Here’s a clip of Florida’s flipflopping U.S. sentate candidate Charlie Crist telling a crowd of supporters, “I used to be a Republican….Thank God, used to be.”
Of course, the only reason Crist “used to be” a Republican is that he’s getting his ass kicked in the polls by conservative Republican Marco Rubio.
The Democrat in the race, Kendrick Meeks, is running a very distant third in the polls and Crist was hoping to get unofficial support from the Democrats.
Better go to Plan C, Charlie, because “Today White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said that the White House ‘has fully embraced Kendrick Meek.’ Fitting that this comes on the day the President visited the city of Miami, where Meek represents the 17th district.”
In the words of the old StarKist commercials, “Sorry, Charlie.”
America honors its greatest leaders by putting their likenesses on its currency. We believe it’s high time that Barack Obama, The Greatest President In History, receives this same honor. Unfortunately, most of the bills are taken.
America honors its greatest leaders by putting their likenesses on its US currency. We believe it’s high time that Barack Obama, The Greatest President In History, receives this same honor. Unfortunately, most of the denominations are taken.
For example, a likeness of George Washington, our nation’s first president and leader of the American Revolution, graces the one dollar bill.
“Honest” Abe Lincoln, the revered leader who lead our nation through its darkest hour, appears on the five dollar bill.

“If the president gave me a half hour,” Babeu said, “I am confident that I could convince him and to show him the way that he can personally secure the border, and he would be the hero of everybody that truly transcends bipartisan politics and secures that border. I believe that if a leader truly wanted to do that we have the means and the resources necessary to secure our border and to protect America once and for all, and then we can get to the point in the future, only after the border is secure, that there is some type of discussion about what do we do with the approximate 13 million people who are here illegally.”
Pinal County, located in Southern Arizona is a major route for smugglers bringing narcotics and illegal aliens across the Mexican border.
C’mon, President Obama, you visited Afghanistan in an effort to pretend you care about that war. Don’t you owe it to the people of Arizona to at least fake it for them, too?

Cameron Diaz tops list of riskiest celeb searches
If you’re looking for Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts or Jessica Biel online, look out!
The movie stars top the latest list of the most dangerous celebrities to search for online, according to new research by computer-security software maker McAfee Inc.
It’s far from an Oscar, but landing atop McAfee’s annual list carries a distinction all its own: It means that criminals believe those celebs are the perfect lures to sucker people into visiting malicious websites.
Clicking onto strange sites is sketchy to begin with. But many people do, and their computers get infected. Once a computer is infected, criminals can steal victims’ online banking passwords, e-mail passwords, and do other kinds of nasty deeds.

Can’t work:
“New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly climbed to a nine-month high last week, yet another setback to the frail economic recovery. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits increased 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 500,000…”
Won’t work:

Tom Kent, the Associated Press’ Deputy Managing Editor for Standards and Production, laid down the law about what to call what everyone else calls the Ground Zero mosque. Or at least what not to call it.
Let's not call it the Ground Zero mosque because it's sooooo far away from Ground Zero
Aug. 19, 2010
Colleagues,
Here is some guidance on covering the NYC mosque story, with assists from Chad Roedemeier in the NYC bureau and Terry Hunt in Washington:
1. We should continue to avoid the phrase “ground zero mosque” or “mosque at ground zero” on all platforms. (We’ve very rarely used this wording, except in slugs, though we sometimes see other news sources using the term.) The site of the proposed Islamic center and mosque is not at ground zero, but two blocks away in a busy commercial area. We should continue to say it’s “near” ground zero, or two blocks away.
WE WILL CHANGE OUR SLUG ON THIS STORY LATER TODAY from “BC-Ground Zero Mosque” to “BC-NYC Mosque.”
In short headlines, some ways to refer to the project include:
• mosque 2 blocks from WTC site
• Muslim (or Islamic) center near WTC site
• mosque near ground zero
• mosque near WTC site
We can refer to the project as a mosque, or as a proposed Islamic center that includes a mosque.
Call it what you want, Tom, but the American people are going to call it the Ground Zero mosque.
Barney Frank knows a sinking ship when he’s on one. He actually used the word “dumb” while describing President Obama.
Portrait of a rat deserting a sinking ship
Barney Frank knows a sinking ship when he’s on one. He actually used the word “dumb” while describing President Obama.
The Hill has the money quote:
“President Obama, whom I greatly admire … when the economic recovery bill — we’re supposed to call it the ‘recovery bill,’ not the ‘stimulus’ bill; that’s what the focus groups tell us — he predicted or his aides predicted at the time that if it passed, unemployment would get under 8 percent,” Frank said Tuesday evening during an appearance on the Fox Business Network. “That was a dumb thing to do.”
It was dumb. Remarkably dumb. Perhaps even as dumb, Barney, as admitting on national television that Democrats allow focus groups to craft their message.
Two robots with surveillance, tracking, firing and voice recognition systems were integrated into a single unit, by South Korea to patrol the North Korean border.
Not just any old robots, mind you, but South Korean killer robots.
The Telegraph UK has the robotic report:
Bang! You're dead! South Korea's new high tech robot is reportedly based on an earlier American design.
Two robots with surveillance, tracking, firing and voice recognition systems were integrated into a single unit, a defence ministry spokesman said.
The 400 million won (£220,000) unit was installed last month at a guard post in the central section of the Demilitarised Zone which bisects the peninsula, Yonhap news agency said.
It quoted an unidentified military official as saying the ministry would deploy sentry robots along the world’s last Cold War frontier if the test was successful.
The robot uses heat and motion detectors to sense possible threats, and alerts command centres, Yonhap said.
If the command centre operator cannot identify possible intruders through the robot’s audio or video communications system, the operator can order it to fire its gun or 40mm automatic grenade launcher.
We’re picturing an army of these robots patrolling the Mexican border. Our version will kill jackrabbits for fuel so it can operate indefinitely. And it will have a voice chip that allows it to say, “¡Alto! Inmigración y Naturalización!

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz lives in some kind of alternate universe where Obama’s economic program is working.
When Poor Ed began raving about Government Motors positive earnings, he surely expected a good progressive like Huffington Post’s Leo Hindery to agree.
No so fast, Ed. Hindery quickly brought Ed back to reality.
“I love being on this show,” Hindery said. “But I’m going to push back a little bit on your accolade for GM. There will be more jobs created in Mexico by the Big Three automobile manufacturers than will be created here in the United States.”
Note the way the smile disappears from Ed’s pudgy little face.

Some critics have said the ultimate victory for Osama and the 9/11 hijackers would be to allow a mosque to be built near ground zero.
Actually, the ultimate victory for Osama and the 9/11 hijackers is the moral timidity that would ban a mosque from that neighborhood.
No, Maureen, you’re wrong. Very wrong. Osama’s ultimate victory would be the subjugation of every Christian, every Jew, every Hindu, every non-Muslim. Falling short of that, his back-up goal would be to slice their throats.
The ultimate victory here at IHTM would be for Maureen Dowd to use a photo on her column that was taken in the last two decades.
Uh-oh. Looks like Nancy Pelosi’s campaign to investigate those who are against the Ground Zero mosque won’t be getting any support from former DNC head Howard Dean.
Uh-oh. Looks like Nancy Pelosi’s campaign to investigate those who are against the Ground Zero mosque won’t be getting any support from former DNC head Howard Dean.
“I gotta believe there has to be a compromise here,” Dean told WABC Radio. “This isn’t about the rights of Muslims to have a worship center or Jews or Christians or anybody else to have a place to worship anywhere near Ground Zero. This is something we ought to be able to work out with people of good faith. And we have to realize that it is a real affront to people who lost their lives – including Muslims. That site doesn’t belong to an particular religion. It belongs to all Americans and all faiths. So I think a good, reasonable compromise could be worked out without violating the principal that people out to be able to worship as they see fit…I think another site might be a good idea.”
The topic was the Ground Zero mosque and Ratigan – surprise – supports the structure. He opined that New Yorkers like himself who walk past ground zero every day have no problem with the mosque.
Granted, pointing out hypocrisy on MSNBC is like shooting fish in a barrel, but sometimes it’s even easier than that. Sometimes the fish are already dead and just floating on top. Like on Monday’s Dylan Ratigan Show.
Dylan Ratigan gives Michelle Obama's resume a little "enhancement" here and there
The topic was the Ground Zero mosque and Ratigan – surprise – supports the structure. He opined that New Yorkers like himself who walk past ground zero every day have no problem with the mosque. It’s the people outside of the city, “like people from Alaska that say, ‘Oh my God, the sky is falling, the Muslims are going to kill us’ who stand against the building.”
After the cheap attempt to slag a quote on Sarah Palin for something that she never said, Ratigan offered no proof showing residents of the area agree with the building of the mosque. But this is MSNBC, where truth is irrelevant and facts are merely bothersome.
Ratigan suggested that people outside of NYC are clueless, that their opinions are uninformed and thus matter less than local residents’.
Contrast this with the same network’s coverage of Arizona’s anti-illegal alien law. Are the voices of the Arizona residents who live in danger because of elevated crime rates more relevant than the collective voices of the MSNBC hosts, all of whom stand in support of the federal government’s opposition to the Arizona law?
Will Ratigan’s network stop calling Arizonans who support the bill racists, since they live there and thus know better than outsiders?
Oooh, that was unfortunate. But in CNN’s defense, perhaps they were referring to the shit storm that’s erupted over President Obama’s contradictory comments about the mosque.
Oooh, that was unfortunate. But in CNN’s defense, perhaps they were referring to the shit storm that’s erupted over President Obama’s contradictory comments about the mosque. Or perhaps they’re referring to the shits who want to build the mosque. Or maybe the people at CNN are just a bunch of dumb shits.
Rather than trying to describe the Blow Up Barack blowup doll ourselves, let’s just go with a censored version of the product description found on the seller’s website.
This is a real product and you can buy it via the link at the bottom of this story. So rather than trying to describe it ourselves, let’s just go with a censored version of the product description found on the seller’s website:
Blow-Up Barack presidential love doll. He f**ked the economy, now you can f**k him back! He’ll batter your bush. Visit his oval orifice. He’s got a presidential-sized power tool! He’s the clear winner in this year’s presidential erection. He’s got the biggest presidential staff ever!
They left out three things:
“Like the original, it’s completely full of hot air”
“Endorsed by Barney Frank.”
And “For a small additional change, MSNBC host Chris Matthews will deliver your Barack Obama Blow-Up Love Doll and personally inflate it.”
It really is amazing that Nancy Pelosi represents a “safe” Democrat seat, because the woman is positively Orwellian. She thinks anyone who opposes the Ground Zero mosque should be investigated.

“There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said. “How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we’ve been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City.”
Poor Nancy. After throwing trillions of tax dollars in a misguided attempt to save the economy, she seems to a bit confused by the concept of opposition that’s funded privately.
This video, produced by the Republican Study Committee, hows the remarkable contrast the philosophy of Ronald Reagan and the band of socialist bandits who now (temporarily) run the country.

This shows the remarkable contrast the philosophy of Ronald Reagan and the band of socialist bandits who now (temporarily) run the country.

On This Week, she said she believes President Obama “very clearly” endorsed the Ground Zero Mosque in his remarks at last week’s White House Ramadan Dinner. Then she called his clarification of those remarks “silly.”
“He’s already taken all the flak for having said it,” Roberts said. “It’s silly.”
That’s where Cokie is wrong. He hasn’t even begun to see the flak yet. And neither has his party.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm is delusional. Completely delusional.
She went off on Rush Limbaugh yesterday, calling him “un-American” because the talk show titan had the nerve to call the Chevy Volt a lemon.
Actually, it was the New York Times that called it “General Motors Electric Lemon”, but why quibble about facts when you’re defending a $41,000 car that will only go 40 miles on a charge?

Good news! President Obama says the Gulf Coast is "Open for Business."
Well, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar still has his boot on the throats of America’s evil oil barons and offshore drilling is still illegal, so it seems that that the President may be overstating his case.
The White House should refer back to a Yahoo News story from July 27 that cites some very interesting economic predictions.
According to AFP:
A study by Louisiana State University finance professor Joseph Mason estimates the six-month moratorium, which ends in late November, would cost more than 8,000 jobs in Gulf states of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.
Nearly 500 million dollars in wages will be wiped out by the deepwater drilling ban, as will be 2.1 billion dollars in economic activity and some 100 million dollars in state and local tax revenues.
But the impact of the moratorium would not stop there, the study warned.
At least 12,000 jobs could be lost nationwide, and with them would go around 200 million dollars in federal tax revenues.
We’re eagerly awaiting the President’s explanation of his comments. But we’re pretty sure the “business” he refers to is probably nothing more than another government-sponsored bailout program.
Just in case there’s anyone left out there who doesn’t think South Caroline senate candidate Alvin Greene is, shall we say, different, this video clip should change your mind.

Alvin turned away a TV reporter at his front door, so the reporter began talking to his brother in the front yard. Alvin’s response? He began howling from inside the house.
“Noooooooooooooooooooo. Noooooooooooooooooo.”
Far as we’re concerned, this makes Alvin Greene a leader. He’s merely demonstrating the mournful sound so many other Democrat candidates are going to be making on the night of November 2.

Republican candidates have jumped out to a record-setting 12-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, August 15, 2010. This is the biggest lead the GOP has held in over a decade of Rasmussen Reports surveying.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely Voters would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate, while 36% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Support for Republicans is up two points from the previous week, while support for Democrats dropped three points.Republicans have led on the Generic Congressional Ballot since June of last year, and their lead hasn’t fallen below five points since the beginning of December. Three times this year, they’ve posted a 10-point lead. Prior to this survey, GOP support since June 2009 has ranged from 41% to 47%. Support for Democrats in the same period has run from 35% to 40%.
Eighty-three percent (83%) of Republicans back their party’s candidate, while 75% of Democrats support the candidate of their party. Voters not affiliated with either party prefer the GOP candidate by a 52% to 21% margin.Fifty-four percent (54%) of white voters favor the Republican, but 77% of African-Americans prefer the Democrat.

Gulp.
That’s the sound being heard in the White House as they review the numbers in the latest Gallup poll. It shows that every – repeat, every – income group now gives President Obama an approval rating of less than 50%. Even those making less than $2,000 per month have finally tired of the guy.
This is the first time Obama that all four income groups in Gallup’s weekly survey gave Obama less than 50 percent approval.
Imagine how heartbreaking it must be when you finally realize that Obama’s not going to pay for your house and your gasoline.
Spain’s government-backed REVE electric car and wind power project said 15 cars had been sold so far this year, in addition to one last year.
Its power source is electric, but its sales are anemic
There was an old Cold War joke about a two-man footrace staged between John Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev. JFK won the race handily and the next day Soviet newspapers reported, “Khrushchev defeated all but one competitor in the big race, Kennedy finishes next to last.”
Consider that the inspiration for the headline on this story about sales of electric cars in Spain. The BBC reports that:
Spain’s plans to have 2,000 electric cars on the road by the end of 2010 have been dealt a blow as figures showed just 16 have been sold.
The government-backed REVE electric car and wind power project said 15 cars had been sold so far this year, in addition to one last year.
They’ve sold 16 electric cars in the whole country in two years. At this rate, Spain’s electric car owners club could hold its annual convention one good-sized, gas-guzzling SUV.
If electric car sales are this anemic in an enlightened European country like Spain, what are the odds that a big car lovin’ country like the United States will be able to meet President Obama’s goal of having 1,000,000 plug-in hybrids on the road by 2015?

There’s a rebellion brewing in state houses across the country. To paraphrase Network, people are mad as hell about illegal aliens and they aren’t going to take it anymore.
Now Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, who’s running for governor, has proposed an anti-illegal alien law that’s even tougher than Arizona’s.
Reuters reports the anti-illegal immigration information:
Wimpy-looking guy introduces tough bill
“Florida will not be a sanctuary state for illegal aliens,” McCollum, who was accompanied by state Representative Will Synder, said in a statement that also gave details of the proposed law.
The legislation would require law enforcement officials to check a suspected illegal immigrant’s status in the course of a stop, or a violation of another law.
This goes beyond the existing situation in the state where officers are allowed to check for immigration status, but not required to.
Florida, especially its southern portion, is a major U.S. migration destination for nationals from the Caribbean and Latin America, making it a cultural and racial melting-pot.
McCollum’s office said the proposed Florida immigration legislation goes “one step further” than a similar law recently introduced in Arizona, which has triggered protests and a constitutional challenge from President Barack Obama’s administration.
The Major League Baseball Players union has protested the Arizona law and some players say they may boycott next Sumer’s all-star game in Phoenix. They may want to rethink this, because at the rate states are proposing Arizona-like laws, they may run out of places to play.
