CNN host apologizes for using the C-word on the air

by editor on January 19, 2011

No, not that C-word. A completely different C-word. One that had never required an apology until ten days ago.

CNN’s John King:

“Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race just a moment ago. My friend Andy Shaw used the term ‘in the crosshairs’ in talking about the candidates. We’re trying, we’re trying to get away from that language. Andy is a good friend, he’s covered politics for a long time, but we’re trying to get away from that kind of language. We won’t always be perfect. So hold us accountable when we don’t meet your standards.”

As you can see in this 1986 commercial, such violent rhetoric is nothing new at CNN. To the best of our knowledge, every CNN star in this commercial for “Crossfire” was assassinated because their participation in a show with such a violent name and for contributing to the nation’s violent discourse.

I was born in the 50s, so here goes. Lock and load, people.

Been doing that since I was a young’un. Still get a hankering for elk meat every year but it is hard to get a permit these days unless you got a couple thousand dollars to bid against some Texan that wants the horns for his trophy wall.

Okay, since I grew up in the 1970s…I can say this…

That is so gay!

“we hate to offend people with everyday words, so we decided to Rename some TV shows for you..”
-history channel’s “sniper: inside the crosshairs” will now be called “specially-trained-military-person: near (but not in) the looking device”
-G4’s “attack of the show” will now be called “hugging-and-talking of the show”
On a related note “scope mouthwash” has changed their name to “please-god-don’t-let-this-name-be-politically-incorrect mouthwash”.

The “C” word isn’t nearly as offencive as the “L” word.

As a person who’s daily routine revolves around guns and shooting all this renewed anti-gun bullshit is extremely offensive to me, but for some strange reason the “L” people don’t seem very concerned if they offend us clingy astro-turfing rednecks.

CNN is shooting themselves in the foot. A noble deed if, by doing so, they encourage loonies off their meds to do the same instead of playing Rambo in a shopping center.

“shooting themselves in the foot”

Now, now, more gun language. Watch yourself.

I wonder if they’ll get around to telling Target stores to change their name? Just a thought.

After that, they will go after Bull’s Eye brand barbecue sauce.

John King, get over yourself! Nobody’s going to go out and slay someone because of YOU.

Agreed! Wouldn’t King need an audience first in order for them to be stirred into action of any sort?

Think of the movie “The Gang that Couldn’t Shoot Straight” (I think) with Don Knotts et al…

Rush Limbaugh just said that Wolf Blitzer needs to change his last name too! What a hoot these marxists fools are. We know they are just shooting from the hip with all this language police talk and don’t really MEAN it. ha ha

Jim Stewart

Shouldn’t Mr. Blitzer change his first name, too? A wolf is a predator and who knows what kind of violence that imagery can incite?

(Apologies to VJS for stealing her line)

I can’t believe Andy Shaw would agree to go on air with John King.
Shaw has been a “real journalist” in Chicago for decades, and pulls no
punches-and has never given the left a break-he has been the bane of every mayor going back as far as I remember! No one is safe around Shaw, whereas John King has the pubes of every democrat he interviews stuck in his throat.

Ugh-these lefty “journalists” are just a bit too much for me, even on a short clip on my very favorite website ihatethemedia.com!

John King should have simply apologized for CNN even being ON THE AIR!
