What’s that? You’ve never seen this clip until now?
Perhaps that’s because the same media that delighted in exposing every little faux pas by George Bush has now decided that President and the Presidency must be treated with the utmost respect.
Candidate Obama condemned presidential signing statements – presidential interpretations of bills issued as they are signed into law. George Bush issued more than 750 of them. Now some leading Democrats complain that Obama has broken his word about curtailing the practice.
It’s one thing when the polls turn on you. It’s another when your own party turns on you. But that’s exactly where President Obama finds himself today.
Candidate Obama condemned presidential signing statements – presidential interpretations of bills issued as they are signed into law. George Bush issued more than 750 of them. Now some leading Democrats complain that Obama has broken his word about curtailing the practice.
“It’s outrageous. It’s exactly what the Bush people did,” Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank insisted.
Last week the house voted 429-2 to reinstate restrictions on $108 billion in International Monetary Fund loan guarantees that had been eliminated by an Obama signing statement last month.
Democrats Frank, House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey and New York Democratic Reps. Nita Lowey and Gregory Meeks will inform the president today that Congress will cut off the funds he wants if he issues another signing statement on IMF and World Bank funding.
Oooh, this could get ugly. Of course, that’s always a possibility when Barney Frank is involved.
Republican Chart of Healthcare showing the bureaucratic nightmare of ObamaCare, the House Democrats healthcare plan, was revealed today. Pray to God you never get sick again.

Welcome to ObamaCare, ladies and gentlemen. This is where the separation of church and state will fall apart, because you’re going to pray to God you never get sick again.
The President’s Plan to Stop illegal immigration: Allow illegal aliens to flood across the border, then send out harshly-worded letters to anyone who might consider hiring them.
Illegal aliens to not appear to be too intimidated by harshly-worded letters
The President’s Plan to Stop illegal immigration: Allow illegal aliens to flood across the border, then send out harshly-worded letters to anyone who might consider hiring them.
Yes, you read that correctly. Instead of actually preventing illegal aliens from crossing the border and instead of raiding the businesses where they work, President Obama is is taking a different path. He’s sending harshly-worded form letters to businesses that might violate immigration laws. (As an aside, that sounds a lot like profiling to us.)
The dreaded letters are called I-9 forms. And employers are supposed to fill one out for every worker and keep it on file.
Homeland Security says Immigration & Customs Enforcement has already sent “Notices of Inspection” to 652 businesses this year, a big increase over the 503 notices issued all of last year.
We assume this harshly-worded letter was written by the same folks who sent a harshly-worded letter to Kim Jong-Il. And we all know how well that worked.
Vladimir Putin sent warm birthday greetings to the supposedly universally-hated George W. Bush just hours before meeting with the supposedly universally-loved Barack Obama.
Vladimir Putin demonstrating that Barack Obama isn't the only world leader with manly pecs
Apparently, Vladimir Putin hasn’t been watching MSNBC. He doesn’t seem to know that America’s friends and foes alike are supposed to hate George Bush.
Putin sent warm birthday greetings to the supposedly universally-hated Bush just hours before meeting with the supposedly universally-loved Barack Obama.
“During the last years we have been working on strengthening Russia-U.S. cooperation. Although there were differences between our countries, I always valued your openness and sincerity,” Putin said. “With special warmth I recall your hospitality in the Crawford ranch and your family estate in Kennebunkport.”
“I’ll never forget that night we spent together watching Brokeback Mountain,” he added. “And talking until the sun came up.”
Note: We made that last paragraph up. Vladimir Putin could kick our scrawny blogging asses and we sincerely apologize for any embarrassment our snide comments may cause him.
Beer isn’t just a beverage in Australia. It’s a golden elixir. The lifeblood of the nation. The liquid that makes life worth living. So you’d expect the Aussies to make great beer commercials.

This one is vaguely reminiscent of the Bud Light’s True Men of Genius campaign, but much bigger, much wackier, much funnier.
That being said, we don’t understand some of the Aussie slang in the commercial, but guessing makes it even funnier.
Perhaps some of our Aussie readers could explain the meaning of “The Azzas,” “Blokes Punching above their weight” (we think that one might mean, “Guys with women they don’t deserve”), “Meat Tray Winners” and “Cashed Up Bogans.”
It is at a certain point potentially counterproductive if we’re spending more money than we’re having to borrow. No kidding? It’s potential counterproductive if we’re spending more money than we’re having to borrow? Then here’s an idea for you: Stop spending. Stop borrowing.

Barack Obama enters a room with Russian President Medvedev. They’re greeted by a reception line of Russian officials who refuse to shake hands with Barack Obama. Why, it’s almost as if the Greatest President in History isn’t even the Greatest President in the Room. And the best part is Obama’s reaction. The pissed off look on his face is priceless.
This is hilarious. Barack Obama enters a room with Russian President Medvedev. They’re greeted by a reception line of Russian officials who refuse to shake hands with Barack Obama. Why, it’s almost as if the Greatest President in History isn’t even the Greatest President in the Room.

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner says this economy, inlcuding unemployment, is very healthy, Easy to say when you have a government job.
There’s an old joke that says, “When you neighbor loses his job, it’s a recession. When you lose your job, it’s a depression.”
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner still has his job, so things are a-ok in his book.
“What the economy is going through is a necessary and very healthy adjustment as families and the government of the United States goes back to living within their means. That is causing a greater contraction in demand for credit than we normally see in recessions. And you’re seeing a very healthy increase in private savings behavior and partly in response to that. I think those are necessary, healthy dynamics although they will produce a slower recovery.
We would like to propose the Corollary to Geithner’s Law:
When your neighbor loses his job, it’s a recession. When you lose your job it’s a depression. And when Tim Geithner loses his job, it’s a celebration.
King Canute, whom the WSJ compared to Barack Obama, stepped into the ocean and ordered the tide to recede. When it didn’t, he realized the impotence of mere mortals – even kings – in comparison to the world in which we live.
King Canute has a message for King Obama
Friday’s Wall Street Journal featured an editorial titled “King Canute at the G-8.”
Unfamiliar with King Canute? He was the Viking king of England, Denmark, Norway and Sweden a thousand years ago.
According to legend, he stepped into the ocean and ordered the tide to recede. When it didn’t, he realized the impotence of mere mortals – even kings – in comparison to the world in which we live.
“Let all men know how empty and worthless is the power of kings,” Canute said, “for there is none worthy of the name, but He whom heaven, earth and sea obey by eternal laws.”
As the Jounal points out, the leaders of the G-8 have yet to learn what Canute learned a thousand years ago. They still think they can order the world to cool, to warm, to fetch the sticks they throw.
Especially the one known throughout the land as King Obama. Verily.
American ambassadorships are being sold by President Barack Obama. Candidate Barack Obama condemned this.
The very diplomatic-looking Dan Rooney, owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and new ambassador to Ireland.
Candidate Barack Obama condemned what President Barack Obama is now doing – selling ambassadorships. In fact, Obama is so blatant about it that even the ultra-liberal LA Times has condemned it.
In case you were napping, we repeat: The LA Times has condemned the Obama administration.
Ambassadorships for sale
Fifteen of Obama’s 62 ambassador nominees were campaign money ‘bundlers.’ Appointments should be based on merit, not fundraising.
When candidate Barack Obama spoke of change, we thought he meant a new way of doing business, but apparently he also meant coinage. Because President Obama has kept the unsavory tradition of doling out some of the cushiest ambassadorial posts to fundraisers who brought in some of the biggest chunks of change to his campaign. Fifteen of the 62 ambassadors nominated so far were money “bundlers” for the campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, among them Pittsburgh Steelers owner Daniel M. Rooney, retired Chicago investment banker Louis B. Susman and Los Angeles entertainment executive Charles H. Rivkin.
The formula is simple: The more money you give Obama, the better ambassadorship Obama gives you.
$1,000,000 gets you an ambassadorship in Paris. $100,000 gets you the South Korea. $10,000 gets you Zimbabwe. $1,000 gets you Yemen. $100 gets you a bunk in Joe Biden’s basement.
“Barack Obama” by Blakk Rasta, a reggae song was palyed over and over in Accra, Ghana Africa. Is it pro-Obama or ant-Obama?
One song was played over and over when President Obama arrived in Accra, Ghana last week. It was a reggae hit called “Barack Obama” by Blakk Rasta.
We’re not big reggae fans. Sorry. We like it, but it’s just waaaaay to repetitive. It all sounds the same to us. Maybe we just have tin ears.
The Obama fans at the New York Times seem to think the song is a paean to The Greatest President In History. They called it a proud celebration of the first African-American president. And at first listen, it seems to be.
But as one HuffingtonPost.com comment said, “It a rebuke and a plea for action. It suggests that a black man as president is a sign that we’re in the end times. It’s critical of Obama’s views on social issues and America’s use of bombs. He calls Obama ‘idiot bwoy’ for using the words, ‘God bless America,’ and warns him that there are two-faced people ready to destroy him. It urges him to use his power to lift Africa out of poverty instead of joining with the people with the ‘fake’ smiles.”
Thought we also heard a line condemning Obama for “legalizing unnecessary abortions in America.”
We actually Googled the lyrics, but we’re just not fluent enough in rasta patois to comprehend them any better in written form than in audio form.
Listen to it. What do you think? Is the message pro-Obama? Anti-Obama?
A joint venture between Russia’s Gazprom and Nigeria’s state-owned NNPC has been named Nigaz, a racially offensive sounding name.
Next thing you know, Jesse jackson will be leading protests in Nigeria. At least it would get him out of this country.
We’ve just passed the halfway mark of 2009, but it’s hard to believe anyone will make a bigger marketing blunder than this in the next six months.
A joint venture between Russia’s Gazprom and Nigeria’s state-owned NNPC has been named Nigaz.
A new FaceBook group called “Nigerians No Nigaz” has already been formed. They say the company’s name will undoubtedly be mis-pronounced in a way that will be offensive to black people (of which there are a considerable number in Nigeria).
“But it’s pronounced ‘nye-gaz,’” an idiotic company official whined.
In related news, a Norwegian company has formed a joint venture with an Iranian citrus company. It will reportedly be called NoJus.
One would think it newsworthy if the President of the United States Barack Obama appointed Van Jones, an admitted communist, to a key position as Green Jobs Czar in his administration. Wouldn’t one?
Is Van Jones is a watermelon: green on the outside, red on the inside
One would think it newsworthy if the President of the United States appointed an admitted communist to a key position in his administration. Wouldn’t one?
Then how can it be explained that the media has given virtually no attention to the political beliefs of Van Jones, the man President Obama has named “Green Jobs Czar”?
Jones is William Ayers without the bombs. He’s the ultimate watermelon: green on the outside, red on the inside.
Here’s how the East Bay Express described the Van Jones’ background:
[Van] Jones had planned to move to Washington, DC, and had already landed a job and an apartment there. But in jail, he said, “I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.'” Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. “I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.” In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th,” he said. “By August, I was a communist.”
And Van Jones is a member in good standing of the Obama administration, one of “czars” appointed by Obama who reports only to Obama and who, therefore, never had to withstand the rigors of a senate confirmation process.
Network television news? Hello? Hello? Hello? Anybody out there?
David Brooks of the New York Times tells MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell that a Republican senator groped his thigh “the whole time” at a dinner party.
David Brooks of the New York Times is channeling his inner Bruno. He tells MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell that a Republican senator groped his thigh “the whole time” at a dinner party.
The thing is, we’re not sure if Brooks is bragging or complaining.
The funniest part of the story, we think, is that Brooks admits he allowed someone grope his thigh the whole time at a dinner party.
“Senator, I’m shocked at our outrageous conduct, horrified by your actions, and dismayed by your sordid behavior. And I’m only going to give you another three hours to stop it.”
Bad news for Al Gore and Global Warming alarmists: a light hurricane season had been forecast just a couple months ago. And it’s looking ligher.
A light hurricane season had been forecast just a couple months ago: “Citing cooler seas and the prospect of a weak El Nino, Colorado State University’s hurricane team lowered its 2009 Atlantic forecast Tuesday to 12 tropical storms, of which six could become hurricanes.”
Even that is now looking too extreme.
Here’s the scorecard a full six weeks into hurricane season 2009:
Tropical depressions zero
Tropical storms zero
Hurricanes zero
Major hurricanes zero
Our forecast: Al Gore and his global warming acolytes will soon begin cranking up the “Yeah, but…” excuse machine.
Time Magazine compared Barack Obama to Franklin Roosevelt, complete with cigarette holder and massive federal intervention. Is it an accurate comparison?
Time Magazine compared Barack Obama to Franklin Roosevelt, complete with cigarette holder and massive federal intervention.
Is it an accurate comparison?
If you believe Lee Ohanian and Harold Cole it may be true, but not in the happy talk, cheerleady way that Time intended.
The two UCLA economists contend that Roosevelt’s interventionist policies actually made the Great Depression even more…well…depressing.
Just like some critics say that Obama’s “stimulus” is making the recession even more…uhhh…recessional.
A headline says, “New York City has ‘coolest June since 1958.'” But according to the chart from the National Weather Service, it’s actually the coolest June since 1928 and tied for the coolest since 1897. Al Gore is not going to like this.

The tiny island nation of Palau is “asking” the United States, its longtime sugar daddy, to ante up “aid” money for another 35 years.
Strange, foreign terrorists. An exotic island paradise. Blackmail. It has the makings of a great movie.
We’ve watched Law & Order enough times to know that you should never make the mistake of paying a blackmailer. Pay them once, the police always say, and they’ll keep coming back for more.
In a real world example of the same principle, the tiny island nation of Palau is “asking” the United States, its longtime sugar daddy, to ante up “aid” money for another 35 years.
Obama made the mistake of bribing Palau $200 million to take 13 Gitmo detainees. Now Palau is coming back for more water from the same well.
They’re proposing a 30-year extension to the Compact of Free Association between the two nations. That means they want the gravy train (or in this case, the gravy boat) to continue for a couple more generations.
Palauan negotiator Joshua Koshiba said Palau’s “offer” to take the Uighur terrorists was “a positive for the negotiation.”
“I can point my finger at them now and say, ‘See, we are helping you too, without asking for help only,”‘ he said.
Koshiba said Palau will weigh its options if Uncle Sugar Daddy won’t pay up.
“When you have a friend, if they don’t want to be your friend anymore, what do you do? Don’t you look for another friend?” Koshiba waxed philosophically.
We would also like to wax philosophically in response:
Barack Obama, the Greatest President in History, is plummeting in the polls and taking the rest of the Democrats along for the ride.
The Greatest President in History is plummeting in the polls and taking the rest of the Democrats along for the ride.
According to Rasmussen Reports’ latest poll:
Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on eight out of 10 key electoral issues, including, for the second straight month, the top issue of the economy. They’ve also narrowed the gap on the remaining two issues, the traditionally Democratic strong suits of health care and education.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that voters trust the GOP more on economic issues 46% to 41%, showing little change from the six-point lead the party held last month. This is just the second time in over two years of polling the GOP has held the advantage on economic issues. The parties were close on the issue in May, with the Democrats holding a one-point lead.
We’re surprised to learn that 41% of the American people live in dark caves with no access to the outside world.
This parody of John Lennon’s “imagine” song was posted on YouTube right after Barack Obama fooled the majority into voting for him.
This parody of John Lennon’s “imagine” song was posted to YouTube just after Barack Obama had successfully fooled the majority into voting for him. We have a feeling those middle of the road Republicans who supported Obama as a “transformative figure” and “conservative democrat,” now, only eight months later, have come to understand the sentiments expressed in this video.
As the chorus says, “Welcome to the Obamanation, aren’t you having lots of fun?”
Michelle Obama invited a group of Washington, DC school children to plant a vegetable garden on the White House lawn, turning them into sharecroppers who could be poisoned.
White House chef cracking the whip on crew of child sharecroppers
On April 9, Michelle Obama invited a group of Washington, DC school children to plant a vegetable garden on the White House lawn.
Of course, this was done with the greatest possible hoopla, the press telling us how amazing it was that this stunning fashion icon would actually stoop to get dirt under her perfectly-manicured fingernails.
On June 21, the children were brought back to the White House to harvest lettuce, onions, tomatoes and other vegan delights.
Wikipedia says, “Sharecropping is a system of agriculture or agricultural production in which a landowner allows a tenant to use the land in return for a share of the crop produced on the land (e.g., 50 percent of the crop).”
So in a strange parody of post-Civil War agronomics, small children were brought in to supply free labor to plant and harvest vegetables that the First Family will now dine on daily. We scoured the news reports of the harvest and could find no references to the children being allowed to take home any of the fruits vegetables of their labors. However, they did get to snack on some of them after the harvest was complete.
But it gets worse.
On July 2, it was reported that the soil in the White House vegetable garden may hold enough lead to poison the child gardeners who worked in it and anyone who eats what’s been grown in it.
The White House, of course, says it’s no problem. They had the soil tested and the results show lead content of 93 parts per million. That’s higher than what’s typically found in urban areas, but not high enough to be considered a health risk.
“The garden recently underwent extensive soil testing that proved it is completely safe,” said the First Lady’s press secretary.
Will the United Farmworkers Union protest the White House’s use of non-unionized farm labor?
Will child welfare advocates protest the White House’s forced child labor policy?
Will eco-wackos protest the White House’s callous disregard of food safety regulations?
