Most transparent administration in history axes Transparency Czar

And now we bid a fond farewell to any pretense of transparency in the Obama administration. The One, who came into office claiming that his would be the most transparent administration in history, has now officially eliminated the job of the man who was in charge of it. Transparency, that is.

And now we bid a fond farewell to any pretense of transparency in the Obama administration. The One, who came into office claiming that his would be the most transparent administration in history, has now officially eliminated the job of the man who was in charge of it. Transparency, that is.

The Washington Examiner has the opaque details:

President Obama has abolished the position in his White House dedicated to transparency and shunted those duties into the portfolio of a partisan ex-lobbyist who is openly antagonistic to the notion of disclosure by government and politicians.

Obama transferred “ethics czar” Norm Eisen to the Czech Republic to serve as U.S. ambassador. Some of Eisen’s duties will be handed to Domestic Policy Council member Steven Croley, but most of them, it appears, will shift over to the already-full docket of White House Counsel Bob Bauer.

Got that? Transparency is now the responsibility of Obama’s attorney. And you know how transparent attorneys are.

Liberal Washington Post columnist says the American left is “deranged”

Liberal Washington Post columnist (pardon our redundancy) Ruth Marcus saw Gibbs comment and raised him one by telling Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie that the left and the blogosphere are “deranged” because they just expect so much of President Obama. He’s only human, damn it, people!

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs caught hell last week for stating that “the Professional Left is on drugs.”

Got that? It’s taken 19 months, but Obama has finally gone from Superman to “He’s only human.”

At the rate he’s going, in another 19 months they’ll be saying, “He’s only Kenyan!”

Second rate conservative talk show host disses third rate liberal talk show host, hilarity ensues

The scene: One of those seemingly endless shows on CNN. The participants: conservative talkers Hugh Hewitt and Dana Loesch, lib talker Stephanie Miller, and an unidentified black woman.

Miller is, perhaps, our least favorite liberal talk show host. Despite a 20-year history of lousy ratings everywhere she’s taken her show, she continues to get jobs because she’s supposedly funny.

Yet in this case, it was Hewitt who scored highest on the laugh-o-meter.

Miller: Hugh, I’m going to play this tape of you on my radio show after you’re wrong in November.
Hewitt: Good, nobody will hear it.
Loesch: Ohhhhhhhh!

Miller’s 13 listeners were reportedly offended by Hewitt’s comment.

For months, the media’s been pounding home the meme that the Tea Party is filled with extremists and racists who live out their angry lives far beyond the American mainstream.

And now new research shows that those idiot Americans have ignored the media and made up their own minds about Reid and Pelosi?

harry reid nancy pelosi
Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Less popular than the Tea Party, marginally more popular than gonorrhea

Damn it, people, why do you refuse to cooperate with your intellectual superiors in the media?

The Hill reports the people’s preferences:

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed that 30 percent view the grassroots conservative groups very or somewhat positively compared to 34 percent who view them very or somewhat negatively.

But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was seen positively by 21 percent of those polled and 46 percent viewed her negatively. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) received a lower positive rating, 11 percent, but also a lower negative rating of 31 percent.

The numbers indicate that the public is dissatisfied with the way Congress has been run; 32 percent believe that this Congress’ overall performance and accomplishments are “one of the worst.” Only 4 percent say that Congress has done above average or excellent work.

So remind us once again – who are the extremists?

Maxine Waters bitten in the butt by her own words (pardon us for the hideous mental image)

Here’s corrupt Congresswoman Maxine Waters from back in 1994, talking about that awful Newt Gingrich and how he should be tarred and feathered and driven out of the House. Or words to that effect.

Here’s corrupt Congresswoman Maxine Waters from back in 1994, talking about that awful Newt Gingrich and how he should be tarred and feathered and driven out of the House. Or words to that effect.

“Well, it’s about time. Believe me, the American public does not believe in double standards. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. No one should be so big, so important, so powerful that they can violate the rules of this House and the laws of this country without suffering the consequences. Newt may be Speaker but, he too must account for any and all wrongdoing. It’s about time let’s get on with the business of finding out who Newt Gingrich really is.”

This may be the first time we’ve ever agreed with a corrupt person of color congress.

Proof that Obama would have handled Katrina better than Bush did

Despite repeated warnings, that bumbling George Bush couldn’t convince New Orleans residents to evacuate before Hurricane Katrina came ashore. Democrats have spent the intervening years saying that anyone could have handled disaster more successfully.

Despite repeated warnings, that bumbling George Bush couldn’t convince New Orleans residents to evacuate before Hurricane Katrina came ashore. Democrats have spent the intervening years saying that anyone could have handled disaster more successfully.

Now there’s proof that nobody can get people out of town better than Barack Obama. Want proof? Just look at the way Texas Democrats – led by gubernatorial candidate Bill White – fled Dallas and Austin just before the President arrived.

The Star-Telegram reports the greatest mass migration since the Jews left Egypt:

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White said he never considered changing his campaign schedule Monday to catch up with President Barack Obama, who is attending private fundraisers in Austin and Dallas.

Instead, White will start the day by talking to Texans in Midland and end it by participating in the Pioneers and Old Settlers Reunion parade in Alvarado.

“This has been scheduled quite a while,” White said Friday after talking to the Rotary Club of Fort Worth. “In general, we tend to make a schedule and keep a schedule. We have a pretty disciplined campaign. But there’s no disrespect intended toward the president.”

Republican Gov. Rick Perry, on the other hand, plans to greet Obama at Austin-Bergstrom Airport when the president arrives in Austin on Monday, Perry spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger said Friday.

Perry had asked the White House for a meeting with the president to talk about what Perry calls Obama’s “grossly insufficient” allocation of National Guard troops for the Texas border, among other issues. Now Perry hopes to be able to tell Obama about some of the problems during the brief greeting Monday.

Don’t bother, Rick. The mere mention of the word “border” will send Obama fleeing town like the Democrat he is.

So lunatic Florida Congressman Alan Grayson counterattacks by saying Gibbs should be fired.

This is like watching the 1980s war between Iraq and Iran. You don’t really want either of them to win. You just want to see them keep fighting until they both drop from exhaustion.

Tuesday: Swine flu epidemic officially ends. Wednesday: Scientists find new superbug spreading from India

Just as it looked like the government funding gravy train of Swine Flu was going off the tracks, scientists have discovered a new disease that’s going to kill every man, woman, child.

Advanced electron microscopy gives scientists their first look at the elusive new Indian superbug

On Tuesday, the World Health Organization declared an end to the dreaded swine flu epidemic. Just as it looked like the government funding gravy train was going off the tracks, scientists have discovered a new disease that’s going to kill every man, woman, child on the face of the earth. Whew! Just in the nick of time.

Reuters has the details of the deadly disease:

A new superbug could spread around the world after reaching Britain from India — in part because of medical tourism — and scientists say there are almost no drugs to treat it.

Researchers said on Wednesday they had found a new gene called New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase, or NDM-1, in patients in South Asia and in Britain.
NDM-1 makes bacteria highly resistant to almost all antibiotics, including the most powerful class called carbapenems, and experts say there are no new drugs on the horizon to tackle it.

Should you be worried? Could you and your loved ones die? And should the government begin cutting some big, fat checks for some big, fat research?

“At a global level, this is a real concern,” Walsh, from Britain’s Cardiff University, said in telephone interview.

“Because of medical tourism and international travel in general, resistance to these types of bacteria has the potential to spread around the world very, very quickly. And there is nothing in the (drug development) pipeline to tackle it.”

Quick! Fund some expensive research. It’s not just a bug, damn it, it’s a superbug!

Wisconsin city suffers through record temperatures of more than 600 degrees

The geniuses at NOAA said its stats proved that Wisconsin temperatures were at record highs of 600 degrees. ClimateChangeFraud.com debunks it.

Egg Harbor, Wisconsin record temperatures
Egg Harbor, Wisconsin is changing it's name to Fried Egg, Wisconsin

The geniuses at NOAA said its stats proved that Wisconsin temperatures were at record highs, but the folks over at ClimateChangeFraud.com took a closer look at those stats and discovered that something very odd.

Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, really got cooking this July 4th around 9:59AM, according to NOAA and Coast Watch. It was there, at the bottom left row of the temperature data points, that the records reveal on that day a phenomenally furnace-like 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

Further analysis of the web pages shows that the incredibly wide temperature swings were occurring in remarkably short 10-hour periods – and sometimes in less than 5 hours. Strangely, none of the 250 citizens or the 78 families living in the village appeared to notice this apocalyptic heatwave during their holiday festivities.

But as they always say, it’s a dry heat.

Barack Obama says worst of the recession is over, Dow-Jones begs to differ

On the same day that he bragged that the worst of the recession is over, the Dow Jones tumbled 265 points and followed that up with another 59 point loss on Thursday after the Fed downgraded its forecast for economic recovery and the likelihood of a double-dip recession increased.

Bad timing on President Obama’s part.

What? Me worry about the economy?

The day’s newspaper headlines included, “Unemployment claims rise to six month high,” “You unemployment hits record high,” “July deficit adds $165.04 billion,” and “30,000 line up for hand-outs.”

Nevertheless, President Obama refused to bow to reality (he reserves his bowing for America’s enemies) and “insisted the worst of the recession is over as he signed legislation suspending duties on hundreds of imports.”

“So while we have fought back from the worst of this recession, we’ve still got a lot of work to do,” the Propagandist In Chief added. “We’ve still got a long way to go. And I’m more determined than ever to do every single thing we can to hasten our economic recovery and get our people back to work.”

Every single thing? So cutting taxes is on the table. Nah, who are we kidding?

Good lord, man, if this is a “recovery summer,” we’d hate to see a recessionary summer.

Surprise, surprise! Troops that were supposed to be on the border two weeks ago may not be there for months

In what may be the least surprising announcement made in months, Janet Napolitano revealed Thursday that the troops she promised Arizona and other border states won’t be in place for weeks. Maybe months.

Arizona lawmakers asked for National Guard troops on the border and Napolitano promised to have them in place by August 1, but it looks like Tucson’s just going to have to wait a little longer. Or a lot longer.

“The first began arriving, or the command and control elements began arriving, on the 1st of august. They should all be there within, I would say, 30 to 60 days,” said Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano.

Napolitano went on to say, “Or 90 days. Or maybe 120 days. Or maybe not at all. You know what I love about my job? The more you lie, the easier it gets.”

Joe Donnelly is a congressman from Indiana. He’s an incumbent Democrat, but you’d never know it from his new TV commercial.

Donnelly says he’s been to the border and knows “just how bad the situation on the border is.” And he’s just Joe getting warmed up. He goes on to say that he wants to deport illegal aliens who commit felonies. And that he wants to deep six amnesty “because no one should ever be rewarded for breaking the law.”

Then he delivers the coup de grâce. He reveals that those positions aren’t “what the Washington crowd wants”, while displaying a photo of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi. You know, a couple of those darn Democrats.

The only thing missing from this commercial is a whispered voiceover right at the end that says, “Joe Donnelly is a Democrat, but he won’t tell anyone if you won’t.”

New Hampshire Democrat wishes Sarah Palin was on the flight that killed Alaska Senator Ted Stevens

We couldn't find a photo of Keith Halloran, so here's a photo of another horse's ass

The accomplice media paints the Democrats as the party of peace and love and harmony. Yet some of the most vile comments seem to come from the left. Like this one from New Hampshire House candidate Keith Halloran.

In a Facebook post about the plane crash that killed former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens and several others, Halloran said, “Just wish Sarah and Levy [sic] were on board.”

“Mr. Halloran’s outrageous comments are a new low, even by the standards of the New Hampshire Democrat Party,” NHGOP Communications Director Ryan Williams commented. “His publicly stated death wish for Governor Palin and her family is abhorrent, and has no place in our public discourse. Governor Lynch and Ann McLane Kuster need to immediately denounce Mr. Halloran’s hateful remarks and demand that he personally apologize to the Palin family.”

Of course, if a Republican had made a similar comment about a Democrat, the accomplice media would have been outraged. Absolutely outraged. Cries of righteous indignation would immediately demand that the Republican withdraw from the race.

But Halloran’s a liberal, so look for him to be offered his own show on MSNBC.

And when you think about it, wouldn’t that be punishment enough?

Baptist minister makes MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer look dumb as hell

We doubt that Dr. Robert Jeffress, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, will be invited back on Contessa Brewer’s show anytime soon. Not after the way he destroyed Brewer on Wednesday.

The subject was the proposed mosque at Ground Zero. Jeffress compared it to building a Shinto shrine at Pearl Harbor. Hilarity ensued when Brewer said that 9/11 had nothing to do with Islam. That’s when Jeffress took Brewer apart.

“Well, Contessa,” Jeffress said, “I’ve just been listening to your broadcast for the last few minutes. You talked about ten Christian relief workers gunned down by Muslim gunmen. You talked about this woman who was beaten to death because she broke Islamic law. You talked about attacks being launched in a German Mosque. I think Americans are beginning to realize these are not in opposition to Islamic teaching. But these followers of Islam are obeying the 35 verses in the Koran that call for radical violence against the infidels.”

Brewer spent the rest of the segment saying, “Yeah, but…yeah, but…yeah, but….”

This is what debate has come to on MSNBC. Ed Schultz can’t argue with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s success, so he resorts to calling him fat. Yes, Ed Schultz, the round mound that expounds, had the guts to call someone else fat.

The opening graphic of his banal report read, “Battle of the Bulge” and was followed by Noel Coward-ish bon mots such as:

“This morning, Beckster [Glenn Beck] had some sizeable praise for the job-cutting governor.”

“On his radio program, Laura Ingraham backed him up with this hefty endorsement.”

“Christie’s couch-potato lifestyle.”

“Chris Christie is a guy who makes the middle-class, the poor and schoolkids pay for his fat-cat buddies to keep their living high on the hog lifestyle.”

“To say he’d be a good president? That would be some pretty hefty Psycho Talk.”

Do you think Ed understands tht you can’t score points by making fun of someone who already makes fun of his own weight.

Fat chance.

Oh, look, we’re almost as funny as Ed Schultz.

What was once denied is now confirmed: GE chairman really did order NBC hosts to go easy on Obama

Charles Gasparino tells Bill O’Reilly that he has confirmation that the “go easy on Obama” order was actually issued by General Electric (GE), which owns NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC.

Jeff Immelt is the sleazy chairman of General Electric (GE), which owns NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC.

Rumors swirled around the media world very early in the Obama administration that Immelt had held a dinner for the top executives and air talent of his networks and told them to go easy on the new administration. Of course, everyone involved denied that the dinner had ever taken place.

Now Charles Gasparino tells Bill O’Reilly that he has confirmation from people who attended the dinner that it not only took place, but that the “go easy on Obama” order was actually issued.

The only remaining question is, why did he bother inviting anyone from MSNBC? How much easier could they go?

Rangel rambles: Charlie says he’s not going away quietly

Ethically-challenged Democrat Congressman Charlie Rangel took to the floor of the House to demand a trial. He talked for 31 minutes. He rambled. He ranted. He raved. He preached. And he did it all like he didn’t have a clue that he’s a dead man walking.

Here are a few of the highlights (or, if you prefer, lowlights):

  • “The President wants dignity. Let’s have dignity in this house, where the ethics committee means something. And that none of you, if the newspapers say anything, will have to wait two years before you can say ‘no comment.’”
  • “Why did I take the floor today when I haven’t found one lawyer that said I should do it? I haven’t even found one friend that said I should do it.”
  • “If I can’t get my dignity back here, then fire your best shot in getting rid of me through expulsion.”
  • “Hey, if I was you I may want me to go away, too. I am not going away! I am here!”

This show is definitely going to be worth the price of admission

Soak up the news from Breitbart.com:

The common sponge, or as it's known to the Democrat party, one of the Founding Fathers

Mankind may be descended from apes but Australian scientists have found proof of links much closer to the sea floor, with a study revealing that sea sponges share almost 70 percent of human genes.

Genetic sequencing of sea sponges from the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef showed the ancient marine animal shared many of its genes with humans, including a large number typically associated with disease and cancer.

Lead researcher Bernard Degnan, of the University of Queensland, said the findings “would shed light on a whole range of different things,” and could lay the foundation for breakthroughs in cancer and stem cell research.

“Sponges have what’s (considered) the ‘Holy Grail’ of stem cells,” Degnan told AFP.

The bad news in this story is that the left will now claim that “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” is a built-in human trait. So prepare to see more of your hard-earned tax dollars soaked up human sponges. It’s genetic.

Steve Wynn came down off the top of his casino – the view of Washington made him sick

Steve Wynn: “Macau has been steady. The shocking, unexpected government is the one in Washington.” He’s concerned about the prospect of inflation, of FHA repeating the mistakes of Fannie and Freddie, and the cost to business from the new healthcare law.

Mandatory viewing is required of the following video. Then send the link to this page to your favorite elected officials.

Just a few common sense quotes from the video that takes more than the single remaining neuron in Washington to process:

“Is there a businessman or a media person in America that […] isn’t frightened about the next crazy idea coming from Washington?”

“The financial institutions, the cars, the businessmen, the taxes, the healthcare, everything is cookoo and God knows what’s next”

Wynn speaks of “wild, uncontrolled spending,” and “unbelievable, unsustainable debt”. As he plans to split his company headquarters between Las Vegas and Macau, with a bigger emphasis on Macau because of its tremendous profitability, he has no qualms about dealing with the Chinese government.

“Macau has been steady. The shocking, unexpected government is the one in Washington.”

He’s concerned about the prospect of inflation, of FHA repeating the mistakes of Fannie and Freddie, and the cost to business from the new healthcare law. “We’re on our way to Greece, in the hands of a confused, foolish government,” Wynn says. “It’s got to stop. It’s got to stop.”
