Author Jason Mattera waylays Minnesota’s finest senator and asks him why skate parks, jungle gyms, midnight basketball and time off for breastfeeding mothers should be the federal government’s responsibility.
Franken not only proves that he doesn’t know what’s in the bill, but simultaneously proves that he’s a thoroughly unlikable person.

Just when the Democrats thought they’d bribed everyone who needed bribing and threatened everyone who needed threatening, along come a group of CEOs complaining that ObamaCare is going to cost them a friggin’ fortune.
An outraged Henry Waxman “…called the chief executive officers of AT&T, Verizon, Caterpillar and Deere & Co. to provide evidence to support costs the companies plan to book related to the new health-care law.
“Waxman, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and subcommittee Chairman Bart Stupak released letters they wrote to the executives, saying their plans to record expenses against earnings as a result of the law contradict other estimates. The lawmakers requested the executives appear at hearing Stupak plans on April 21.”
We’d guess that Waxman and Stupak don’t know that businesses have to use real money instead of the pretend kind Congress throws around with wild abandon.
Waxman stopped short of calling the CEOs liars, but said, “The new law is designed to expand coverage and bring down costs, so your assertions are a matter of concern … They also appear to conflict with independent analysis.”
Translation? Waxman thinks the CEOs are lying, or even worse, telling the truth in a way that makes Democrats look bad.
The congressmen insist they’ve been fair to the CEOs in question. They’re merely demanding that the CEOs bring all pertinent documents, emails, voice mails, etc.
As of this morning Waxman and Stupak have not announced plans to conduct full body cavity searches on the CEOs. But that’s subject to change without notification.

Sad news coming out of rural Nevada this morning. America’s first legal male prostitute has given up after just two months on the job because he’d had fewer than 10 customers.
The Associated Press fleshes out the details of the failed flesh trade:
Brothel owner Jim Davis said Friday the Shady Lady Ranch had parted ways with the “prostitude” who worked under the name Markus.
A replacement has been hired, but Davis hinted it was possible that Markus, a 25-year-old Alabama native, could be back.
“I don’t know, he hasn’t told us yet,” Davis said.
The tiny yellow brothel is 150 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
Markus, who like other sex workers has asked that his real name not be used, didn’t immediately respond to an e-mail message seeking comment.
We’ve heard rumors that the unnamed replacement is none other than Michigan Democrat Bart Stupak. He’s a natural for the job because he’s proven that he’s completely immoral and willing to sell himself if the money is right.
And considering that Stupak is currently a United States Congressman, the job is definitely a career enhancement.

The Associated Press reports that insurance premiums will jump by 17% for young adults under ObamaCare. But AP has, we think, under-calculated the real increase.
Considering that young adults commonly go without insurance and then considering the fact that ObamaCare will now force them to buy insurance they don’t want, it seems to us that a more accurate description of the premium increase would be 117%.
The Associated Press reports the premium prognostication:
Under the health care overhaul, young adults who buy their own insurance will carry a heavier burden of the medical costs of older Americans — a shift expected to raise insurance premiums for young people when the plan takes full effect.
Beginning in 2014, most Americans will be required to buy insurance or pay a tax penalty. That’s when premiums for young adults seeking coverage on the individual market would likely climb by 17 percent on average, or roughly $42 a month, according to an analysis of the plan conducted for The Associated Press. The analysis did not factor in tax credits to help offset the increase.
The higher costs will pinch many people in their 20s and early 30s who are struggling to start or advance their careers with the highest unemployment rate in 26 years.
So welcome aboard the ObamaCare Express, young Americans. You voted for the guy and now you’ll be forced to pay more for a service you don’t want and can’t afford.
Ahhh, the glories of socialism.

How, you may ask, is this story related to the media. And we answer, without forests there can be no paper and without paper there can be no print media.

How, you may ask, is this story related to the media. And we answer, without forests there can be no paper and without paper there can be no print media.
Oh, and it involves cheap, sleazy sex and it’s our blog so we’ll write about it if we damn well please.
Here are the details of the sordid story from the Telegraph UK:
The conifers were felled on the 12 hectare site on the outskirts of Darwen, Lancashire, after a “health and safety survey.”
United Utilities cleared the huge expanse of forest alongside the busy A666 claiming some of the trees, planted after the Second World War, were in danger of falling down.
But police and councillors have said that the cull was also ordered to discourage strangers from meeting for sexual intercourse at the known ‘dogging’ hotspot.Jean Rigby, a local councillor, said: “The area will be replanted with native species that, in 20 years, people will see the benefit of.
“I’m more than happy this is being carried out – and it has a double whammy in terms of the sexual behaviour. I’ve heard anecdotally that since the trees have been cleared, it’s quietened down a lot!”
Another councillor, Colin Rigby, said: “It’s essential work that United Utilities are carrying out, and cutting the trees back also works as a deterrent to people who go dogging.”
Sgt Mark Wilson, of Lancashire Police’s Darwen Neighbourhood Policing team, explained: “It’s an ongoing problem and very worrying for members of the public.“It’s far too early to tell if cutting the trees back has had any impact on the dogging situation, but we’ll be paying regular attention to the area.”
Call us juvenile (many do), but we’re amused by seeing the words “double whammy” and “sexual behavior” in the same sentence.

Things aren’t going well for Mother Gaia. Oh, not because of global warming, but instead because those damn arctic animals won’t die off like the global warming theory predicts.

Things aren’t going well for Mother Gaia. Oh, not because of global warming, but instead because those damn arctic animals won’t die off like the global warming theory predicts.
NewScientist.com tells the good news for arctic critters:
CONTRARY to popular belief, Arctic animals have done rather well over recent decades. The first analysis of a 40-year database of Arctic species reveals that populations grew by 16 per cent on average between 1970 and 2004.
The Arctic Species Trend Index covers 35 per cent of all Arctic vertebrate species. The analysis, led by Louise McRae at the Zoological Society of London, shows several mammals have benefited from hunting bans. Populations of bowhead whales, for instance, have risen by about 3 per cent per year for 30 years.
But the trend masks worrying recent declines. Warmer waters in the Bering Strait boosted the Bering Sea pollock between 1970 and 2003 by increasing plankton growth, but numbers have since declined. The dark-bellied brent goose has also declined, after an initial recovery of numbers. The team says the recent declines could be linked to climate change.
Got that? Animal populations are up, but it masks a worrying decline.
Global warming doubletalk at its finest.

When raging about the Tea Parties, Keith Olbermann, MSNBC’s resident lunatic, demanded to know, “Where are the black faces?”
While watching the NCAA basketball tournament, it occurred to us that the hypocritical host should, perhaps, ask the same question about his alma mater’s athletic program. Despite the fact that college basketball is dominated by black players, only four of the 20 players listed on Cornell’s NCAA men’s championship tournament roster are black.

Despite the fact that college basketball is dominated by black players, only four of the 20 players listed on Cornell’s NCAA men’s championship tournament roster are black. (Another black player was treated like a second class citizen by being relegated to the school’s practice squad and not even being issued a uniform number.)
Cornell men Coach Steve Donahue is white. Assistant Coach Nat Graham, white. Assistant Coach Woody Kampmann, white. Assistant Coach Kevin App, white.

Of course, HuffPo admits that “There is a key difference, however, between 2005 and 2010: the amount of Senate obstruction.” Well, that could be it, we suppose, but it also might have something to do with the type of people Obama has nominated.
Craig Becker, for example. If you missed the highlights of Mr. Becker’s stellar career, try watching this video again. This guy may well be the most liberal radical appointment Obama has made in a long line of most liberal radical appointments.

Just for fun, let’s combine two quick clips with a personal story and then laugh our asses off at the naivety of Obama voters.
The first clip is North Carolina resident DeCarlo Flythe (one of our all-time favorite names, by the way).
“It’s just going to be like Christmas,” Flythe said of ObamaCare. “It’s going to be great. You know, no worries (about) the bills. We are going to go ahead and pay our co-pay and be alright.”
Then let’s go back in time to the woman who said “Obama’s going to pay for my gas and mortgage.”

Yeah, it’s probably crazy, but that doesn’t keep it from being pretty damn interesting. Just exactly who is this guy who’s now President of the United States?
We think the first one is the same as the one we had before. The first and the second are the same except for some added captions in the second on, but we’ll keep both on here for safekeeping.

Barry Soetoro a.k.a. Barack Obama? Who is Barry Soetoro?
Yeah, it’s probably crazy, but that doesn’t keep it from being pretty damn interesting. Just exactly who is this guy who’s now President of the United States, Barry Obama, er, Barry Soetoro?
Can we see the Barry Soetoro (Obama) records? And how about the Barry Soetoro birth certificate while we are at it.

Anyone who has been around IHateTheMedia.com for a while knows we enjoy having comments from people whose opinions run counter to ours. Only a very few people have ever been banned, and that was due to extremely rude or otherwise obnoxious behavior. Obnoxious commenters come in all flavors and we’d like to highlight one case we have now, and ask what you think we should do with the young boy. We assume he is a teenager, as his comments are so simple-minded.
You see, after the 140 inane comments he’s subjected us to, he’s come to realize that people have grown tired of him and so he has taken on three new identities, hoping we might pay attention to those new commenters, and also so he has someone else to talk to. Yes, he even talks to himself though his other personas. We realized that all were the same person when we wondered how we could get so many equally clueless people commenting in such a short period. Then we checked the IP addresses and sure enough they are all “Sam” from New York.
After posting more than a hundred comments, Sam has now created TexMex, SunSun and Janet. You can see three of them conversing on this post.
Our main purpose for this post is, of course, to embarrass little Sam. But secondarily, we’re wondering dear readers, what you think we should do with this kid? Ban him, hope he walks away in shame, or let him spew his junior high level comments longer?
Sam, you may make a defense for yourself here as well if you wish. Oh, and SunSun, TexMex and Janet, you all can chime in as well.

What is America coming to when a White House spokesman can’t walk down the street without being accosted by an evil conservative reporter? Why can’t he just go to the White House briefing room and be ignored like the other conservatives?

After kicking around other labels for Pro-Life like “Those anti-abortion bastards”, NPR settled on “Abortion rights supporter(s) or advocate(s)” and “abortion rights opponent(s)”. NPR really likes this term because “rights opponent(s)” sounds a lot more nefarious than “pro-life”.

You might forgive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for feeling a little dissed by The Greatest Diplomat In History. President Obama gave him a mere handshake instead of a bow and then walked out to attend a private dinner.
Really. Fox News reports, “For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Benjamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip viewed in Jerusalem as a humiliation.”

According to the Seattle Times, conservatives are running wild in the streets and the post-ObamaCare violence is spiraling out of control. The paper breathlessly reports on one case in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Protesters have been demonstrating at (Steve) Driehaus’ Ohio home, said Tim Mulvey, a spokesman for the anti-abortion Democrat who joined Stupak in voting for the health bill. A rock was thrown through the window of Driehaus’ Cincinnati office Sunday, and a death threat was phoned in to his Washington office a day later, Mulvey said.
“It’s getting out of hand,” Mulvey said.
Just one problem with the story. Driehaus office is on the 30th story of this building.
What an arm. We expect the evil conservative rock thrower to be contacted immediately by the Cincinnati Reds, signed to a ten year, $100 million contract, and made a starting pitcher.

Earth Hour is Saturday night, March 27 from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. It’s an event we traditionally celebrate by turning on every light in the house, firing up the flat screen TV, and burning every kilowatt possible.
But the eco-wackos of the world celebrate by turning off all their lights, singing Kumbaya and huddling together for warmth. In other words, it’s like a typical night in North Korea. And that’s the future environmentalists see for you.
The Melbourne Herald-Sun points out the stupidity of it all:
The land where the lights are permanently out, as the famous satellite photograph shows of the stunning difference between the northern and southern ends of the Korean peninsula….
Nothing better captures the utter inanity of the cult of global warming and its characterisation of carbon dioxide as an even greater Satan than George W. Bush’s America than Earth Hour. Insufferably smarmy, quite pointless, contradictory, utterly inchoate.
Although I have to concede a certain bizarre honesty in the way the concept projects – a tacit admission that the anti-CO2 crusade actually does seek to literally turn off the lights…. Earth Hour seems to project that looking – literally – like North Korea is not only a good thing but where the aggressive campaign against CO2 will end up.
No, no, no, comes back the response. In the post-carbon future, alternative energy will provide all the light we want.
So if we can, if we supposedly will, look like today’s South Korea in that glorious future, why not celebrate turning on the lights?
Unbeknownst the Willie Nelson, he penned the eco-wackos’ anthem: “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.”
We say, “Turn on the lights, the party’s just getting started.” And we invite you to join us, friends, in noting Earth Hour with a celebration of the wonders of electricity.

Thursday was a big day for Montana Democrat Max Baucus. First he admitted that ObamaCare was really about redistribution of wealth. Now he admits that it will cause President Obama to break his tax pledge to the middle class:
“One other point that I think it’s very important to make,” Baucus said, “is that it is true that in certain cases, the taxes will go up for some Americans who might be making less than $200,000.”
What? Gasp! We are shocked. Shocked, we tell you. Who ever could have foreseen the day when Barack Obama would need to backtrack on one of his campaign promises.
Why, next thing you know, he’ll hire a tax cheat to run the Treasury Department.

You know, we somehow respect socialist Senator Max Baucus a little more just because he tells the truth about ObamaCare that the President won’t tell.
You know, we somehow respect socialist Senator Max Baucus a little more just because he tells the truth about ObamaCare that the President won’t tell.
Baucus: Too often, much of late, the last couple three years the mal-distribution of income in America is gone up way too much, the wealthy are getting way, way too wealthy, and the middle income class is left behind. Wages have not kept up with increased income of the highest income in America. This legislation will have the effect of addressing that mal-distribution of income in America.
Got that? Mal-distribution. Not even mis-distribution. Baucus goes straight to mal-distribution.
Sort of like the mal-distribution of power in Washington, DC.
