If a majority of likely American voters had their way, the maternity hospitals just this side of the Mexican border would see dramatic declines in their business.
If a majority of likely American voters had their way, the maternity hospitals just this side of the Mexican border would see dramatic declines in their business.
Rasmussen explains the results of a recent poll:
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 61% of Likely U.S. Voters believe that a child born in the United States to a woman who is here illegally should not automatically become a U.S. citizen. That’s up slightly from last August but is the highest level of support for a change in the existing law found in five years of Rasmussen Reports surveying.
The liberal opposition is hemorrhaging support:
Twenty-eight percent (28%) disagree and feel that children born to illegal immigrants in this country should automatically become American citizens as is currently the practice. That’s down six points from August. Another 11% are undecided.
But that’s just the beginning of the bad news for liberals. Get this:
Eighty-four percent (84%) of voters believe that before anyone receives local, state or federal government services, they should be required to prove they are legally allowed to be in the United States. Only nine percent (9%) oppose such a requirement.
Just nine percent? Nine percent is almost a rounding error. More than 9% believe Obama was born in Kenya. More than 9% believe aliens have visited earth. More than 9% probably believe Obama is one of them.
Apparently, Prince William and Kate Middleton will only allow make-believe morons to attend their wedding, which explains why Mr. Bean made the cut, but Mr. Obama didn’t.
Rumor has it that President Obama is pissed that he got dissed and didn’t make the list.
Apparently, Prince William and Kate Middleton will only allow make-believe morons to attend their wedding, which explains why Mr. Bean made the cut, but Mr. Obama didn’t.
The Associated Press reports that affirmative action can get you to the White House, but not to Westminster Abbey:
David Beckham, Elton John and Mr. Bean actor Rowan Atkinson will mingle with dozens of royal guests at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, according to an official guest list released Saturday that includes one uncomfortable presence — the Bahraini crown prince accused of a brutal crackdown on protesters.
Here’s one of Mr. Bean’s most famous clips. It’s already had an incredible 58,000,000 views on YouTube. Please note that he works without a Teleprompter.
We made it about 30 seconds into this video before tears started streaming down our faces. Our advice: Get a box of Kleenex before you watch it.
The Editor made it about 30 seconds into this video before tears began rolling down his face. The Administrator lasted about ten seconds. He said, “I don’t know what I’m going to do when I have to walk my daughter down the aisle.”
Our advice: Get a box of Kleenex before you watch it.
Hope you have a great Easter with all your loved ones.
By the end of this short video clip Ellison revealed his true position: We’re not just fighting Muslim terrorists, we’re fighting Christian and Jewish terrorists, too.
We’re not big Hannity fans, but he gets our congratulations for nailing Keith Ellison, the Democrat who proudly wears the label First Muslim in Congress.
Hannity quickly put Ellison in stuttering and sputtering mode. And by the end of this short video clip Ellison revealed his true position: We’re not just fighting Muslim terrorists, we’re fighting Christian and Jewish terrorists, too.
‘Cause, you know, Christians and Jews are in the news every day for strapping on dynamite vests and blowing up innocent women and children. Oh, no, wait. That’s Muslims. Well, Christians and Jews hijacked airplanes and flew them into the Twin Towrs. No, now that we think about it, that was Muslims, too. Well … well …
It’s not too much of a stretch to say that the Environmental Protection Agency is creating noise pollution, because it has produced what must be one of the worst songs in the history of rap.
It’s not too much of a stretch to say that the Environmental Protection Agency is creating noise pollution, because it has produced what must be one of the worst songs in the history of rap. And that’s quite a statement because rap is a genre rife with really bad songs.
In theory, “Click It, Flip It” is supposed to inspire kids to live more sustainable lifestyles. In reality, it will inspire kids to say, “This rap is crap.”
You owe us a big one, IHTM readers. We sat through this song about fifteen times just so we could transcribe the lyrics for you accurately.
“Click It, Flip It”
Click, click, click, click
Click, click, click, click
C’mon and click it, click it
Turn off your water, turn the handle to the right
Slip on your sneakers and lace ‘em up tight
Leave the car parked, you know that that’s alright.
Public transportation is the way to go
Well, it’s one of the ways keep emissions low
Now you can ride your bike, uh huh, instead of the car
If we save on fuel, then we’ll all go far
I said click it, click it
Turn the handle to the right
Turn off the water turn the handle real tight
Slip on your sneakers and lace ‘em up tight
Leave the car parked, c’mon you know now that’s alright.
Public transportation is the way to go
Well, it’s one of the ways keep emissions low
Now you can ride your bike, uh huh, instead of the car
If we save on fuel, then we’ll all go far
Now you can pick up paper, recycle it too
And there are many other things that you can do
You can click off the Gameboy, flip off the light
While you’re brushing your teeths turn the handle to the right
Close the fridge door and keep it shut tight
No food has been added since the middle of the night
A five-minute shower is all that’s needed
To keep energy from being depleted
A long-sleeved sweater is what I know
Will keep you toasty and your fuel bills low
Planet a tree in your neighborhood
Besides giving shade you know it looks real good
C’mon and click it
Turn your handle to the right
Turn off the water turn the handle’s real tight
Slip on your sneakers and lace ‘em up tight
Leave the car parked, c’mon you know that’s alright.
Public transportation is the way to go
Well, it’s one of the ways keep emissions low
Now you can ride your bike, uh huh, instead of the car
If we save on fuel, then we’ll all go far
The USA is where we are
To kick a new trend and to raise the bar
The climate’s changing and that’s a fact
The bears don’t even know when to take a nap
On top of that it’s not cool
When the flood waters rise and mosquitoes rule
It’s time to get off the couch and start to move.
C’mon and click it
Turn your handle to the right
Turn off the water, turn the handle real tight
Slip on your sneakers, well, and lace ‘em up tight
Leave the car parked, you know that’s alright.
I said public transportation is the way to go
It’s one of the ways keep emissions low
Now you can ride your bike, uh huh, instead of the car
If we save on fuel, then we’ll all go far
C’mon and click it
Click it
Turn the handle to the right
Click it, click it
Turn the handle to the right
C’mon and click it
Turn the handle to the right
Click, click, click, click,
Click, click, click, click,
Click, click
We’ve upset a Communist with our Che Guevara story, and thought we’d share his hate mail with you.
We’ve upset a Communist, which, of course, makes doing this at 3:30 a.m. all seem worthwhile.
We did a story back in December titled “Ten Che Guevara quotes the left would rather not talk about.” You may have noticed an increasingly angry series of comments from a reader who calls himself Che’s Best Friend. (Far be it from us to nitpick, but wouldn’t Che’s Best Amigo be more appropriate?)
Perhaps "Che's Best Friend" was upset because we said, "The only good Che is a dead Che"
Well, Che’s Best Friend sent us a special email yesterday. We thought you might enjoy it as much as we did.

The National Press Club held a lovely luncheon the other day and invited Ted Turner and T. Boone Pickens to spread their wisdom among the prostrate press.
In wind power really works, Ted Turner's mouth should be able to generate enough electricity to power several small cities
North American Wind Power’s website described it as a debate, but our understanding of the word “debate” is that a successful one requires opposing sides. In this case, Turner and Pickens appeared to be singing from the same hymnal.
Of course, they both called for immediate action by Congress – Pickens to protect his substantial investment in wind power and Turner to protect his substantially dwindling reputation as a forward thinker.
But let’s concentrate on Turner, because Pickens commits the double cardinal sins of (1) being in the position to profit enormously if Congress were to actually do something about wind power, and (2) being boring.
Here’s how NAWP.com tells Turner’s tale:
Turner, founder and former head of CNN, agreed with Pickens that natural gas is part of the solution to the U.S.’ energy problem, which has been dramatized lately by rising gasoline prices. But Turner sees natural gas as only a “bridge fuel.”
“In 20 years, there will be no fossil fuel,” said Turner, who asserted that cars will run on electricity in 20 years.
Despite the fact that the world has greater proven oil reserves now than at any time in history, Turner says the world’s gas tank will be on empty by 2031. But the Mouth from the South was just getting started.
“We need renewable energy for a world without pollution, so kids won’t get asthma.”
President Obama tried the same argument last week, claiming that coal-fired power plants cause asthma and was rapidly slapped down by health experts who said the cause of asthma really isn’t known.
Hard to believe that one man could pack so much misinformation into two short sentences, but let’s face it, Ted Turner is no ordinary man.
Please allow us to paraphrase what President Obama said: “I can’t wait until tomorrow, because I get more perfect every day.”
Please allow us to paraphrase what President Obama said during a town hall meeting at Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, California: “I can’t wait until tomorrow, because I get more perfect every day.”
“If you had to do anything differently during your first four years,” one questioner asked, “what would it be?”
If you don't think Saint Barry of Nairobi is perfect, just ask him
After several minutes of taxing his remarkable intellect (yes, the guy will tax anything) to think of something that hasn’t gone perfectly during his first two and a half years in office, he finally gave up.
“There are all sorts of day-to-day issues where I say to myself, oh, I didn’t say that right, or I didn’t explain this clearly enough,” Obama noted, “or maybe if I had sequenced this plan first as opposed to that one, maybe it would have gotten done quicker.”
But actual mistakes? None. Not one. He referenced the contentious ObamaCare debate and said, “I’ve asked myself sometimes is there a way that we could have gotten it done more quickly and in a way that the American people wouldn’t have been so frustrated by it?”
But that wasn’t Obama’s mistake and he was quick to point that out. “I’m not sure I could have because there’s a reason why it hadn’t gotten done in a hundred years … It’s hard to fix a system as big as health care and as complicated as our health care system.”
After wracking his brain for several more minutes, the President just plain gave up on trying to think of any mistakes and began talking about anything that came to mind. He rambled into a long list of unrelated topics, like immigration reform. And the deficit. And energy. And education.
But mistakes? By this time he was hoping that the audience had forgotten he question.
The success of the celebration can only be explained by the fact that no one ever bothers to go back to check the accuracy of the eco-wackos’ past predictions.
What was once Earth Day has now morphed into Earth Hour and Earth Week. The success of the celebration can only be explained by the fact that no one ever bothers to go back to check the accuracy of the eco-wackos’ past predictions.
For example, the predictions made at the first Earth Day in 1970 were wrong. No, wrong isn’t a strong enough word. They were spectacularly wrong. Let’s cover all the tenses and say they were wrong, they are wrong, and then make our own prediction and say they will be wrong in the future.
Jim Morrison, gone. Elvis Presley, gone. Michael Jackson, gone. But none of them were killed by the environment.
Need proof? Here are some of the hilarious, remarkably wrong predictions made on Earth Day 1970.
“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
• George Wald, Harvard Biologist
“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.” • Barry Commoner, Washington University biologist
“By…[1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
Leisure suits are gone, but the Earth is still here
“Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions….By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” • Peter Gunter, professor, North Texas State University
“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation.” • Denis Hayes, chief organizer for Earth Day
“Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….” • Life Magazine, January 1970
“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
Sadly, vegans have outlived the Vega.
“Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” • Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist
“We are prospecting for the very last of our resources and using up the nonrenewable things many times faster than we are finding new ones.” • Martin Litton, Sierra Club director
“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any.'” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
“Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.” • New York Times editorial, the day after the first Earth Day
“Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.” • Sen. Gaylord Nelson
“We have about five more years at the outside to do something.” • Kenneth Watt, ecologist
“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” • Kenneth Watt, Ecologist
Today, Earth Day, the eco-wackos will surely get their day moment in the spotlight and their soundbites on the nightly news. They’ll predict a future even grimmer than they predicted 41 years ago.
Eight Wisconsin doctors wrote fraudulent “sick notes” for perfectly healthy protesters at the anti-Scott Walker rallies in Madison are being investigated.
Eight Wisconsin doctors are feeling a little sick to their stomachs today. They wrote fraudulent “sick notes” for perfectly healthy protesters at the anti-Scott Walker rallies in Madison and now they’re being investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Regularion and Licensing and the state’s Medical Examining Board.
…DRL identified 11 people who were asked to provide an explanation to the department about their activities at the Capitol. Based on the complaints and the information received by DRL, a screening panel consisting of three members of the MEB has decided to open investigations on eight individuals. Investigations were not opened as to the other three individuals because the panel concluded no violations had occurred.
Despite the fact that some of the eight were captured breaking the law on video and handing out sick notes willy nilly, the two medical boards will now go through the motions of determining if any laws were broken. After the investigation is complete, the panel will recommend what kind of disciplinary action should be taken.
Please allow us to make a prediction: Slap on the wrist.

NY police arrest man for being a smart aleck
If being a smart aleck is now an offense worthy of arrest, most IHTM readers would end up in hot water within five minutes. So we just recommend that you save yourself some trouble and stay the hell away from New York.
Here’s the story:
After New York’s finest stopped a bicyclist for riding on the sidewalk, a passing pedestrian started began teasing the cyclist with clever bon mots like, “You know that’s against the law!”
The police start hassling the pedestrian and demand his identification. This, of course, escalates what had been a relatively minor stop into a major confrontation. By the time it was over six officers were involved.
The best part? While arresting the smartass, none of the cops even notice another pedestrian – obviously drunk or loaded – stumbling into oncoming traffic.
Now it’s being reported that Mexico has sent advisors to help train the rebels. Don’t worry, President Obama, things are sure to turn around in Libya any day now.
A California woman facing nearly 5 years in prison for forging drug prescriptions showed up at court with a phony doctor’s note seeking a delay.
San Luis Obispo, California, the happiest place in America, has at least one unhappy resident this morning, but don’t blame us. This may be our hometown, but IHateTheMedia.com had nothing to do with it.
Important notice: If you're ever charged with forgery, do not bring a forged doctor's note to the San Luis Obispo County courthouse
Ohio.com explains the story:
A California woman facing nearly five years in prison for forging drug prescriptions showed up for sentencing with a phony doctor’s note seeking a delay in the proceedings.
Michelle Elaine Astumian was free on $45,000 bail and pleaded no contest in January to felony counts of forgery and using a fraudulent check.
The 41-year-old woman arrived Monday for sentencing in a San Luis Obispo County courtroom and presented a note with a doctor’s signature asking for a postponement.
Prosecutor Dave Pomeroy called the doctor, who said the note is a forgery.
The judge immediately ordered Astumian into custody and she collapsed to the floor. An ambulance took her to a hospital.
Five years in prison for forging a doctor’s note? Hell, under ObamaCare she’ll have to wait that long just to see a doctor.

No good deed goes unpunished. If you mistakenly send a politician twenty bucks to help elect people that you want in office, they make the mistake of believing that you believe in every single splinter of every plank of their platform, every chump, every schmuck, every moron.
We believe Mr. Perlcat is not happy with the Republican National Committee
When it’s the RNC, after much wishy-washiness trying to shave a few tenths of a percent off of a budget that has added trillions in the past couple years, they just plain irritate me to no end. I mean, do they call that an accomplishment? While I’m looking for trillions in budget reduction, they’re talking about the kind of money the EPA finds in the couch cushions. Clearly the Republican “leadership” has not comprehended what the American public has — that it is a spending problem, and you fix it by not spending so much.
This is the organization that encouraged that witch Lisa Murkowski’s write-in campaign after someone else won Alaska’s primary. Clearly, it is more of a solicitation of dues to a club that I’m not allowed to join than it is a campaign fund to elect competent politicians. When we see the light at the end of the tunnel, with bright stars like Jim DeMint, Michelle Bachmann and others, pinheads like Karl Rove think they can use their credibility to hack on them, cut them down, keep the crop of new politicians into office in line with the “more of the same” crowd. So when the RNC sent me their umpteenth letter, I went off on them. I doubt that they’ll ever read it, so I’ll let you guys read it, see what you think.
I hereby revoke the RNC’s right to their acronym, and confer on them the acronym “SSDD”. Yep, Same Sh*t, Different Day.
Dear RNC:
Thank you for your email soliciting a donation from me. Unfortunately, I no longer donate to the Republican party as it clearly does not represent my interests in Washington.
I wish you did. Unfortunately, nothing has transpired in the past year that has convinced me that you offer any more of a solution than the current imbecile residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. With very few exceptions, the Republican leadership has proved feckless and of very poor negotiating ability. With a Democrat insurgency hell-bent upon destroying our nation, this is not the time for “me too” politics.
The difference you guys present is marginal at best — a choice in our nation failing in four years instead of two. I’d like to think better of our nation and our politicians. So please remove me from your donor list.
You are welcome to email me when you guys are serious about fixing this nation’s ills. Until then, as I said before, my money goes elsewhere.
If you want suggestions on how to get people fired up, I suggest you guys stop treating the few politicians actually acting as if they gave a damn about the crisis our nation is in like pariahs and tell Rove to drink a tall glass of STFU until he has something useful to say.
“¡Si, Se Puede!” was the Spanish version of “Yes we can!” Does anyone know how to say, “No we can’t” in Spanish?
“¡Si, Se Puede!” was the Spanish version of “Yes we can!” Does anyone know how to say, “No we can’t” in Spanish? It might come in handy at campaign headquarters because President Obama’s approval rating among Hispanics has dropped from 85% in May of 2009 to 47% today.
"Yes We Can" has turned into "This guy's a pinche puto"
Gallup reports the muy malo noticias:
As President Barack Obama was preparing to meet at the White House on Tuesday afternoon with a group of business, religious and law enforcement leaders to talk about immigration reform, the Gallup poll released its latest weekly presidential job approval numbers indicating that Obama’s approval among Hispanic Americans had dropped to an all-time low.
In the week of April 11-17, Gallup reported, only 47 percent of Hispanics said they approved of the job Obama was doing as president.
This was only the third week during Obama’s presidency that his job approval among his Hispanics has been lower than 50 percent. The previous two occasions were Sept. 20-26, 2010, when Obama’s approval dropped to 49 percent among Hispanics, and the week of July 26-Aug.1, 2010, when it dropped to 48 percent.
Now if the Republicans could just come up with a better presidential candidate than Donald Trump, we could end this national nightmare.
Paul Ryan? Chris Christie? Marco Rubio? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
There’s no way of really knowing but we’re pretty sure that when Moses instituted the first passover his intention wasn’t to celebrate the architects of yet another holocaust.
When it comes to sharing, Barrack Obama has a pretty skewed view of things. A view so skewed, in fact, that we can only sum it up with the phrase “what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine.”
His majesty’s hypocrisy is by no means limited to the American taxpayers. He also seems fond of applying it to the Jews. And this time around its not enough for them to give their country over to people who want to kill them. Now he expects them to cede their holidays as well.
President Obama pretending he cares about Jewish tradition
Israel National News has the whole spiel on President Shmendrik’s chutzpah:
Passover recalls the bondage and suffering of Jews in Egypt and the miracle of the Exodus, the unique redemption whose goal was a G-d given way of life to be led in the Holy Land, but U.S. President Barack Obama says its message is reflected in Muslim uprisings.
In his annual message, prior to his third straight participation in the Passover Seder, President Obama stated, “The story of Passover…instructs each generation to remember its past, while appreciating the beauty of freedom and the responsibility it entails. This year that ancient instruction is reflected in the daily headlines as we see modern stories of social transformation and liberation unfolding in the Middle East and North Africa.”
There’s no way of really knowing but we’re pretty sure that when Moses instituted the first passover his intention wasn’t to celebrate the architects of yet another holocaust.
The latest controversy about The Donald is that he won’t release his tax returns until Obama releases his birth certificate.
Donald Trump has more skeletons in his closet than a … a … well, maybe we should really figure out how sentences are going to end before we begin them.
Nevertheless, the latest controversy about The Donald is that he won’t release his tax returns until Obama releases his birth certificate.
Is there any proof that Donald Trump's hair was born in the United States?
The New York Daily News reports:
Donald Trump has a deal for the President: He’ll release his tax returns if Obama releases his birth certificate.
The billionaire businessman and aspiring presidential candidate laid out the conditions for his financial records disclosure Tuesday.
“Maybe I’m going to do the tax returns when Obama does his birth certificate … I’d love to give my tax returns. I may tie my tax returns into Obama’s birth certificate,” he told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos.
We say the American people are concerned with issues far more pressing than Obama’s birth certificate.
For instance, what exactly is going on with Trump’s hair? Is it real? Is it a comb over? Is it a weave? Is there any proof that it was it born in the United States?
Foul language on the floor of the Senate? Good gracious sakes alive! Russ Carnahan used the F word and the media yawns — because he is a democrat.
Remember back in 2004 when Vice President Dick Cheney looked Senator Patrick Leahy in the eyes and said, “Go f-ck yourself?”
Foul language on the floor of the Senate? Good gracious sakes alive! It was reported by the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, the Associated Press, New York Times, CNN and all the usual liberal suspects. And based on their reaction, one would have thought the world was about to end.
Why does Missouri Congressman Russ Carnahan always look like something smells bad?
Well, now we have a similar situation with a House Democrat saying exactly the same thing to another House Democrat, but the same media that was horrified by Cheney is silent about the Democrat.
Politico has the story of Russ Carnahan’s vocabularic violation:
Rep. Russ Carnahan has all but agreed to avoid a primary fight against Rep. Lacy Clay if, as expected, the two Democrats are drawn into the same district by the Missouri legislature.
But for detente to occur, there had to be hostilities.
Two weeks ago, a frustrated Carnahan approached Clay on the House floor. Carnahan had been hoping to get Clay and fellow Missouri Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleave to pressure Gov. Jay Nixon to veto a Republican remapping of the state’s congressional districts. Not only had Clay and Cleaver declined to help, they had stopped taking Carnahan’s calls on the matter.
“[F—-] you,” Carnahan said, according to a source who heard the obscenity. Then, with sarcasm, he added “Thanks for your help.”
When it comes to the subject of Barack Obama, Bill O’Reilly is schizophrenic. Some nights he supports him and demands that conservatives back off, other nights he wants his head on a stake.
When it comes to the subject of Barack Obama, Bill O’Reilly is schizophrenic. Some nights he supports him and demands that conservatives back off, other nights he wants his head on a stake.
Monday night was in the latter mode. He told Brit Hume, “The danger to the country lies in the executive branch and president Obama … I think absolutely the president wants to take from the rich and give to the poor.”
Former Iraq commander Ricardo Sanchez, who was forced out of his military post in 2004 after the Abu Ghraib scandal, wants to run for US Senator.
Remember those heady days of progressive protest when Abu Ghraib was the worst scandal in the history of the Republic? Back when progressives told us that taking photos of prisoners in their underwear was far worse than any atrocity committed by Saddam Hussein? Back when they said the commanding officer must pay for the crimes of his people?
Progressives suddenly consider Ricardo Sanchez to be Robert Mapplethorpe in khakis
Never mind. That was back before Abu Ghraib commanding officer Ricardo Sanchez announced that he’s also a progressive and interested in running for Kay Bailey Hutchison’s seat in Texas.
The National Journal has the sordid story:
It looks like the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s secret recruit in the Texas Senate race has been unveiled.
McClatchy reports that it’s likely none other than former Iraq commander Ricardo Sanchez, who was forced out of his military post in 2004 after the Abu Ghraib scandal. Sanchez retired from the military in 2006.
“I would describe myself as during my military career as supporting the president and the Constitution,” Sanchez told the paper. “After the military, I decided that socially, I’m a progressive, a fiscal conservative and a strong supporter, obviously, of national defense.”
Barney Frank has already requested that Sanchez be put in charge of all future Senate photo sessions.
We haven’t built a refinery in the United States since 1976, but we can give Columbia $2.84 billion so they can build one
What’s wrong with this picture? We can’t drill for offshore oil in the United States, but we can give billions of dollars to Brazil so they can build one. We haven’t built a refinery in the United States since 1976, but we can give Colombia $2.84 billion so they can build one.
We're not sure if this is a photo of the sun setting on the American oil industry or rising over the foreign oil industry
CSN News reports the completely inexplicable details of the pissing away of another few billion of your tax dollars:
The U.S. Export-Import Bank, an independent agency of the federal government, is now planning a $2.84-billion loan for a massive project to expand and upgrade an oil refinery–in Cartagena, Colombia.
The money would go to Reficar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecopetrol, the Colombian national oil company.
“This is part of a $5.18 billion refinery and upgrade project in Cartagena, Colombia supplying petroleum products to the domestic and export markets,” the Export-Import Bank said in a statement.
The U.S. government-controlled bank says the $2.84-billion in financing it plans to undertake will be the second largest project it has ever done. The largest was $3 billion in financing for a liquid natural gas project in Papua New Guinea.
Yes, we know these are loans and loan guarantees, not outright gifts, and we understand the theory that American companies will benefit from purchases made by the foreign oil interests. But wouldn’t American companies also benefit from purchases made by companies drilling for and refining oil in the United States?
You have to give Obama credit. He may be anti-American, but at least he’s consistent.
Jerome Corsi, the same author who helped sink John Kerry’s presidential campaign with Swift Boat, has penned a new book called “Where’s the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President. Pre-order here!
The Drudge Report just announced that a new book may just uncover and reveal the hidden secrets in Barack Obama’s life.
“It’s utterly devastating,” reveals a source close to the publisher. “Obama may learn things he didn’t even know about himself!”Does Corsi definitively declare the location of Obama’s birth?
Will the president’s attorneys attempt to interfere with the book’s distribution? [The publisher vows to vigorously fight any legal action that may be taken.]
Will the book finally — once and for all — put an end to the growing controversy?
Or will it just ignite new ones!?
“When Donald Trump said he sent PIs to Hawaii to get to the bottom of all this, he meant this book,” declares an insider.
Can’t wait. If this one’s half as good as Swift Boat, it’s going to be very good. The Editor and the Administrator have already ordered copies. And in a blatant attempt to make a few bucks, we’re making it easy for you to order yours, too. Just order through the link below and a few pennies goes in our pocket. We appreciate it:

Joe’s latest stunt is posting each day’s funniest mugshots online so the public can vote for Mug Shot of the Day.
Here’s how Joe explains it:
Numerous people are booked into our jails each day. Vote for the mug shot you like best then see if your choice makes mug shot of the day tomorrow! You can change your mind as often as you like but your final vote will be the only one cast. Tell us what you think!
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office website gets 800,000 hits a day. We say make it 800,001.
We’d like every IHateTheMedia.com reader to click on the link and vote for Benjamin Luna.
We’re behind you all the way, Ben. And we’re behind you, too, Sheriff Joe.
While we admire New York Republican Tom Reed’s concept, even he must know that his colleagues on both sides of the aisle are unlikely to agree.
While we admire New York Republican Tom Reed’s concept, even he must know that his colleagues on both sides of the aisle are unlikely to agree to anything that might give them pause before they piss away more of our money.
New York Republican Tom Reed, a big man who hates big debt
The Hill has the details of a great idea that’s going nowhere:
Rep. Tom Reed (R-N.Y.) last week introduced a resolution that would place a clock measuring the U.S. debt in the House chamber as a “visual gesture” that reminds members of the need to reduce spending.
“We are currently borrowing $58,000 per second,” Reed said last week. “We borrow at least forty cents of each dollar we spend. That is unsustainable. The debt clock will be a distinct reminder that our national debt must always be our first consideration as we continue to spend money that we do not have.”
Reed noted that the total U.S. debt reached $1.5 trillion in the U.S.’s first 193 years, but said the country will add that much in red ink in the current fiscal year.
“The voters of the 29th district of New York elected me to get our spending and borrowing under control,” Reed said. “We must never lose sight of that fact that our children and grandchildren will quite literally pay tomorrow for the decisions made today.”
What? Only $58,000 per second? C’mon, Congress, don’t let that impertinent New York Congressman get in your way. With a little effort you can get that up to $60 or $70 thousand in no time.

Al Gore now compares his global warming battle to the civil rights battle, If that’s the case, we can only assume that he pictures himself filling the role of Dr. Martin Luther King, the fiery preacher who moved the masses with his religious loquacity.
Saint Al Gore compares the civil rights battle to his global warming battle
TheHill.com has the details of Gore’s historical allusion illusion:
Al Gore told young green energy advocates Friday that progress on global warming must come from a strong grassroots movement that can counter the oil and coal lobbies, which he alleged have “paralyzed” governments.
Gore – who compared action on global warming to the Civil Rights movement – was the keynote speaker at Power Shift 2011, a Washington, D.C. conference attended largely by college students.
“It’s true that governments by and large have been politically paralyzed because the energy companies, the coal companies, the oil companies, the coal-burning utilities, they have spent enormous amounts of money and they have succeeded in many countries in paralyzing the political process,” the former vice president said.
… Gore said the Civil Rights movement was fueled by youth questioning their parents about legal discrimination, and he drew a link to climate change.
“When they could not answer that moral question coming straight from the conscience of young people, that is when the laws began to change,” Gore said. “You need to ask, ‘tell me again why its al right to put 90 million tons of global warming pollution into the atmosphere every 24 hours, 20 percent of it will still be there in 20,000 years.’”
As we recall our 1960s history, the civil rights movement was marked by a series of marches. Seems to us that Gore’s fat, flabby, flaccid body could benefit immensely from some marching.
So it is strictly with Gore’s health in mind that we say, “Hit the road, Al.”
