Former Air America pundit and current lunatic offers $100,000 for Glen Beck sex tape

Beau Friedlander had a silly little blog at the Huffington Post in which he promised a $100,000.00 bounty for a Glen Beck sex tape.

How much will Beau Friedlander pay for a photo of Glenn Beck in lederhosen?

We really like Glenn Beck, but not to the point that we’d pay $100,000 to see the guy naked.

But apparently Beau Friedlander, who we reported on months ago, has a thing for Beck that has endured unchecked since at least September of last year.

According to an article at Salon.com, “Beau Friedlander had a silly little blog at the Huffington Post in which he promised a $100,000.00 bounty for a Glen Beck sex tape. The post was actually a barely coherent, largely inaccurate history of neoconservatism, plus complaining about Glenn Beck, that ended with a paragraph offering “a $100,000 payday to the person who will come forward with a sex tape or phone records or anything else that succeeds in removing Glenn Beck from the public eye forever.” (Friedlander does not actually have this money, which made the whole thing even sillier.)”

Aha! So it’s not some sick desire to see the Beck au natural that inspires Friedlander, it’s a desire to see Beck driven out of the public eye, much as Air America and Friedlander have been?

Adding insult to injury, Salon.com says, “Today, that post is gone! Instead, there is an editor’s note. ‘This piece was published directly to the Huffington Post by its author. It didn’t meet our editorial standards and has been removed from the site.’”

Not up to the editorial standards of the Huffington Post? Is there really such a thing?

Now don’t be confused as to the purpose of the Salon.com story. It was posted not to defend Glenn Beck, but in an attempt to embarrass the Huffington Post, one of its biggest competitors in liberal land. The author actually chastises Friedlander for making the offer, stating that Beck “not only has no shame, but any embarrassing stories about him just fuel the redemption narrative, you moron.”

Now that sounds a lot more like salon.com, doesn’t it?
