Robert Gibbs threatens to send reporter to bed without her dinner

Thursday a reporter had the temerity, the nerve, the gall, to repeatedly ask Robert Gibbs what White House party planner Desiree Rogers was doing during the state dinner. Was she working at the party or was she attending the party?

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is at his best (or worst) when being dismissive of anyone daring to criticize The Greatest President In History.

Thursday a reporter had the temerity, the nerve, the gall, to repeatedly ask Gibbs what White House party planner Desiree Rogers was doing during the state dinner. Was she working at the party or was she attending the party?

A clearly perturbed Gibbs finally said “Just take a deep breath” and compared her to his children. It was over the top even for Gibbs – so condescending that the rest of the assembled press corp to let loose with an audible “Ooooh.”

Gibbs then threatened to send her to bed without dinner and cut off her allowance.

President Obama starring in remake of “the color purple”

The frightening thing is watching how quickly so many counties turned purple over the course of the last two years.

President Obama said there are no red states and there are no blue states, just purple states.

We don’t know if that’s why AmericanObserver.net used the color purple to represent the highest unemployment rate on this animated map, but it wouldn’t have been a bad idea.

The frightening thing is watching how quickly so many counties turned purple over the course of the last two years.

How’s that stimulus working out for you so far?

Source: AmericanObserver.net via The Big Feed

Ouch! Last week Chris Matthews compared Obama to Jimmy Carter, this week to Neville Chamberlain.

Let’s see, which is worse? Being compared to one of the worst American presidents of the 20th century or being compared to one of the worst British prime ministers of the 20th century?

Let’s see, which is worse? Being compared to one of the worst American presidents of the 20th century or being compared to one of the worst British prime ministers of the 20th century?

We have to think about this one for a minute or two.

OK. That’s long enough. We’ve decided it’s worse to be compared to Jimmy Carter than to Neville Chamberlain because at least the British accent sounds sophisticated, but Jimmy Carter sounds like…well…like Jimmy Carter.

Here’s another example of the left turning on Barack Obama. Chris Matthews is upset. And we like that.

Chris Matthews: Will this long deliberation, Anne Kornblut, you’ve got the tough question here to start with. Whip around here. It took three months to make this decision. Will he look smart and deliberate for having taken all this time, or will the dithering shot still being cast in by people like former Vice President Dick Cheney, is that still going to hurt?
Anne Kornblut: The gamble they’re making is that he’ll look smart and he’ll look like the anti-Bush for having thought about it for so long.
Joe Klein: The anti-Bush part is really important because Bush really needed to do a strategy re-evaluation about Iraq six months in there and he never did.
Chris Matthews: Andrea, will it look good if he takes all this time?
Andrea Kramer: I agree. I think it will look good if he takes his time, if taking his time he comes out with something that adds up. If he doesn’t then people will say you took so long and what did you deliver?
David Ignatius: The long period of analysis, very deliberative, robs this of passion. This is, he is going to be a wartime president now, and he has to sell the country on the idea that our young men and women are going to go there, fight and get killed and I think this is not…
Chris Matthews: So, too much Chamberlain and not enough Churchill.
David Ignatius: Well, too much, too much college professor.

Now we just need to put Barack Obama in one of those fancy top hats that Neville Chamberlain used to wear and the image is complete.

2009 hurricane season and Al Gore’s credibility expire simultaneously

Sadly, Gore’s credibility peaked in 2005 and so did hurricanes. The Atlantic hurricane season ended today after producing the fewest named storms in 12 years. It was the first time in three years that no hurricane struck the U.S. mainland.

2009-hurricane-season

An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore’s Academy Award-winning science fiction movie, attempted to scare the bejeebers out of you by claiming that global warming would inevitably lead to increased frequency and intensity of hurricanes.

Sadly, Gore’s credibility peaked in 2005 and so did hurricanes.

As Bloomberg reported on December 1:

Atlantic Hurricane Season Has Fewest Named Storms in 12 Years

The Atlantic hurricane season ended today after producing the fewest named storms in 12 years. It was the first time in three years that no hurricane struck the U.S. mainland.

The story continued:

The calmer season was expected and reflected the development of a mid-year eastern Pacific warming pattern called El Nino, said Gerry Bell, lead seasonal hurricane forecaster at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, in Camp Springs, Maryland.

Unfortunately, the Insurance Journal reported a different reality: In its December (2008) forecast, the Colorado State University team predicted 14 named storms. That included seven hurricanes and three big ass major hurricanes.

Ahhh, but alas. It was not to be.

In reality, the 2009 season that ended as December began saw storms that barely qualified as storms. It featured storms that formed and dissipated so quickly that it’s almost surprising they were even noticed. We even had a couple oddball storms that formed far north of the typical hurricane track. It was the first time in several years in which no hurricanes hit the United States. And we even had a late hurricane that barely qualified as one. To sum it all up, 2009 was one of the quietest hurricane seasons in decades.

And so we simultaneously bid a fond adieu to the 2009 hurricane season and to Albert Gore’s tattered credibility.

We know there will be another hurricane season in 2010, but the return of Gore’s credibility is far less certain.

Life isn’t the same for Anderson Cooper since Lou Dobbs left him

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has seen his numbers slip significantly through the past year. His 10 p.m. show, “Anderson Cooper 360,” has declined 62% in total viewers and 70% in adults 25-54 from November 2008, according to Nielsen figures.

A very pensive Anderson Cooper wonders where his viewers went
A very pensive Anderson Cooper wonders where his viewers went

Hey, get your mind out of the gutter, pal. We’re talking about the latest cable news ratings here.

Here’s how Business Insider tells the tale of Cooper’s precipitous decline:

The respected CNN anchor has seen his numbers slip significantly through the past year. His 10 p.m. show, “Anderson Cooper 360,” has declined 62% in total viewers and 70% in adults 25-54 from November 2008, according to Nielsen figures.

Last month, in Cooper’s time slot, Fox News’ “On the Record” attracted an average viewership of 1.9 million while “360” averaged 672,000; repeats of MSNBC’s “Countdown” and HLN’s Nancy Grace show averaged 655,000 and 458,000, respectively.

What’s the cause of Cooper’s decline? The Business Insider speculates:

So what happened? Let’s see: There’s no presidential election to ramp up ratings; there’s heavy competition from centrist CNN’s noisier rivals (see: Fox News, the No. 1 cable news channel); there’s people catching up on DVR-ed TV shows in the late evening; then there’s the loss of Lou Dobbs in the 7 p.m. anchor chair, among other possible factors.

Oddly enough, the Business Insider concludes with a decidedly unbusinesslike recommendation:

Work those blue eyes, Coop!

Our recommendation would be slightly different:

Wear a short skirt, Coop. It seems to work over at Fox.

Vanity Fair thinks maybe Obama should be added to Mount Rushmore

The good folks at Vanity Fair decided that Barack Obama should included in a survey that asked which president should be added to Mount Rushmore.

Sure, the guy’s only been president for 10 months. And sure, his approval rating is going down faster than Adam Lambert at an award show. And sure, the 2010 elections look like a disaster for his party. And sure, he’s made us look like chumps on the international stage. And sure…well…you get the idea.

Nevertheless, the good folks at Vanity Fair decided that Barack Obama should included in a survey that asked which president should be added to Mount Rushmore.

Kennedy won the vote with 29%. Reagan was second with 20%. FDR was third with 18%. But the guy described in the first paragraph of this came in fourth with 16%.

C’mon, people, at this point the Obama chia pet seems more reasonable than Mount Rushmore.

Obama’s Auntie Zeituni is deeply disappointed in her nephew. Just like most legal Americans.

This is a sad story. A very sad story, indeed. It looks like President Obama has abandoned his beloved Auntie Zeituni in her hour of greatest need.

Auntie Zeituni lives in Boston. Maybe John Kerry can find a spare room in his mansion for her.
Auntie Zeituni lives in Boston. Maybe John Kerry can find a spare room in his mansion for her.

This is a sad story. A very sad story, indeed. It looks like President Obama has abandoned his beloved Auntie Zeituni in her hour of greatest need.

The Associated Press tells the tragic tale:

President Barack Obama’s aunt buried her face in her hands and sobbed as she described her anguish over no longer having contact with him and his family after the revelation she had been living illegally for years in the United States in public housing.

Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUH’-nee awn-YAHN’-goh) told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview that she is troubled that her immigration woes have made her a political liability to her nephew.

Onyango, the half sister of Obama’s late father, said she has exiled herself from the family after attending Obama’s inauguration because she didn’t want to become fodder for his foes. Obama and his family have not reached out to her either, she said.

“Before, we were family. But right now, there is a lot of politics, and me, I am not interested in any politics at all,” said Onyango, whose appeal for asylum from her native Kenya is before an immigration judge in Boston.

The Obamas are her only family in the United States, she said.

“It is very sad when such a thing happens. There are people, outsiders, you know, they come in between, they divide a family,” she said last week. “It’s not easy.”

In related news, Obama has also abandoned every one of his campaign promises.

New York prostitution expert says we’ve been screwed by the Secretary of the Treasury

Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, also known as Client Number 9, says Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has been screwing the American people for years.

Eliot Spitzer is a very cost-effective public servant. He got screwed for $1000, but it cost Tim Geithner $13 billion.
Eliot Spitzer is a very cost-effective public servant. He got screwed for $1000, but it cost Tim Geithner $13 billion.

Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, also known as Client Number 9, says Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner has been screwing the American people for years.

NewsMax.org reports the sordid details of this pseudo-sex scandal:

…Spitzer cites a new report on the government bailout of AIG, issued by Special Inspector General Neil Barofsky that reveals that then-New York Fed President Geithner and others capitulated to the very banks they should have been supervising.

After Geithner intervened in AIG’s negotiations with its counterparties, which included Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase and UBS, they received 100 cents for every dollar the giant insurer owed them, even though they were ready to accept much less.

Geithner’s intervention added at least $13 billion to the bailout costs, which taxpayers will ultimately pay.

“Barofsky’s report reads like a case study in failed negotiation,” Spitzer writes in Slate magazine.

“The New York Fed didn’t have the backbone to stand up to Wall Street, didn’t understand its capacity to protect taxpayers, and didn’t appreciate that its responsibility was to taxpayers.”

We think Spitzer is being a tad harsh. C’mon, Eliot, cut Geithner a little slack. The guy didn’t even know how to do his taxes. So what makes you think he capable of understanding complex financial negotiations?

Yes, the enemy camp. Home of hate speech like “Duty, Honor, Country” and evil stuff like that. And you wonder why the military doesn’t love the President?

71% of American voters are pissed at the federal government. Remaining 29% in coma.

71% of American voters are angry at the federal government. Are you?

Let’s give credit where credit is due. Candidate Obama said he would unify the American people and President Obama has delivered on that promise. Just not in the way he expected.

We never thought we’d see the day when 71% of Ameridan voters agreed on anything, but that’s the percentage of voters who agree they’re pissed at the federal government.

Here’s how Rasmussen reported the results of a new survey:

Seventy-one percent (71%) of voters nationwide say they’re at least somewhat angry about the current policies of the federal government. That figure includes 46% who are Very Angry.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 27% are not angry about the government’s policies, including 10% who are Not at All Angry.

Men are angrier than women, and voters over 40 are more angry than those who are younger. A majority of those over 40 are Very Angry. Only 25% of under-30 voters share that view.

The data suggests that the level of anger is growing. The 71% who are angry at federal government policies today is up five percentage points since September.

Even more stunning, the 46% who are Very Angry is up 10 percentage points from September.

Seventy one percent? Holy crap, man, you can’t get 71% of the people to agree that the sun rises in the east.

Good work, President Obama.

We realize this is a very difficult decision. So as a public service, IHateTheMedia.com offers this information to help you make your choice:

The one-of-a-kind Obama bust sits atop a hand-carved platform made by artisans of Kogelo, Kenya, the home village of President Obama’s alcoholic, abusive father. You can choose between two poses – Candidate Obama, so full of hope and change, or President Obama, beaming proudly in his full socialist glory. Please be aware that all proceeds go to a Kenyan charity. Total cost: $899.00.

The Chia Pet Obama bust is made of clay (much like the actual Obama’s feet). It comes with a convenient drip tray, handmade planter, enough seeds for three plantings, plus planting and care instructions. And if Barack Obama isn’t your cup of tea, you can also choose from other presidents who are actually known to love their country (George Washington and Abe Lincoln) or the Statue of Liberty. Total cost $19.95 plus shipping.

This is an easy choice for us. Give us the chia pet Obama. Because The Greatest President in History deserves to be seen in his full, green glory.

We can’t think of anything we’d rather see under our tree this Christmas this year.

Hondurans provide preview of 2010 American elections: Leftist thug out, conservative in

Muy bien, compadres! Honduran voters lined up to vote for the conservative candidate.
Muy bien, compadres! Honduran voters lined up to vote for the conservative candidate.

Honduras held its long awaited presidential vote on Sunday. It’s estimated that an amazing 70% of eligible voters may have turned out.

Despite the fact that Barack Obama and the region’s leftist dictators supported legally ousted former President Manuel Zelaya, the conservative candidate handily won the election.

Here’s how the Wall Street Journal reports the story:

Neither of the two men claiming to be president during the past five months – Mr. Zelaya and interim President Roberto Micheletti – were on the ballot.

Instead, Hondurans picked between Mr. Lobo of the conservative National Party and Elvin Santos of the Liberal Party – to which both Mr. Zelaya and Mr. Micheletti belong.

Voters were expected to punish the Liberal Party for the crisis and hand power to Mr. Lobo, who was narrowly beat by Mr. Zelaya four years ago.

“It’s going to be Pepe this time,” said Higenio Garcia Ponce, 74, an agricultural laborer who said he had just voted for Mr. Lobo. “There was a rupture in the Liberal Party over what happened with Zelaya.”

We love the words “Voters were expected to punish the liberal party” and predict that they will be repeated here in 2010. And if we’re all lucky, again in 2012.

The 7-year old at the center of a tragic California child custody case

A seven-year old boy found himself at the center of a Alameda County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with California child custody laws and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he revealed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Oakland Raiders, whom the boy firmly believes are incapable of beating anyone.

NOTE: The staff and management of IHateTheMedia.com regrets this cheap deception. But it’s a funny damn joke that seemed all too believable.

New scientific method: Global warming scientist threatens to “beat the crap” out of dissenter

“Next time I see Pat Michaels at a scientific meeting, I’ll be tempted to beat the crap out of him.” So says one of the now infamous global warming emails.

So what does CATO Institute scientist Michaels have to say about that? Stuart Varney interviews him to find out. Then, just for good measure, Varney makes Ben Weiss of the Center for American Progress look foolish.

Correction: Weiss makes himself look foolish.

Chris Matthews: The economy’s in the news today, and Congress is considering a minimum wage increase. Live by satellite to talk about, Sen. Harry Reid in Washington. How about it, Sen. Reid, is this the right move during the worst recession since the 1930s?
Harry Reid: Look, if we’re going to get this economy back on track, we have to get more money in the pockets of hard working…

(Talking over each other so that neither is intelligible)

Chris Matthews: Senator, let me finish. My forehead, my rules. Let’s go to Los Angeles. Big actor, played the father in “That 70s Show,” Kurtwood Smith. How’s it going, Kurtwood?

How many cows died to cover the First Lady's lovely thighs?

The Most Glamorous First Lady in History just placed an order for two outrageously expensive pairs of custom-made, high fashion boots — one pair of flat black boots and another pair of calf-length boots in beige buckskin — from French designer Robert Clergerie.

The First Lady must be getting ready for another appearance at a charity food bank and the $540 pair of Lanvin tennis shoes she wore last year are undoubtedly completely worn out by now.

Of course, outrageously expensive clothing was not part of her image during the presidential campaign. Back then, the media helped created the fiction that she regularly sported affordable sweaters carefully selected at J. Crew and reasonably-priced Anne Klein dresses purchased with pennies scrimped and saved from her meager household budget.

The price of Empress Michelle’s new shoes hasn’t been revealed. But we are willing to guarantee that it’s more than you paid for your last pair of shoes. Maybe even more than your last house payment.

Obama cabinet has less “real world” experience than any administration in history

Team Obama comes from an insulated world of professorial tenure and union job security. They’ve never hired anyone. They’ve never fired anyone. They’ve never had to deal with profits and losses. They’ve never had to lose a minute’s sleep worrying about paying the rent or making payroll.

obama-team-private-sector

No wonder the economy is such a mess. President Obama has put together a team of Ivy League eggheads with no experience in the real world.

Here’s how the American Enterprise Institute explains it:

A friend sends along the following chart from a J.P. Morgan research report. It examines the prior private sector experience of the cabinet officials since 1900 that one might expect a president to turn to in seeking advice about helping the economy. It includes secretaries of State, Commerce, Treasury, Agriculture, Interior, Labor, Transportation, Energy, and Housing & Urban Development, and excludes Postmaster General, Navy, War, Health, Education & Welfare, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security—432 cabinet members in all.

When one considers that public sector employment has ranged since the 1950s at between 15 percent and 19 percent of the population, the makeup of the current cabinet—over 90 percent of its prior experience was in the public sector—is remarkable.

And here’s how Jimi Hendrix explains it:

It’s frightening. Truly frightening. Team Obama comes from an insulated world of professorial tenure and union job security. They’ve never hired anyone. They’ve never fired anyone. They’ve never had to deal with profits and losses. They’ve never had to lose a minute’s sleep worrying about paying the rent or making payroll.

And it shows.

Bad news for Murdoch haters: Fox dominates cable ratings, now Fox TV expected to win November ratings

Not only does Fox News continue to dominate the cable news ratings, but now, for the first time in history, Fox Television is expected to win the important November ratings.

Rupert Murdoch has plenty of reasons to smile.
Rupert Murdoch has plenty of reasons to smile.

That hideous sound you hear is Keith Olbermann gnashing his teeth over nemesis Rupert Murdoch’s remarkable success.

Not only does Fox News continue to dominate the cable news ratings, but now, for the first time in history, Fox Television is expected to win the important November ratings.

We’ll step aside and let The Live Feed give you the details:

Thanks to a heavily viewed World Series and the network’s most stable fall lineup in years, Fox is averaging a 3.5 adult demo rating as of Wednesday afternoon.

Fox is up 17% from its November sweeps period last year in the advertiser-coveted adult demographic and is the only major broadcast network to post a gain. With viewing levels down 6% from last year, ABC is in second place with 3.2 (-9%). CBS is third with 3.0 (-12%). NBC is fourth with 2.6 (-16%) and the CW has a 1.2 (+9%). ABC would come out on top if sports programming were excluded. Fox previously tied NBC to win November sweeps in 2001, but has never won the outright.

They said Rupert Murdoch was crazy when he started a fourth television network to challenge ABC, CBS and NBC. Then history repeated itself and they said he was crazy again when he started a cable news network to challenge CNN.

Crazy, you might say, like a Fox.

What does the global warming hockey stick look like when you don’t “hide the decline?”

Michael Mann’s famous “hockey stick” global warming graph is discredited an dhere’s how it looks without his “fiddling.”

global warming hockey stick

briffa_recon

Despite the fact that Penn State professor Michael Mann’s famous “hockey stick” graph was long ago discredited, it still continues to be cited in study after study. In fact, it’s still the basis for the IPCC’s global warming hysteria.

Unfortunately, there’s a damning comment in one of the ClimateGate emails that says: “I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.”

What does that mean? Well, here are two graphs that demonstrate the results of that “trick.” The top one shows Michael Mann’s original “hockey stick” chart complete with his tricks that hide the decline. The bottom one, known as the Briffa Reconstruction, removes the tricks and shows that global warming is, in fact, global cooling.

From now on, let’s just refer to it as “Mann-made” global warming.

We’re not sure what’s worse about this video clip. Was it Joy Behar questioning the hidden racist meaning in the term “Black Friday” or Whoppi Goldberg revealing that she was “going commando”?

Here. Read the dialogue while we recover from that thought.

Goldberg: Oh, hello and welcome to ‘The View.’ Today is Black Friday, all day long. And I’m going to stay black all day because of it.

Behar: Isn’t it a little racist to call it Black Friday?

Goldberg: Well, I would have called it African American Friday, but that’s taking something away from it.

Behar: But there’s a negative connotation to it? Or does it mean something else?

Goldberg: No, it’s like when you make all the money – you’re in the black.

Behar: So it’s positive?

Goldberg: Yeah. It’s in the black, so it’s a huge great thing.

Behar: A lot of times, like blackmail is negative, black sheep.

Goldberg: Black people.

Behar: No, not black people.

Goldberg: But it used to be, it used to be.

Believe it or not, that was the intellectual part of the conversation. It degenerated from there. Rapidly.
