Hell freezes over! SEIU members campaign for Scott Brown!

While the SEIU leadership is working overtime to help Democrat Martha Coakley win the Massachusetts Senate seat, its members are out on the street rallying for Republican Scott Brown.

Looks like the leadership of SIEU is, shall we say, out of step with its rank-and-file members.

Union leaders and union members going in opposite directions? Seems more than vaguely reminiscent of the Reagan revolution.

Olbermann wants to know why Scott Brown’s nude Cosmo centerfold hasn’t become a political liability

Left wing lunatic Keith Olbermann looks at Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown’s nude centerfold in Cosmo and wonders why it hasn’t become an overwhelming political negative for the candidate.

And this, friends, underscores the fact that there truly is a huge philosophical difference between MSNBC hosts Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.

Click to enlarge. The photo, that is.

What’s the difference?

Left wing lunatic Keith Olbermann looks at Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown’s nude centerfold in Cosmo and wonders why it hasn’t become an overwhelming political negative for the candidate. But left wing lunatic Chris Matthews looks at the same centerfold and quietly wonders why he’s getting another one of those thrills up his leg.

See, there really are differences between the two.

Good news! 2010 census may give conservatives a boost

In the final pre-count estimate just released by the Census Bureau, we already have a broad idea of where the results are headed and what they will mean politically. The numbers are cause for alarm for Democrats.

Attention: 2010 Census Crossing Ahead

The Democrats are counting on their friends at ACORN to “help out” with the 2010 census. And if this analysis is correct, they need all the help they can get.

The Washington Times reports the depressing details for Democrats:

… in the final pre-count estimate just released by the Census Bureau, we already have a broad idea of where the results are headed and what they will mean politically.
The numbers are cause for alarm for Democrats.

Of the states gaining House seats — Texas (three) and Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, South Carolina, Utah and Washington — only Washington is reliably Democratic, having last voted for a Republican presidential candidate in 1984.

Of the states losing seats and electors — Ohio (two), Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania — only Louisiana is reliably Republican. And the fact that there are 170,000 fewer residents of New Orleans than before Hurricane Katrina has made the state even more reliably red.

But the real shocker is California. After a consistently large gains in the second half of the 20th century, California is on track for only 9 percent growth in the first decade of the 21st. Compare that to 14 percent growth in the ’90s, 26 percent growth in the ’80s, 19 percent in the ’70s and 27 percent in the ’60s.

9% growth in California? Build a wall on the Mexican border and the population won’t increase at all. Of course, you’d also have to build a wall along the Nevada border to retain the legal residents.

Another reason for House democrats to be nervous in 2010

Tennessee Democrat Bart Gordon had $1.2 million in cash-on-hand in his last FEC filing. His Republican challengers? Only one of them had any cash on hand at that filing and that was a mere $13,731.

The blue dogs are running, but not for election

But the latest one to announce his retirement should give all Democrats reason to worry about the 2010 elections.

When an incumbent Democrat with a big pile of cash on hand decides that its time to retire, it must send a shiver down the spines of other Democrats.

Mustn’t it?

(Yeah, we know that wasn’t our cleverest closing line, but we’ve never used the word “mustn’t” before and this seemed like a good time to do it.)

Hondurans provide preview of 2010 American elections: Leftist thug out, conservative in

Despite the fact that Barack Obama and the region’s leftist dictators supported legally ousted former President Manuel Zelaya, it was expected that the conservative candidate would handily win the election.

Muy bien, compadres! Honduran voters lined up to vote for the conservative candidate.
Muy bien, compadres! Honduran voters lined up to vote for the conservative candidate.

Honduras held its long awaited presidential vote on Sunday. It’s estimated that an amazing 70% of eligible voters may have turned out.

Despite the fact that Barack Obama and the region’s leftist dictators supported legally ousted former President Manuel Zelaya, the conservative candidate handily won the election.

Here’s how the Wall Street Journal reports the story:

Neither of the two men claiming to be president during the past five months – Mr. Zelaya and interim President Roberto Micheletti – were on the ballot.

Instead, Hondurans picked between Mr. Lobo of the conservative National Party and Elvin Santos of the Liberal Party – to which both Mr. Zelaya and Mr. Micheletti belong.

Voters were expected to punish the Liberal Party for the crisis and hand power to Mr. Lobo, who was narrowly beat by Mr. Zelaya four years ago.

“It’s going to be Pepe this time,” said Higenio Garcia Ponce, 74, an agricultural laborer who said he had just voted for Mr. Lobo. “There was a rupture in the Liberal Party over what happened with Zelaya.”

We love the words “Voters were expected to punish the liberal party” and predict that they will be repeated here in 2010. And if we’re all lucky, again in 2012.

Opponent uses X-Files footage to make Harry Reid an ex-senator

Danny Tarkanian, a Republican who wants to unseat Harry Reid in Nevada, used old X-Files footage to make fun of Harry Reid and “the missing congressional districts.”

Feuding Republicans: The Hatfield and McCoys
are at it again

Yup, those redneck Republicans are at it again. After 8 years of peaceful coexistence, the conservative and liberal wings of the GOP are cleaning their guns and pointing them at each other.

The Hatfield clan at either a family reunion a Second Amendment rally

Yup, those redneck Republicans are at it again. After 8 years of peaceful coexistence, the conservative and liberal wings of the GOP are cleaning their guns and pointing them at each other.

At least that’s what the liberal media would have you believe as evidenced by the New York Times report:

“Republicans emerged from Tuesday’s elections energized by victories in Virginia and New Jersey, but their leaders immediately began maneuvering to avoid a prolonged battle with conservative activists over what the party stands for and how to regain power.

Yet throughout the day after, Wednesday, Republicans grappled with the disappointing outcome of a special election for what had been a reliably Republican House seat in upstate New York. That contest became a battleground between the party establishment and a conservative insurgency demanding more ideological purity from candidates.”

Just keep one thing in mind when you read these stories from the biased liberal media:

The same people who said Iraq was in the middle of a civil war last year are saying the Republican Party is in the middle of a civil war this year. In Las Vegas, this is what’s known as doubling down when you’re holding six.

Our money is on the “conservative insurgency.”

Hmmmmm. Did ACORN steal the election for Al Franken?

Shame on us. We’ve been thinking that the election of Al Franken proved that the people of Minnesota need massive psychiatric intervention. But maybe not if the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is to be believed.

Senator Al Franken (D-ACORN)
Senator Al Franken (D-ACORN)

Shame on us. We’ve been thinking that the election of Al Franken proved that the people of Minnesota need massive psychiatric intervention. But maybe not if the Minneapolis Star-Tribune is to be believed:

…ACORN does have a special place in its heart for at least one prominent Minnesota politician. Last year, it showered praise on Al Franken, endorsing his run for the U.S. Senate. Franken returned the esteem: “I’m thrilled and honored to receive this endorsement,” he gushed in a press release. He added that he was “more motivated than ever to work with ACORN.”

Fact is, ACORN may deserve the credit and the blame for Franken’s election. The scandal-plagued group claims it registered 75% of Minnesota’s 43,000 new voters. Since Franken’s margin of victory was a mere 312 votes, it seems reasonable to assume that ACORN’s dubious new voters were enough to swing the election in the Democrat’s direction.

Of course, Minnesota’s Democrat Secretary of State Mark Ritchie scoffs at that assertion and says there’s nothing to worry about because Minnesota’s voter verification system guarantees the integrity of the election. But you have to take that with a grain of salt because ACORN also endorsed Ritchie and helped get him elected.

Ritchie’s probably more motivated than ever to work with ACORN, too.

Top 5 possible successors to Teddy Kennedy

The burning question in Massachusetts today is, “Who will fill Teddy Kennedy’s seat in the U.S. Senate? What the hell. If the rest of the media can speculate on possible successors to Teddy Kennedy’s seat in the United States Senate, we might as well pitch in our two cents.

The burning question in Massachusetts today is, “Who will fill Teddy Kennedy’s seat in the U.S. Senate now that Joseph P. Kennedy II has opted out of the coronation that could have (some would say ‘should have’) been his?”

What the hell. If the rest of the media can speculate on possible successors to Teddy Kennedy’s seat in the United States Senate, we might as well pitch in our two cents.

Our choices make just as much sense as some others we’ve read (such as New York resident Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, or alcoholic Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy, neither of whom are eligible because they don’t live in Massachusetts, for god’s sake).

Listen up, old media. We can speculate just as wildly as you can. Here are our five top choices.

Candidate #1 – Foster Brooks. Sure, he’s been dead for 8 years, but it clear that he follows in the Kennedy tradition and the transition would be seamless.

Candidate #2. Michael Phelps. Who better than a 14-time Olympic gold medal winner to assume Kennedy’s nickname “The Swimmer”?

Proof that John McCain still doesn’t know why he lost the election

This video provides proof that John McCain still doesn’t know why he lost the election. Here he is pandering to the left again. Pandering, senile old coot.

“Consarn you gol’ dang kids. Stop makin’ so much noise or I’ll take you all out behind the woodshed and tan your hides.”

Pandering, senile old coot.

Yellow-bellied Nevada grouser added to endangered species list

Looks like cowardly Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader who was so quick to declare that we’d lost in Iraq, may soon need to declare another defeat – his own.

Looks like cowardly Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader who was so quick to declare that we’d lost in Iraq, may soon need to declare another defeat – his own.

Here’s how the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the results of its latest poll:

It’s the highest stakes ever for a Nevada election, and former boxer Sen. Harry Reid is on the ropes early. Either Republican Danny Tarkanian or Sue Lowden would knock out Reid in a general election, according to a recent poll of Nevada voters.

The results suggest the Democratic Senate majority leader will have to punch hard and often in order to retain his position as the most accomplished politician in state history, in terms of job status.

Nevadans favored Tarkanian over Reid 49 percent to 38 percent and Lowden over Reid 45 percent to 40 percent, according to the poll.

Reid’s status makes him an icon of the Democratic Party and ties him to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and President Barack Obama, both of whom are losing ground among centrist and right-leaning voters in the country.

Looks like it won’t be long before Harry can return to his beloved Nevada and his even more beloved crooked real estate deals.

Hillary tells Nigerian audience that 2000 presidential election was rigged by Jeb Bush

Hillary Clinton has compared the Florida recount in our 2000 presidential election to the massive election fraud that runs rampant in Nigerian politics.

It’s been quite an African trip for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. First she erupted in anger when asked what her husband’s opinion on some issue (we don’t really remember what it was and don’t really care because it was so damn much fun to watch).

Now she’s upped the ante by comparing the Florida recount in our 2000 presidential election to the massive election fraud that runs rampant in Nigerian politics.

“In 2000, our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of the man running for President was the governor of the state,” she said. “So we have our problems too.”

Let’ just set that absurd comment aside and get to the important issues:

What’s with Hillary frantically rubbing her chest as she answers the question? Our guess is that a body language expert would say it was one of those nervous mannerisms that come out when someone is getting ready to lie.

Finally, we just want to hear the CNN babe pronounce the president of Nigeria’s name again.

It was kind of hot.

European left loses again: Bulgaria’s conservatives win by wide margin

Bulgaria’s right-wing opposition party has swept Sunday’s vote by a wide margin over the corrupt Socialist coalition.

Boris Borisov conservative wins Bulgaria Election
Boris Borisov, the new leader of Bulgaria, was once a bodyguard. He was never a community organizer.

The official results are now in and Bulgaria’s right-wing opposition party has swept Sunday’s vote by a wide margin over the corrupt Socialist coalition.

Despite their cumbersome name, the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria Party – led by Sofia Mayor Boiko Borisov – walked away with 39.7% of the vote.

The Socialists finished a distant second with just 17.7% of the vote. The Turkish MRF party took 14.5%. The ultra-nationalist Attack Party had 9.4% and the right-wing Blue Coalition had 6.7%.

“This is a serious victory for the right-wing parties,” said a spokesman for the Blue Coalition. “It is the big comeback of the rightist parties and a considerable punishing vote for the incumbent coalition.”

Europe is racing to the right. Obama is racing to the left. Somebody’s way off course and we’re pretty sure we know who it is.

News Update: Jimmy Carter is still an idiot

The former President had this to say about Mahmoud Achmadinejad and the “election” in Iran: “I think this election has bought out a lot of opposition to his policies in Iran, and I’m sure he’ll listen to those opinions and hopefully moderate his position.”

If you’re going to fly around the world observing elections, shouldn’t you be a little more observant? Here’s a video that shows you exactly how Mahmoud is listening to his people – with nightsticks.

NY Times buries story that could have buried Obama

The New York Times is making headlines for ignoring news that could have damaged Barack Obama, who as you may have noticed, is a Democrat.

According to the Bulletin, “A lawyer involved with legal action against Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) told a House Judiciary subcommittee on March 19 The New York Times had killed a story in October that would have shown a close link between ACORN, Project Vote and the Obama campaign because it would have been a ‘a game changer.’”

An informant had been providing inside information to The Unofficial Democratic Mouthpiece about ACORN’s election activities and several stories had been written. The articles abruptly stopped when it was revealed that the Obama presidential campaign had sent its maxed-out donor list to ACORN’s Washington, D.C. office as a way to “reach out to the maxed-out donors and solicit donations from them for Get Out the Vote efforts to be run by ACORN.”

In what may have been a rare moment of candor, The Times reporter actually told the informant that editors wanted to kill the story because “it was a game changer.”’

Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.) said the footsie-playing between Obama and ACORN could be a violation of federal election law.

The Times’ Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications, Catherine Mathis, stated in an email, “political considerations played no role in our decisions about how to cover this story or any other story about President Obama.”

Take that for what it’s worth. After all, it comes from the New York Times.
