If it weren’t for the National Enquirer’s outstanding work on the John Edwards “Baby Mama” story, this new story would easy to laugh off. But nobody’s laughing. Especially Barack Obama.
Michelle Obama – cracking under the pressure of being First Lady – is drinking way more than she should, friends fear.
Longtime pals have been keeping a close eye on her White House booze intake for months, sources told The ENQUIRER, and her husband President Barack Obama even stepped in when she recently consumed too much alcohol.
“When Barack saw Michelle drink more than she should at a recent dinner, he hit the roof. He told her, ‘This is NOT going to turn into a problem!’” a close source told The ENQUIRER.
“Barack is overly sensitive to the issue because of his own past drinking and substance abuse problems. But he also feels guilty because of the pictures taken of him drinking beer at an NBA game recently.”
The President also feels he may have contributed to his wife’s alcohol issues by not stopping her from overindulging during their date night in New York City on May 30.
Michelle, 45, knocked back “a glass or two of champagne” while the couple flew to the Big Apple on a private jet, according to the close source, and published reports said she downed two martinis during dinner at the Greenwich Village restaurant Blue Hill.
“It was clear that Mrs. Obama was having a VERY good time,” a restaurant employee told The ENQUIRER.
“There’s a real fear that she may be drinking more than she should as a result of the pressures that come along with being First Lady,” an insider divulged.
It looks like “Last call” are the First Lady’s least favorite words.

This is funny. TheFrisky.com as a story called, “Stupid Tabloid Claim Of The Week: Is Michelle Obama A Lush?!” and the first line begins “The war on Michelle Obama continues. This time it’s not her looks that her critics are attacking, but her sobriety.” Are they out of their minds? The media has made Michelle Obama one of the world’s 100 Most Beautiful People, they fawn over her toned arms, her slender body (what!), her fashion sense, blah, blah, blah…she’s America’s Princess Diana. (barf) This is a “war?”
Does Michelle Obama have a drinking problem? We don’t know. But there is certainly no “war” against her.

I’m skeptical – If that bit about him telling her to ‘behave herself’ is true – he is more domineering than he should be, a husband is not parent, she might be rebelling against him, not have a problem, just assert her right to do what she wishes. – Why doesn’t that surprise me?

If Michelle Obama really has a drinking problem, this is not something to laugh at. Alcohol addiction is a serious problem.
Well, this explains her mood swings and strange behavior. Small wonder Obama didn’t take her to Saudi land. I think they behead drunk women.
All Islamic lands are dry lands.. and I don’t mean desert! A Muslim is not supposed to drink – I read they are promised that they will drink sweet wine in eternity while visiting their 72 lady- friends. There was a story about the great man losing his patience with his followers when they got drunk as he was praying.
They drink coffee and tea by the gallon, needless to say.
I don’t have any idea what the punishments are, but I am rather confident it would be unpleasant – everything I have ever read about that religion suggests that “Death” is a liberally applied punishment.
I doubt we will ever know the truth as long as they are in the White House… the Press and media will never report the truth – remember how long it took for them to report Kennedy’s many affairs!
No alcohol, but they chew khat like crazy. Khat is a leaf that is very addictive and is considered as bad as any drug out there. A form of wine can even been made from it.
Our own country had to outlaw it.
He didn’t take her because of the issues Middle Easterners have with strong women in general. Even Condi had to have a male escort in many locales, as did Hillary.

Anyone who has ever read the headlines of the National Enquirer knows that the headline is meant to grab your attention so you read the article. When you read the article, you realize it has no substance and no documented truth. People who read this trash need to get a life. I don’t believe that Michelle Obama, a beautiful, intelligent, educated woman would risk her husband’s reputation by drinking to access in public. Just another small item to get the radical right-wingers something to rag about on their unfair and unbalanced network.
And a fine, upstanding gentleman like John Edwards would never, ever, ever, ever cheat on his dying wife. Oh, wait. He did. And the National Enquirer broke that story, too, when the rest of the liberal media ignored it.
I am not too concerned about Michelle Obama. I will admit she is no Rose Carter, or Nancy Reagan… Those first Ladies were real LADIES.
The Obama’s are in for some tough times. We continue to be in wars when the Obama promised voters we would get out. The wars are becoming severely mismanaged. About on the same level as Rumsfeldt with the Bush Administration.. Stimulus isn’t working as expected.. Despite the wars ongoing, and the economy problem, The Liberals want to move onto to heath care, while the Global warming bill hasn’t yet cleared the Senate. And there’s talk about another Stimulus. The Obama Administration and Congress keep throwing bills and ideas on the Congress floor and NOTHING is really getting solved.
That would lead me to drinking too..
As long as Michelle stays out of the way and doesn’t get involved in the limelight.. I have no problem with her drinking. She is not the President… She isn’t in the driver’s seat. Her signature isn’t required to pass laws. I am somewhat a Republican but Michelle is Michelle.. Like all the past first ladies they have their style.. She has her own style. If she likes to have a few drinks once in awhile, more power to her.
If I were in Michelle’s shoes.. I’d drink too. The Facade of “Change” is about to wear off. Americans in the not too distant future are going to want to see results. If Obama continues to be empty handed the party will be over.

I wonder if M.O. drinks Alize’ or Courvoisier? Maybe she hits the MD 20/20. With one of her recent occasions where she was taped telling the ladies that they didn’t need for her to leave to break out the wine – I don’t doubt it. How crass and low class can you be spending all the money they do while people are unemployed and the hardest hit are minorities and even harder hit is the African American community. I don’t understand the level of denial people have over these 2 jerks. All he does is blab – all she does is dig in the dirt – then go out and spend our money. If Bush or even Clinton did this there would certainly be tons of criticism by now. Can’t wait for 2012!
