Senator Rockefeller thinks President Obama is less than truthful a friggin’ liar

Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia says Barack Obama is not believable to him any more.30

Jay Rockefeller: Proof that all the money in the world can't buy you brains

Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia – that’s Democrat Senator Jay Rockefeller – was speaking in a committee meeting when he made the following comment about President Obama:

“He says ‘I’m for clean coal,’ and then he says it in his speeches, but he doesn’t say it in here. And he doesn’t say it in the minds of my own people. And he’s beginning to not be believable to me.”

Reality slowly begins to sink in.

Iranians announce that they love President Obama.
And that they have weapons grade uranium.

How’s that hope and change working? How’s that smart power working? How’s that “we’ll-talk-to-Iran-with-no-preconditions” working? The Iranians laugh at our President. And who can really blame them?

The Iranians laugh at our President. And who can really blame them?

Say what? Obama calls on MSNBC to give his press conference “balance”

President Obama thought he could add some “balance” to his most recent press conference by calling on MSNBC.

According to a recent poll, FOX News is the most “trusted name in news,” no matter what CNN’s advertising department might say.

Yet somehow the President Obama thought he could add some “balance” to his most recent press conference by calling on MSNBC.

We’re just afraid that Obama’s version of balance means the previous question came from someone so liberal that MSNBC only seemed conservative by comparison.

March ’08: Obama says Iran is no threat.
February ’10: Iran says it has weapons grade uranium.

On March 18, 2008 he actually said Iran was no threat. Someone apparently told him how stupid that sounded, so he made a CYA speech the next day.

Good lord, this president of ours is ignorant. Completely ignorant.

On March 18, 2008 he actually said Iran was no threat. Someone apparently told him how stupid that sounded, so he made a CYA speech the next day.

Obama’s comment sounded stupid then. It sounded just as stupid over the course of the last two years when he said he wanted to engage Iran with no pre-conditions and they blew him off. And it sounds even more stupid now that the Iranian government has announced that it has enriched weapons grade uranimum.

Who the hell voted for this guy?

Newsweek and Time are slowly dying. OK, maybe not all that slowly.

Magazines like Newsweek and Time are dying. And left wing weekly news magazines are dying faster than most. The New York Times, of all places, reports the story.

Perhaps more people would buy Time if they didn't do the same story every week

Alert the death panel. Magazines are dying. And left wing weekly news magazines are dying faster than most.

The New York Times, of all places, reports the story:

Magazines’ newsstand sales plummeted in the last six months of 2009, and subscriptions dropped as well.

Newsstand sales for the 472 consumer titles in the United States measured by the Audit Bureau of Circulations declined 9.1 percent, to 39.3 million, in the last half of 2009 versus the same period a year earlier, the organization reported this morning. That follows an 11.12 percent decline from July through December 2007 compared to July through December 2008.

Some of the well-known titles with dramatic single-copy declines included W, down 41.7 percent to about 25,000 for an average issue; Newsweek, down 41.3 percent to about 62,000 (Newsweek had decreased the number of copies on sale, noted a spokesman) ; SmartMoney, down 37 percent to about 26,000; Time, down 34.9 percent to about 90,000; Good Housekeeping, down 30.7 percent to 395,000; and Redbook, down 30.1 percent to 126,000.

Hilarious. Newsweek says its circulation decreased because they reduced the number of copies on sale. We’re no publishing geniuses, but it seems to us that they may have that sequence of events reversed.

House Democrats stand to applaud themselves for bankrupting the nation

Every one of the 217 votes in favor of marching headlong toward national bankruptcy was cast by a Democrat.

The Obama sticker in the rear window brings up
some deep thoughts

The Obama sticker in the rear window brings up some deep thoughts

  • The driver is obviously a Ted Kennedy fan as well.
  • It’s better to hit the brakes before you’re ass-deep in water and it’s better to freeze spending before your neck-deep in debt.
  • If you think about it, rust is a type of change.
  • Don’t try to drive while texting or holding Bo the Portuguese water dog in your lap.
  • When you’re on the precipice of an achievement, apply the brakes sooner.
  • Before criticizing Scott Brown for having a pickup, learn how to drive one.
  • Hope doesn’t float.
  • Liberals should never try to drive pickup trucks. (Or tanks. See Dukakis, Michael)
  • The unfortunate consequence of the audacity of hope running headlong into the bravado of stupidity.
  • Some people just can’t tell when they’re in over their head.
  • When drowning in debt, it’s best to stop spending.
  • More bailing out is pointless now.
  • Up debt creek without a paddle.

We are the change we’ve been waiting for. Hope we brought change for the bus.

Ego-bama praises campaign worker who wanted to be buried in an Obama T-shirt

Oh, my, Obama. The Narcissist-in-Chief spoke at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser the other night and told the tragic tale of a campaign worker who died from breast cancer.

Oh, my, Obama. The Narcissist-in-Chief spoke at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser the other night and told the tragic tale of a campaign worker who died from breast cancer:

I got a letter — I got a note today from one of my staff — they forwarded it to me — from a woman in St. Louis who had been part of our campaign, very active, who had passed away from breast cancer. She didn’t have insurance. She couldn’t afford it, so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed. And she had fought a tough battle for four years. All through the campaign she was fighting it, but finally she succumbed to it. And she insisted she’s going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt.

A touching story made all the more touching by the fact that Obama uses the woman’s death to praise his own inspirational leadership. It’s that kind of nervous, awkward laughter that comes from an audience that isn’t quite sure what kind of response is appropriate.

To see the comment, go straight to the 8:25 mark of the embedded video. Notice that the crowd reacts to the story by laughing despite the fact that Obama seems completely serious.

We’re not even sure we buy the story. Who was the woman? What was her name? What was her story? Tell us about her. The World’s Greatest Orator should know that stories are much more effective when they’re personalized with authentic details.

As it was told, Obama’s story sounds about as convincing as Joe Biden’s attempt to review Avatar.

Bottom line: The campaign worker should consider herself lucky. She died and got buried in a T-shirt. The rest of us lived and get buried in debt.

Overall, we’d have to say she wins.

He’s baaaaack: Couric to interview Obama
before Super Bowl

What could be worse than President Obama showing up on television on Super Bowl Sunday? How about President Obama being interviewed by Katie Couric right before the game.

Hope he's better at passing a football than he is at passing legislation

What could be worse than President Obama showing up on television on Super Bowl Sunday? How about President Obama being interviewed by Katie Couric right before the game.

Bingo. The Orlando Sentinel has the details down on the 50-yard line:

Super Bowl Sunday will be a busy one for CBS anchor Katie Couric, but she will be far from the game.

“I’m very excited about going to the Super Bowl,” said Couric, who will anchor the “CBS Evening News” Friday from Miami. “I wish I could stay. I have an appointment with the president. That’s a good excuse.”

Before the game, Couric will conduct a live, 12-minute interview with President Barack Obama at the White House. She also offers an interview with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Couric said on Wednesday she was still formulating her questions for Obama but had solicited queries via Twitter, Facebook and local stations.

“I want it to be a good, substantive interview, but it’s the Super Bowl audience,” Couric said. “I want it to have the appropriate tone.”

There’s no escaping this guy. Don’t even try. If you turn off your TV he’ll just show up at your doorstep at dinner time, sit in your favorite chair, help himself to your macaroni and cheese, and talk your ear off.

Funny that a guy who graduated from Harvard doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “overexposed.”

Barbara Boxer working hard to prove to California voters that she’s just as stupid as people say

Barbara “Dumb As A Box of Rocks” Boxer actually stood up before the television cameras and asked the following question:…For community banks to lend, can you do that by executive order, because my understanding is that you can use some of the TARP funds that were paid back or use those funds that have not been used. Can you use that to get this going by executive order or do you need us to put that program into a jobs bill.

Barbara “Dumb As A Box of Rocks” Boxer actually stood up before the television cameras and asked the following question:

“I want to ask you about small business. We all know they’re the job creators. 64% of new jobs over the last 15 years came from small business. Your new proposal, which does mirror a couple of people…I look at a …Senator Merkley, I know, Senator Warner and others, we’ve worked hard on this. For community banks to lend, can you do that by executive order, because my understanding is that you can use some of the TARP funds that were paid back or use those funds that have not been used. Can you use that to get this going by executive order or do you need us to put that program into a jobs bill. And second are you using your influence as much as you can to get the big banks to lend? They’ve dropped lending by $12 billion over the last year. So I wonder if you can give us an update on that?”

Translation: Where do I sign up to abdicate my constitutionally-mandated powers to the executive branch.

What are the odds that California voters will do the right thing in November?

Mayor warns Obama to stay away from Las Vegas

President Obama stuck his foot deeply in his mouth when he criticized Las Vegas for a second time this year. Colorful Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman did not take kindly to the President’s remarks.

President Obama stuck his foot deeply in his mouth when he criticized Las Vegas for a second time this year.

“You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage,” he said at a New Hampshire town hall. “You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you’re trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices. And it’s time your government did the same.”

Colorful Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman did not take kindly to the President’s remarks.

“I guess you’ve all seen the president’s remarks or read about the president’s remarks. Well, I’ve got some remarks of my own. I was back in Washington, D.C. about two weeks ago, going up and down the halls of the capitol telling people about our economy here, trying to get them to be sympathetic to what we’re trying to accomplish, then I have to read what President Obama said.

“He has a real psychological hang up about the entertainment capitol of the world. An apology won’t be acceptable this time, I don’t know where his vendetta comes from but we’re not going to let him make his bones by lambasting Las Vegas, that’s why (the press) is here today.

“He didn’t learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn’t think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there.

“I gotta tell you this, everybody says I shouldn’t say it, but I gotta tell you the way it is. This president is a real slow learner.”

Or in the words of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, the President is a f@cking retard.

How President Obama can fatten up his approval ratings

It comes as no shocker that most Americans aren’t happy with President Obama, but new scientific findings might reveal why that is. He’s too skinny.

Love handles will make the American people love you, Mr. President

It comes as no shocker that most Americans aren’t happy with President Obama, but new scientific findings might reveal why that is.

The Telegraph UK reports that “Overweight male politicians are more popular.”

Voters believed that overweight male candidates were more reliable, honest, dependable and inspiring than their thinner counterparts.

If you’re listening, Mr. President, maybe a little less b-ball and a little more fast food are in order. Maybe more trips to the ice cream parlor with the girls. And more burgers with Biden at lunch. Adding a few more pounds might add a few more points to your approval ratings.

We think this survey is one of the most important ones we’ve ever read. Because it finally explains why the people of Massachusetts kept sending Teddy Kennedy and Barney Frank back to the Senate and the House year after year.

AP grapples with Obama’s slide from omnipotence to impotence

Even President Obama should be able to read the writing on the teleprompter

The media’s job is to figure out how to get more Democrats elected.

That’s the way the Associated Press seems to see it and a recent hand-wringing editorial from AP shows liberal news sources have been betrayed by the Obama administration.

Never in the post-racial, post-Viagra political landscape has a media action figure fallen so sharply and so quickly. AP now fears that Obama’s magic has worn off.

The list of White House failures is growing: It hasn’t galvanized the legions of 2008 Obama backers in three major statewide losses. It hasn’t prevented primary challenges for at least two vulnerable Senate Democrats even though Obama endorsed them. And it hasn’t recruited strong candidates for Senate seats once held by Vice President Joe Biden and the president himself.

AP can’t blame themselves. They and other journalists created the biggest, coolest honeymoon that a president has ever had. In their rush to get Obama elected, they forgot to ask the tough questions, like how Obama would deliver on his campaign promises. They swept concerns under the rug and lied when that didn’t work.

When high expectations and Obama’s own low qualifications smashed head long into political reality, the media has come to the conclusion that they created a monster that even they can not keep propped up.

And their agenda hangs in the balance.

President Obama might want to think about rethinking his whole terrorist trial concept

Here’s why terrorists – including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed – need to be tried by military tribunals instead of civilian courts.

Here’s why terrorists – including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed – need to be tried by military tribunals instead of civilian courts.

U.S. District Judge John C. Coughenour spoke at a recent meeting of the Open Society Institute that was hosted by George Soros. (That sentence alone should tell you that trouble is coming.) Coughenour makes it clear that people with his philosophy are the reason civilian trials won’t work.

Coughenour: Another set of rules – consistent with our Constitution? It’s kind of hard for me to conceive what those rules would be. If people had problems with the way they gathered evidence…if they gathered evidence through harsh interrogation techniques…you know it may be that there will be some people that can’t be convicted because of the way we conducted ourselves. So be it. The world isn’t at a loss for dangerous people, and the fact that we are unable to convict one or more of these folks, it’s part of the price we pay for being the country we are. And we either live up to our responsibilities as being a leader in human rights, and commitment to our Constitution, or we shouldn’t profess to be what we say we are.

Nice work, Attorney General Holder. Really nice work.

We knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of ours. You’re no Jack Kennedy, Mr. President.

It’s bad enough when Michelle Obama is compared to Jackie Kennedy. And based on the two clips below, it’s obvious that Barack Obama should be contrasted to John F. Kennedy, not compared to him.

President Obama revealed his first budget yesterday and two issues clearly differentiate the two Democrat presidents – returning to the moon and taxes. On one hand, Kennedy inspired us to do the impossible and cut taxes. On the other hand, Barack Obama kills the dream of manned space travel and revels in the imposition of a wide range of new taxes .

This ain’t no Camelot.

CNN research shows independents hate mere mention of “hope” and “healthcare”

CNN focus group results show pretty conclusively that the mere mention of the word “hope” triggered an immediate negative response from Republicans and independents. And Obama’s discussion of “health care” caused independents to turn on the him like cornered wolverines.

Fascinating research from CNN that should scare the hell out of President Obama and his team.

The also-ran news network conducted a focus group during the State of the Union Address. They hooked participants up to devices that allowed them to register their reactions in real time to everything the President said.
