About one dozen families who recently immigrated to Canada are demanding that the Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg excuse their children from music and coed physical education programs for religious reasons.
We’re pretty sure the Royal Canadian Mounted Thought Police have already been notified, so Professor Mahfooz Kanwar should be prepared for their arrival.
The Calgary Herald has the details:

About one dozen families who recently immigrated to Canada are demanding that the Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg excuse their children from music and coed physical education programs for religious reasons.
The families believe that music is un-Islamic — just like the Taliban believe and then imposed on the entire population of Afghanistan — and that physical education classes should be segregated by gender even in the elementary years…
In any event, the school district is trying to find a way to adapt the curriculum to fit the wishes of these families, rather than these families adapting to fit into the school and Canadian culture.
Mahfooz Kanwar, a member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, says he has some better ideas.
“I’d tell them, this is Canada, and in Canada, we teach music and physical education in our schools. If you don’t like it, leave. If you want to live under sharia law, go back to the hellhole country you came from or go to another hellhole country that lives under sharia law,” said Kanwar, who is a professor emeritus of sociology at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
Print the bumper stickers now:
“Yes we Kanwar.”

Time magazine has yet written another article on the tres fashionable Michelle Obama. This one’s written by Kate Betts, who has, coincidentally, written a new book called Everyday Icon: Michelle Obama and the Power of Style.
Aaaarrrrrggggghhh! That’s the sound Howard Dean made when he lost the Iowa caucus and the sound we make every time we see Michelle Obama referred to as a fashion icon.
Last week’s Time magazine squeezed that horrid noise out of us again by publishing yet another article on the tres fashionable Michelle Obama. This one’s written by Kate Betts, who has, coincidentally, written a new book called Everyday Icon: Michelle Obama and the Power of Style.

Given her widespread reputation as one of the most stylish women ever to inhabit the White House, you might think Michelle Obama automatically belongs in the Madison-Kennedy lineage. But her background argues differently. No one can claim that Michelle Obama doesn’t know what it’s like to work or that she entered marriage because she didn’t get an education and lacked economic power of her own. It is plain that she has learned as much if not more from the example of Hillary Clinton as from the example of Jackie Kennedy.
What makes Obama exceptional is that she seems so at home in both camps. So at home that the whole debate about style and substance suddenly seems passé, an anachronism of the gender wars, a false dichotomy enforced by narrow-minded men and women at war with themselves. That Michelle Obama does not see style and substance as an either-or choice is a powerful statement that the underlying assumptions about women’s roles and images have changed. Embodying the confluence of substance and style, she has helped reconcile the long-standing antagonism between them. She has, in some sense, made them one and the same.
C’mon, Kate, any impartial observer would have to admit that Michelle Obama’s fashion sense is more akin to Teddy Kennedy’s than Jackie Kennedy’s.
We’ve looked through thousands of photos of Jackie Kennedy and we cannot find one – not one – in which she looks less stylish than Michelle Obama does in any of these photos.
We’ve chronicled the First Lady’s faux pas before, but Time and Kate force us to present this additional evidence.

Sheila Jackson Lee is on the warpath. She’s not pissed off about any issues she should be pissed off about. No, she’s pissed off about one of Pepsi’s Super Bowl commercials.
Sheila Jackson Lee is on the warpath. She’s not pissed off about the deficit nor about our national bumbling during the Egyptian crisis nor about our porous border nor about any of the other issues she should be pissed off about. No, she’s pissed off about one of Pepsi’s Super Bowl commercials.
In fact, she’s so pissed that she took to the floor of the Unites States House of Representatives to excoriate Pepsi.

It’s a commercial, Sheila. It’s a commercial for fizzy sugar water. It has nothing to do with selling good nutrition. That commercial would star Michelle Obama.
Of course, as we always feel obligated to point out in every Sheila Jackson Lee story, this is the woman who once asked a NASA administrator if a Mars rover would be able to take a photo of the American flag that Neil Armstrong planted.
Genius. Pure, unadultered genius.
By the way, here’s the Pepsi commercial that has Jackson Lee’s panties in a wad.
(God, that’s a horrible image. We apologize.)

We picked up a copy of the Cal Poly’s school newspaper, The Daily Mustang, at newspaper rack the other day and got a lesson in how our tax dollars are being spent. You won’t like it.
California Polytechnic University, more affectionately known as Cal Poly, is located here in lovely San Luis Obispo, California, intergalactic headquarters of IHateTheMedia.com.
We picked up a copy of the school newspaper, The Daily Mustang The Mustang Daily, at newspaper rack the other day and got a lesson in how our tax dollars are being spent.

A special Valentine’s Day article was headlined “Blow his mind with a classic blowjob.”
The story noted that the writer “Caitlyn Harkins is an English sophomore, Mustang Daily copy editor and sex columnist.” Some of Harkins’ other masterpieces include “A look at nature’s Rubik’s Cube: the clitoris,” “For your viewing pleasure: a closer look at porn” and “Spice up your vocabulary with dirty talk.’
We’re pretty sure that Catilyn’s column makes her a very popular girl and that she rarely spends a Friday night home alone. But we’re far less confident that California taxpayers would consider a hardcore sex advice column in a college newspaper to be a reasonable use of their hard earned-money. Is this really the kind of journalism training we expect from a major university?
That being said, IHateTheMedia.com does have an internship available, Caitlyn.

We have the the f-word. The n-word. The c-word. The b-word. The s-word. And now the former Speaker of the House has introduced a new unspeakable word: the h-word. We’re running out of friggin’ alphabet here, folks.

The Examiner Vancouver reports the latest in Democrat censorship:
Fired former Speaker of the House and current Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, is going on record as saying that she wants to use censorship to ban one, particular word that she does not like. The word? “Hate.”
To hear Pelosi tell it, she really hates it when other Americans use the word “hate” in a political context. Pelosi’s overreaction is in response to the Bill O’Reilly Superbowl interview with Barack Obama, in which the host asked the president about the number of people who hate him.
Pelosi’s reply to the O’Reilly question was swift and confident: Simply stop using the word, and everything will be fine.
Sorry, Nancy, but we take this one personally. We’re kind of partial to our name. Oh, sure, in the spirit of compromise we’ve gone through the thesaurus, but nothing else works quite as well as the word “hate.” And IH-wordTheMedia.com just doesn’t seem very catchy to us.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has figured it out. And he pulls no punches in this speech to an international security conference in Munich. British Muslims, he said, must adopt mainstream Western values of freedom and equality. He also declared that the concept of multiculturalism has failed and must be abandoned.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4yZgkglFfM
“We won’t defeat terrorism simply by the actions we take outside our borders. Europe needs to wake up to what is happening in our own countries,” Cameron told the conference.
In an attack on Britain’s previous government, Cameron said authorities there had been too hesitant to intervene when some sectors of society espoused abhorrent views.
… “We have even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run counter to our values,” Cameron said. “We have encouraged different cultures to live separate lives, apart from each other and the mainstream.”
Cameron’s not alone. German Chancellor Angela Merkel recently took the same position:

Germany’s attempt to create a multicultural society has “utterly failed,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday, adding fuel to a debate over immigration and Islam polarising her conservative camp.
Speaking to a meeting of young members of her Christian Democrats (CDU), Merkel said allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to live side by side without integrating had not worked in a country that is home to some four million Muslims.
“This (multicultural) approach has failed, utterly failed,” Merkel told the meeting in Potsdam, south of Berlin.
In the land Down Under, the Australian government seems to have come to the same conclusion according to the government’s white paper on counter-terrorism:
“A … shift apparent since 2004 has been the increase in the terrorist threat from people born or raised in Australia, who have become influenced by the violent jihadist message,” it warns. “A number of Australians are known to subscribe to this message, some of whom might be prepared to engage in violence. Many of these individuals were born in Australia and they come from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds …”
”The scale of the problem will continue to depend on factors such as the size and make-up of local Muslim populations, including their ethnic and/or migrant origins, their geographical distribution and the success or otherwise of their integration into their host society.”
Great Britain, Germany and Australia get it. Still waiting to see how long it takes for France, Canada and the United States to get it.
January 20, 2013 at the earliest would be our guess.

Believe it or not, MSNBC’s leading Obama sycophant appeared on Morning Joe to harshly criticize the way President Obama has handled the Egyptian crisis.
That thrill up Chris Matthews’ leg has turned into a lump in the back of his pants.
Believe it or not, MSNBC’s leading Obama sycophant appeared on Morning Joe to harshly criticize the way President Obama has handled the Egyptian crisis.
Matthews said Obama’s words and actions have made him “ashamed as an American.” He reamed the President for his disloyalty to Egypt’s leader, Hosni Mubarak.
“Barack Obama,” Matthews said, “as much I support him in many ways, there is a transitional quality to the guy that is chilling.”
“I believe in relationships…” he continued. “You treat your friends a certain way. You’re loyal to them.”
Don’t read too much into this, because Matthews is like an abused wife who has her husband arrested and then drives down to the jail to bail him out. By this time next week he’ll once again be telling us he loves Obama.
UK leaders have decided that what its school children really need is a celebration of the gay community in math, geography and science courses.
Things haven’t gone so well in the United Kingdom for the last hundred years or so. So the nation’s leaders have decided that what its school children really need is a celebration of the gay community in math, geography and science courses.
Yes. Gay math. Gay geography. And gay science.

The Telegraph UK has the bizarre details:
The initiative will be officially launched next month at the start of “LGBT History Month” — an initiative to encourage teaching about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual issues.
The lesson plans, spread across the curriculum, will be offered to all schools, which can choose whether or not to make use of them.
But critics last night called the initiative a poor use of public money which could distract from the teaching of “core” subjects.
Among the suggestions are:
Maths — teaching statistics through census findings about the number of homosexuals in the population, and using gay characters in scenarios for maths problems;
Can’t wait to hear how they explain that gays can’t multiply.
Design and technology — encouraging pupils to make symbols linked to the gay rights movement;
Like a giant limp wrist unfurling a rainbow flag. But be careful when spelling flag, kiddos.
Science – studying animal species where the male takes a leading role in raising young, such as emperor penguins and sea horses, and staging class discussions on different family structures, including same-sex parents;
And unicorns. Don’t forget the unicorns. They’re, like, the gayest animals ever.
Geography — examining the transformation of San Francisco’s Castro district in the 1960s from a working-class Irish area to the world’s first “gay neighbourhood”, and considering why homosexuals move from the countryside to cities;
While you’re at it, examine what an Indian was doing in the Village People.
Languages — using gay characters in role play scenarios, and teaching “LGBT vocabulary”
Role-playing gays. Now how could this go awry?
While this is definitely an outstanding addition to school curriculum, we can’t wait to see what happens when the United Kingdom’s celebration of the gay community in math, geography and science runs headlong into the United Kingdom’s celebration of the Muslim community in math, geography and science courses.
This should be interesting.

Clever devils, those socialists. They’ve devised a devious plan to create progressive driving rates, whereby the rich will be required to pay more per mile of driving than the poor.
Clever devils, those socialists. They’ve devised a devious plan to create progressive driving rates, whereby the rich will be required to pay more per mile of driving than the poor.
How, you may ask, is that possible? How can that be accomplished when gas pumps don’t know your income? Simple. By migrating gas-powered drivers to electric cars.

Consider, for example, the fact that Barack Obama and Joe the Plumber can now fill their gas tanks down at the corner Arco station and they’ll each pay the same price per gallon and the same taxes per gallon. In effect, a flat tax.
This obviously does not sit well with liberals. In their ideal world, everything would be taxed progressively.
And that’s where the electric car comes in.
When you drive an electric car, you will no longer fill ‘er up down at the corner gas station and pay that same taxes, rich or poor. No. You’ll charge your electric car at home and be billed for the additional power by your electric utility.
Therein lies the socialist rub. Electric rates are not the same for every home and every homeowner. They are determined by the amount of electricity a home uses, usually defined in progressive (uh-oh, there’s that word again) tiers based on the number of kilowatt hours used. The more electricity you use, the higher tier you fall in, the more you pay, just like the progressive income tax.
The owner of a small home that uses very little electricity may get all his electricity at the lowest rate. He may even get it for free, because exemptions and subsidies allow some low-income people to avoid some or even all of their electric bill. However, the additional electricity required to power a medium-sized home is priced at a higher rate. And the additional electricity required to power a McMansion is priced at a still higher rate.
In most states, the highest usage tiers are priced significantly higher than the lower ones. For example, here’s what those progressive tiers look like on Pacific Gas & Electric bills in California:
Price per Killowatt Hour
Tier 1: $0.11877 for the first 98 KwH
Tier 2: $0.13502 for the next 29.4 KwH
Tier 3: $0.29062 for the next 68.6 KwH
Tier 4: $0.40029 for the next 52.3 KwH
(As you can see, socialism has come to our electric rates just as surely as it’s come to our tax code.)
Larger incomes mean larger homes. Larger homes mean more electricity. More electricity means higher tiers. Higher tiers means higher prices.
Finally, since electric and hybrid cars generally cost considerably more than their gasoline equivalents, it stands to reason that they are being purchased primarily by higher income earners who already live in larger homes and already pay higher electrical rates. If they weren’t already in the highest tier, the additional electricity required to power their new electric vehicles will surely put them there now.
Viola! Just like that, a person converting from a gasoline-powered car to an electric car goes from a flat tax (the same price for every gallon of gas) to a progressive tax (tiered pricing depending on usage).
Very clever, you socialist redistributors of income. Very clever, indeed.
How do Obamabots explain the fact that his State of the Union was written at eighth grade level. In fact, it only one State of the Union address in the last seventy-five years was written at a lower level.
The drumbeat has been constant since the day BarackObama first burst upon the national scene: This guy is smarter than the rest of us. He operates on a completely different intellectual plane than mere mortals. He’s brilliant, you’re not.
So how do Obamabots explain the fact that his State of the Union was written at eighth grade level. In fact, it only one State of the Union address in the last seventy-five years was written at a lower level.
University of Minnesota Smart Politics explains:
The Flesch-Kincaid test is designed to assess the readability level of written text, with a formula that translates the score to a U.S. grade level. Longer sentences and sentences utilizing words with more syllables produce higher scores. Shorter sentences and sentences incorporating more monosyllabic words yield lower scores.
But Tuesday evening’s address beat even that.
A Smart Politics analysis of 69 orally delivered State of the Union Addresses since the mid-1930s finds the text of Obama’s speech to have notched the second lowest score on the Flesch-Kincaid readability test recorded by a U.S. President.
A little advice, Mr President:
No reason to dumb it down. Alan Grayson isn’t in Congress anymore.
UPDATE: Just to do a reality check, we performed the same analysis on a
couple other pieces of writing.
Paul Ryan¹s response to the SOTU was written at the 10.08 grade level.
Michele Bachmann¹s Tea Party response was written at the 9.00 grade level.
The University of Minnesota¹s explanation (excerpted in this article) was written at the 9.24 grade level.
IHateTheMedia.com¹s portion of this story was written at an 8.12 grade level.
Of course, no one ever called us the Smartest Blog In History.

To celebrate our second anniversary, IHateTheMedia.com is giving one lucky person $100 trillion. This is absolutely legit.
And the winner is …
We had a lot of funny entries. Of course, some of you do not understand the concept of “10 words or less,” but that’s a different issue.
Naturally, the Administrator and the Editor could not agree on a winner. Our first thought was to determine the winner using the progressive Democrat method and waiting to see who offered us the most money. But in the end, we took our four favorites and put them in Obama the office cat’s dish and had Mrs. Editor pick one at random.
3rd runner-up: Sidney Harmon and his almost winning entry was “I’d buy Newsweek. Twice.”
2nd runner-up: Road Warrior and his nearly winning entry was “I’d share it with Obama’s brother. Obama won’t help him.”
1st runner up: who will serve as the winner if for any reason the winner is unable to fulfill his duties, is Machogwapo and his entry was “I will get my 150 million USD inheritance from Nigeria.”
And the winner of a brand new, uncirculated $100 trillion Zimbabwean note is: Neo Bonbon. His winning entry was, “Used as a bookmark in Obama’s ‘Dreams From My Father.'”
Just our luck. If we’re not mistaken Neo BonBon lives in Costa Rica and the cost of damn postage will be more than the value of the $100 trillion.
To celebrate our second anniversary, IHateTheMedia.com is giving one lucky person $100 trillion.
This is absolutely legit. To enter just leave a comment at the bottom of this story telling us – IN TEN WORDS OR LESS – what you’d do with this crisp, new, authentic $100 trillion bill if you win it. We’ll pick the answer we like best. The judges decision is final. Deadline for entries is midnight PST, Friday, January 27, 1011 2011. Blah, blah, blah.

In interest of full disclosure, we suppose we should reveal that it’s $100 trillion in authentic, official Zimbabwean currency and worth only about two bucks in American money.
Consider this $100 trillion bill a brutal object lesson in what can happen if our government turns on the printing presses in an attempt to inflate its way out of the economic problems its own policies have caused.
Hyperinflation is an uncontrollable genie that must never be allowed out of the bottle. It didn’t work for Germany’s Weimar Republic. It didn’t work for Argentina. It didn’t work for Brazil. It didn’t work for Zimbabwe. It’s never worked for any country and it won’t work for us. Instead of solving problems, it causes the rapid disintegration of an economy and, potentially, an entire society.
FDR said, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” President Obama’s mantra is, “Zimbabwe today, America tomorrow.”
But follow Roosevelt and fear not. If you’re the winner of our giveaway, at least you’ll have $100 trillion to buy yourself a cup of coffee down at Starbuck’s.
Here are a couple videos that may just scare the hell out of you while you’re waiting to find out if you’re the winner.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOQAy9-ee-Y
And here’s a chart that shows what’s already happened to the American dollar before hyperinflation has even begun. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Deadline for entries is midnight PST, Friday, January 27, 1011. Limit one entry per person.

The Los Angeles Times has the big news:
MSNBC announced Friday night that its marquee “Countdown” anchor and talk show host Keith Olbermann was out. The network did not provide a reason for his abrupt departure.
“MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” NBC Universal said in a statement.
Olbermann and his bosses have clashed in recent months. He was suspended in November for two days after revelations that he gave donations to a Democratic political candidate, which was a violation of the company’s ethics policies for news employees.

But now comes the shocking – totally shocking – news that Governor has been unable to locate that pesky original birth certificate.
Wherever could it be?
There has to be a logical explanation, right?
Well, IHateTheMedia.com to the rescue.
We’re offering Governor Abercrombie the top ten places he should look for the document.
10. It might be under the unicorn feeder, not too far from the magic money printing press that Ben Bernanke uses.
9. The certificate may have been sacrificed to the volcano gods to ensure good luck. After two years of the Obama administration, it obviously didn’t work.
8. Check under Obama’s copy of the Koran signed by Ayatollah Khomeini. The one that reads: “To Barry. Good luck on the whole Manchurian thing. Kho-money.”
7. Perhaps it’s under a stack of promises to close Gitmo.
6. May be tucked in the pages of well-annotated Community Organizing for Dummies book.
5. Have you looked in George Soros’ command bunker? Check under those stacks of Chinese yuan and the deed to Obama’s soul.
4. May have accidentally passed it out as a syllabus during short stint as Harvard lecturer.
3. Pawned for crack in 90s.
2. Hillary Clinton may have it tucked in her jock strap.

Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, noted Constitutional scholar and all-around genius, cements her nomination for Congressional Bonehead of the Year with this brilliant explanation of why, in her mind, repealing ObamaCare is unconstitutional.
The American Spectator reports Jackson Lee’s “interesting” analysis:
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat from Texas, said on Tuesday afternoon that repealing the national health care law would violate the Constitution.
Arguing that the Commerce Clause provides the constitutional basis for ObamaCare, Jackson Lee said repealing the law by passing Republicans’ H.R. 2 violates both the Fifth Amendment’s right to due process and the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection clause.
“The Fifth Amendment speaks specifically to denying someone their life and liberty without due process,” she said in a speech on the House floor moments ago. “That is what H.R. 2 does and I rise in opposition to it. And I rise in opposition because it is important that we preserve lives and we recognize that 40 million-plus are uninsured.
She continued, “Can you tell me what’s more unconstitutional than taking away from the people of America their Fifth Amendment rights, their Fourteenth Amendment rights, and the right to equal protection under the law?”
This is, of course, the same Sheila Jackson Lee who once asked a NASA scientist if the Mars Pathfinder had photographed the flag that our astronatus left on the moon.
We’re not constitutional scholars like Sheila Jackson Lee, so maybe you can help us out with this question:
Is there anything in the Constitution that prohibits morons from serving in Congress?

Thought control runs rampant in the Great White North. Canada’s Broadcast Standards Council has banned “Money For Nothing,” a 25-year old song by Dire Straits.
Thought control runs rampant in the Great White North. Canada’s Broadcast Standards Council has banned “Money For Nothing,” a 25-year old song by Dire Straits.

In its supreme wisdom, the Council has decided that the song’s lyrics are unacceptable for sensitive Canadian ears because the word “faggot” is used repeatedly.
Here are the lyrics that are now scandalizing our northern neighbor twenty-five years after the song was a number one hit:
The little faggot with the earring and the makeup
Yeah buddy, that’s his own hair
That little faggot got his own jet airplane
That little faggot he’s a millionaire
There is, however, one small problem with the Thought Control Council banning “Money For Nothing.” That is, the song is a parody specifically written to put down people who express such unenlightened opinions.
Mark Knoopfler, Dire Straits’ lead singer and co-writer of the song, describes his inspiration in Wikipedia:
“The lead character in “Money for Nothing” is a guy who works in the hardware department in a television/custom kitchen/refrigerator/microwave appliance store. He’s singing the song. I wrote the song when I was actually in the store. I borrowed a bit of paper and started to write the song down in the store. I wanted to use a lot of the language that the real guy actually used when I heard him, because it was more real….”
In 2000, Knopfler appeared on Michael Parkinson’s interview program and explained again where the lyrics originated. According to Knopfler, he was in New York and stopped by an appliance store. At the back of the store, they had a wall of TVs which were all tuned to MTV. Knopfler said there was a man working there dressed in a baseball cap, work boots, and a checkered shirt delivering boxes who was standing next to him watching. As they were standing there watching MTV, Knopfler remembers the man coming up with classic lines such as “what are those, Hawaiian noises?…that ain’t workin” etc. Knopfler asked for a pen to write some of these lines down and then eventually put those words to music.
So the song is actually a brilliant parody of redneck ignorance, something that the Royal Canadian Mounted Thought Police should celebrate, not ban.
But comprehending that concept would require actual thought, something that was banned in Canada at about the same time that “Money For Nothing” was a hit.
It really is a great song. Here’s the original video. Crank up the volume and enjoy it while you still can, because it won’t be long until the American thought police decide it’s unacceptable here, too.

Liberal websites are quickly accusing Sarah Palin and the Tea Party of creating the environment that set off a crazed lunatic like Loughner. Even old liberal warhorse Jane Fonda has indicted Sarah Palin with absolutely no evidence to support her accusations.

However, a quick look at Loughner’s YouTube channel offers no basis for such conclusions. In fact, if anything, it seems to indicate extreme left wing influences.
For example, Loughner’s YouTube channel lists the following books as his favorites.
I had favorite books: Animal Farm, Brave New World, The Wizard Of OZ, Aesop Fables, The Odyssey, Alice Adventures Into Wonderland, Fahrenheit 451, Peter Pan, To Kill A Mockingbird, We The Living, Phantom Toll Booth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Pulp,Through The Looking Glass, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Old Man And The Sea, Gulliver’s Travels, Mein Kampf, The Republic, and Meno.
It’s highly unlikely that Mein Kampf and The Communist Manesfesto are listed among the reading material of very many Tea Party members.
Loughner created and uploaded three remarkably paranoid videos to his YouTube channel. You can see them at the bottom of this story. None of them have anything to do with the Tea Party or Sarah Palin.
That being said, we think you’ll find it instructive to watch the one video Loughner marked as his favorite among the millions of YouTube videos available. It shows a man wearing a smiley face mask walking up to and setting on fire an American flag planted in the desert. Burning the American flag is almost exclusively the domain of liberal protesters. It’s something no Tea Party patriot would ever condone.
Make sure you turn up the audio and listen to the words of the heavy metal music to understand Loughner’s twisted view of the world.
UPDATE: Catie Parker, one of Loughner’s classmates at Mountain View High School, also indicates that he was extremely left wing. Here’s a series of Tweets she left regarding the assassin aggregated into one continuous message:
This is a circus. Good Morning America just called me … it’s loughner just checked my year book … I haven’t seen him since ’07. Then, he was left wing … more left. I haven’t seen him since ’07 though. He became very reclusive … he had a lot of friends until he got alcohol poisoning in ’06, & dropped out of school. Mainly loner very philosophical … As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy … he was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix,The Doors, Anti-Flag. I haven’t seen him in person since ’07 in a sign language class … He was a political radical & met Giffords once before in ’07, asked her a question & he told me she was “stupid & unintelligent”
Here’s is Jared Loughner’s “favorite” video:
Here are the videos Loughner created and uploaded to his YouTube channel:
John B. Miller, a scientist for the U.S National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration spoke at a global warming rally and eco-wacko extravaganza back in October 2009. That’s where he announced that the “master variable” of climate change is population control.
John B. Miller, a scientist for the U.S National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration spoke at a global warming rally and eco-wacko extravaganza back in October 2009. That’s where he announced that the “master variable” of climate change is population control. Oh, we beg your pardon. Not just population control, but population reduction.
I’d be remiss, as a scientist who studied this, if I didn’t mention the following two things.
The first is that, most importantly, we need to do, as a society, in this country and globally, whatever we can to reduce population. [Cheers, applause] It’s the “master variable” that controls everything [shouts of “That’s right.”].
And what I mean by this is not just in the developing world where it’s a known fact that empowered women have been a proven strategy to make healthier, wealthier and smaller families. [More cheers, more applause] But additionally and especially in our country and other developed countries, we have a population problem, because our per capita emissions are higher than anybody. Yet we continue to have – and this is true in every industrialized country – lots of tax benefits, encouragements to have more and more.
Our whole economic philosophy is based on growth, and growth of our population, and this madness has to end.
We assume that Miller will be the one deciding who stays and who goes and that his name will not be high on the list of those going.

Even though we know Hartmann is a lunatic lib, we’re still surprised that he would do a TV show for the Russians.
Much to our surprise, former Air America host and left wing lunatic Thom Hartmann is a fan of IHateTheMedia.com. Well, that may be overstating it just a tad, but he is a fan of one particular IHTM story.

A couple weeks ago we did a story called The Encounter. It was a parody – a tale of an enhanced TSA pat down disguised as softcore porn.
The Encounter got picked up by a lot of other websites and got a lot of attention.
Rich Albeen, the guy who wrote it, is an old friend of the Editor. Rich was amused when he received his own story in an email from another friend. Then he was enraged when someone else was credited as its author at the bottom of that email. Rich’s son was so irked that he took it upon himself to send an email to or leave a comment on every site that carried it without crediting IHateTheMedia.com and his dad.
Now back to Thom Hartmann. Apparently he has a TV show. A writer for that show tracked down the author The Encounter and the following exchange of emails took place:

Subject: TSA Romance novelHi Mr. Albeen –
I’m a writer for the Big Picture with Thom Hartmann – a TV Show on RT America.
I’ve been trying to track the origin of this piece:
“He grasped me firmly but gently just above my elbow and guided me into a room, his room. Then he quietly shut the door and we were alone…”
And it seems like it traces back to a post your (sic) wrote on IHateMedia.com back in November – is that correct? Or did you get it from someone else as well?Any info would be great.
Thanks,
Sam Sacks

I wrote the piece, originally titled The Encounter, for my friend … who owns and runs the website www.ihatethemedia.com.The piece appeared in November.
(The Editor) and I have been friends for years. I’m a professional writer, and (he) asked me to do a piece on the current spate of TSA complaints for his satiric, parody-ish site. I agreed. It was fun.
I never knew it would have the impact that it evidently has. So, in short, I wrote the piece, it was entertaining, and the rest is, well, as you know.
Does this help?

So thanks for the info.

Here’s what Thom Hartmann’s The Big Picture program did with our story. We appreciate the newly-shorn Hartmann’s outstanding reading (he had just the proper degree of quiver in his voice) and the finely-acted final scene. Of course, it would have been nice if he had actually mentioned IHateTheMedia.com, but you can’t win ’em all.
We’re hit whores here at IHateTheMedia.com and we don’t care if Hartman’s a big lib. Our assumption is that almost anyone, regardless of political leanings, would find The Encounter funny. We’d love to have his lefty viewers come over here and leave their loony comments.
But we did wonder about Thom Hartmann’s TV show. We’d never heard of The Big Picture nor a television network called RT America, so we went to the website indicated on Sam Sacks’ email.
rttvamerica.com immediately refers over to another site, rt.com.
RT.com seemed to have a lot of Russian content, so we went to the bottom of the homepage where we found a copyright that said, “TV-Novosti.”
We googled TV-Novosti and found out that it is the Russian state-owned news agency. Here’s how Wikipedia describes it:
Russian International News Agency (RIA Novosti) is a Russian state-owned news agency based in the capital Moscow.
… By a decree of USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev, “On the Establishment of the Information Agency Novosti,” the Information Agency Novosti (IAN) succeeded APN on July 27, 1990. “To provide information support for the USSR’s state domestic and foreign policies and proceeding from the interests of the democratization of the mass media,” the Novosti Press Agency was renamed the Information Agency Novosti (IAN). IAN’s tasks remained the same – preparing and publishing printed, TV and radio materials in the USSR and abroad; studying public opinion on Soviet foreign and domestic policies in the USSR and abroad.”
So the question is, why does Thom Hartmann, an extreme liberal radio talk show host, do a TV show produced by the Russian state-owned network?
The guy’s radio show has about a dozen listeners on a good day, so we’re not surprised that no American TV network is willing to offer him his own show. (Sure, we know that Rachel Maddow came out of AirAmerica, but she had that lesbian thing working for her. Hartmann doesn’t have that advantage).
Call us naïve, but even though we know Hartmann is a lunatic lib, we’re still surprised that he would do a TV show for the Russians. Obviously, his political philosophy is aligned more closely to that of the leftist dictatorship than it is to that of the American people, but what the hey? Do they not even try to hide it anymore?
Only in America, we suppose, would a failed liberal talk show host be given a TV show on a TV network run by an enemy of America.

You know what we need to make us love Muslims who love death more than life? A Muslim version of the Cosby Show, that’s what. Yup, that’s what CBS News anchorette Katie Couric says:
You know what we need to make us love Muslims who love death more than life? A Muslim version of the Cosby Show, that’s what. Yup, that’s what CBS News anchorette Katie Couric says:
I also think sort of the chasm, between, or the bigotry expressed against Muslims in this country has been one of the most disturbing stories to surface this year. Of course, a lot of noise was made about the Islamic Center, mosque, down near the World Trade Center, but I think there wasn’t enough sort of careful analysis and evaluation of where this bigotry toward 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide, and how this seething hatred many people feel for all Muslims, which I think is so misdirected, and so wrong — and so disappointing. Maybe we need a Muslim version of The Cosby Show.
I know that sounds crazy, I know that sounds crazy. But The Cosby Show did so much to change attitudes about African-Americans in this country, and I think sometimes people are afraid of what they don’t understand…
But wait, Katie. We thought the liberal position was that racial relations are still terrible in this evil, racist country.
Maybe what we really need is a Muslim version of Chico & The Man. And maybe a Muslim version of Charlie Chan.
Good lord, this woman is stupid. And this is what passes for intellectual discourse in 2011.
We are doomed. Happy new year.
