Two German entrepreneurs have figured a way to turn liberal stupidity on itself and get around the light bulb ban at the same time.
The eco-wackos have succeeded in banning the standard incandescent light bulb, leaving us with those ugly, mercury-filled, twisty bulbs. But two German entrepreneurs have figured a way to turn liberal stupidity on itself and get around the ban at the same time.
Do not make the mistake of thinking this is a light bulb
Just as acts of terrorism have been renamed “made-made disasters” by the Obama administration, these guys had one of those Eureka! moments when they realized they could get around the light bulb ban simply by renaming them “Heat Balls.”
Ahhh, the genius of German design:
A German entrepreneur is bypassing a European Union ban on light bulbs of more than 60 watts by marketing his own brand as mini heaters.
Siegfried Rotthaeuser and his brother-in-law have come up with a legal way of importing and distributing 75 and 100 watt light bulbs – by producing them in China, importing them as “small heating devices” and selling them as “heatballs” … On their website, the two engineers describe the heatballs as “action art” and as “resistance against legislation which is implemented without recourse to democratic and parliamentary processes.”
The company’s sold out its first 4,000 Heat Balls in just 72 hours.
The first presidential soundbite ever recorded on film — a crystal clear statement of conservative economic values from Silent Cal Coolidge, the nation’s 30th President.
This is a great video. It’s not only the first presidential soundbite ever recorded on film, it’s a crystal clear statement of conservative economic values. All from Silent Cal Coolidge, the nation’s 30th President.
What we wouldn’t give today for a president who doesn’t talk incessantly.
In this cheesy report, NBC’s Lisa Myers attempts to link Florida Republican Allen West to the Outlaws biker gang.
This may be the weakest hit piece the media has trumped up in this election cycle.
In this cheesy report, NBC’s Lisa Myers attempts to link Florida Republican Allen West to the Outlaws biker gang. And just for good measure, she also briefly mentions the old Iraq story – the one that makes West a hero to conservatives – with no context in an attempt to make it sound scandalous.
West is neck and neck with his Democrat opponent and there are just two weeks to go until election day. The media’s read the polls and they’re starting to break out in cold sweats, so it’s time for them to break out whatever sorry crap is left in their Armory of Untruths.
Wow. She’s self-centered, has a remarkable sense of entitlement, blames everyone else for her problems, and talks too much. Who ever would have guessed that those traits were genetic?

That’s one of our favorite stories of the year, because you couldn’t make up something like this if you tried. Not if you tried all day. And half the night. President Barack Obama’s polygamist half brother in Kenya has married a woman who is more than 30 years younger than him.

Muslim Malik Obama displays a photo of himself with his 100% completely un-Muslim brother Barack
The Associated Press has the polygamous particulars:
President Barack Obama’s polygamist half brother in Kenya has married a woman who is more than 30 years younger than him.
The 19-year-old’s mother told The Associated Press on Friday she is furious that her daughter quit high school and married the 52-year-old.
Mary Aoko Ouma says her daughter tried to marry Malik Obama two years ago, but the mother says she wouldn’t give permission.
Malik Obama, who is Muslim, has two other wives. Polygamy is legal in Kenya if it falls under religious or cultural traditions.
Seriously, this story has it all. Kooky Obama relatives. Muslims. Polygamy. High school drop-outs. Teenage sex. An angry mother.
This is what life is going to be like in blogger heaven.
The following line that reveals just how out of touch with reality Jerry Brown really is. “Of course,” Brown says, “I’m not going to sign any bills until we get the budget solved and that may take me a couple of months.”
Every other blog that’s run this video clip has focused on the first part, where former and future California Governor Moonbeam pledges to sign a bill entitling every illegal alien in the tarnished Golden State to attend college.
Far as we’re concerned, though, it’s the following line that reveals just how out of touch with reality Brown really is.
“Of course,” Brown says, “I’m not going to sign any bills until we get the budget solved and that may take me a couple of months.”
Governor Moonbeam, indeed. It’s taken the state decades to get $30 billion in debt. It’s reduced two consecutive governors to blithering idiots. The state is controlled by the public employee unions to whom Brown is beholden. The legislature is controlled by lunatic leftists who refuse to cut a penny in spending. And this lying sack of excrement says it may take “a couple of months” to solve the problem. Note that it may take him a couple of months. Why this guy’s such an economic wizard that he may just get the whole thing wrapped up in a couple weeks. With a little luck, maybe just a day or two.
California is about to get what it deserves. Unfortunately, the state’s few remaining conservatives will be taken down along with the liberals who not only caused the problem, but continue to exacerbate it by electing leftist wackos like Brown.
Writing in Time, which used to be a news magazine, Joe Klein hammered away at the old liberal line that average Americans just aren’t smart enough to know what is good for them. He complains that “There is something profoundly diseased about a society that idolizes its ignoramuses and disdains its experts.”
Writing in Time, which used to be a news magazine, Joe Klein hammered away at the old liberal line that average Americans just aren’t smart enough to know what is good for them.
He complains that “There is something profoundly diseased about a society that idolizes its ignoramuses and disdains its experts.”
Time's Joe Klein is your social and intellectual superior. And don't you forget it.
Ignoramuses, apparently, are anyone Joe Klein doesn’t like, including Christine O’Donnell, Sharon Angle, Ron Johnson and, of course, Sarah Palin, who Klein dismisses as “Our leading exemplar of ignorant authenticity.”
What is it about these people that causes Klein to treat them with such disdain? Believe it or not, it’s the fact that have committed the unforgivable liberal sin of being “certifiably non-elite.”
So who does Klein feel represents the elite and the “experts?” Obviously, the people who populate the current administration.
Apparently, the ability to scam a large number of people is a prerequisite to being considered what Klein calls a “card-carrying member of the elites.” Witness Klein’s adoration of former car czar turned financial swindler Steve Rattner, who has been fined $5 million “…and banned him from finance, for a time, because he and his partners apparently attempted to bribe major pension funds in New York to invest with them.”
In waxing eloquent about Rattner, Klein says, “Rattner is a journalist turned investment banker, an Ivy Leaguer, a denizen of Manhattan’s happiest haunts and of summers on Martha’s Vineyard, vacation spot of choice for Democratic Presidents. He did a fine job as Barack Obama’s auto czar; the GM and Chrysler bailouts seem to be working brilliantly, saving thousands upon thousands of good American jobs. I know Steve pretty well; I’ve had dinner at his house; we’ve had good conversations; our kids have played together.”
The left, of course, fails to realize that average Americans correctly consider Klein’s vaunted elites to be snobs who incorrectly consider themselves far better than the unwashed masses.
We would hope that after November 2 articles about elite politicians are of the “Hey, whatever happen to all those elite politicians?” variety.
Ahead of President Sarkozy’s 30-minute audience with the Pontiff earlier this month, Vatican officials sent the French ambassador a message saying: “Carla Sarkozy is not welcome in the Vatican.”
If Carla Bruni Sarkozy were to call IHateTheMedia.com and say she wanted to stop by for a visit, the Editor would scurry around cleaning up the empty pizza boxes while the Administrator ran down to the corner 7-Eleven to buy the finest beer they had in stock. We’re givers, damn it.
The Pope, not so much.
Suddenly, we understand what Chris Matthews meant when he talked about getting a tingle up his leg
Time.com has the details of Bruni’s schism with the Catholic church:
Ahead of President Sarkozy’s 30-minute audience with the Pontiff earlier this month, Vatican officials sent the French ambassador a message saying:
“Carla Sarkozy is not welcome in the Vatican.” The message, which led her to stay in Paris, is said to be over the Pope’s fears that more racy photographs of her days as a catwalk model would emerge. Nude and semi-naked pictures from her days as a model are regularly published in the media. In one, she’s seen posing in just a pair of knee high boots and a diamond ring. (The U.S. didn’t seem to mind.)
President Sarkozy set up the meeting with the Pope after polls showed his popularity rating with French Catholics had fallen from 61% to 47% in the past year. Although raised a Catholic himself, Sarkozy is twice divorced and his current wife has an illegitimate child. The Elysée Palace in Paris had no comment on why the first lady stayed in Paris for the Vatican trip.
Let us make this clear. As much as Carla Bruni is not welcome at the Vatican, that’s how much she is welcome at IHateTheMedia.com. Feel free to drop by any time, Carla.

“Obama! A Modern U.S. President” is pretty funny stuff. And Butler does a great job of capturing Obama’s “my crap don’t stink” attitude. But we don’t know if this video is a one-off or if there’s an entire musical to go with it.
This musical video comes from L.A. actor/writer/producer Ronnie Butler (with inspiration by Gilbert & Sullivan’s “I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General” from Pirates of Penzance.)

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has come out and spoken the unspeakable, that “multikulti” – multiculturalism – hasn’t worked.
Angela Merkel spoke the unspeakable: multculturalism doesn't work
The BBC has her comments on multicultural mayhem:
Mrs Merkel told a gathering of younger members of her conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party on Saturday that at “the beginning of the 60s our country called the foreign workers to come to Germany and now they live in our country… We kidded ourselves a while, we said: ‘They won’t stay, sometime they will be gone’, but this isn’t reality.
“And of course, the approach [to build] a multicultural [society] and to live side-by-side and to enjoy each other… has failed, utterly failed.”
… Mrs Merkel stressed that immigrants living in Germany needed to do more to integrate, including learning to speak German.
“Anyone who does not immediately speak German”, she said, “is not welcome”.
Multiculturalism is one of our pet peeves. Liberals swear that it is the panacea for all the world’s ills, but far as we can tell, it’s just another of those baseless beliefs that become part of the liberal psyche.
In the words of Michael Savage, “Borders, language, culture.”
(By the way, in case you were wondering, unsinn is the German word for nonsense. We only used it because we couldn’t find a German translation for bullshit.)
For years, global warming skeptics have complained that they were treated unfairly by Wikipedia. Now the people’s encyclopedia has admitted as much by purging its pages of William Connelley.
For years, global warming skeptics have complained that they were treated unfairly by Wikipedia. Now the people’s encyclopedia has admitted as much by purging its pages of William Connelley.
Wikipedia boots William Connelley. And the polar bears weep.
FinancialPost.com has the details:
William Connolley, arguably the world’s most influential global warming advocate after Al Gore, has lost his bully pulpit. Connolley did not wield his influence by the quality of his research or the force of his argument but through his administrative position at Wikipedia, the most popular reference source on the planet.
Through his position, Connolley for years kept dissenting views on global warming out of Wikipedia, allowing only those that promoted the view that global warming represented a threat to mankind. As a result, Wikipedia became a leading source of global warming propaganda, with Connolley its chief propagandist.
His career as a global warming propagandist has now been stopped, following a unanimous verdict that came down today through an arbitration proceeding conducted by Wikipedia. In the decision, a slap-down for the once-powerful Connolley by his peers, he has been barred from participating in any article, discussion or forum dealing with global warming. In addition, because he rewrote biographies of scientists and others he disagreed with, to either belittle their accomplishments or make them appear to be frauds, Wikipedia barred him — again unanimously — from editing biographies of those in the climate change field.
William Connelley was a fraud. The science is settled.
The subject of Marueen Dowd’s column was those awful Republican women, but the column said much more about the columnist than it did about its supposed subject.
Maureen Dowd, whose high school photo still accompanies her New York Times column, went off on a very revealing rant in her Sunday column.
The subject was those awful Republican women, but the column said much more about the columnist than it did about its supposed subject.
Maureen Dowd proves there is no class in the high school class of 1970
Call us armchair psychologists if you wish, but we believe Dowd’s column titled “Republican Mean Girls” was really about the angst of her high school years:
“Jan, Meg, Carly, Sharron, Linda, Michele, Queen Bee Sarah and sweet wannabe Christine — have co-opted and ratcheted up the disgust with the status quo that originally buoyed Barack Obama,” Dowd says.
“Whether they’re mistreating the help or belittling the president’s manhood, making snide comments about a rival’s hair or ripping an opponent for spending money on a men’s fashion show, the Mean Girls have replaced Hope with Spite and Cool with Cold.”
And here’s the money line: Those Republicans women are “grown-up versions of those teenage tormentors who would steal your boyfriend, spray-paint your locker and, just for good measure, spread rumors that you were pregnant.”
How bad were your high school years, liberal nerd girl? Why is it still so important that you were you a member of the audio-visual club, that you went to the prom with your cousin and that you never got to sit at the cool kids’ table in the cafeteria?
Oh, and one more thing: How long did that “Maureen is pregnant” rumor go on?
If you love a candidate with a sense of humor, you gotta love this new Joe Miller for Senate commercial from Alaska. It’s proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make a great commercial.

And as an added bonus, we think it’s kind of funny that a guy with a beard would do a parody of the Old Spice commercials.
Oh, how times have changed. Barack Obama, who used to fill stadiums with charged-up college students, is now about as popular on campus as a herpes outbreak.
Oh, how times have changed. Barack Obama, who used to fill stadiums with charged-up college students, is now about as popular on campus as a herpes outbreak.
Even the college kids have figured it out
The New York Daily News has the details:
College students’ support for the President is waning — a worrying sign for Democrats who are trying to re-energize young voters before the midterm elections, which are just a couple weeks away. Just 44% approve of the job Obama is doing, while 27% said they are unhappy with his job performance, according to a new Associated Press-mtvU poll.
That’s a significant dip from the 60% who gave the president high marks in a May 2009 poll. Only 15% of college goers had a negative opinion of him back then.
The education of Barack Obama has seen his GPA go into a steady decline. His latest report card shows a surprisingly low C in Public Speaking 401. A C- in Introduction to Golf. A D+ in Geography (he blew the final by answering “57” to the question “How many states are there?”). And, of course, an F in Economics 101.
CNBC can’t stomach Barney Frank’s “evolving position” on home ownership.
Make no mistake about it, when we say “evolving position,” we mean his butt-covering lie.
In 2005 Barney Frank said, “Those of us on our committee in particular will continue to push for home ownership.”
In 2010 Barney Frank’s position has mysteriously evolved into, “I was very much in disagreement with this push into home ownership, and I think the Federal government should not be artificially doing that.”
That was more than CNBC Power Lunch gang could take. They nailed Frank on his hypocrisy.
Democrats and the lapdog liberal media have spent many months attempting to paint Republicans and conservatives as extremists. Uh-oh. A new poll shows that the ploy has failed.
Democrats and the lapdog liberal media have spent many months attempting to paint Republicans and conservatives as extremists.
Uh-oh. A new poll shows that the ploy has failed and that likely voters in key battleground congressional districts think extremists hold more sway over Democrats than Republicans.
TheHill.com has the disturbing Democrat details:
This result comes from The Hill 2010 Midterm Election Poll, which found that 44 percent of likely voters say the Democratic Party is more dominated by its extreme elements; whereas 37 percent say it’s the Republican Party that is more dominated by extremists.
The revelations in a survey of 10 toss-up congressional districts across the country point to problems for Democrats, who are trying to motivate a disillusioned base and appeal to independents moving to the GOP ahead of the Nov. 2 election.
More than one in every five Democrats (22 percent) in The Hill’s survey said their party was more dominated than the GOP by extreme views. The equivalent figure among Republicans is 11 percent.
In the words of Nelson from the Simpsons, “Ha ha.” Oh, wait, we’re supposed to be serious journalists, not juvenile dickheads.
Don’t let it go to your head, Joe. It’s not a big f’n deal. In fact, considering how many bad decisions Obama’s made, it’s like bragging that you’re the skinniest guy on Biggest Loser.

But according to our in-depth analysis, Biden truly is Obama’s single best decision, narrowly nosing out Cash-For-Clunkers and bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia.
What a strange way for the Huffington Post to illustrate its story on “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” Careful, HuffPo, you’re walking on thin ice. Hasn’t Tom Cruise sued people for making the same accusation?

Everything you'd expect from a company called Government Motors. And less.
The folks at Jalopnik have all the fouled-up fuel economy figures:
First of all, let’s talk about fuel economy. In August of last year, we heard GM’s then-CEO Fritz Henderson claimed with all the marketing might it could muster at a Detroit-area press event, that the Chevy Volt would get 230 MPG in city driving conditions. Now, as the Volt’s being tested by the auto trade press, we’re seeing some surprisingly low fuel economy figures amid the expected lavish praise buff books are heaping upon the Volt.
Let’s see what they’ve found out. Popular Mechanics saw just 37.5 MPG in city driving. Car and Driver apparently didn’t choose to use their wheel time for any city driving — but found with all-electric driving:
“…getting on the nearest highway and commuting with the 80-mph flow of traffic-basically the worst-case scenario-yielded 26 miles; a fairly spirited back-road loop netted 31; and a carefully modulated cruise below 60 mph pushed the figure into the upper 30s.”
Motor Trend, like the rest of the trade press other than Popular Mechanics, didn’t appear to do any testing in city conditions, but did find that:
“Without any plugging in, [a weeklong trip to Grandma’s house] should return fuel economy in the high 30s to low 40s.”
They also parrot GM’s new line of 25-50 miles of all-electric — a far cry from the 230 MPG they originally marketed — that the “Volt provides 25-50 miles of real-world electric operation no matter how hard you flog it.”
Oh, big deal. A measly 500% off. Admit it – you’d be thrilled if Tim Geithner could come up with budget numbers that accurate.
Salon Editor Joan Walsh guested on Hardball, where despite video proof offered by host Chris Matthews that senate candidate Richard Blumenthal blatantly lied about serving in Vietnam, she said, “They’re distorting his words.”
Salon editor Joan Walsh should get down on her knees and say a prayer of thanks to whatever God she worships, for He, in his wisdom, endowed her with a blessed ignorance that protects her from seeing what a moron she is. Surely, if she had any degree of self-awareness she would never venture beyond the confines of her own home again, much less attempt to speak in public.
Walsh guested on Hardball, where despite video proof offered by host Chris Matthews that senate candidate Richard Blumenthal blatantly lied about serving in Vietnam, she said, “They’re distorting his words. It’s very difficult to say he lied.” In addition to being ignorant, she also made herself asinine by making those little finger quote motions around the word “lied.”
Save yourself the trouble of watching the entire clip. Go straight to the 6:58 mark of the video. (You owe us one.)
It gets even better at the 7:29 mark when Mathews, painful as it must have been for him, had no choice but to point out that Walsh was wrong, causing her to revert to an expression that one imagines monopolizes most of her face time – the confused dog/tilted head look.
Of course the true depth of Walsh’s “intelligence” was forever memorialized in an earlier video that went viral – her classic exchange with Mika Mxyzptlk, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe show.
Mika, the very model of vapidity, openly mocks Walsh right to her face. And let’s face it, when someone as dense as Mika finds you mockworthy, you must begin to realize just how low you reside on the evolutionary scale.
One day Bank of America admits its paperwork is screwed up and cancels all foreclosures in 28 states. The next day it cancels them in the rest of the 57 states. And the day after that, President Obama says foreclosures should continue.

Somebody get us a friggin’ scorecard, because it’s getting tough to tell who’s on which side of this fiasco.
You may end up staying in your house just because the foreclosure paperwork is so screwed up
We’d like to say CNN.com has the latest details, but this story’s moving so fast that it’s tough to know what the latest details might be.
Pressure is mounting on U.S. banks to halt more foreclosures amid widespread allegations that loan servicers failed to verify legal documents in what could be hundreds of thousands of cases.
Members of Congress from California wrote to the heads of the Justice Department, the Federal Reserve, and the Comptroller of the Currency on Tuesday, requesting that they investigate the foreclosure processes of banks under their purview for “possible violations of law or regulations.”
In Texas, the Attorney General’s office sent “suspension notices” to 30 loan servicers in the state, asking them to halt foreclosures until they have completed a review of their procedures. The Attorney General in Massachusetts also urged financial institutions in the state to put a hold on all foreclosures.
The moves come after Ally Financial, JPMorgan and Bank of America all announced plans last week to freeze foreclosures in the 23 U.S. states where they must be approved by the courts.
Foreclosures continue in the remaining 27 states, including California and Texas, where they are not subject to judicial review. Two other major financial institutions, Wells Fargo and Citigroup, have yet to halt any foreclosures.
Our advice? If you can’t make your house payment, do what Barney Frank did – take in a renter who can run a gay prostitution ring out of your basement. Your cut might just be big enough to make your monthly payment.
This isn’t one of those cases where the candidate can explain something away by saying it was a youthful indiscretion. It’s not like Christine O’Donnell saying she experimented with witchcraft in high school or even Chris Coons calling himself a bearded Marxist right after college.

Cue the song "Still Crazy After All These Years"
No, Governor Moonbeam was 55 years old and had already served two terms as California governor in 1995 when he said we need more welfare and fewer jobs.
Here’s the genius’s complete quote:
The conventional viewpoint says we need a jobs program and we need to cut welfare. Just the opposite! We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care. I’m talking about welfare for all. Without it, you’re going to have warfare for all. Without a universal health care like every other civilized country, without a minimum level of income, this country will explode. You can’t blame the guy at the bottom forever. At some point there’s a reaction and we’ll see that the real criminals are those calling the tune, making the rules, and walking to the bank.
Remarkably, Brown’s ahead in the polls. To which we can only say, elect this guy and you get what you deserve, California.
Wolf Blitzer asks Barbara Boxer about her record on tax cuts and the California Democrat’s answer is so preposterous that the CNN host realizes he can’t just stand by and let her get away with it.

And that’s when the fun begins. Boxer starts throwing out numbers, retracting numbers, correcting numbers, revising numbers, stuttering and stammering.
Good lord, this woman is IHateTheMedia.com’s senator. We’re doomed. Absolutely friggin’ doomed.
