Don’t spit your coffee on your computer: Coffee Party changes name to Coffee & Caring Club

You’re forgiven if you don’t remember the Coffee Party. It was supposed to be the liberal response to the Tea Party but was rapidly lost in the mists of inconsequential political movements.

You’re forgiven if you don’t remember the Coffee Party. It was supposed to be the liberal response to the Tea Party but was rapidly lost in the mists of inconsequential political movements.

kamp-kumbaya
Attention: The next meeting of the Coffee & Caring Club will be held at Kamp Kumbaya. Naturally, you have to turn left to get there.

Naturally, the origin of the Tea Party –- the historic Boston Tea Party -– had no meaning to the liberals. So their new party met in coffee shops where they sat around and discussed the imponderables of life that liberals always discuss while sipping grande, non-fat, no foam lattes.

Imponderables, indeed. Like this story from the Ithaca Journal that sums up liberals in three short paragraphs:

The Coffee Party Ithaca Area changed its name to better depict issues worked on. Coffee and Caring Club Ithaca Area is the new name.

Lyn Stone, organizer said, “We’re a local grassroots organization that works on humanitarian, social and political issues that affect our community. We care about the citizenry, have compassion for defenseless animals and affect change by applauding the good and giving praise to those who help make a positive difference.

The next meetup is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16 at the Triphammer Mall location of Ithaca Bakery. In honor of Martin Luther King’s birthday, Carol Kammen, author, lecturer, historian and columnist for The Ithaca Journal, will be the guest speaker. She will talk about her article “Any Person” regarding Cornell’s yes you can attend policy when it first began in the 1860s. The only requirement was academic preparation. The color of ones skin, religion, sex, class, etc., was of no concern for admission.

On the agenda, we hope, will be changing the club’s name to something more realistic. Like, maybe, the Coffee and Caring and Blaming Bush and Singing Kumbaya Club.

If any of our readers happen to live in the Ithaca area, we’d love to get a firsthand report on that January 16 meeting. Sounds like a real barnburner. Extra credit for photos.

Barney Frank admits he’s old and tired, neglects to mention that he’s also corrupt

Barney Frank is attempting to rewrite his legacy even before he leaves Congress. And if there were ever a legacy in desperate need of rewriting, it would be Frank’s.

barney-frank
You'd still be old, Barney, but you might not be as tired if you'd stop making boinky-boinky with men half your age

The Boston Herald has the details of Barney’s interview with three college-age interviewers:

“I’m tired, and I think … it’d be nice to have some free time, not have to read a lot of stuff I don’t care about,” Frank said. “But I have this chairmanship. It’s an important time for the country.”

It must be reassuring for Frank’s constituents to know that the laws he passes are things he doesn’t care about.

“I’m in the middle of stuff, and I just … can’t walk away from it,” Frank told the youths. “I’m getting old and tired, and I’m working too hard, and this would have been a great job 20 years ago when I was 50 years old. It’s a lot of work now.”

… So why does he continue in politics after a 43-year run that includes his November re-election to a 16th term as a Democrat representing the Fourth Congressional District of Massachusetts?

“Now it’s a sense of obligation,” Frank, 70, told the three young people, who were from Montana.

It’s true. If we were Frank and frank, our sense of obligation would be immense. We’d feel obliged to stay in Congress and cover up our corruption and implication in the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac scandals, the housing bubble and America’s economic collapse as long as is humanly possible.

Reporter: “What about this odd jobs report?”
Obama: “That’s above my pay grade.”

Those may not be verbatim quotes, but they’re close enough. After two years it appears that damn near everything is above the President’s pay grade.

"Goolsby understands these unemployment numbers," the President said. "And he's hung like a horse."

Politico reports the latest incident of the President voting present:

After reading his prepared remarks on the economy at a window manufacturer on Friday, President Obama sought to take some photos with workers when a pool reporter caught up with him and asked him to explain the connection between the drop in the unemployment rate and the lower-than-expected number of jobs added in December.

Obama’s response, according to the pool:

“You know, you’ve got to talk to Austan Goolsbee. That’s his job.”

Obama then posed for some photos.

Ok, well, at least he knows what he’s good at.

Daring to run against Barack Obama’s record is now “violent rhetoric”

In writing about the horrors that occurred in Tucson, his focus was “violent rhetoric” and it wasn’t just any old violent rhetoric that had Kaplan’s liberal knickers in a knot, but the horrible, evil of “the inflammatory rhetoric of McCain/Palin events in 2008” and “the ugly confrontations at congressional town halls in the summer of 2009.”

If you read the bios of all of the “journalists” at the Huffington Post you might believe them all to be brilliant political strategists, what with “Director” of this and “Professor” of that associated with their names. And Marty Kaplan would fit that mold exactly.

marty kaplan
Marty Kaplan is the highly-esteemed Norman Lear Professor of Entertainment, Media & Society at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. How does he fit all that on a business card?

Why is it then that in writing “The Vitriol in Our National Bloodstream” Kaplan feels justified in making up his own facts?

In writing about the horrors that occurred in Tucson, his focus was “violent rhetoric” and it wasn’t just any old violent rhetoric that had Kaplan’s liberal knickers in a knot, but the horrible, evil of “the inflammatory rhetoric of McCain/Palin events in 2008” and “the ugly confrontations at congressional town halls in the summer of 2009.”

It’s kind of amazing how liberal memories work. Which “McCain/Palin events” is the author referring to? If our memory serves correctly, the only examples of violence during the 2009 town hall meetings attributed to the left, such as the infamous SEIU beating of an African-American vendor.

Going even further down the deluded liberal path, Kaplan finds the tragedy in Tucson the perfect opportunity to score political points against “right-wing anarchism” and the ridiculous individuals who “accord scriptural authority to the Constitution” and don’t believe as the author does that “The Constitution isn’t holy writ; it’s a living document whose text and meaning have evolved through the centuries” which essentially means that people like Kaplan can make it mean anything they want it to mean.

The author also wants this tragedy to be “a teachable moment.” That’s a noble sentiment, but unfortunately, he only wants it to teach something that is not true.

The right, whether speaking of Republicans, Conservatives or Tea Party, has no interest in “tearing down the government,” but merely in limiting it.

That became a crime when, Professor Kaplan?

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell loses it, calls Leslie Stahl an idiot and a simpleton

Rendell wants to expand gambling in the Keystone State. Leslie Stahl is appalled that he thinks people should be responsible for making their own decisions as to whether or not they want to participate.

Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell finally gets it right. He’s known for making outrageous comments that are, shall we say, perhaps not thought out as well as they might be. Think of him as Joe Biden on steroids. But in this case, it’s tough to disagree with the outspoken Democrat.

The background: Rendell wants to expand gambling in the Keystone State. Leslie Stahl is appalled that he thinks people should be responsible for making their own decisions as to whether or not they want to participate. The Nanny State mentality demands, of course, that people be protected from themselves.

By the end of the interview, Ed is snarling, yelling and insulting. And Leslie is Leslie, which means she deserves whatever scorn he wants to heap on her.

It’s the best 60 Minutes interview in a long time.

Here’s a transcript of the build-up to Ed’s outburst:

Rendell: “The biggest downside is that some people lose their paychecks. But understand, Lesley, they’re not losing their paychecks because Pennsylvania instituted gaming. These people were losing their paychecks in Atlantic City, in Delaware at the racetracks, or in West Virginia.”
Stahl: “So why not lose it here . . .”
Rendell: “Well, if they were going to lose it anyway, let’s get the upside. We were getting all the downside and none of the upside.”
Stahl: “The counter-argument is that you’re creating new gamblers. And lots of new gamblers.”
Rendell: “We’re not creating new gamblers.”
Stahl: “Well, ’cause it’s down the street.”
Rendell: “Those people play the lottery. They bet on football. How much money is bet on the Super Bowl.”
Stahl: “People are losing money for the state to get its revenue. They’re losing money.”
Rendell: “Let me answer this. You . . . you’ve . . . I’ve always . . . I’ve known, uh, for two or three decades, you’re a very smart person.”
Stahl: “But not now.”
Rendell: “But you’re not getting it.”
Stahl: “I’m dumb now.”
Rendell: “You’re not getting it. Those people would lose that money anyway. Don’t you understand? You guys don’t get that. You’re simpletons. You’re idiots if you don’t get that . . . That’s the answer and it’s the right answer.”

So long, Alan Grayson. And thanks for all the laughs!

Against the better judgement or mothers everywhere, we are going to treat you at least one more laugh at the expense of fired congressman Alan Grayson.

It is not entirely true that nobody likes a sore winner. We happen to like them. And we’re betting that you do, too. That is why, against the better judgement or mothers everywhere, we are going to treat you at least one more laugh at the expense of fired congressman Alan Grayson.

Don’t worry, the guy who made a (thankfully brief) political career out of hating the rich is worth about $31 million. He can afford it.

And so on to The New York Times:

He has zero faith in the incoming speaker of the House, John A. Boehner, whom he calls a “tool of special interest.”

He derides the Tea Party’s successes as “bought and paid for by the enormously rich and the selfish.”

And he can barely contain distaste for his Republican successor, whose views he sums up as “bizarre fundamentalist.”

Representative Alan Grayson, a Democrat from Florida’s Eighth Congressional District, is leaving office on Wednesday much as he entered it two years ago — as the pugnaciously partisan, verbal-bomb-tossing, liberal folk hero of the 111th Congress.

Given that liberal folk heroes are generally comprised of cop killers, mass murderers and eugenicists, it cannot be certain that this send off can be considered as a compliment.

Not to worry though. Our sendoff will be with much less ambiguity. And without even the hint of anything that could be considered complimentary.

Hey, Alan. Na na na na, hey hey hey, GOODBYE!

Behold the power of Mother Gaia! She causeth rains that flood a coal mine that causeth global warming!

Eco-wackos tell us that coal is killing the planet. In fact, they tell us that it is causing global warming that is, in turn, causing a drought that is, in turn, causing the entire continent of Australia to dry up and blow away.

Eco-wackos tell us that coal is killing the planet. In fact, they tell us that it is causing global warming that is, in turn, causing a drought that is, in turn, causing the entire continent of Australia to dry up and blow away.

australia-coal-mine-floodNews.com.au has details for any droughting Thomases among you:

The massive Queensland coal industry is at a standstill as flooding shuts mines, rail lines and ports.

The flooding is causing at least $2 billion in lost production for the industry – source of more than half the world’s seaborne trade in the commodity.

That’s right. Coal is causing global warming. Global warming is causing the greatest drought in Australian history. So Mother Gaia is getting her revenge by causing torrential downpours which have caused massive flooding that closed down this Australian coal mine.

Yes, of course, drought and torrential rain seem contradictory to us – the unwashed and the uninformed – but they’re not. Truth is, we’re just not smart enough to understand the power and logic and really nasty temperament of Mother Gaia.

The old lady’s a bitch.

Twelve things to do now that you know global warming is a total fraud

Twelve things to do now that you know global warming is a total fraud

Use toilet paper like it's as worthless as money in Washington, DC.

1. Use all the damn toilet paper you want. Double ply. Triple ply. And if they make it, quadruple ply.

2. Keep your car idling while you listen to “Free Bird” one more time.

3. Take a long, hot shower with a high-flow showerhead after watching the
latest Megan Fox movie.

4. Light up a big pile of old growth firewood and get cozy on your polar
bear rug.

5. Start that fire by using your prized copy of “An Inconvenient Truth” as kindling.

6. As long as its brakes don’t fail, take your Prius down to the nearest
dealership and trade it in on a big, honkin muscle car.

7. Pause to laugh at global warming advocates shoveling snow off their
driveways.

8. Use real light bulbs that create actual friggin’ light when you flip the
switch.

9. Reschedule that polar bear hunt you cancelled in the 90s.

11. Instead of scraping the frost of your car windows in the morning, crank
up Glenn Beck, and use the defrosters.

12. Cancel that trip to the Himalayas to see the glaciers before they disappear.

Poor, misunderstood Nancy Pelosi explains that she’s really “all about market-oriented solutions”

Now we find out that all Nancy Pelosi really wanted to do was out Milton Friedman Milton Friedman. The woman is all about those gol’ danged free market solutions. She’s all over ‘em. Loves ‘em. Has ‘em on her cinnamon raisin bagel in the morning.

The problem, we now discover, is that people never understood that because she’s both dense and incomprehensible.

“All of the inititiatves we had put forth, whether it was healthcare reform or it was the issues that were related to energy security for our country or whether it was Wall Street help, Wall Street reform, any of them, were all about market-oriented solutions, about private sector leading the way, public policy to set standards or have tax incentives or…or…and the like. But it was all about recognizing our job creation would have to take place in the private sector in order for us to really thrive and be entrepreneurial as a country. So that…the labeling of the President as not being in that mode is not correct. That’s who he is.”

We never understood what she was talking about and after watching this video it’s clear that she doesn’t, either.

By the way, who super glued Nancy’s knees together?

The media puts on the Full Alinsky after tragedy in Tucson

Yesterday, as the Tragedy in Tucson unfolded, FOX gave viewers the journalistic basics – who, what, where and when. They left out “why” as it is yet to be determined, but that didn’t stop the other networks from making both assumptions and accusations.

One doesn’t have to look hard to discover why MSNBC and CNN jostle each other for last place in cable news ratings.

Yesterday, as the Tragedy in Tucson unfolded, FOX gave viewers the journalistic basics – who, what, where and when.

They left out “why” as it is yet to be determined, but that didn’t stop the other networks from making both assumptions and accusations. CNN and MSNBC put on the full Alinsky, disgracefully exploiting the shootings to make political hay.

In Rules for Radicals Saul Alinsky said, “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it  and polarize it.” So   instead of blaming the actual shooter and his twisted left wing political philosophy, the mainstream media followed Alinksy’s instructions and blamed all their usual suspects: Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and the Tea Party.

Liberals, the fraudulent Guardians of Free Speech, are once again making a pitch to silence speech they don’t agree with. Yet they choose to ignore the hateful screed of the liberal Daily KOS, who published, then scrubbed, multiple attacks on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, including bulls-eye targets and expressions of “She is dead to me now.”

daily kos

This post has mysteriously vanished

They tossed buckets of blood on Sarah Palin, then pointed their fingers and yelled, “She has blood on her hands!” And they did so without shame, without any sense of hypocrisy.

Six dead, including a child. A dozen injured. Dozens more in pain – the family and friends of the victims.

And all the mainstream media wants to do is exploit it, further fracturing the nation.

After Tucson, it can no longer be said that Obama’s media minions lean left. There is no lean – they are completely, overtly liberal. They’ve discarded the mask.

Yes, after Tucson it’s clear to see why CNN and MSNBC battle each other for last in the ratings, why they are so far back they are invisible in FOX’s rear view mirror.

Small justice, in that.

Six other cases when the media incorrectly blamed conservatives for liberal violence

The liberal media rushed to judgment after the tragedy in Tucson and without any information to back their assertions declared that assassin Jared Loughner was a conservative. When the facts came out, it turned out that he’s a left wing lunatic.

Former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said, “Never let a crisis go to waste.” The liberal corollary seems to be “Never let a tragedy go to waste.”

jared loughner
Photo of assassin Jared Loughner from his MySpace profile

The liberal media rushed to judgment after the tragedy in Tucson and without any information to back their assertions declared that assassin Jared Loughner was a conservative, that he was influenced by Sarah Palin or by Rush Limbaugh or by Glenn Beck or by the Tea Party. Or by all of the above.

When the facts came out, it turned out that he’s a left wing lunatic.

Legal Insurrection put together a good list of similar tragedies and similar inaccurate accusations:

Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have seen this type of reaction. The meme that opponents of Obama are crazy and dangerous has been an explicit Democratic Party campaign strategy for over two years. Here is just a partial list of events in which the left-wing and Democratic Party media operation has immediately blamed right-wing rhetoric, only to be proven wrong when the facts finally came out: Bill Sparkman, Amy Bishop, The Fort Hood Shooter, The IRS Plane Crasher, The Cabbie Stabbing, and The Pentagon Shooter.

If you’ve never read LegalInsurrection.com, give it a try. They do great work.

Did the Tea Party or Sarah Palin incite Jared Loughner to shoot Gabrielle Giffords?

Sadly, charges are already flying over who is “responsible” for inciting Jared Loughner, 22, to shoot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and a dozen others, six of whom have died.

Sadly, charges are already flying over who is “responsible” for inciting Jared Loughner, 22, to shoot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona and a dozen others, six of whom have died.

Liberal websites are quickly accusing Sarah Palin and the Tea Party of creating the environment that set off a crazed lunatic like Loughner. Even old liberal warhorse Jane Fonda has indicted Sarah Palin with absolutely no evidence to support her accusations.

jared loughner
Jared Loughner's photo from the 2006 Mountain View High School yearbook

However, a quick look at Loughner’s YouTube channel offers no basis for such conclusions. In fact, if anything, it seems to indicate extreme left wing influences.

For example, Loughner’s YouTube channel lists the following books as his favorites.

I had favorite books: Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of OZ, Aesop Fables, The Odyssey, Alice Adventures Into Wonderland, Fahrenheit 451, Peter Pan, To Kill A Mockingbird, We The Living, Phantom Toll Booth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Pulp,Through The Looking Glass, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Old Man And The Sea, Gulliver’s Travels, Mein Kampf, The Republic, and Meno.

It’s highly unlikely that Mein Kampf and The Communist Manesfesto are listed among the reading material of very many Tea Party members.

Loughner created and uploaded three remarkably paranoid videos to his YouTube channel. You can see them at the bottom of this story. None of them have anything to do with the Tea Party or Sarah Palin.

That being said, we think you’ll find it instructive to watch the one video Loughner marked as his favorite among the millions of YouTube videos available. It shows a man wearing a smiley face mask walking up to and setting on fire an American flag planted in the desert. Burning the American flag is almost exclusively the domain of liberal protesters. It’s something no Tea Party patriot would ever condone.

Make sure you turn up the audio and listen to the words of the heavy metal music to understand Loughner’s twisted view of the world.

UPDATE: Catie Parker, one of Loughner’s classmates at Mountain View High School, also indicates that he was extremely left wing. Here’s a series of Tweets she left regarding the assassin aggregated into one continuous message:

This is a circus. Good Morning America just called me … it’s loughner just checked my year book … I haven’t seen him since ’07. Then, he was left wing … more left. I haven’t seen him since ’07 though. He became very reclusive … he had a lot of friends until he got alcohol poisoning in ’06, & dropped out of school. Mainly loner very philosophical … As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy … he was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix,The Doors, Anti-Flag. I haven’t seen him in person since ’07 in a sign language class … He was a political radical & met Giffords once before in ’07, asked her a question & he told me she was “stupid & unintelligent”

Here’s is Jared Loughner’s “favorite” video:

Here are the videos Loughner created and uploaded to his YouTube channel:

State Department kills off your “mother” and “father.” Replaces them with “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”

The Obama administration has now officially descended to a level one step above the old Conehead skit on Saturday Night Live. The State Department has decided that those people you used to call your mother and father should now be designated “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”

The Obama administration has now officially descended to a level one step above the old Conehead skit on Saturday Night Live. The State Department has decided that those people you used to call your mother and father should now be designated “Parent One” and “Parent Two.”

Beldar and Prymatt, the Conehead “Parental Units,” will sleep well tonight.

Fox News has details of your antithetical antecedents:

The words “mother” and “father” will be removed from U.S. passport applications and replaced with gender neutral terminology, according to the State Dept.

“The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father’,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services Brenda Sprague. “They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’”

A statement on the State Department website noted: “These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.”

Sprauge said the decision to remove the traditional parenting names was not an act of political correctness.

No, of course, it wasn’t. Perish the thought. That had absolutely nothing to do with it.

“We find that with changes in medical science and reproductive technology that we are confronting situations now that we would not have anticipated 10 or 15 years ago,” she said.

Gay rights groups are hailing the decision.

In the words of Gomer Pyle, “Surprise, surprise, surprise.”

“Changing the term mother and father to the more global term of parent allows many different types of families to be able to go and apply for a passport for their child without feeling like the government doesn’t recognize their family,” said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of Family Equality Council.

Her organization lobbied the government for several years to remove the words from passport applications.

In other news, a State Department spokesman announced that passports will longer designate an individual’s sex. “Sexual identity is a fluid, ambiguous situation,” the spokesman said, “So in the future American passports will simply designate their holders as ‘human.’”

We made up that last paragraph, but would it surprise you to read that announcement in some future State Department press release?

Rick’s new rant: Santelli unhappy with critics of Congressional Constitution reading

Rick Santelli saw the hypocrisy of members of Congress who were sworn in to uphold and protect the Constitution (at least most of them) but pushed back against the idea of having it read on the chamber floor.

The Father of the Tea Party is not happy. And you know what happened the last time Rick Santelli got upset.

Liberals didn’t want the Constitution read on the floor of the House on Thursday. New York Democrat Jerrold Nadler, actually complained that it was being read “like a sacred text.” The New York Times called it “a presumptuous and self-righteous act.”

That didn’t sit well with CNBC’s Rick Santelli.

The Daily Caller has the details:

“Oh my God. We’re wasting so much money. You know this reading stuff is way overrated – whether it’s the Constitution – or reading scores in the U.S., or reading bills,” he said sarcastically. “A complete waste of time – come on. This is the digital age.”

He noted the hypocrisy of members of Congress who were sworn in to uphold and protect the Constitution (at least most of them) but pushed back against the idea of having it read on the chamber floor.

“You know what then – here’s what I want to know – then why did they all swear to that when they took their jobs yesterday? What a bunch of hypocrites.”

“Squawk Box” co-host Joe Kernen offered his view on how he thought some members of Congress viewed the document.

“Some swear to and some swear at it, I think,” Kernen said.

Do. Not. Piss. Off. Rick. Santelli.

Nancy Pelosi speaks, Rosie O’Donnell listens, national bankruptcy ensues

We recall Pelosi’s previous statement that “We had to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” and think to ourselves, “No, you don’t. Just look across our northern border.”

These two short videos pretty much sum up sad situation we find ourselves in with ObamaCare.

In the first clip, Nancy Pelosi tells the fawning press that the Democrats would have passed ObamaCare “even if everyone was happy with their health coverage.” For once, Pelosi unwittingly told the truth, because polls at the time showed that somewhere north of 80% of Americans were satisfied with their healthcare prior to ObamaCare.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaKM8jZonq0

To see your unfortunate medical future, watch the second video.

We learned from the Radio Equalizer that Rosie O’Donnell has a satellite radio program. Yeah, we were as shocked as you are, but not as shocked as Rosie was when she got a phone call from a Canadian listener who started off by praising Canada’s universal healthcare system and then revealed that she had been waiting for gastric bypass surgery for seven years and may have to wait several more years.

Caller: It’s not considered an emergency surgery–

O’Donnell: Oh, OK.

Caller: It’s considered elective, so if it was an emergency surgery, it would be a lot quicker. To see any kind of specialist is at least a few months, you’re not going to get into see somebody next week.

O’Donnell: If you called and sort of were persistent in saying to them, ‘I really need this’ … it doesn’t change the [waiting] list order.

Caller: … They’re telling me, by the way, it’s gonna be another two or three years … There’s still about 2,000 people ahead of me.

We recall Pelosi’s previous statement that “We had to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” and think to ourselves, “No, you don’t. Just look across our northern border.”

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gets Ike Turnered by his own peeps

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not a physically imposing man. In fact, he’s really not much of a man at all. That’s why we weren’t all that surprised when Wikileaks revealed that the Iranian leader had been smacked up the side of the head by a guy named Mohammed Ali Jafari.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not a physically imposing man. In fact, he’s really not much of a man at all. That’s why we weren’t all that surprised when Wikileaks revealed that the Iranian leader had been smacked up the side of the head by a guy named Mohammed Ali Jafari.

mohammed-ali-jafari
In the blue corner, fighting out of Tehran, is Mohammed Ali Jafari.

Yeah, you read that right, the guy’s name is Mohammed Ali. File that under weirdly appropriate.

New York Daily News has the blow-by-blow:

The February 2010 cable, classified secret and puckishly headlined, “He Who Got Slapped,” quotes an intelligence source recounting a contentious meeting of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

The Iranian bigs were trying to figure out what to do in the wake of Tehran’s explosive pro-democracy street protests of 2009.

“Ahmadinejad claimed that ‘people feel suffocated,’ and mused that to defuse the situation it may be necessary to allow more personal and social freedoms, including more freedom of the press,” the cable says.

It continues, “Ahmadinejad’s statements infuriated Revolutionary Guard Chief of Staff Mohammed Ali Jafari, who exclaimed ‘You are wrong! [In fact] it is YOU who created this mess! And now you say give more freedom to the press?!’

“Source said that Jafari then slapped Ahmadinejad in the face, causing an uproar.”

Now a lesser despot might have slinked off to lick his wounds in private or, rather, let his favorite goat do that for him. But not our man Mahmoud.

The five foot four inch piker picked himself up. He dusted himself off. And, as soon as the opportunity presented itself, he promptly bitch slapped Barack Obama. Over and over and over again.

Damn, it feels good to be the dictator.

How dumb are MSNBC viewers? This dumb.

Jealous of the attention its competitor was getting, MSNBC this week went out of its way to show that it thinks its viewers have the intellectual development of second graders.

Last week liberals intentionally misinterpreted a new study that seemed to indicate that Fox News viewers are dumber than viewers of other networks. Jealous of the attention its competitor was getting, MSNBC this week went out of its way to show that it thinks its viewers have the intellectual development of second graders.

Debt ceiling. Two simple words, one simple phrase. It’s not all that difficult a concept to comprehend. Unless, apparently, you’re a viewer of MSNBC in which case it has to explained to you in excrutiatingly simple terms.

In this clip MSNBC reporter Richard Lui plays the role of “spending” and acts out what would happen if the debt ceiling is raised. After watching his remarkably nuanced performance, we can’t decide if he’s using the Stanislawski Method or the Strasberg Method.

The only conclusion we can draw from this clip is that the M in MSNBC must stand for Moron.

Ten pithy quotes from Tammy Bruce. Yeah, pithy’s a good word.

Tammy Bruce is a radio talk show host, bestselling author, blogger, and Fox News contributor. She’s also a bit of a paradox because she’s a gay, pro-choice, gun totin’, pro-death penalty, Tea Party conservative. And best of all, she’s a convert to conservatism.

We’ve said it before here at IHateTheMedia.com, but it’s worth saying again. We love Tammy Bruce.

Tammy Bruce had to convert to conservatism. She was too attractive to remain a liberal woman.

She’s a radio talk show host, bestselling author, blogger, and contributor on Fox News. She’s also a bit of a paradox because she’s a gay, pro-choice, gun totin’, pro-death penalty, Tea Party conservative.

And best of all, she’s a convert. To conservatism, that is, not lesbianism.

Yeah, she used to be a liberal. We started listening to her radio show on KABC/Los Angeles way back in the early ‘90s when she was a liberal. So damn liberal, in fact, that she was president of the Los Angeles chapter of NOW. But damn it, she was also so damn smart and and so damn funny and and so damn entertaining that we forgave her those minor indiscretions.

Tammy served on Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s transition team after he was elected governor of California in 2003. We’ll also forgive her that indiscretion because many of us here in the former Golden State actually made the mistake of believing that Arnold was a principled conservative.

If you’ve never heard Tammy Radio, give it a listen. You’ll quickly understand why we love the damn woman.

But enough of this idle fiddle faddle. Here are ten pieces of wit and smart ass wisdom that make us love Tammy:

  1. “Trials are no longer about freeing the innocent, punishing the guilty, and making restitution to the injured. They have devolved into a contest over who will win.”
  2. “When the courts decide that murderers, rapists, and others who maliciously break our social contract deserve health care that most working Americans can’t afford, they are condemning good people to death.”
  3. “Yes, we have the freedom to do what we please, but it only works because we don’t do everything we might please – we should exercise some degree of personal, and corporate, responsibility.”
  4. “Manipulating pop culture is the Left Elite’s sure-fire way of forcing society to bend to their depraved view of themselves and this country.”
  5. “For those whose goal it is to twist wrong into right, a good starting point is to convince young people that the vulgar is beautiful.”
  6. “In my opinion any man who thinks simply having his penis removed, having breast implants, and taking hormones turns him into a woman needs to be in a psychiatrist’s office, not in a parade.”
  7. “Believing a person deserves a defense is not the same as doing anything in your power to get him off scot-free.”
  8. “The Left Elite only pretend to be concerned about what’s best for everyone else because it is the most effective way to manipulate you and your children into their abyss.”
  9. “For the gay establishment, the death of right and wrong began when gaining civil rights ceased to be enough.”
  10. “For women who turn to welfare, Big Brother becomes Husband.”

The ugly truth: Ten members of Congress who couldn’t get laid in a whorehouse with a fistful of fifties

Jim VandeHei, Politico‘s Executive Editor, appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and said that ugly politicians are more susceptible to … shall we say … temptations of the flesh than their better-looking colleagues.

Jim VandeHei, Politico‘s Executive Editor, appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe and said that ugly politicians are more susceptible to … shall we say … temptations of the flesh than their better-looking colleagues.

“I’ve covered the Hill for about 16 years. The effect this place has, especially [on] men who come to Washington who are away from their families and the behavior you see at night is the behavior you often saw from our friends in college. Especially unattractive members of the Congress who have not had women show attention to them maybe since college. They come here. Power is an aphrodisiac. Suddenly they have women who are interested in them. It’s a temptation some can’t withstand.”

Scarbrough agreed, saying, “Yeah, some of the fattest, ugliest guys ….”

That got us thinking. Who are these hideous-looking human beings. So we took on our toughest assignment yet – looking through photos of every member of Congress. We used a very scientific method to determine who belonged on the list. We went through the list of official Congressional photos. We figured that if this is the way they look in photos for which they posed, this is the best they can possibly look.

The criterion were simple: We ignored those who were merely fat, or odd-looking or merely goofy-looking. Yeah, friends, we went for the damn near deformed. The barely human. The unadulterated ugly who are, according to VandeHei, soon to be often adulterated.

Let us be generous: The average Congressman is so unattractive that he couldn’t get laid in a whorehouse with a fistful of fifties. David Vitter aside, that is.

After many painful hours of looking at official photos and after a tie-breaking vote by Mrs. Editor and Mrs. Administrator, we’ve put together this list of the ten members of Congress most likely to be tempted.

al-franken

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) – Comedians say it’s easier to get laughs if you’re also funny looking. Based on that, Franken is a laugh riot.

john-kerry

Senator John Kerry (D-MA) – His friends say he looks French. Coincidentally, the French word for ugly is “laid,” something Kerry would never be if he weren’t powerful.

mark-begich

Senator Mark Begich (R-AK) – Mark put the “beg” in “Begich.” He also put the “beg” in sex, because that’s that only way he’d get any.

g-k-butterfield

Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) – This guy’s head is huge. He has more chins than the proverbial Chinese phone book. And he’s getting dangerously close to having a Hitler moustache. But other than that…

geoff-davis

Rep. Geoff Davis (R-KY) – According to legend George Washington had a set of chompers made out of wood.  This guy, it would seem, had his made out of butter.

eliot-engel

Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) – If the whole public servant thing doesn’t pan out he can always go back to giving away free candy out of the back of his van.

tim-johnson-2

Rep. Timothy Johnson (R-IL) – Johnson looks like a mortician, which is quite a coincidence, because the only way he could get lucky before his days in Congress was to hang out at the funeral parlor and wait for the embalming process to take hold. Oh, happy Friday night!

daniel-lipinski

Rep. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL) – Something tells us that not everybody in congress can claim to have had two sets of grandparents.

frank-lobiondo

Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ) – The illegitimate love child of Tonto and Jack Webb. The high society Washington, DC babes call Frank their “little moon pie face.” They add the pie part just to be nice.

henry-waxman

Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) – We’re pretty sure that Henry Waxman has never been laid.  Lucky for him his species is capable of reproducing asexually.  Unluckily for us his species is capable of reproducing asexually.

Rookie of the Year

blake-farenthold

Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) – Did you ever see that movie “The Forty Year Old Virgin”?  Judd Apatow is still writing this guy checks.

Ugly Emeritus

alan-grayson

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) – Power-loving women fawned over Alan. Was it his piñata-shaped bubble head that turned them on or simply the mysterious  gaze of a man without a frontal lobe?

chris-dodd
Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) – Once Chris became Senator, women immediately found his “badger stuck on an electric fence” look quite appealing.

Women’s Auxiliary

maxine-waters

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) -Based on this theory, Waters is boinking her brains out in Washington, DC. Which explains many of her public comments.

debbie-wasserman-schultz

Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) – A picture may well be worth a thousand words.  But this Wasserman Schultz portrait only brings one to my mind:  Abstinence. Ironically this troll is a major champion for Planned Parenthood.

rosa-delauro

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) – Folks back home are sure disappointed with the distinguished madam from Planet Vulcan. Her support of Obamacare and Barackonomics have guaranteed that we shall neither live long nor prosper.

shelley-berkley

Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NV) – Whoa! Who knew that Carol Channing and Jeffrey Dahmer had a secret love child?

olympia-snowe

Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME) – When they call politics “Hollywood for ugly people,” it’s Olympia Snowe they’re talking about. Is it just us or is it almost impossible to tell her ear from her nose?

Rasmussen: Donkeys becoming an endangered species?

Rasmussen finds that more Americans now consider themselves to be members of the party of Lincoln and Reagan than of FDR and Obama.

The headline may be overstating it a bit – ok, more than a bit – but that thought must cross the minds of Democrat strategists when they see the latest poll from Rasmussen.

elephant-donkey
No wonder donkeys are an endangered species

Rasmussen finds that more Americans now consider themselves to be members of the party of Lincoln and Reagan than of FDR and Obama. The poll finds that 37 percent of Americans now call themselves Republicans, compared with 34 percent who call themselves Democrats. Rasmussen adds, “Keep in mind that figures reported…are for all adults, not likely voters. Republicans are a bit more likely to participate in elections than Democrats.”

Two Januaries ago, in 2009, the same poll showed that Democrats outnumbered Republicans by a tally of 41 to 33 percent. That’s a swing of 11 percentage points in party allegiance, away from Democrats (who have lost 7 points) and toward Republicans (who have gained 4 points), since President Obama took office.

Thanks, President Obama. This is a lot more change than we ever could have hoped for.

Ted Nugent meets Roseanne Barr. Unfortunately, he left his bow and arrows at home.

Anderson Cooper assembled one of the more eclectic group of panelists in recent history on Wednesday night: Motor City Madman Ted Nugent, formerly funny comedian Roseanne Barr and pollster Cornell Belcher.

Anderson Cooper assembled one of the more eclectic group of panelists in recent history on Wednesday night: Motor City Madman Ted Nugent, formerly funny comedian Roseanne Barr and pollster Cornell Belcher.

Everyone was on their best behavior for most of the discussion, but you knew it had to erupt sooner or later. It didn’t disappoint.

Nugent: Chicago people don’t look very helped to me. It looks like a tragedy. Did he help Cabrini Green? Is that one of his projects?
Belcher: You go to keep trying to help people.
Nugent: No, you need to try to help people by scolding them to help themselves. If you keep rewarding them for sleeping in then they’ll never get out of slavery. Why would you support slavery?
Barr: I’m scolding you because you’re blaming the people at the bottom who have nothing whatsoever..
Nugent: I’m blaming people who refuse to be productive.
Barr: Why don’t you blame the people who have the blame? Why aren’t you ever…
Nugent: Why do you want to people who have jobs and produce things?
Barr: I want to blame the Koch brothers and the billionaires and all the people who robbed the taxpayers of this country, absolutely.
Nugent: The government is the one who’s robbed the taxpayers this of country.
Barr: What would we do without government? Expect the rich people to take care of the poor? Are you crazy?
Nugent: The rich people are the ones providing jobs.
Barr: No, they’re not. There are no jobs. There are no jobs and rich people…
Nugent: Rich people who put all their lives the line to get creative.
Barr: Rich people don’t pay squat and it’s proven.

You know Nugent was thinking, “Wonder how long it will take me to bag my limit when Roseann season opens.”

Hilarious Harry: Reid says, “The American people love government”

Yes, friends, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced on Wednesday that it’s not the institution of government that people dislike, it’s the politics.

This is side splittin’ political humor at its finest. Why this guy is funnier than Will Rogers and Dennis Miller and Fred Thompson put together.

Yes, friends, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced on Wednesday that it’s not the institution of government that people dislike, it’s the politics.

Close, but no cigar, Harry.

In reality, it’s not the institution of government that people dislike, it’s the politicians. Particularly Democrats from Nevada.
