According to the Evening Standard, the city of London has seen a 47 percent rise in knife crimes, including “214 killings, 391 attempted murders, 438 rapes, 182 other sexual assaults, and 14,429 robberies. There were also more than 18,500 assaults involving an injury or intent to inflict harm with a blade and 2,816 threats to kill with a knife.”
According to The Telegraph, latest figures confirm London is more dangerous than New York, noting New York and London have similar populations (about 8 million), but in London burglary is six times more likely, rape is three times more likely, and the risk of being robbed is 50 percent higher.
49ers Donate $500K To Gun Control Push. Yes indeed, like we needed another reason not to watch NFL football. We’d like to know when they’re going to donate money to combat murder, spousal abuse, rape, assault, DUI’s, speeding, drug use, animal cruelty, and a long list of other crimes?
OH, LOOK: The NY Times Editorial Board Is Lying To Their Readers Again. Propaganda prevails at the NYT. If they ever saw a real AR-15 they’d fill their Depends.
Maryland’s Landmark Assault Weapons/High-Cap Mag Ban Takes A Hit. Time for the NRA to sue the libtards in California about this infringement upon everyone’s rights.
“Maryland’s ban on commonly owned firearms and magazines clearly violates our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.”
He told Paige that Thursday morning between 5:30 and 10 a.m., there were just three patrol cars assigned to the West LA division. Two cars to protect more than 200,000 people in a 65 square mile radius.
Virginia Lawmakers May Take Away Anti-Gun Governor’s Body Guards. We heartily encourage this. Time to play hardball with the gun grabbers. Perhaps Congress should take away all arms from Obama’s secret service protection for starters?
Watergate, anyone? Fox News’ Brit Hume says the Mexican gun running scandal is moving from simmer to boil and is starting to remind him of Watergate.
Watergate, anyone? Fox News’ Brit Hume says the Mexican gun running scandal is moving from simmer to boil and is starting to remind him of Watergate. Hume asked the most famous question that was asked during that scandal.
The Daily Caller reports:
“This is a real scandal,” Hume said. “And once again, we have the classic question of what did the attorney general, for example, know? When did he know it?”
Hume likened Obama’s handling of the scandal to that of Nixon’s handling of Watergate, which ultimately resulted in Nixon’s resignation.
“This Obama Justice Department reminds me of nothing so much as the Nixon Justice Department,” he said. “You have the scent of high-level knowledge of serious wrongdoing and you have the smell of cover-up and I think the stench of cover-up on this gun-running operation is very strong indeed.”
To Nixon’s credit, he never promised us the most open, most transparent administration in history.
Good lord, you Second Amendment zealots have had your way and this is the result. This is exactly what happens when you give people the unfettered right to guns and those bullety thingamajigs that go in them.

If you recognize this unidentified bullet, please call the Yorkshire Police Department immediately
The horrifying details are brought to you by York Press:
A STARTLED man has told how he found a bullet lying in a York city-centre street.
Tim Stark said he was unloading items into the MOR Music store where he works in Fossgate yesterday morning when he spotted what he believed to be a live .22 bullet gleaming in a puddle.
He said he immediately called police, who came and took it away.
“I have no idea what it was doing there,” he said.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the bullet had been put into safe storage, and CID had confirmed it was not thought to be connected with any incident currently under investigation.
He asked anyone with any information about the bullet and how it came to be in Fossgate to phone the force on 0845 60 60 47.
In the words of Hardwurkindaddy, who sent us this tip, “Has everyone in the entire friggin’ world LOST THIER MINDS?”
Our point of view? Unless the bullet they found in the street was in a body they found in the street, we’re not even sure what the issue is.
An Illinois law that says you must show valid photo ID to purchase a gun is causing problems for the Amish because their religion prohibits them from having their photos taken.
Illinois may call itself The Land of Lincoln, but old Abe would be turning over in his grave if he saw this story.
An Illinois law that says you must show valid photo ID to purchase a gun is causing problems for the Amish because their religion prohibits them from having their photos taken.
The Amish can vote without photo ID, but they can't buy guns
NBC Chicago has the details:
Up till now, the state had allowed them to obtain an FOID card without a photo, as is required of every other gun owner. But last month, the state police director reversed that policy, and said photos would be required of every gun owner, Amish or not.
The sheriff of Douglas County, considered to be the heart of Illinois’ Amish country, said many of them are rifle hunters to bring home food. If the new policy is enforced, many Amish would find themselves facing a tough choice – lose that source of food and protection, or violate their religious teachings.
The issue is complicated even further by the state attorney general recently ruling that FOID information can be made public. The Amish lead sequestered lives and strive to keep society at large out of their affairs. The possibility of making their photos public would make the whole prospect doubly offensive.
Irony alert: The same Democrats who believe the Amish should be forced to violate their religion in order to purchase guns feel just as strongly that photo IDs shouldn’t be required in order to vote. They voted down a law proposed by Republicans in 2008 that would have made voter photo IDs necessary.
An attempt to require Illinois voters to show identification before casting a ballot was rejected Thursday by Democratic lawmakers.
The proposal would have required an official ID in order to get a ballot. Those who didn’t comply could cast provisional votes that would be counted so long as the voter could produce an ID within 10 days.
State Rep. David Reis, a downstate Willow Hill Republican, modeled the Illinois proposal after an Indiana law recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. Supporters said in a day and age in which ID is required with so many daily activities, it’s not out of line to add voting to the list.
“We have to prove who we are to get in this building,” state Rep. Tim Schmitz, a Batavia Republican, said of working in the Capitol. “At some point we have to take responsibility for who we are.”
Unfortunately, Rep. Schmitz, with Democrats in power that point is when you want a gun, not when you want to vote.
The Obama administration is exploring potential changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action.
Gun and ammo sales have skyrocketed since Barack Obama swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America except for that pesky Second Amendment.
What’s that? You didn’t hear him say anything about the Second Amendment during the Inauguration? Well, he might not have said those exact words, but it’s pretty damn clear that’s what he was thinking.
This Barack Obama action figure just confiscated an assault weapon from a G.I. Joe action figure
The Huffington Post, of all places, has the details:
Faced with a Congress hostile to even slight restrictions of Second Amendment rights, the Obama administration is exploring potential changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action, administration officials say.
The Department of Justice held the first in what is expected to be a series of meetings on Tuesday afternoon with a group of stakeholders in the ongoing gun-policy debates. Before the meeting, officials said part of the discussion was expected to center around the White House’s options for shaping policy on its own or through its adjoining agencies and departments — on issues ranging from beefing up background checks to encouraging better data-sharing.
Administration officials said talk of executive orders or agency action are among a host of options that President Barack Obama and his advisers are considering….
President Obama says he’s looking for some good give and take on this issue. Mostly take.
Wyoming just did away with the concept of gun control and passed a constitutional amendment allowing its citizens to carry weapons. No permits required. No license necessary.
Would the last liberal leaving Wyoming please close the door? The land of Dick Cheney just did away with the concept of gun control and passed a constitutional amendment allowing its citizens to carry weapons. No permits required. No license necessary.
We predict that crime rates are about to fall in Wyoming
The New American reports the worst news liberals have heard this week:
An important step was taken yesterday in Wyoming toward restoring the constitutionally protected right of Americans to keep and bear arms, as that state became the second in less than a year to enact legislation affirming the right of its citizens to carry a concealed firearm without a special government-issued license.
Following adoption in the state Senate, the vote of the House in the Wyoming legislature approved the bill by a vote of 48–8 several weeks ago, and Gov. Matt Mead signed it into law on March 3.
The right to carry a concealed firearm without a special license issued by the state is often referred to as “constitutional carry.”
Worst damn news liberals have heard all week. Or as we like to call it, best damn news we’ve heard all week.
There was no neutrality in this vote. The Swiss have overwhelmingly rejected a leftwing referendum that would have taken away their guns and stored them “safely” in armories.
There was no neutrality in this vote. The Swiss have overwhelmingly rejected a leftwing referendum that would have taken away their guns and stored them “safely” in armories.
A referendum, launched by a coalition of non-governmental groups, religious authorities and centre-left parties, pushed to have the weapons stored in armouries instead.
Take back the night: "Gun monopoly for criminals? No gun control."
The initiative also aimed to abolish the practice of allowing those on military service to keep their government-issue assault rifles even after they leave the army.
But the coalition failed to secure the votes of both a majority of the population and cantons.
Final results showed that 20 out of 26 cantons were against while 56.3 per cent of the population rejected the initiative.
For any initiative to pass, the twin support of a majority of citizens and of cantons is required….
Amnesty International also issued a statement saying that it is “regrettable that the majority of the Swiss population did not find that the place of a weapon is not at home.”
When asked why he robbed banks, gangster Willie Sutton once said, “Because that’s where the money is.”
The obvious corollary that the left refuses to understand is that Swiss criminals don’t rob homes because that’s where the guns are.
Five South Dakota lawmakers have introduced legislation that would require any adult 21 or older to buy a firearm “sufficient to provide for their ordinary self-defense.”
Thanks for five creative legislators in South Dakota, Democrats are about to learn the meaning of the phrase “hoisted on your own petard.”
The Argus Leader has the particulars of the petard:
Five South Dakota lawmakers have introduced legislation that would require any adult 21 or older to buy a firearm “sufficient to provide for their ordinary self-defense.”
Barney Frank has come out against the individual mandate since he learned that it includes neither a man nor a date
The bill, which would take effect Jan. 1, 2012, would give people six months to acquire a firearm after turning 21. The provision does not apply to people who are barred from owning a firearm.Nor does the measure specify what type of firearm. Instead, residents would pick one “suitable to their temperament, physical capacity, and preference. The measure is known as an act “to provide for an individual mandate to adult citizens to provide for the self defense of themselves and others.”
Rep. Hal Wick, R-Sioux Falls, is sponsoring the bill and knows it will be killed. But he said he is introducing it to prove a point that the federal health care reform mandate passed last year is unconstitutional.
“Do I or the other cosponsors believe that the State of South Dakota can require citizens to buy firearms? Of course not. But at the same time, we do not believe the federal government can order every citizen to buy health insurance,” he said.
Can’t wait to hear this one argued before the Supreme Court. Or even the People’s Court.
Oops. Sorry. The Taurus 28 gauge short barreled shotgun revolver no longer available. Not because they were sold out, but because the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said, “You can’t sell that thing.”
Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to introduce the Taurus 28 gauge short barreled shotgun revolver.
Oops. Sorry. It’s no longer available. Not because they were sold out, but because the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said, “You can’t sell that thing.”
The Taurus shotgun revolver, striking fear in hearts of burglars across the fruited plain
Yes, BATFE dropped by the Taurus booth at a major gun show and declared that the Brazilian-made 28 gauge revolver was actually an illegal short barreled shotgun, not a handgun.
As we understand it, Taurus checked the little box that said it was a shotgun instead of the one that said it’s a revolver. And that, apparently, is enough to get it banned in the United States. Burglars and other assorted bad guys are sending bouquets to the boys from BATFE this morning.
Too bad. We had already worked up a nifty little ad slogan for Taurus:
“When you get burglarized, the burglar gets vaporized.”
“KGUN. On your side,” the station’s current call letters and slogan must be changed. And since we’re the ones who pointed out the lurking danger in KGUN’s call letters, we feel it’s also our responsibility to suggest new call letters and slogans.
As highly-trained mental health professionals, we have determined that the call letters of Tucson television station KGUN were the straw that broke the back of young Jared Loughner’s mind (ignore the mixed metaphor, damn it. We said we are highly-trained mental health professionals, not professional writers). You can see that analysis in our accompanying article here.
We demand – and we’re sure that all right-thinking Americans join us in this demand – that KGUN change its call letters so that it will no longer provoke young Arizona psychotics into violence.
KGUN News. Shooting our mouths off at 5, 6 and 11.
“KGUN. On your side,” the station’s current call letters and slogan must be changed. And since we’re the ones who pointed out the lurking danger in KGUN’s call letters, we feel it’s also our responsibility to suggest new call letters and slogans for this unfortunately named Tucson TV station. Like these:
KPOW. Explosive news every night at 6 o’clock! KILL. Hard-hitting news that’ll wipe out the competition! KA47. Rapid fire news! KOPS. We’re watching you watch us! KAAP. We be busting news bullets all day, homie! KASS. It takes one to watch one! KOOK. That voice in your head is us! KISS. Keep It Stupid, Socialists! KNIF. We got your back! KRAP. Bringing you the straight poop! KEPT. The official news channel of John Kerry!
One other suggestion: KGUN really needs to stop carrying “Wipeout” Monday nights at 8:00. It may well be that Jared Loughner heard a network promotion that combined the words “Wipeout” and “GUN” in the same sentence just before his killing spree.
Makes as much sense as the theory that he was pushed over the edge by the image of crosshairs on a website he never visited.
Feel free to contribute your own suggested call letters and slogans.
C’mon, Tom, who do you think you’re kidding? You’d be nervous about going into any bar more than a half a mile from Manhattan’s upper east side.
C’mon, Tom, who do you think you’re kidding? You’d be nervous about going into any bar more than a half a mile from Manhattan’s upper east side.
But if you should someday happen to find yourself in a bar in Arizona, take our advice. Don’t order any of the foo-foo drinks you sissy elitists normally order.
No Kahlua and milk. No brandy and ginger beer. No piña colada with pink umbrellas. No white wine. No raspberry Fanta. No appletini. No tequila with a splash of cranberry juice. No Baileys over vanilla ice cream. No Japanese plum wine and soda. And no Pink Ladies. Definitely no Pink Ladies.
Well, not unless you’re drinking with Barney Frank and he’s dressed in his Village People cowboy costume and you’re in that special little bar he knows in Scottsdale.
One other tip: When you’re introduced to a man in a bar in Arizona, do not say, “Is that a six shooter in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.”
