Get ready to be surprised. Maybe even shocked. Back in 2005 Glenn Beck appeared on MSNBC’s Hardball to promote his book “The Real America: Messages from the Heart and Heartland.”

This was back in the days when Beck was still relatively unknown, long before his CNN TV show and when he still had relatively few affiliates in his radio network. It was also prior to MSNBC’s hard turn to the left.

The interesting thing about this interview is that Beck was still the same Beck we see today on Fox, but Matthews has changed completely.

You won’t believe it until you see it for yourself, and you may not even believe it then, but Matthews gushes over Beck. Repeatedly.

Going into a commercial break he says, “This guy’s a great guy, Glenn Beck. When I come to work really late I listen to the guy coming in to work. Glenn Beck.”

Later Matthews ends the interview by saying, “You’re great. I listen to your show all the time. I think you’re about 30 years older than you are. You’re amazingly smart for such a young guy.”

As Yid With Lid said, “The video below teaches us a little bit about who really has the courage of his convictions, versus who adapts his opinions to please management.”
