So how’s Michelle Obama doing on that childhood obesity thing? She planted the White House garden and started addressing childhood obesity in February of 2009, then started the government-funded Let’s Move! campaign in February of 2010. Now two studies report the results: oops, the kids are just as fat.

Studies show there has been a slight increase in obesity. OK. So it proves AGAIN that the OBAMAS are only good for bankrupting the nation, fattening kids up even though Mooch-EL prefers they eat her chosen garbage and indoctrinate us into socialism. Ain’t gonna happen. This couple should be listed in the dictionary under FAILURES.

Yes — but the study doesn’t show how much worse childhood obesity would have been without Let’s Move! With the Obama’s, it’s all just like the Stimulus!!

I guess the kids followed Moochelle’s lead and after they exercised, they ran down to get a Shack Burger, Shack Shake, and Fries.

Gee, I guess the results of the study show that you Obamaphobes were WRONG—-that she ISN’T “forcing” kids to eat a low fat diet.

I have to laugh, though, at the insinuation here, that you guys somehow expected radical changes in childhood obesity trends across the US, just because the First Lady chose to address this problem. Did you taunt Barbara and Laura Bush, for failing to make a significant difference in the illiteracy rate during their time as First Ladies? :D

I think the point you’re missing here is that the Bush women were both educated and pushing education. Where Mooshie fails is she has a big ass and is trying to tell others they need to lean out their children. Don’t get me wrong, I’m behind her 100% on fighting obesity, I just think she should lead by example like the Bush wives did. Instead we get another Obama “do as I say, not as I do” message. Hypocrisy and double standards, the trademarks of liberalism.

I think the point you’re missing here is that the Bush women were both educated and pushing education.
********************
And Michelle Obama is physically fit, and pushing physical fitness. OHMYGOD HOW DARE SHE DO THAT!!!!!!
********************
Where Mooshie fails is she has a big ass and is trying to tell others they need to lean out their children.
******************
When has Michelle Obama told anyone “they need to lean out their children”? Got a direct quote of that?
******************
Don’t get me wrong, I’m behind her 100% on fighting obesity, I just think she should lead by example like the Bush wives did.
*******************
Actually, she does, but her regular exercise and dietary habits don’t tend to be covered by your favorite Obamaphobic propaganda outlets.

So, when she’s photographed eating a French fry, the right wing media screams endlessly about it, until their gullible viewers assume that those 500 pictures of her eating the same French fry are actually pictures of 500 different meals. When she’s photographed during her early morning treadmill routine, the right wing media totally ignores it. And, when she demonstrates goodwill abroad by stepping into a Botswana restaurant and buying some of the local specialty, the right wing media screams that she’s pigging down two high fat dinners, even though there’s no evidence of how much (if any) she actually ate of them.

I grant you that she has a derriere. Most women her age do, and that’s no disgrace, nor is it necessarily an indicator of obesity. First Ladies aren’t meant to be models or professional entertainers; they’re real women, with real shapes. And it’s just as ridiculous to argue that she shouldn’t be encouraging kids to get up and exercise unless she has a perfect figure, as it would be to argue that I’m not qualified to be a health care professional, because I sometimes get sick.

You can argue all you please, but it’s painfully obvious (especially from the childish insults about “Mooshie” and “big ass,” that you’re merely trying to discredit the Obamas, and using some pretty stupid excuses to do so.

I saw her on clips of that skit with Jimmy Fallon.. she seems pretty damn fit for a lady her age. Unlike many of her peers, she seems to have no backfat nor belly. She’s a tall women, and if she has hips then’s she’s going to have some booty-ish derriere, elsewise she’d have a mannish physique. My daughter and her friend both seemed to think it was great that the first lady was doing that skit, and that she whooped Fallon’s butt. I continue to not see the problem. As an Independent, all the anti-Flotus talk just looks vindictive (also, sadly, i could not caucus w Republicans in my state either, that might’ve been fun)

Nobody except you is missing a thing. You still don’t comprehend the difference between advocating and mandating.

At this point, I despair at helping you see.

I must have missed the part where Laura Bush had Congress pass a law telling kids what books to read.

I know the difference between advocating for something and mandating something is generally too subtle for liberals, but maybe if you’d partaken of the Bush literacy program you’d comprehend.

What, exactly, did Michelle Obama “mandate”?

What are you now being forced to do, or eat or refrain from eating, as a direct result of the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” initiative?

How could she have passed a “mandate,” when she isn’t a member of Congress, or any other branch of government?

Can you answer these questions, or are you now going to run and hide?

Typical liberal, you engage in a discussion without knowing a thing about the subject, then expect other people to bring you up to speed. There are new regulations from the USDA based upon Michelle’s Child Nutrition Bill which mandate what can be in school lunches, which has caused the children to simply stop eating by the way. That passed in 2010 and school cafeteria workers say they are throwing out tons of extra garbage. Now she’s underway on her new cause which is strong-arming the National Restaurant Association into changing their menus, and brow-beating grocery stores into lowering the prices on their fruits and vegetables. Just what we need, a communist setting prices. That always works out well, doesn’t it? Perhaps you’ve seen some of the news articles… oh what am I saying. You wouldn’t be asking me if you read news articles. Here: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/07/us/politics/07michelle.html

*****************
Michelle Obama isn’t a legislator. How, then, could she possibly introduce a “bill”?
Want to admit that maybe the bill was introduced by members of Congress, who agree with Michelle Obama that proper nutrition is necessary for children’s good health?
*****************
That passed in 2010 and school cafeteria workers say they are throwing out tons of extra garbage.
*****************
I don’t understand your point here, Travis. Are you trying to claim that Michelle Obama “mandated” that they throw out tons of extra garbage? Or that they have extra garbage to throw out because she “mandated” the school lunchroom menu? She’s not a school district administrator. How, then, could she have “mandated” that school district’s cafeteria menu?

While we’re on the subject of dumb assumptions, are you trying to claim that kids won’t eat ANY foods that are nutritious? As a parent, I know that that’s pure BS. Want to admit that maybe the school needs to look for more appetizing recipes, rather than arguing that Michelle Obama “mandated” this problem?
*******************
Now she’s underway on her new cause which is strong-arming the National Restaurant Association into changing their menus, and brow-beating grocery stores into lowering the prices on their fruits and vegetables. Just what we need, a communist setting prices.
*********************
And, again, she’s a First Lady, who holds no official government position. How, then, could she possibly “strong arm” the entire NRA into making changes that they don’t care to make?

Want to admit that she’s merely trying to INFLUENCE them to provide healthier options? To serve as an “advocate” for better affordable nutrition for kids?

(laughing at the very idea that speaking out freely in favor of good nutrition for kids is “communist”…….)
