We love those days when Barack Obama sounds more like Joe Biden than Abraham Lincoln and yet the crowds cheer and the media continues to tell us he is The Greatest Orator In History.
Like the other day in Illinois when the Gaffe Machine In Chief said:
“So the challenge we have now is how do we set up a system where, yes, we’re welcoming new people to our country, which by the way makes us stronger. One of the things that is a huge advantage for America compared to countries like Europe is, actually, we’re constantly replenishing ourselves with hungry, driven people who are coming here, and they want to work, and they start a business, and our population is younger and more dynamic, and that’s a good thing!”
Sarah Palin says, “You can see Russia from Alaska” and it becomes a national joke. Barack Obama redefines Europe as a country and mapmakers begin redrawing the world.
Uncle Ted Kennedy had a vision for America. Sadly, that vision was usually blurred by a few too many Chivas & sodas. Now nephew Patrick Kennedy is doing everything he can to honor his uncle’s legacy.
Six vodka shots? We hope someone called this guy a cab.
Teddy Kennedy had a vision for America. Sadly, that vision was usually blurred by a few too many Chivas & sodas. Now Patrick Kennedy is doing everything he can to honor his dad’s legacy.
RollCall.com reviews the revelry:
Rep. Patrick Kennedy was spotted doing vodka shots last week at a Capitol Hill bar just hours after he spoke about his history of substance abuse at a charity event.
An HOH tipster and a pal were sitting at the bar at the Capitol Lounge around 11 p.m. on Tuesday when the Rhode Island Democrat walked in and took a seat between the pair.
The tipster’s friend asked the Congressman what he was drinking, and when Kennedy replied vodka, the group ordered vodka shots, the tipster tells us.
After slamming down the first round, another was ordered, then a third. Our tipster and his friend stopped doing shots, but Kennedy drank three more until the bartender cut him off, at least from obtaining any more shots, our tipster says.
Our tipster adds Kennedy was in a lively mood, joking with others at the bar and even boasting about President Barack Obama, calling him “the best president ever.”
When our tipster countered: “Wait a second. What about your uncle?” — referring, of course, to President John F. Kennedy — the younger Kennedy jovially responded, “Oh yeah! Good one,” and slapped our tipster’s back, he says.
It’s always nice to see a young man so dedicated to following his family’s cherished traditions.
Sometimes a mansion in Tennessee just isn’t enough. When you’re busy jetting around the world saving humanity from the terrors of global warming, you really need a west coast getaway. So global warming hypocrite Al Gore has now purchased a little place in California.
Albert H. Gore. The "H", of course, stands for Hypocrite
Sometimes a mansion in Tennessee just isn’t enough. When you’re busy jetting around the world saving humanity from the terrors of global warming, you really need a west coast getaway. So global warming hypocrite Al Gore has now purchased a little place in California.
Oh, wait. Did we say “little place”? Not exactly. It’s a huge friggin’ estate overlooking the Pacific ocean in toney Montecito, California.
The Los Angeles Times reports the hypocritical news:
Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a Montecito-area property to their real estate holdings, reports the Montecito Journal.
The couple spent $8,875,000 on an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, a real estate source familiar with the deal confirms. The Italian-style house has six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
For those of you who don’t live in California, let us explain local real estate terminology.
“Peekaboo ocean view” means you can see the ocean if you stand on a chair and look out the kitchen window.
“Ocean view” means you can see a patch of blue without standing on the chair.
“Oceanfront” means there are actual waves lapping at your back door.
Some people wonder why a man as wealthy as Gore didn’t spring for an oceanfront house.
Well, the fact is that Al Gore is just plain smarter than we common folk. He knows that as the oceans rise, his new house will eventually become oceanfront.
This photo brings up one other question: It’s a funeral and we can certainly understand why everyone is so somber. Everyone, that is, except Nancy Pelosi. What’s with the big smile on her face?

Last quarter, economic growth came in at 5.7%. This week the latest quarter’s number came in and growth was just 3.2%. The President’s response?
Last quarter, economic growth came in at 5.7%. This week the latest quarter’s number came in and growth was just 3.2%.
The President’s response?
“The economy that was losing jobs a year ago is creating jobs today. After the single biggest economic crisis in our lifetimes, we’re heading in the right direction. We’re moving forward. Our economy is stronger — that economic heartbeat is growing stronger. But I measure progress by a different pulse.”
The economy slows down and the President says we’re making progress. Iran continues making nuclear weapons and insulting the United States and Obama says we’re making progress. The deficit continues to skyrocket and Obama says we’re making progress.
This, apparently, is what being a progressive is all about.
How strange is this video from Afghanistan? Don’t ask, don’t tell. Here is the story of America’s elite troops in action. Dance action, that is.
How strange is this video from Afghanistan? Don’t ask, don’t tell.
TheSmokingGun.com has the story of America’s elite troops in action. Dance action, that is:
In what may be the most entertaining music video homage ever shot in a war zone, a group of American soldiers stationed at a military base in southwest Afghanistan star in a lip-synced version of Lady Gaga’s hit “Telephone.” The video, which yesterday began to spread online, was filmed recently inside what appears to be a garage at the Forward Operating Base in Farah Province. Posted to YouTube a week ago, the 3:45 production–complete with props, signs, and costumes–features an all-male cast from the 82nd Airborne Division. The video, which can be viewed above, was the brainchild of Aaron Melcher, a married 24-year-old soldier who graduated in 2004 from North Carolina’s Gramercy Christian School. Melcher opens the video in a pas de deux, of sorts, with fellow enlistee Justin Baker, who is not nearly as enthusiastic a dancer as the gyrating Melcher, who incorporated elements of the original video’s choreography in his desert remake.
Yeah, we know this video has become an internet sensation. But we prefer the ones where lots of bad guys get blown up.
But then, we don’t like Dancing With The Stars since Chuck Liddel got voted off, either.
C’mon, man, no one in their right mind would pay $35,000 to hear Barack Obama speak when you can hear him speak and speak and speak for free every single friggin’ day. In fact, we know people who might pay that much to shut him up, so the performance aspect of the night obviously rested squarely on Arie’s shoulders.
We haven’t heard how the concert turned out at last week’s Los Angeles fundraiser for Barbara Boxer and the DNC, but the pressure was clearly on India Arie to deliver one hell of a performance.
We have nothing against Ms. Arie nor her music. In fact, we like her combination of soul, hip hop, jazz and gospel. But how much does the girl have to ramp it up to justify the $35,000 price tag that Dems put on her appearance with the Greatest President In History?

Of course, the real beneficiaries of this fun-filled evening were Barbara Boxer and the Democratic Party in California.
You might think that getting the Beatles back together (as hard as that might prove to be) would not be enough to save Boxer. But remember that this is California where NPR says “…unlike in other parts of the country, both Obama and Boxer could benefit from passage of the health care law. A Los Angeles Times/University of Southern California poll this month said California voters have a generally positive view of the health care bill. Forty-six percent said they would be more likely to vote for a lawmaker who supported the bill compared with 29 percent who said they would not be.”
We’ve heard of the earthquake that is supposed to separate California from the rest of the country. But it didn’t take anything nearly that drastic to separate the state from reality.
Sycophantic reporters are growing tired of getting the runaround from “the most transparent administration in history.” And, Al Gore is angry and says the press gives too much attention to “ridiculous claims” of global warming deniers.
"Now...uhhh...hold on, fellas...uhhh...I'm the most...uhhh...lovable President ever."
Story Number One: Sycophantic reporters are growing tired of getting the runaround from “the most transparent administration in history.”
Politico.com has the details:
Reporters say the White House is thin-skinned, controlling, eager to go over their heads and stingy with even basic information. All White Houses try to control the message. But this White House has pledged to be more open than its predecessors – and reporters feel it doesn’t live up to that pledge in several key areas:
• Day-to-day interaction with Obama is almost non-existent, and he talks to the press corps far less often than Bill Clinton or even George W. Bush did. Clinton took questions nearly every weekday, on average. Obama barely does it once a week.
• The ferocity of pushback is intense. A routine press query can draw a string of vitriolic emails. A negative story can draw a profane high-decibel phone call – or worse. Some reporters feel like they’ve been frozen out after crossing the White House.
• Except for a few reporters, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs can be distant and difficult to reach – even though his job is to be one of the main conduits from president to press. “It’s an odd White House where it’s easier to get the White House chief of staff on the phone than the White House press secretary,” one top reporter said.
• And at the very moment many reporters feel shut out, one paper – the New York Times – enjoys a favoritism from Obama and his staff that makes competitors fume, with gift-wrapped scoops and loads of presidential face-time.
When the Goracle speaks, reporters must listen. Or else.
Story Number Two: You’d better be sitting down for this one. Al Gore is angry and says the press gives too much attention to “ridiculous claims” of global warming deniers.
Of course, you can rest assured that AlGore.com will give you a fair and balanced report:
Last week The Wall Street Journal published a ridiculous op-ed titled “Climate Science in Denial” claiming that “global warming alarmists have been discredited, but you wouldn’t know it from the rhetoric this Earth Day.”
Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic does an exceptional job dismantling this ridiculous claim: “Actually, the subhead should be revised: “Global warming denialists have been re-discredited, but you wouldn’t know it from the rhetoric in today’s Wall Street Journal.” Far be it from me, a non-scientist, to dispute the scientific expertise of an MIT professor of meteorology, Richard Lindzen, but then again, Lindzen’s selective recitation of the litany of arguments against global warming practically begs a rebuttal.”
“First, he mentions “Climate Gate” — those e-mails from the Climate Research Unit from the University of East Anglia. He suggests that the e-mails show “unambiguous evidence of the unethical suppression of information and opposing viewpoints, and even data manipulation.””
“The e-mails were actually quite ambiguous and contained evidence of churlishness and defensiveness from scientists whose data had long been under attack from climate denialists.”
Much of the media has done a particularly bad job covering the climate crisis. Instead of informing the public about the facts, they have treated the issue as if the same political divisions they exuberantly cover also exist in the scientific community. They don’t.
Our advice? Ignore both stories. Disagreements between the media and Democrats mean about as much as spats between middle school spats between BFFs.
Barack Obama, who made $5,500,000 in 2009, tells Wall Street, “At a certain point you’ve made enough money.”
We can tell you with complete confidence that President Obama delivered the same harsh message to pals George Soros, Warren Buffett, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Bill Clinton, Al Gore and the rest of his Democrat contributors.
This is, of course, the same Meredith Vieira who got all hot and bothered about a good-looking Navy pilot on her syndicated “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” program. Fun gal, that Meredith.
Why, yes, Meredith. That video game is indeed very realistic.

Fox 5 anchorwoman Rosanna Scotto and the rest of the Good Day New York morning crew were discussing the National Milk Producers Federation’s position a product should only be called “milk” when it comes from an animal, but not when it’s made from vegetable products like soy or rice.
Call this one dumb and dumber. Or maybe weird and weirder.
Fox 5 anchorwoman Rosanna Scotto and the rest of the Good Day New York morning crew were discussing the National Milk Producers Federation’s position a product should only be called “milk” when it comes from an animal, but not when it’s made from vegetable products like soy or rice.
Well, the question was asked, if you can’t call soy milk “milk,” what should you call it?
“Soy jism!” Scotto announced.
The live banter continued, but the look on the face of co-anchor Greg Kelly is priceless.
The world was once (and, undoubtedly, more than once) far warmer than it is today. Far from being a first, the ice has now merely retreated back to where it once was thousands of years ago. And the only thing unprecedented about global warming is the claim that it’s unprecedented.
Oetzi, the Alpine Ice Man, says, "Al Gore is a liar."
When LiveScience.com asks the fascinating question, “Who Froze the Tools?” they were not referring to Al Gore and Michael Mann. Tools though they may be, the ones LiveScience was referring to were Neolithic hunting tools left behind by man in places man was never supposed to have existed.
“Warming temperatures are melting patches of ice that have been in place for thousands of years in the mountains of the Canadian High Arctic and in turn revealing a treasure trove of ancient hunting tools.”
LiveScience.com provides the specifics:
In 1997, sheep hunters discovered a 4,300-year-old dart shaft in caribou dung that had become exposed as the ice receded. . . . [Archaeologist Tom] Andrews and his team (including members of the indigenous Shutaot’ine or Mountain Dene) have found 2,400-year-old spear throwing tools, a 1000-year-old ground squirrel snare, and bows and arrows dating back 850 years.
This is similar to the Neolithic silver mine – complete with tools – that was found not long ago in the Alps as the ice retreated. And what about the infamous Ice Man who was discovered in 1991 after being frozen for thousands of years.
Whether it’s Canada Arctic or the Alps or anywhere else in the world, the fraud of global warming is exposed every time the retreating ice exposes more of these artifacts. For if global warming is, indeed, unprecedented, how could these artifacts possibly be found in areas that have supposedly always been covered with ice?
The only logical answer is that the world was once (and, undoubtedly, more than once) far warmer than it is today. Far from being a first, the ice has now merely retreated back to where it once was thousands of years ago.
And the only thing unprecedented about global warming is the claim that it’s unprecedented.
It doesn’t take a genius to look at the polls and figure out that Harry Reid will soon be the former senator from the great state of Nevada. That’s why opportunists like Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin are already angling for Reid’s job as Senate Majority Leader.

That’s why opportunists like Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin are already angling for Reid’s job as Senate Majority Leader.
As if anticipating the inevitable, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell confessed, “There’s been no funeral yet. The body is still warm. But they do want to each jockey for position.”
These two make Reid seem warm and likeable. Not an easy task to accomplish.
In this video clip, Orszag discusses the immense powers (including the power to determine levels of care and reimbursement) granted to the unelected Independent Payment Advisory board under ObamaCare.
We’re paraphrasing his comments, but can any other conclusion possibly be drawn from his Peter Orszag’s comments?
In this video clip, Orszag discusses the immense powers (including the power to determine levels of care and reimbursement) granted to the unelected Independent Payment Advisory board under ObamaCare.
Orszag also reveals that the word “advisory” is a farce, because the panel can do pretty much anything it wants unless it is specifically voted down by congress and signed by the President.
Please note the one word Orszag doesn’t mention: Doctors.
There’s a reason this guy didn’t want to reveal his college transcripts. “I am working this 24-7, and these past 72 hours I can tell you it quite literally feels 24-7.”

The Ottumwa, Iowa town hall was stacked with Obama supporters, including the guy who’s wearing a T-shirt that says “Community organizer,”
Last week President Obama gave a speech to NASA employees. Except that no NASA employees were actually admitted to the speech. Instead, the hall was packed with carefully selected Obama supporters.
As if to prove that wasn’t just a fluke, Obama traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa Monday to brag about his outstanding economic record.
This town hall was also stacked with Obama supporters, including the guy just over Obama’s right shoulder who’s wearing a T-shirt that says “Community organizer” and an expression that says, “I love you, Barry.”

You’re going to love this commercial as much as liberals hate it when James looks into the camera and says, “This is Alabama. We speak English. If you want to live here, learn it.”
The South shall rise again. And so shall James’ poll numbers.
The Navy just conducted a test that proved two seemingly contradictory concepts. First, it proved that an F-18 can fly using biofuel. And second, it proved that biofuel is an idea that’ll never get off the ground.
The same people who pay $67.50 for biofuel say they can cut medical costs.
The Navy just conducted a test that proved two seemingly contradictory concepts. First, it proved that an F-18 can fly using biofuel. And second, it proved that biofuel is an idea that’ll never get off the ground.
National Review’s Planet Gore makes sense of it all:
I was there when the Green Hornet flew today, and the 50-50 biofuel mix burned superbly. Thanks to the excellent work of our fuel-certification engineers, there was no doubt that it would. They checked it thoroughly for spec and pronounced it functionally equivalent to JP-5. But even though SECNAV maintains that the Navy “will continue to be an early adopter of alternative energy sources,” he might take a closer look at the price tag. The press release says that the Defense Energy Support Center, which buys fuel for the military, paid $2.7 million for 40,000 gallons of the biofuel. That works out to $67.50 a gallon, although the official Navy fact sheet says the cost was only $33 a gallon. Still, next to the $1.40 a gallon cost of petroleum-derived JP-5, it’s not exactly a bargain — worse even than buying gas in Europe. Maybe we can cut back on body armor to pay for it . . .
$67.50 per gallon? Fill ‘er up, dude. Sounds like cap-and-trade has already been implemented in the military.

Tucker Carlson interviewed Ivanka Trump while guest hosting O’Reilly’s show on Fox News. Trump shouldn’t expect to be invited to the White House anytime soon.
Carlson: How do you think this president is doing?
Trump: I’m fearful for my children and their children and just the massive amounts of debt that’s piling up and that somebody will have to reconcile. So, I am very frightened by that. I think that there are some things that were done well but I was not a fan of how the health care reform process was handled and I hope that is not an example of how reform is going to be handled going forward. I’m not overly supportive.
Wouldn’t you love to hear Ivanka’s father say, “Barack, you’re fired!”
If Fox News were smart, they’d hire him as an election analyst on November 6, 2012.

Democrat Senators Tom Harkin and Robert Byrd probably consider this the pinnacle of their long, distinguished careers. Or maybe not.
CNSnews.com reports on the Democrats’ egregious egos:
Harkin and Byrd jointly won the “Narcissist Award” for 2010 – a little-coveted award given to those members of Congress who request taxpayer money to fund projects named after themselves.
Harkin asked for $7,287,000 to continue what he calls the “Harkin Grant” program for renovating Iowa public schools.
Byrd similarly asked that $7 million in taxpayer funds be directed to the Robert C. Byrd Institute of Advanced Flexible Manufacturing Systems, which provides workforce training in technical manufacturing skills.
We have a suggestion for Citizens Against Government Waste. If anyone wins the award two years in a row, it should be renamed in their honor.
During a discussion of Arizona’s controversial new law, a screen crawl on CNN actually said, “Arizona law makes it illegal to be an illegal alien.” Duh.
The image above is completely unretouched and completely unbelievable.
During a discussion of Arizona’s controversial new law, a screen crawl on CNN actually said, “Arizona law makes it illegal to be an illegal alien.”
The article says, “This will be the last column I write about the Arizona Diamondbacks in the foreseeable future. For me, they do not exist. They will continue to not exist in my mind as long as the horribly named ‘Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act’ remains law in Arizona. This law has brought echoes of apartheid to the state.”
The folks at the Huffington Post have taken too many pitches to the head
In the near future sportscasters may run down a players stats like this:
“Ed Shlumpy at bat. He’s hitting .311 this year, bats right, throws right and leans right with a pro-life advocacy rating of 93.0%”
It may sounds strange to you, but not to Huffington Post readers who are used to left wing nonsense like the article entitled “No one is Illegal: Boycott the Arizona Diamondbacks”
It goes on to state that “This is not merely because they happen to be the team from Arizona. The D-backs organization is a primary funder of the state Republican Party, which has been driving the measure through the legislature.”
The article ends by saying “If the owners of the Diamondbacks want to underwrite an ugly edge of bigotry, we should raise our collective sporting fists against them. A boycott is also an expression of solidarity with Diamondback players such as Juan Guitterez, Gerardo Parra, and Rodrigo Lopez. They shouldn’t be put in a position where they’re cheered on the playing field and then asked for their papers when the uniform comes off.”
The same could supposedly be said of Phoenix police officers, 25% of whom are of Hispanic descent. Except that no one cheers them, on duty or off, especially when they – unlike the federal government – actually attempt to enforce the law.
To paraphrase Ernest Thayer, “Mighty Arianna has struck out.”
