Two months in office and President Obama has already wiped out terrorism. Who knew it would be this easy?

You see, the President’s Homeland Security Secretary thinks the word terrorism isn’t very nice, that it represents those darned old-fashioned “politics of fear.” So she wiped out terrorism with a stroke of her pen…or her tongue.

Don’t get us wrong. Janet Napolitano didn’t do anything that will save any lives or make us any safer or stop any of the bad guys. She just eliminated it from her vocabulary and renamed it a “man-caused disaster.”

Here’s what she told the German magazine Der Spiegel:

Der Spiegel: Madame Secretary, in your first testimony to the US Congress as Homeland Security Secretary you never mentioned the word “terrorism.” Does Islamist terrorism suddenly no longer pose a threat to your country?

Napolitano: Of course it does. I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word “terrorism,” I referred to “man-caused” disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.

Seriously. So from now on, it’s not terrorism. It’s a man-caused disaster. So we assume they’re not terrorists anymore, either, but man-caused disaster makers…or doers…causers…or whatever.

Somebody out there help us here. Is this more of that change we can believe in?

I think thats rather sexist personally. What, women cannot cause disasters? What would you call some of the legistlation Hillary has suggested to fix health care or social security.

LIberals…they cant go 5 minutes without exposing their own bias.

Sounds like as recipe for taking the eye off the ball

Thank you chuck, I see the art of doublespeak is alive and well.

It doesnt matter what you call it per se. What does matter is that raging islamofascits figure that if a culture cannot bring itself to call terrorism what it is, they are are not prepared to combat it.

Obama is just demonstrating his weakness and hesitancy towards fighting those what plan daily on ways to kill us.

chuck, you sit down and stay out of the way, there are real men with guns and a full intent on using them to insure that the rest of us can sleep peacefully at night. We dont need double speaking whiners getting in their way.

Doug, I am not sure how to take your comment. The point I was trying to make is that the Obama administration appears to be taking the threat of terrorism too lightly and will therefore take their eye off the ball. In other words ignore the threat altogether.

Woops, I didnt see your last line. The first two sound like you are justifying the name change in favor of avoiding being too specific, when in reality he is changing the name to soften the American stance on terrorism as a means of currying favor from the islamofascits.

Sorry about that, I need to spend a few more milliseconds reading a comment before posting my own.

Doug, no worries. I didn’t mind the whiney part, my wife says that all of the time. I was concerned with being called a liberal. That hurts. See you around. :-)

So, I guess that means the economic stimulus package is a man-made disaster.

come to think of it….Bailouts and bonuses are man-made disasters

Why, even Obama is a man made disaster…

Wow! all you have to do is rename it and suddenly there are terrorists everywhere. What a change!
