Eric Cantor says what you’ve been saying for two years: Obama is “in over his head”

by editor on August 4, 2011

It’s a bit of a mystery to us why Republicans haven’t been pounding this theme home day after day after day. So we’re glad to see that Eric Cantor finally worked up the balls to speak his mind.

The other players eventually catch on when you bluff on every hand

Politico.com has Cantor’s comments:

The president has not run a business or created jobs and has proven himself ill-suited to put the economy back on track, the Virginia Republican said in a midday interview on the Wall Street Journal’s website with opinion columnist Peggy Noonan and editor James Freeman.

“I think, frankly, he’s in over his head as to what to do about this economy,” Cantor said.

At one point during negotiations on a deal to raise the debt ceiling, Cantor said that the president chose to play politics rather than working on the substance of the deal. Obama seemed “agitated” by Republicans’ opposition to any measures that might be perceived as tax increases – something that the president wanted in a deal – and, at one point, said, “Eric, don’t call my bluff,” Cantor recalled.

Just a note to President Obama for the future: When you’re bluffing, don’t announce that you’re bluffing.

Apparently the guy is no better at playing poker than he is at playing president.

Eric Cantor has invested in shares that deliver on the failure of the US economy. WTF? It’s a short, that pays out extraordinarily on the failure of the US economy. So… why would a congressman bet against our economy? Why would a congressman walk away from a deal that is assured to topple our economy? Do the math.

Cite sources please.

If you’re referring to him owning Trust-Shares that he picked up recently, one would simply come to the conclusion that he is hedging against a possible blowout of the US economy. He has more in treasuries then he has shorts, so I do not understand your post. Hedging $15,000 in shorts when one has over $25,000 in treasuries would mean he would still stand to lose money in case of economic freefall.

Fail troll. Next?

“Eric Cantor has invested in shares that deliver on the failure of the US economy.”

So Eric Cantor is wagering that the economy of the country will fail? He must have almost as much faith in Obamanomics as I do.

Some would call that realism.

In order to be in over your head, you must first have a head..I don’t think Obungles qualifies, The man has a pair of Asses, one on top, one in the middle..
And a pair of asses beats? Nothing.

I remember telling my idiot stepbrother the same thing when we were kids.

“Rusty, you got a good butt on your shoulders.” Called him the two-butt kid.

Obama is indeed in over his head, the big problem is that he doesn’t realize it.

Narcissism and incompetency are a dangerous combination.

What has Obama done that can be considered a success? The Stimulus? The budget deficit? Afghanistan? Libya (remember Libya?)? His energy policy? His growing, intrusive, bureaucracy? Economic recovery? Obamacare hasn’t even been implemented and it’s already causing problems. His only success has been in dealing with terrorism and that’s because he’s continued most of Bush’s policies. Epic fail.

Narcissism and incompetency are a fatal combination.

What’s worked? The Stimulus? Afghanistan? Libya? (remember Libya?) The deficit? Jobs? The growing bureaucracy? It’s getting worse, Obamacare hasn’t yet been implemented and it’s already causing problems. His only success has been in fighting terrorism and that’s because he continued most of Bush’s policies.

Obama has been an absolute disaster, he’s worse than I thought he’d be.

I have to agree with oic here. If Obama is such a lousy poker player and keeps telegraphing his hand, then why are those in the Republican leadership
losing to him whem they have all the cards and better hands? They have to be part of the problem, ie., fellow travelers!

Although President Reagan announced he was going to kick Democrat and Soviet ass and then proceeded to kick their ass. We need some kick ass Republicans again.

With the current crop of Republicans, the Democrats can get whatever they want. Just look at the debt ceiling bill. I saw the other night on CNN, (hey, it was on in the restaurant), news people talking about how now the Tea Partiers should be happy, we got what we wanted. Horse Hockey!

He really doesn’t have to say it; it’s kinda like going to Barrow, AK on Christmas and telling people it’s cold. Like, DUH!

It’s not that bad that a leader is inept at parts of his/her job. Although there usually are some strong areas, Obama excepted. But, any blithering idiot should be smart enough to appoint staff (czars or cabinet weenies or whatever) that are experienced that can advise him/her in order to help them not look like a fool. Wheninell in this administration is there a competent person in charge of anything?

Of course the black Jesus (savior to all the oppressed/repressed/depressed colored folk here) is in over his head. It’s called affirmative action and it doesn’t work (just like most colored folk I see loitering around all day).

Gibs, you’re a one-trick pony and it’s become tiresome.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Despite this troll’s usual racist idiocy, he does make a valid point: Sock Puppet is the end product of 40 years of affirmative action, preferential/deferential treatment, and “the soft bigotry of low expectations.” Sock Puppet’s SOLE qualification for the D’s nomination was his skin color. There is not a white politician in the country who would have been seriously considered as candidate for president with the same resume. It is NOT racist to acknowledge this as a fact.

However it is also true that many black people took advantage of the affirmative action and made jewels out of their lives. Without AA they probably wouldn’t have had the leg up to end up with bejeweled lives. If anything AA could have been less of what it ended up being and more about awarding the performance and expecting performance soon enough and letting go of forced opportunities after their initial opportunity… but like everything else the government did not use what was essentially a tool correctly and everyone suffers from it.

Obama remind me of Boehner and Cantor at playing poker to be honest. The GOP leaders announce their hand before playing
