We’re not proud to admit this, but we agree with Bill Maher on something. Please do not hold this shameful admission against us. We beg you.
Last week it was revealed that the most popular boys’ name in England was Mohammed. Much to conservatives’ surprise and to liberals’ dismay, Maher said he was concerned about the “alarming” number of “baby Mohammeds” in England.
Wolf Blitzer interviewed the obnoxious HBO host and the CNN host just couldn’t believe that Maher actually said something so rational.
Much to our surprise, Maher didn’t back down. He said he sees no reason to “apologize for being a proud Westerner” or for being concerned that “Muslim people are in these [Western] societies“ having babies ”at a faster clip than non-Muslims.”
He called himself “someone who believes in the values that Western people believe in that a lot of the Muslim world does not, like separation of church and state…”
“I would like to keep those values here,” Maher said.
Why do we get the feeling that this is like that episode of Dallas where Pam finds Bobby in the shower and learns that the entire previous season was one long dream that never really happened.
