Castro tells Cubans, “If we don’t change things now, we will bring about collapse”

How do you say “uh-oh” in Spanish? Cuban President Raúl Castro has warned his island nation that it’s running out of time. If they don’t change their economic system soon, it’s going to be adios, amigos.

Things are somewhat less than paradisiacal in Raúl Castro's People's Paradise of Cuba

Cadena Gramonte has the details:

In a two-hour speech, Raúl Castro emphasized that the initiatives introduced regarding the Cuban economy do not mean the end of the ideals of the revolution to create an equal society, but rather to strengthen, not replace, socialism.

The Cuban leader stressed the need for the country and its leaders to correct mistakes because, otherwise, the Revolution and efforts made by many generations will collapse. Raul Castro said: ¨We are already running out of time. If we don´t change things now, we will bring about the collapse (…) of efforts by many generations.”

The workers paradise is going to lay off 500,000 workers by April and is may cut as many as 800,000 jobs over the next three years. And even worse, the Associated Press reports that Castro says the gravy train is leaving the station.

He also warned his countrymen that they’ll have to work in the new Cuba, and can no longer rely on the state for handouts.

“Many of us Cubans confuse socialism with freebies and subsidies, and equality with egalitarianism,” the president said.

Le gran experimento has failed in the laboratory of life. What is it about this that President Obama and the Democrats don’t understand?

Your tax dollars at work: Illegal aliens to get free heart surgery, cancer treatment and psychiatric care

There’s nothing too good for our illegal aliens, damn it. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is now offering illegal aliens the kind of medical treatment you’d love to have if you needed it.

There’s nothing too good for our illegal aliens, damn it. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is now offering illegal aliens the kind of medical treatment you’d love to have if you needed it.

illegal-aliens-free-medical-care
Free medical care for illegal aliens. It's the American way.

And we’re sure you won’t be surprised to find out it’s all because of a lawsuit by the ACLU.

The Examiner reports the depressing details:

Among the many services which ICE will now provide illegal aliens in their custody are heart surgeries, cancer biopsies, treatment for diabetes, dental care, and treatment for mental depression.

On Thursday, Elizabeth Alexander, former Director of the ACLU National Prison Project and lead attorney in the suit said: “For the first time, ICE has committed to providing all necessary health care to immigration detainees beyond just emergency care.”

So let’s choose a random country. Mexico, let’s say. You’re a potential illegal alien sitting in your casa in Michoacan when you notice a growth the size of a grapefruit on the left side of your head. This isn’t good, you think to yourself. What should I do? Should I go to the hack doctor down the street who will probably tell me to go home and kiss my wife and kids goodbye? Or should I sneak across the border where I’ll get the kind of treatment regular American citizens can’t afford?

“Hasta la vista, honey. I’ll be back as soon as those gringo doctors fix me up.”

We will forgive Julian Assange if…

Specifically, we’d like to see Obama’s original birth certificate, his college transcripts and records of who paid for his college education.

julian assange We would say that Julian Assange should be set free, cleared of all charges and maybe even given a damn medal if he would just release a few additional secret documents.

Specifically, we’d like to see Obama’s original birth certificate, his college transcripts and records of who paid for his college education.

C’mon, Julian, if you can get your hands on sensitive military and diplomatic documents, how tough could it be to procure a couple documents Americans are really interested in?

Native Americans give Obama an Indian name. We give him 20 others.

President Obama earned himself a Native American name last week. It’s a doozy. The Crow Nation dubbed him “One Who Helps People Throughout the Land.” Here’s our list of 20 more.

President Obama earned himself a Native American name last week. It’s a doozy.

DailyCaller.com has news of the new Native American nomenclature:

President Obama said Thursday that the United States will sign a United Nations non-binding declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples, a move that advocates called another step in improving Washington’s relationship with Native Americans.

Unfortunately, they don't make a headdress big enough to fit Chief He Who Smoke Peace Pipe While Enemy Sharpen Tomahawk

Obama announced the decision during the second White House Tribal Conference, where he said he is “working hard to live up to” the name that was given to him by the Crow Nation: “One Who Helps People Throughout the Land.”

That’s all well and good, but it seems to us that if the Crow Nation had given a little more thought to President Obama’s personality and actual accomplishments, they could have come up with some other names that are more appropriate for the man. Such as:

  1. Chief Laughing Pork
  2. Chief Born In Three Places
  3. Chief Bow to Other Chiefs
  4. Chief Shitting Bull
  5. Chief Lost His House
  6. Chief Hide-behind-Bush
  7. Chief Talk With Machine
  8. Chief Deer in Headlights
  9. Chief Blabbering Stream
  10. Chief Running Mouth
  11. Chief Who Spend Wampum Like Drunken Kardashian Sister
  12. Chief One Term
  13. Chief Who Love Own Reflection In Pool
  14. Chief Spread Other People’s Wampum
  15. Chief Never Stop Running
  16. Chief Peacemaker Who Start Class Warfare
  17. Chief Double Talker (shortened from the literal translation: “Chief Who Talk Out of Both Sides of Mouth”)
  18. Chief Who Speaks With Forked Teleprompter
  19. Chief Who Chase Little White Ball While World Burn
  20. Chief He Who Smoke Peace Pipe While Enemy Sharpen Tomahawk

Don’t thank us, Crow Nation. We’re here for our red brothers.

In case of emergency, please put Erin Burnett’s bra over your face

MSNBC’s Erin Burnett shows viewers a pretty red bra that’s also functions as an emergency gas mask. She even demonstrates how it works by placing the bra over her face.

Chris Matthews didn’t wait for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” to be repealed. He always admitted that Barack Obama sent a tingle up his leg. But we get that same tingle from CNBC’s Erin Burnett.

In this very odd clip the CNBC’s money honey shows MSNBC’s Morning Joe team the gift she got from CNBC co-host Mark Haines in the company gift exchange. It’s a pretty red bra that’s also functions as an emergency gas mask. She even demonstrates how it works by placing the bra over her face.

There’s no question that Erin is slurring her words and acting a little loopy. In fact, at one point Joe Scarborough actually asks her if she’s had “too much eggnog.”

We are of the belief that Erin could dwarf her CNBC salary by selling her own line of gas mask bras on eBay. We know there’s nothing we’d enjoy more than sitting around in our Snuggies on a cold winter night pretending that the air is poisonous.

By the way, is Erin Burnett married?

Let the hearings begin: Republicans to investigate Muslim radicalization

Let’s see. Fort Hood shooter, Muslim. Underpants bomber, Muslim. Times Square bomber, Muslim. Christmas bomber, Muslim. Hmmmm. Could there be some link between these guys that we’re overlooking?

Not if New York Congressman Peter King has anything to say about it. The new chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee says one of the first orders of business for the new Republican majority will be to investigate Muslim radicalization in the United States.

It’s about friggin’ time, isn’t it?

King spoke to Fox News on Sunday and said:

“Fact is, no one had a closer relationship to the Muslim community than I did before September 11. Since then I’ve been disappointed, though, by the number of their leaders who would not cooperate with law enforcement. There are actual cases in this country where imams direct their members not to cooperate with law enforcement on very serious investigations. And when you talk to law enforcement people around the country including this area here they will say they do not yet have the level of support that we need. Now, the overwhelming majority of Muslims are good people. But for whatever reason the people in their leadership are not cooperative and I believe it’s important to have this investigation on radicalization of the Muslim community. We’ve seen what happened in England. We know al Queda is trying to recruit people over here such as they did with the Subway Bomber here in New York last year. The attempted subway bombing, the Times Square bombing – these are all people living legally in the United States.”

Bill O’Reilly doesn’t like it when you say the problem with the American economy is the American people

And Bill O’Reilly fired back on Thursday night.

Lunatic lib Fareed Zakaria appeared on CNN’s Parker Spitzer (yes, it’s still on the air) and said the problem with the American economy is the American people.

“No, I think the people are the big problem,” Zakaria said. “I mean, Americans — everybody wants to say the American people are so wonderful. You know, I think that when they come to recognize that they have to make sacrifices too that it’s not just wasteful — they need to have — they need to recognize that some of what’s going to happen here is fewer. They have to consume fewer things. They have to accept slightly higher taxes. And in the long run, you will have a much better economy.”

And Bill O’Reilly fired back on Thursday night.

Personally, we think Parker Spitzer is the problem. We are, of course, highly-trained economists and we believe that all our other problems will begin to solve themselves once this horrible TV show is cancelled.

NASA says we need more global warming to prevent this from becoming a common scene in Miami Beach

…According to scientists’ models of Earth’s orbit and orientation toward the Sun indicate that our world should be just beginning to enter a new period of cooling — perhaps the next ice age.

However, a new force for change has arisen: humans. After the industrial revolution, humans introduced increasing amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and changed the surface of the landscape to an extent great enough to influence climate on local and global scales. By driving up carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere (by about 30 percent), humans have increased its capacity to trap warmth near the surface.

So drive that gas guzzler. Turn the heat up in your house. Cancel your plans for that backyard windmill.

Then get a big, furry parka and rent yourself a cave near Palm Springs, baby. The Ice Age is coming.

Hooters Girls
Guys go to Hooters for the food like they buy Playboy for the articles

SFGate.com has the details:

The National Organization for Women filed complaints against local Hooters restaurants Thursday, but not for exploiting its scantily clad waitresses by subjecting them to leering and groping customers.

The subject this time was Hooters’ catering to children.

The restaurants in San Francisco, San Bruno, Sacramento and Orange County are classified as “adult entertainment” establishments but also serve minors, NOW’s California chapter said in papers filed with police and prosecutors.
What’s more, the organization said, Hooters provides child menus, high chairs and booster seats, and sells T-shirts in children’s sizes that identify the wearer as a “Future Hooters Girl.”

Don’t you suspect that if Hooters didn’t provide child menus, high chairs and booster seats some other liberal organization would accuse them of discriminating against children?

The way we understand this story, NOW is only a proponent of choice if that choice involves aborting a baby. But if parents should make the mistake of actually having that child, the same organization will then deny them their choice of restaurants.

Is that correct?

The soon-to-be former Speaker stood on the floor of the House and said, “Obama was a job creator from day one.”

This, of course, is in complete contrast to reality, which shows that lowest unemployment rate of the Obama administration was on day one. It has done nothing but rise since then.

Bottom line: In the last two years we’ve lost nine million jobs and one mind.

Another reason we love Paul Ryan (in the manliest of manly man ways)

Here’s a very persuasive Ryan explaining why we needed to extend the Bush tax cuts and why he was willing to hold his nose and accept the compromise with the President Obama.

Unless we’re mistaken, Paul Ryan has a big future. Of course, we’re not exactly Jeane Dixon, but that’s never stopped us from making predictions.

Four minutes of intelligent, persuasive public speaking, we might point out, without a Teleprompter.

Obama explains Einstein’s theory of Relativity to a dimwitted reporter

The President is explaining to the dimwitted reporter that because of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, there’s a thousand years difference between the politics of the moment and what we can get done now.

As you near the speed of light, time slows down. So if you left earth and traveled through space for one year, you would return one year older than when you left, but a thousand years might have passed on earth. Or something like that.

obama-genius
We may be getting wet, but the rain fell a thousand years ago for President Obama

We think that’s what the President was trying to explain with this question and answer:

Reporter: You’ve been telling the American people all along that you oppose extending the tax cuts for the wealthier Americans. You said that again today. But what you never said was that you oppose the tax cuts, but you’d be willing to go ahead and extend them for a couple years if the politics of the moment demand it.

So what I’m wondering is when you take a stand like you had, why should the American people believe that you’re going to stick with it? Why should the American people believe that you’re not going to flip flop?

Obama: Hold on a second, Ben. This isn’t the politics of the moment. This has to do with what can we get done right now.

See? The President is explaining to the dimwitted reporter that because of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, there’s a thousand years difference between the politics of the moment and what we can get done now.

You, much like the dimwitted reporter, may think that “now” and “of the moment” mean the same thing, but that’s only because your mind is not traveling at the speed of light like President Obama’s.

Class dismissed.

Everyone should understand this earmark issue is simply that – a way for the Executive branch of government to steal power we’ve been granted in our Constitution. We have a Constitutional duty to do Congressionally-directed spending. And I don’t want to gie up that responsibility. I can’t understand why some of the more conservative members here want to give up their power. I don’t understand that.”

The audacity of ho-ho-hope: It took hundreds of workers four days to decorate the White House Christmas tree

A new time-lapse video released by the White House reveals the sheer scale of the operation to erect the official Christmas Tree of the First Family with hundreds of workers visible as the Douglas fir begins to take shape.

One tree, four days, hundreds of workers.

Instead of thinking of this as a symbol of the White House’s disconnect with what’s happening in America, think of it as President Obama’s attempt to single handedly solve the unemployment problem.

The Daily Mail UK has the story of excess:

He may have suffered a blow after being forced to compromise with the Republican party over tax cuts but President Obama has not let the setback affect his Christmas.

A new time-lapse video released by the White House reveals the sheer scale of the operation to erect the official Christmas Tree of the First Family with hundreds of workers visible as the Douglas fir begins to take shape.

It took the small army of workers four-and-a-half days to decorate the eighteen-and-a-half feet high Douglas Fir, which will be the centerpiece of the Obama’s second Christmas in the White House, ironically coined, “Simple Gifts” by the First Lady.

By the way, is it still called the White House Christmas tree? Or has that been changed to Holiday tree?

Here’s that time-lapse video.

Mayoral challenger James Meeks came under fire Thursday for suggesting that only African-Americans should be eligible for city contracts set aside for minorities and women.

… “The word ‘minority’ from our standpoint should mean African-American. I don’t think women, Asians and Hispanics should be able to use that title,” he said. “That’s why our numbers cannot improve — because we use women, Asians and Hispanics who are not people of color, who are not people who have been discriminated against.”

Scarborough on MSNBC bias: “They always say ‘a George W. Bush-appointee’ or ‘a Reagan appointee’”

Scarborough pointed out the bias at his network, MSNBC, and even offered a particular example. MSNBC hosts and guests are eager to associate judges with which president appointed them if it involves a Republican and a decision with which they disagree.

We’re baffled by MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough. Every time we’re ready to write him off as hopeless, he surprises us.

Like this little gem reported by DailyCaller.com:

Scarborough pointed out the bias at his network, MSNBC, and even offered a particular example. As Scarborough pointed out, MSNBC hosts and guests are always eager to associate judges with which president appointed them – but only if it involves a Republican and a decision with which they disagree.

“I’m just curious, and it was our staff that did it this time – I’m always curious when there is a controversial issue, and [Jon] Meacham, you know this is true, that mainstream media doesn’t like – they always will say ‘a George W. Bush-appointee,’ ‘a Reagan appointee,’” Scarborough said. “It would be legitimate, and you Jon, you know this it to be true when a Democrat does something unpopular, they never say ‘a Clinton appointee.’ Never, never. People’s champion Bernie Sanders fights for your right to work harder for less money

Bernie Sanders uses terms like “fairness” and “for the children” while he seeks to children with trillions more in debt. At the same time, he seeks to punish those whom have the audacity to create jobs that diminish dependence on government.

Bernie Sanders is a socialist from Vermont. What is so special about that, you might ask? Nothing. But, unlike all but one other person from Vermont, Bernie is also a United States Senator. This makes his whole existence as an authoritarian all the more troubling to you, us and everybody else in the country.

Bernie, you see, has the power to steal from some citizens, give those ill-gotten gains to other citizens and then collect votes for being the middleman. And that’s exactly what Sanders has been up to this week.

Sanders is good at what he does. He’s been at it a long time and has mastered the one thing necessary to sustain this sort of scam – the art of double speak.

For that reason Sanders uses terminology like “fairness” and “for the children” while he seeks to saddle those children with trillions more in debt. At the same time, he seeks to punish those whom have the audacity to create jobs that diminish dependence on government.

Make no mistake, Bernie Sanders has no love for working families. As a socialist there is no greater obstacle to his goals than a strong middle class. Unless maybe it’s a strong upper class.

Here’s Bernie asking the rich “when is enough enough?” Mayhaps he should ask the same question of public sector unions instead.

By the way, this video is from CSPAN-2. CSPAN is awesome. It is like ESPN for smart people.

Which CBS executive hired Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson to host the Late, Late Show? Whoever it was deserves a raise, because it was an inspired choice.

MSNBC’s Richard Wolffe was Ferguson’s guest on Wednesday night and tried to explain why he was against any extension of the Bush tax cuts. The following conversation ensued:

Wolffe: I am a journalist.

Not only was Ferguson’s delivery and timing absolutely perfect, but so was Wolffe’s muted acceptance of the truth. He sat there in stunned silence with a silly grin on his face. Right next to the egg on his face.

Michelle’s austerity program: First Lady wears second-hand dress to White House Christmas party

Some of the nouveau riche don't really care about the nouveau poor

The New York Post has details of the horrifying haute couture:

Michelle Obama is once again setting the style world abuzz — wearing a thrift-store dress to the “Christmas in Washington” concert, which was taped Sunday and airs on TNT tonight.

The “couture” black-lace overlay frock, featuring a high, square neckline and a full skirt was plucked from New York Vintage in Chelsea.

The secondhand 1950s piece — believed to be the first vintage dress worn by a first lady to a public event — was made by American designer Norman Norelli, who died in 1972 and was among the most influential designers of his time.

The store’s owners would not say how much the first lady paid for the dress, but prices for vintage clothing have risen dramatically as quality pieces have become wildly popular among celebrities and on the red carpet. One estimate for this hand-me-down was $2,500.

$2500 for a second-hand dress. That’s nearly eight times that average annual income in Kenya, a country chosen entirely at random for comparison purposes only.

Michelle Antoinette really is the perfect nickname for this woman, isn’t it?
