Hey, Roger Ebert, how about two thumbs up yours!

We always liked Gene Siskel better anyway.

It looks like everyone has an opinion about the Live Oak High School students being sent home for displaying the American Flag. Even America’s most famous failed screenwriter. According to The Los Angeles Times Roger Ebert has weighed in on the matter and had this to say in a recent Twitter posting:

“Kids who wear American Flag T-shirts on 5 May should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer and sickle on 4 July.”

We don’t know how long it has been since Mr. Ebert was in school but nowadays they tend to let out for national holidays like the Fourth of July. Especially when they fall in the middle of summer.

Of course, that sort of slavish devotion to reason might be a little much to expect from a little man who so vehemently opposes the “fascism” attributed to fictional character Dirty Harry, but lauds the real life variety embodied by Asst. Principal Miguel Rodriguez.
