Prince Charles, nerdiest man on the planet says, “We are making it cool to use less stuff”

Irish filmmakers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinny taking on Britian’s embarrassing Prince Charles. Prince Charles, hypocrite,” skewers the haughty Prince.

Just how hypocritical is Prince Charles? We’ve documented his eco hypocrisy many times here at IHateTheMedia.com.

In this case, though, we bow to the masters. Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinny are two Irish film makers who have made a series of short films exposing celebrity eco-hypocrites. Some of their previous targets include James Cameron and Robert Redford.

Now they’re taking on Britian’s embarrassing Prince Charles. Their latest effort, “Prince Charles, hypocrite,” skewers the haughty Prince for living in several palaces and roaming the world in private jets and luxurious yachts while demanding that the rest of us “live with less.”

What could be funnier than this pompous ass, this royal nerd, this harebrained heir, telling anyone what’s cool and what isn’t.

Fonzi, he ain’t.

Bond guru Bill Gross: If you want to save your financial butt, put your money in Canada or Australia

Famed bond-fund manager Bill Gross argued in favor of non-dollar-denominated emerging-market debt, such as in Canada and Australia.

The Editor and the Administrator have an on-going debate about the best way to survive the looming financial Armageddon. The Administrator opts for gold while the Editor opts for Aussie dollars.

Looks like Bill Gross, the Warren Buffet of bonds, sides with the Editor on this one.

bill-gross
Bond guru Bill Gross tells you how to avoid financial Armagedon

NOTE: The Editor is a well-known financial moron and this may well be a case of a blind pig finding an acorn.

The Wall Street Journal has the details:

Famed bond-fund manager Bill Gross argued in favor of non-dollar-denominated emerging-market debt, saying low interest rates such as those in the U.S. coupled with inflation represent “an immediate threat” to investment portfolios.

Gross, in his monthly missive on Pacific Investment Management Co.’s website, continued his argument against a policy of keeping interest rates low, which he has said would end up losing money for investors. Tuesday, he warned developed economies are in a position to use so-called financial repression to reduce debt-to-GDP ratios at the expense of bond investors.

Investors could see increasing negative real yields due to accelerating inflation, he said.

Gross said Pimco advocates alternatives such as developing-market debt at higher yields denominated in non-dollar currencies. He noted that many such issuers offer “pristine” balance sheets and attractive real interest rates.

“If AAA quality is your requirement, then Canadian or Australian bonds may also fit your horizon,” he added.

Pimco has dumped all U.S. government-related holdings from the Total Return Fund, the world’s biggest bond fund.

In interest of full disclosure, it should also be noted that Mrs. Editor once worked at Pimco and had a very close relationship with Gross, as told in the comments of this earlier article.

Liberal journalists working overtime to create image of Obama the Warrior

We’d say liberal journalists are attempting to create the image of Obama the Warrior “for some unknown reason,” but we all know the reason.

We’d say liberal journalists are attempting to create the image of Obama the Warrior “for some unknown reason,” but we all know the reason:

He’s weak on defense and terrorism and as November 2012 draws near they’ll do anything they can do bolster his credentials.

Are we exaggerating? Hardly. Here’s Margaret Carlson on MSNBC’s Morning Joe doing exactly as we said.

Scarborough: We’ll have time to get to the nitpicking. But should this not be about Barack Obama making a decisive decision when the rest of his cabinet wasn’t sure whether he should do it or not?

Carlson: We’re not asking for a Hollywood movie. We’re just asking for a moment when Professor Obama turned into General Obama and ran this incredible raid. That took a lot of guts, the kind of thing you do see in a Hollywood movie.

General Obama?

Surely, you say, this is an isolated incident. This can’t possibly be an on-going liberal theme.

Well, here’s Howard Fineman in the Huffington Post:

By calmly and meticulously overseeing the successful targeting of Osama bin Laden, President Barack Obama just proved himself — vividly, in almost Biblical terms — to be an effective commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the United States.

Biblical, Howard?

The only thing biblical about it is that it’s such an overstatement that it causes us to say, “Good lord.”

Unbelievable: White House asks small California newspaper to edit remark about First Lady

someone in the White House found time to complain to a small California newspaper about a throwaway comment about Michelle Antoinette buried in an article about the Marine One helicopter.

One would think the folks at the White House would have full plates these days what with three wars, impending economic implosion, terrorism and the like.

Nevertheless, someone in the White House found time to complain to a small California newspaper about a throwaway comment about Michelle Antoinette buried in an article about the Marine One helicopter.

michelle-obama
Making eye contact with the First Lady would make even the bravest Marine pilot quake in his combat boots

The Daily Caller has the details:

… Gina Channell-Allen, president of the Pleasanton Weekly in Pleasanton, California, said that her paper “received a call from the White House asking us to take out part of the story because it reflected poorly on the First Lady.”

The story in question was a soft feature about Marine One titled, “Inside Marine One, President Obama’s helicopter,” that ran in the paper on April 20. Pleasanton staffer Amory Gutierrez “didn’t get to ride in ‘Marine One,’” she wrote in her story, “but I did get the VIP tour and took photographs of the otherwise unseen aircraft.”

She also wrote a sentence that the White House thought made FLOTUS look snooty.

“Basically the reporter said that the First Lady didn’t speak to the pilots but acknowledged them by making eye contact,” Allen wrote in her email.

Allen says she “complied” with the White House’s request “because it was not worth making a fuss over.”

She added, “I thought it was interesting, though, that the [White House] was concerned enough about image to contact a little weekly paper in Pleasanton.”

The Pleasanton Weekly should consider itself lucky that the administration chose to handle this with a phone call from the White House. It could easily have been a phone call from the IRS.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, the only man in Washington, DC who could make us miss Robert Gibbs, put on quite a performance Tuesday.

One reporter asked if enhanced interrogation techniques – otherwise known as waterboarding – had provided us with information that lead us to Osama Bin Laden’s lair.

Carney refused to answer the question directly, insisting that we got the information from a number of sources.

Can waterboarding force a congenital liar to tell the truth? Carney virtually begs to be the subject of a scientific investigation.

FDA busts Pennsylvania gang selling dangerous, illegal white liquid to children

This is another one of those stories that sounds as if it was cooked up in the minds of the guys over at the Onion. Unfortunately, it’s 100% true.

This is another one of those stories that sounds as if it was cooked up in the minds of the guys over at the Onion. Unfortunately, it’s 100% true.

The Washington Times reports the shocking details:

A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area.

amish-dairy-cow
Unindicted co-conspirator in the FDA's Pennsylvania drug bust

The product in question: unpasteurized milk.

It’s a battle that’s been going on behind the scenes for years, with natural foods advocates arguing that raw milk, as it’s also known, is healthier than the pasteurized product, while the Food and Drug Administration says raw milk can carry harmful bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria.

“It is the FDA’s position that raw milk should never be consumed,” said Tamara N. Ward, spokeswoman for the FDA, whose investigators have been looking into Rainbow Acres for months, and who finally last week filed a 10-page complaint in federal court in Pennsylvania seeking an order to stop the farm from shipping across state lines any more raw milk or dairy products made from it.

The farm’s owner, Dan Allgyer, didn’t respond to a message seeking comment, but his customers in the District of Columbia and Maryland were furious at what they said was government overreach.

“I look at this as the FDA is in cahoots with the large milk producers,” said Karin Edgett, a D.C. resident who buys directly from Rainbow Acres. “I don’t want the FDA and my tax dollars to go to shut down a farm that hasn’t had any complaints against it. They’re producing good food, and the consumers are extremely happy with it.”

C’mon, folks, this is one of those cases where we have to get behind the Food and Drug Administration. We cannot allow the lawless Amish to run loose on the country lanes of America. Next thing you know they’ll be terrorizing law abiding citizens with those damn horse drawn buggies.

We have become wimps. Completely embarrassing wimps. There’s simply no other way to describe it.

We have become wimps. Completely embarrassing wimps. There’s simply no other way to describe it. BigPeace.com has the details of an unbelievable story out of the Guantanamo terrorist prison:

gitmo-flag
Don't let the sight of an American flag offend the little darlings at Gitmo

In an especially well-timed release this week, Richard Miniter’s MASTERMIND: The Many Faces of the 9/11 Architect, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed reveals Mohammed’s rise to the top of Al Qaeda and his planning of the jihadist attacks on America in 2001.More than that, though, Miniter’s book includes shocking new disclosures about how the US treats its detainees. Miniter tells Big Peace:

I was stunned to learn while researching Mastermind that Guantanamo detainees succeeded in convincing prison officials to no longer raise the American flag anywhere they could see it. Each morning on every U.S. military base around the world, the American flag is raised to a bugle. But in the interests of not offending the detainees, it was stopped at Guantanamo.

Hide it? We think not. We should surround the damn prison yard with flag poles and raise the Stars & Stripes one at a time every morning as a team of buglers play Reveille over and over again.

They’re illiterate friggin’ prisoners mysteriously transported from the 13th century. Who cares what offends them?

Historic: Joy Behar speaks the dumbest words ever spoken on The View

Fox Nation reveals Behar’s buffoonery:

“The View” ladies discussed the effectiveness of coercive interrogation today and Joy Behar claimed, “there are other ways of getting information out of people . . . pay them off!” Ms. Behar said offering a terrorist a “$6 million book deal” may work just as well as waterboarding them. Sherri Shepherd interrupted and passionately defended CIA agents who do what’s necessary to protect average citizens . . . which actually ignited a hearty ovation from left-leaning “View” crowd.

We should convince terrorists to talk by giving them a book deal? Like we said, the stupidest thing ever said on The View, surpassing the former record holder, Whoopi Goldberg’s comment that Roman Polanski’s crime wasn’t rape rape.

Congratulations to Ms Behar. This is the TV equivalent of breaking Babe Ruth’s homerun record.

Oops. Turns out waterboarding does work and we initially learned the the identify of the courier who lead us to Osama Bin Laden from Sheikh Khalid Mohammed during a waterboarding session.

Here’s what then Senator Obama said about waterboarding back in October 2007:

“The secret authorization of brutal interrogations is an outrageous betrayal of our core values, and a grave danger to our security. We must do whatever it takes to track down and capture or kill terrorists, but torture is not a part of the answer – it is a fundamental part of the problem with this administration’s approach. Torture is how you create enemies, not how you defeat them. Torture is how you get bad information, not good intelligence. Torture is how you set back America’s standing in the world, not how you strengthen it.”

And here’s an equally incensed Senator Joe Biden saying the same thing on Face The Nation:

Conservatives kick ass in Canada, win unassailable majority in Parliament

The geniuses in Canada’s Liberal party thought they had Conservative Prime Minster Stephen Harper right where they wanted him. So they forced him to call for new Parliamentary elections in an attempt to oust him from office.

The election was held on Monday and the Liberal scheme worked about as well as most liberal schemes do.

stephen harper
Thumbs up for Canadian Conservatives, who now hold a majority in Parliament

Reuters has the story of today’s Liberal lamentations:

Canada’s Conservatives stormed to a decisive victory in Monday’s federal election, winning 54 percent of the seats in Parliament and securing a stable four-year term in power after vowing to focus on the economy.

The Conservatives grabbed 167 seats in Canada’s Parliament, well above the 155 they needed to transform their minority government into a majority, according to provisional results. They won about 40 percent of the vote, beating expectations.

The victory, a relief for Canadian financial markets, left support for the separatist Bloc Quebecois in tatters and the party’s leader without a seat. Bloc Quebecois advocates independence for the province of Quebec.

Things did not go as expected for the Liberals. Instead of winning the night, they now find themselves reduced to an embarrassing third place finish.

“What a great night. … Canadians can now turn the page on the uncertainties and the repeat elections of the past seven years and focus on building a great future,” Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper told a victory rally in Calgary, Alberta early on Tuesday morning.

American liberals are now shouting “Obama got Osama” and wishing our election could be held today.

We suspect they’d be in for a surprise almost as big as the one Canadian Liberals found.

Professor Andrew Linzey doesn't want you to insult your companion animals

The Telegraph UK has the idiotic info:

Domestic dogs, cats, hamsters or budgerigars should be rebranded as “companion animals” while owners should be known as “human carers”, they insist.

Even terms such as wildlife are dismissed as insulting to the animals concerned – who should instead be known as “free-living”, the academics including an Oxford professor suggest.

The call comes from the editors of then Journal of Animal Ethics, a new academic publication devoted to the issue.

It is edited by the Revd Professor Andrew Linzey, a theologian and director of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics, who once received an honorary degree from the Archbishop of Canterbury for his work promoting the rights of “God’s sentient creatures”.

In its first editorial, the journal – jointly published by Prof Linzey’s centre and the University of Illinois in the US – condemns the use of terms such as ”critters” and “beasts”.

We would call these guys dumbshits, but that would probably be considered insulting to shit.

But at least one player requested that the uniforms be worn Monday night to honor the military in the wake of the slaying of Osama Bin Laden and to recognize the on-going war against terrorism.

There could be a moment of silence to honor the military personnel who have given up their lives in the pursuit of terrorists.

Go, Padres.

Gloria Allred demonstrates anal sex on TV

Publicity whore attorney Gloria Allred has done some very strange things over the years, but this one is right up there at the top of the list.

Publicity whore attorney Gloria Allred has done some very strange things over the years, but this one is right up there at the top of the list.

Why, you may ask yourself, is Gloria Allred simulating anal sex with a baseball bat during a press conference. The explanation follows the clip.

And now, if you’ve fully recovered from the shock of what you just saw, here’s the full video that explains what the hell Allred was doing.

http://youtu.be/MKTSiH4bDtY

In case you are like us and can’t stomach the thought of watching two Gloria Allred video clips in one day, here’s the story:

The Atlanta Braves were playing the San Francisco Giants. Allred’s client was at the game with his two young daughters.

For some unexplained reason, Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell allegedly began screaming “homophobic slurs” at the San Francisco fans. Oh, if only the idiot had stopped there. But no, he is also accused of using a nearby baseball bat to simulate anal sex.

Allred’s client naturally took offense and complained that the coach’s words and actions were offensive to his two young daughters. We have to agree. The irate McDowell allegedly responded by screaming, “Kids don’t f@¢king belong at the baseball park.”

Allred, always in search of a TV camera, held a press conference Wednesday to demanded that McDowell and the Braves apologize and be fined.

Unfortunately, that press conference quickly strayed from the normal Allred publicity seeking circus into the land of the truly bizarre. She read the transcript of McDowell’s alleged remarks aloud while reenacting the event with her client while his two young girls tried to pretend they were somewhere else. Anywhere else.

What happened at the ballpark was bad enough. But we’re still trying to figure out why anyone would subject their young daughters to the humiliation of this press conference.

Apparently Gloria believes everyone wants to be in front of a camera as much as she does.

In a weird sort of way you have to admire the New York Times' commitment to deficit spending

The Boston Globe reported Friday that a businessman is preparing to offer more than $200 million to buy the struggling newspaper from its owner, The New York Times Co.

The Boston Globe said Aaron Kushner will make a formal offer within the next few weeks for the Times Co.’s New England Media Group, which includes the Boston Globe, Boston.com, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette of central Massachusetts and Telegram.com.

… The Times Co., whose holdings include The New York Times and International Herald Tribune in addition to The Boston Globe, sought a buyer for the Globe in 2009 but failed to receive bids attractive enough to merit a sale.

The Times Co. bought the Boston Globe for $1.1 billion in 1993 but the value of the newspaper has plummeted since then, along with the fortunes of the US newspaper industry.

To review: The Times paid $1.1 billion and is selling for $200 million. In other words, they lost $900 million on this nifty little transaction. In other other words, they lost 82% of their original investment.

These geniuses have a big future in the Obama administration.

Attendance at immigration reform rallies falls from hundreds of thousands to hundreds

Osama Bin Laden wasn’t the only death on Sunday. May Day immigration reform rallies across the country died, too.

Osama Bin Laden wasn’t the only death on Sunday. May Day immigration reform rallies across the country died, too.

In Los Angeles, for example, organizers boasted that 50,000 energized protesters would rally for immigration reform in on May Day. In reality, only a few hundred showed up.

phone-booth
At the rate they're going, immigration protest organizers will be able to hold their next rally in this phone booth

The Los Angeles Times reports the sad news:

There were American flags, union banners and vendors hawking treats such as ice cream and hot dogs wrapped in bacon.

But what was missing from this year’s May Day march on a crystal-clear Sunday morning were the crowds.

By 10 a.m. only a few hundred immigrant rights and labor activists had gathered at Broadway and Olympic Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles to rally public support for legislation that would legalize the nation’s 11 million illegal immigrants.

“It’s really sad,” Luis Ortiz, an ice cream vendor who has been coming to the rallies for the last 15 years, said of the small turnout. “I’ve sold very little, almost nothing.”

Similar sparsely attended rallies were held in other major cities across the country.

You know your movement’s in trouble when you draw more vendors than protesters.

Zombies against Social Security cuts: Perhaps the most ineffective protest we've ever seen

MyFoxOrlando.com has the overview of the overzealous:

A group of “zombies” gathered outside 8th District Republican Congressman Daniel Webster’s office on Thursday. They weren’t looking for “brains” to eat though. The protesters wore heavy make-up to get in character. They’re members of a group called “Organize Now.”

They describe themselves as an issue-based, community action group. They’re upset that Webster’s supporting Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan’s budget plan. It includes deep cuts to social security, Medicare and Medicaid. The group says they dressed as zombies to dramatize their message for Webster.

“Organize Now” member Mike Cantone says, “We’re saying don’t work us ’til we die under the Ryan budget, which Congressman Webster did vote for. This budget would eliminate Medicare as we know it and turn it into a voucher system. It would slash Medicaid benefits to seniors, children and people with disabilities who depend on it. And it threatens the future of social security that we all pay into.”

Don’t look now, kids, but the social security that we all pay into is already broke. Politicians have been raiding it for decades. It’s dead as the zombies you’re pretending to be. And it ain’t coming back to life without Ryan’s plan.

We suggest that Republicans stage a counter protest dressed as vampires, symbolizing the government’s on-going effort to suck the lifeblood out of every tax paying citizen.

Give him credit for originality: Bloomberg plan would allow illegal aliens to move to Detroit

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, would like to pass a law letting immigrants come in as long as they agree to move to Detroit and live there.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a man who fancies himself presidential material, came up with a very odd plan on Sunday’s Meet the Press.

He thinks we could reinvigorate Detroit by allowing illegal aliens to move there. Sort of a free pass, a get out of jail free green card.

Let’s let Bloomberg explain it himself:

“If I were the federal government, assuming you could wave a magic wand and pull everybody together, you pass a law letting immigrants come in as long as they agree to go to Detroit and live there for five or ten years.”

It’s sort of like just eliminating the United States off the map and moving Tijuana up there next to Canada.

Remember just a few months ago when using the word target was so offensive that it caused Democrats to swoon? Well, times have changed in California.

The Contra Costa Times tells the vivid tale of violent imagery:

If you won't vote for higher taxes, John Burton thinks you should be shot

John Burton, the state Democratic Party chairman, came under fire Friday for suggesting Gov. Jerry Brown “try shooting” a Republican to persuade them to vote for taxes.

In an interview with Bay Area News Group this week, Burton said Brown “can try shooting somebody and tell the next guy, ‘You don’t want that to happen to you, you better step up and vote.’ “… What’s Jerry going to do unless he took out a gun?”

What have those evil Republicans done to so outrage the state’s top Democrat?

They’ve refused to vote for tax increases.

Why shooting’s too good for those bastards. They should be horse whipped. Drawn and quartered. Maybe even forced to watch old Arnold Scharzenegger campaign speeches.

Strangest concept ever: Will Barack Obama become the next King of England?

Is there a fear that Barack and Michelle would appear to the “black Commonwealth” as superior to Charles and Camilla as future leaders of the Commonwealth.

Wikipedia calls Geoffrey Robertson “an Australian-born human rights lawyer, academic, author and broadcaster who holds dual Australian and British citizenship.”

Based on his recent article in Australia’s National Times, we’d call him a lunatic.

obama-king
And Joe Biden can be the court jester!

It is an open secret at the Commonwealth Secretariat that they do not want Charles III to be the next head of the Commonwealth when the Queen retires—they are looking for someone more inspiring. Mandela, once the favourite candidate, is now too old. But there is an even better candidate whose name is being mentioned as an alternative to Charles in due course, namely ex-President Obama, with his Kenyan ancestry (as some believe, Kenyan birth).

There are rumours that the palace’s refusal to invite him to the wedding was neither oversight nor overslight but a fear that Barack and Michelle would appear to the “black Commonwealth” as superior to Charles and Camilla as future leaders of the Commonwealth.

They’ll make a movie about his life. It’ll be called “The King’s Endless Speeches.”
