This is one of those stories the media never covers. And one of the reasons we hate them.
During the recent Gaza conflict, it was widely reported that Israel Defense Forces had bombed a U.N. school in the Jabalya refugee camp. This led activists to accuse Israel of war crimes and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to demand an investigation.
Now the U.N. reports that “a clerical error” led them to falsely accuse Israel of the attack. The international organization’s January 6 field report said an IDF shell had caused fatalities when it hit outside the school, but an updated field report dated January 7 said the shell hit the school itself.
U.N. spokesperson Roseanne Roseannadanna said, “Oops. Never mind.”
Funny how coverage is so much spottier when it comes to retractions. Especially when it involves Israel.

The UN has never said there was a direct hit on the school
“Early reports suggest that at 15.45 on 6 January 09, three artillery shells landed outside the UNRWA Jabalia Prep C Girls School, resulting in at least 30 fatalities and 55 injuries, of which 15 are reported to be critical. The school is currently being used as a shelter for those fleeing hostilities.”
The final toll was 43 killed and about 100 injured.
The IDF tried to lie its way out of an investigation for war crimes:
1. The IDF were returning Hammas fire they said – LIES say the UN.
2. IDF mortars must have hit a Hamas weapons store they said – more LIES say the UN.
3. Well actually, the IDF wasn’t returning fire and didn’t hit Hamas weapons store and the UN was wrong to say we attacked the School at all they said . More LIES say the UN – we never said the School was hit directly – we said the shells landed too close to a declared refuge.
Now that the IDF have been PWNED, they have had to get their lackeys like Ihatethemedia to carry on the fight.
