people? Of course not. The majority of Germans sided with the Nazi party, but were there no good Germans? Humans have a choice when it comes to their own actions, and the Germans had that same choice. While most germans sided with Hitler for obvious reasons, and most people against him left prior to the war, there were good anti Nazi Germans still in germany during the war.

Large groups of people from many eastern European nations supported the Nazi war effort after the Nazis invaded their country. Often these people weren’t anti Jewish any more then they were aryan blonds. They were people who wanted to in turn defend their homeland from what -they- saw, based on their knowledge of events, as a greater evil – starvation and enslavement under the USSR.

People were also often more willing to do things based on greed than loyalty, but that doesn’t make the whole of the people bad. Greed and selfishness are a very basic and prominent parts of human nature. The neighbor who was going to turn her grandfather in was probably just a very base person. People who owe other’s money and never intend to pay are generally only out for themselves. The grandfather probably knew this when he took the chance, but he had little else as far as choice went. If we are to judge all Poles by that man’s character, then we would also need to judge all lovers of whiskey as Fascists. It’s really an illogical train of thought.

The point she tries to make is hampered by the fact that her evidence has little to do with the Polish nation, and a lot more to do with human indecency as a whole. Indecency her family saw, and she still harbors anger for.
