Here’s another reason we hate the media.
This YouTube video has been viewed by nearly 265,000 people since February 3, 2009. Yet according to a Google News Search, the story’s been covered by just one newspaper.
Lia, a 12-year-old Toronto girl, has become an internet sensation since her mom posted this video. It shows Lia delivering a five-minute pro-life speech in a school competition.
Before the competition began, she was told she wouldn’t be allowed to compete unless she changed the topic of her speech. Despite hostility from the judges, her speech was so outstanding that she won the competition. Sadly, she was later disqualified because the subject of her speech was too “controversial.”
If you hate the media, you’ll love the speech. No matter what your position on abortion may be.

I’m staying out of the abortion discussion. I’m against it, but not hardcore. Let’s look at the lighter side of things for a second.
At about the 3:00 mark, she counted to three with her hand starting with her thumb! Who does that!?
Kevin, you are concerned about how she counts to three? How petty is that?
It’s just to bad that the world has become so politically correct, so unwilling to stand up for one’s views, and unwilling to give others the chance to express theirs without becoming a bunch of simpering and perpetually offended sheep.
Wether one agrees with her views or not her passion and skill is to be commended and encouraged, not be condemned as too controvertial. Maybe she would have been allowed to stay in the competition if her speech was about unicorns, vague ramblings about world peace or global warming.
Wow! At 12, the biggest issue I faced was whether my old bike would make it to school without falling apart.
I applaud her for having the courage to stand up against the judges and proclaim her right to free speech! She is a breathe of fresh air.
I doubt this is the last you will see of this promising young woman.

The answer to your question, Diane, is ‘incredibly’. But it’s still funny. Clearly, I’m not the one being pc here, since I’m laughing at the way a child counts to three while she discusses abortion. How sick is that? No, the pc police would be disgusted with me. Kind of like you are. Hmm, are you the pc police?
In Germany it ’s very common to start counting on the thumb then fingers.
ROB JUST CALLED THIS CHILD A NAZI!!
Hehe, just kidding
