Black and Puerto Rican Association lawmakers chant “Tax the rich” during Cuomo speech

by editor on February 23, 2011

You know everything you need to know – absolutely everything – about the current state of New York politics when you learn that liberal Governor Andrew Cuomo is now considered an conservative extremist.

charles-barron

We suppose that Charles Barron's "Tax the rich" chant is an improvement over the 1960s chant of "Eat the rich."

The New York Daily News has the slant on the chant:

Gov. Cuomo’s speech on Sunday night to the Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators was interrupted with chants of “Tax the rich!” led by City Councilman Charles Barron.

Cuomo received a warm welcome as he began to address the group, but within moments Barron (D-Brooklyn) did a Kanye West and stole the spotlight.

“Shame on you,” Barron yelled at Cuomo after walking from the back of the Albany Convention Center to the front.

“Stop the cuts,” Barron said.

“How are you tonight, Charles?” Cuomo said to Barron after the interruption. “I can’t see who it is, but I know who it is.”

Barron, a known rabble-rouser, seized the moment, yelling, “Tax the rich!”

Soon the chant caught on with a small but vocal group in the crowd of more than 500.

Cuomo’s budget calls for deep cuts to education and health care spending to close the state’s $10 billion deficit. He also opposes extension of the state’s so-called millionaire’s tax, which expires at the end of the year.

Why, next thing you know they’ll have signs comparing Cuomo to Hitler. You know, the little moustaches, the hair down across the forehead, the little swastikas.

Give it a week or so. We’ll be the first to say, “We told you so.”

I’d like Bill Cosby’s opinion of this fool Barron.

New York already taxes the rich, it also taxes the middle class and the poor. It taxes everybody and everything. The state income tax is high, the real estate taxes are absurdly high, the friggin’ sales tax is through the roof and if you buy a pack of smokes don’t expect much change from a Hamilton.

Charles Barron is an imbecile, he’s so f***in’ stupid he couldn’t hold a job outside of government. Because of people like him, New York is just another dying state run by Democrats, just like California and Illinois.

New York’s biggest exports are retired people, college graduates and “the rich”—these people are fleeing the state in droves, the states population has been static the past fifty years even though the nation’s population has increased by a hundred million.

Take it from me, I used to live there.

The rich get taxed… and taxed. They are the most taxed people because they got money. What is he talking about? Fool.

You can’t tax what you can’t find. While the laws are inplace to tax the rich, and they do, there are also a mutitude of ways to hide that money in such a way as to not hve to pay tax on oit. Plus a great deal of money is in foreign accounts which cannot be taxed. Ever heard the phrase “the rich get richer?” This is one reason why. There are some billionaires who have paid NOTHING in tax for years. That fuels the flat tax arguments. No more hiding the money.

There are numerous shelters but many are voting with their feet due to the increased pressure from the governmedia. That is a good way to right this listing ship. Lots of bastions of liberal esteem are going to tumble soon. Conservatives tend to weather storms of this nature better. All the rich libs move to more comfortable economic climes and attempt to instill there corrupt ways in fertile territory.

So we should punish ALL rich people, because of the some or few that hide their money? Why can’t the government just go for those that try to hide their money (even if they are not rich) and not tax and tax and tax some more, the rest who do the right thing? And aren’t these billionaires and so on creating jobs for hundred of thousands perhaps even millions of people if not directly, indirectly? The cost of business is well costly and it is also taxed. So even if there is a minority who hide their PERSONAL wealth, their general business/capitalistic efforts are still taxed overall.

I do believe in flat tax for everyone from the top down and down up… That should take care of A LOT OF ISSUES but greedy people will be greedy people no matter what and there, will still be people who want to hide their money from the flat tax and hence it is what it is. What the govt then will do is just go after THOSE people instead of increasing taxes on everyone because of the few that don’t want to pay taxes.
Also what about those that aren’t rich but still do not pay taxes or hide their money? Greedy people are part of any socio-economic stratosphere. Flat tax is definetly a solution and then just making sure to go for those that are not paying taxes and leave the rest alone.

I don’t hate rich people nor begrudge what they earn nor even fault them from trying to hide their personal wealth as much as possible from the government to tell you the truth as long as they are not Madoffing people. Why? Because I have never had a job from a poor person. Only people with money are capable of paying me for my services and efforts. Now I believe in paying Caesar what is due to Caesar and everyone should do the same. I don’t believe in greedy people, but I also don’t believe in greedy govt, there are always two sides of every story.

Barron has no intention of taxing the rich.

The rich don’t get taxed. Income earners get taxed.

That’s really the problem. That’s why the Kennedys can live generations off the spoils of Prohibition while the rest of us find accumulating wealth is like approaching the speed of light, it can’t be done. The more we earn, the more they take.

And what do they do with it when they take it? Ironically, they squander the fruits of our labor on some handout that the Kennedys dreamed up.

Rich people are income earners as well. You are confusing trust fund babies with people who are self made which in all reality form the majority of the rich. Most of the so called rich at least by Obama’s standards are actually small business entrepreneurs. Even trust fund babies must pay taxes on income earned through any type of investments. Whenever someone dies the family pay taxes on the estate. Regardless of who they are and how they became rich if they hire people, they pay taxes, if they buy something, they pay taxes. They expand their businesses? Taxes. Buy that swimming pool? Taxes. Buy that boat? Taxes. So do I and so do you and so does everyone else. Well I dont have a boat but you know what I mean. Overall the minority that do not want to pay taxes are a**holes, but it is what it is because we live in a real human world, and the govt can go after them without making the rest of rich/income earning people pay through the nose.

I am not into class warfare because I know like someone else said that if I work hard and I put my back into it I will be able to earn as much as I can possibly earn in this life so I don’t begrudge those who are trust fund babies because my children could be trust fund babies too. Gone are the days where people accumulated wealth and it pretty much stays in the hands of very few families in the country for generation. People can mobilize upwards just as fine as the next individual.

Now we agree the government is disgusting and yes they should not take my money thinkint they deserve most of it and I get the rest. That is disgusting and it needs to stop and I do agree with the flat tax, but if we are looking for perfection where everyone pays it is not going to happen but that is what the laws and law enforcement are for.

Good. After we take Oprah Winfrey’s money we can go after Michael Jackson’s estate and family, then we’ll move on to those millionaire NBA athletes and take all their money, Franklin Raines should be forced to return the $90 million he ripped off from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, and lastly we take Hollywood’s money, especially Danny Glover’s.

Yes indeed… I’ve always found it curious that the libtard/progs have such a hard-on for taxing people who have done legitimate hard work to gain their wealth, but always seem to exclude taxation of the millionaires, billionaires, & multi-millionaires who made their wealth by merely “entertaining”, or worse, through crime.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add millionaires, billionaires, & multi-millionaires who made their wealth by way of politics…. Obongo “book deal” anyone?

Anyone that has to hyphonize their nationality, is that a word? Hyphonize? Anyway, anyone who says they are African-American, Puerto Rican-American, Irish-American, Mexican-American, Chinese-American, Redneck-American, any kind of American other than just plain old American citizen, irritate me and they have no right to say anything about how our country is run.

Amen Whiskey! In my book You’re either American Period, or not American… and anyone who claims to be a citizen of our country yet feels the need to hyphenate their nationality is neither American nor are they whatever nationality/ethnicity they are attempting to associate themselves with, but rather traitors to both.

Since I am waxing eloquent tonight, the result of more than a few beers, I feel the same way about women who are ashamed of their husbands name so they use both last names. You know, like Ruth Bader-Ginsberg or Sandra Day-O’Conner to name a couple.

I don’t trust any woman that has to use her maiden name hyphonized with her husbands last name. Have we made it a word yet DeanH!

Hyphonize? Absolutely not. Hyphenate, now that’s what you’re looking for. Normally I would not say a thing, but you asked! I’d use hyphenize, non-word that it is, myself for fun and to impress people with my giant wordbag.

I think you got this right but getting verification is beyond my concern. Maybe a c works in the “…doscious” but who knows? Not me. Never saw the movie it was created for. Never read the book. Don’t remember the name. Early 60s. Disney? Who cares? Oystersoupkitchenfloorwaxpapertowelfoldingtableofelements.

hy·phen·ize
[hahy-fuh-nahyz]
–verb (used with object), -ized, -iz·ing.
hyphenate.

Also, especially British , hy·phen·ise .

Origin:
1850–55; hyphen + -ize

—Related forms
hy·phen·i·za·tion, noun Hyphenize: Ebonic version of the English language word Hyphenated. A pandemic of political correctness gone seriously awry, due to the pussification of America.

A hyphenated American is anyone who takes up space on American soil who isn’t white. Since one can no longer used terms like black, Negro, Chinaman, etc. we now have to say things like African-American, Mexican-American, Hispanic-American, Chinese-American, etc. ad-nauseam.

This phenomenon exists ironically despite the fact that all those people are still Americans, and only Americans! How can you be African and American? You can’t. You’re either African or American, not both. You can however be a black American (like a white American).

Of course, only non-whites can be hyphenated Americans, because white Americans are simply called Americans, no other term applies.

Where’s the check box for American-American?

I take offence to your allegation that I am not an American just because I am white. I am a Homogenized-American and proud of it!

Now it is time for me to go. Drunk driving is against the law and one of these days drunk posting will be too. It took me three times to type this response so I know it time to get off the highway.

God bless America and the men and women who protect our freedoms!!

Hyphonics anyone? I see an ‘o’ in thar! A woid is a woid. Hyphenize to your hearts content! It is an in-vig-or-8-ing exercize, or exercise. Now don’t go exorcising when you want only to break a sweat…

I guess those assholes forgot that NY has a “Millionaires Tax” and they tax the hell out of the rich-which is why the rich have all left-and is why the last of them are leaving-which is ultimately why their taxes are going to go up! IDIOTS!

It’s always such fun to watch dopey libruls go after another dopey librul. Barron is a black nationalist, racists who couldn’t get elected any where else but his district or up in harlem. To say he’s a radical, is a understatement.

Having said that…..Cuomo since taking office has really surprised me with the positions he has taken. With much angst of the dimocrapts.

Let’s see how long Cuomo will be able to hold out against his own party.
