We'd guess that Nancy Pelosi wants plastic surgery to be covered under ObamaCare
Nancy Pelosi recently said “Insurance companies are out there in full force, carpet bombing, shock and awe against a public option.” She might have added, “And throwing me a $2,500 a plate fundraiser.”
Steve Elmendorf, a registered lobbyist for UnitedHealth, is hosting the fundraiser at his palatial home.
Odd, isn’t it, that everyday Americans opposed to the health care program are called insurance company lackeys, Nazis, un-American and assholes. (Oh, wait. That last one came from the communist who got fired, so it shouldn’t be counted against Nancy).
So let’s make one thing clear: when you have a $2,500 a plate fundraiser thrown for you by the same people that you vilify on a daily basis, you are not an asshole.

Please consider the myth of British superiority officially debunked.
A misguided gaggle of global warming harpies dressed as suffragettes dumped a pile of horse manure in the driveway of a British TV host Jeremy Clarkson to protest vehicle emissions.
Use a little horse sense, ladies, use a little horse sense.
A misguided gaggle of global warming harpies dressed as suffragettes dumped a pile of horse manure in the driveway of a British TV host Jeremy Clarkson to protest vehicle emissions.
Six women stood by the dung in the drive of his home in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, with a sign that read: “This is what you’re landing us in.”
The protesters from direct action group Climate Rush said they were being as “blasé as him” about emissions.
Fact is, the suffragettes have the whole story backwards. If it weren’t for the internal combustion engine, the world would be awash in horse manure. Just imagine the horror of the eco-wackos if six billion people rode horses and their manure was hip deep in every city around the world.
The same wackos would be protesting horses and demanding that the government subsidize the development of the internatl combustion engine.

A crazy theory is advanced in “A President was killed the last time right-wing hatred ran wild like this,” an article written by Eric Boehlert at Media Matters.
Aha! Kennedy's assassination was caused by the Illuminati. Or Barry Goldwater. Or some kind of right wing extremists.
A new theory claims Lee Harvey Oswald wasn’t responsible for the assassination of JFK. Neither was LBJ nor Cuba nor the unions nor the Mob. No, it was caused by “right wing hatred running wild.”
This theory is advanced in “A President was killed the last time right-wing hatred ran wild like this,” an article written by Eric Boehlert at Media Matters.
Boehlert draws heavily on his experiences in the 1960s which, we assume, may have included ingesting numerous mind-altering substances.
“I’ve been thinking a lot of Kennedy and Dallas as I’ve watched the increasingly violent rhetorical attacks on Obama be unfurled,” Boehlert says, “as Americans yank their kids out of class in order to save them from being exposed to the President of the United States who only wanted to urge them to excel in the classroom. And as unvarnished hate and name-calling passed for health care ‘debate’ this summer.”
“The radical right, aided by a GOP Noise Machine that positively dwarfs what existed in 1963, has turned demonizing Obama–making him into a vile object of disgust–into a crusade,” he continues. “It’s a demented national jihad, the likes of which this country has not seen in modern times.”
Unfortunately for Boehlert, all the individuals and groups suspected in the Kennedy assassination were of the leftist variety. Oswald was an communist wannabe. LBJ was liberal. Cuba was and is communist. And union’s? Pretty much leftists.
So pardon us if we’re confused as hell by Boehlerts’ theory.
But, then, we’re guessing that he’s confused, too.
Imagine that you’re speaking in front of a room packed with people who had paid their hard-earned money to hear what you had to say. Now imagine that a couple TV networks decided that they should do live reports from that room while you’re speaking.
Here’s proof that arrogance is in the media’s DNA.
Imagine that you’re speaking in front of a room packed with people who had paid their hard-earned money to hear what you had to say. Now imagine that a couple TV networks decided that they should do live reports from that room while you’re speaking.
That’s exactly what happened at this week’s Values Voters Summit. MSNBC and Fox sent reporters to event and they both somehow got the impression that they were the story.
When people interrupted the live broadcasts to ask the reporters to quiet down and show a little respect for the speakers, the reporters were offended. As were the anchors.
Yup, we hate the media. The left wing media and the right wing media.
This short video clip demonstrates that the lovely and charming Ms. Garofalo may own the smartest dog in the world. The pooch manages to do to Garofalo exactly what she’s been doing to conservatives.

Please note that this may be the first time in history that the words “Garofalo” and “dog” have been used in the same sentence while referring to different things.
The Today Show can’t find time to report on the ACORN scandal, but manages to track down and interview – get this – the ex-neighbor of suspected Yale killer Raymond Clark.
Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. For example, the Today Show can’t find time to report on the ACORN scandal, but manages to track down and interview – get this – the ex-neighbor of suspected Yale killer Raymond Clark.
Turns out the woman didn’t really know Raymond Clark. But she knows he had dogs. And he tried to stare her down. And he yelled at her kids once. And he was controlling with his girlfriend. And stuff. But that doesn’t mean he’s guilty or anything.
By the end of this idiotic interview, Viera looks as if she’d give anything for the chance to talk about ACORN’s pimps and prostitutes.

President Obama hit ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday as part of his Talk Tour 2009. Host George Stephanopoulos actually had the nerve to challenge the President. No, seriously, he did.
Stephanopoulos took the obvious position that a mandate forcing individuals to obtain health insurance coverage is a tax.
Stephanopoulos: That may be, but it’s still a tax increase.
Obama: No. That’s not true, George. The… ?for us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it’s saying is, is that we’re not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore than the fact that… right now everybody in America, just about, has to get auto insurance. Nobody considers that a tax increase. People say to themselves, that is a fair way to make sure that if you hit my car, that I’m not covering all the costs.
Stephanopoulos: But it may be fair, it may be good public policy…
Obama: No, but… but, George, you… you can’t just make up that language and decide that that’s called a tax increase. Any…
The One now believes he is The Only One who can save his floundering socialist healthcare plan. So he showed up on five networks — ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN plus Spanish-language Univision — on Sunday to pitch his leftist heart out.

Of course, the Greatest President In History did not appear on Fox Sunday, automatically eliminating himself for consideration for any future sequels to Profiles In Courage. In search of more friendly climes, he will continue his Talking Tour 2009 on Monday’s David Letterman Show.
According to Martha Joynt Kumar, a political scientist at Towson University in Maryland, Barack Obama has been one very busy President. Oh, not busy doing the actual work of a President, but busy talking. Always talking. By the time the sun sets on Sunday, he will have done 124 separate interviews during his short presidency. One hundred twenty-four.
In contrast, George Bush had done only 40 interviews and Bill Clinton had done 46 at this same point in their presidencies.
We hope ObamaCare covers Presidential Appearance Fatigue Syndrome (PAFS), because we are really getting tired of seeing this guy on televison.
What possessed Time magazine to publish a cover story titled “Mad Man: Is Glenn Beck bad for America?” The magazine, it seems, had a bit of trouble reconciling the Glenn Beck of 2008 with the Glenn Beck of 2009. Although his listeners and viewers probably don’t.

The magazine, it seems, had a bit of trouble reconciling the Glenn Beck of 2008 with the Glenn Beck of 2009. Although his listeners and viewers probably don’t.
Last year, shortly after the election, Beck spoke with TIME’s Kate Pickert, and he didn’t sound very scared back then. Of Obama’s early personnel decisions, he said, “I think so far he’s chosen wisely.” Of his feelings about the President: “I am not an Obama fan, but I am a fan of our country … He is my President, and we must have him succeed. If he fails, we all fail.” Of the Democratic Party: “I don’t know personally a single Democrat who is a dope-smoking hippie that wants to turn us into Soviet Russia.” Of the civic duty to trust: “We’ve got to pull together, because we are facing dark, dark times. I don’t trust a single weasel in Washington. I don’t care what party they’re from. But unless we trust each other, we’re not going to make it.”
What’s the mystery, Time? It sounds a lot like what he says on his show today.
In fact, when a lot of people were extremely unhappy with Obama’s victory and were preaching hatred, Glenn Beck was a class act, urging restraint. Just one of those annoying “fact” thingies that Time couldn’t quite squeeze into its four-page article.
It should be noted that Time ran a close race with Newsweek in the last year to determine which publication could kiss the Barack Obama’s ass more thoroughly. Time squeaked out a narrow win by pasting the President’s mug on it’s cover 14 times compared to Newsweek’s even dozen.
Rumor has it that the magazine considered changing its name to The “O” but that was taken. The One just sounded a bit pretentious even for a publication that’s really pretentious. And “Full of Crap” though honest, just wouldn’t sell.
Looks like they’re stuck with Time.
What did wishy washy John McCain think of Jimmy Carter saying any animosity expressed toward Obama is racist. “It seems to me that President Carter has earned his place as if not the worst president in history, the worst president of the 20th Century.”
What did wishy washy John McCain think of Jimmy Carter saying any animosity expressed toward Obama is racist.
“I’m deeply disturbed by those accusations because it’s an unfair and untrue commentary on the American people and for them to exercise their God-given right to disagree with this administration. It seems to me that President Carter has earned his place as if not the worst president in history, the worst president of the 20th Century.”
Hard to believe we finally agree with the man who has earned his place as if not the worst presidential candidate in history, the worst presidential candidate of the 20th Century.
Director and “Biggest Loser” candidate Michael Moore is awfully damn happy with himself over his latest movie. Michael Moore has a big opening. His film didn't have such a big opening.
Director and “Biggest Loser” candidate Michael Moore is awfully damn happy with himself over his latest movie.
Writing in Huffington Post, Moore said “Having spent the last year and a half living pretty much under the radar and quietly putting together this movie for you, it is heartening, to say the least, to read the early reviews where Time Magazine called it ‘Moore’s magnum opus,’ the Los Angeles Times has declared it my ‘most controversial film yet,’ and Variety has said that Capitalism: A Love Story is ‘one of Moore’s best films.’ Wow. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect, considering this film is an all-out assault against the racket polite people like to call ‘Wall Street.'”
Let’s see. Since Moore’s remarks that “Capitalism is both un-Christian and un-American, an evil that deserves not regulation but elimination,” we can kind of guess where this movie is going.
The Independent Eye, a blog committed to independent film review bemoans the fact that there are no conservative reviews of the film. We can’t understand why conservatives are not flocking to see it either, but we think it may have something to do with the fact that Moore is a fat idiot and his movies blow chunks.
Using his typical 1/4 truth documentary style, Moore again focuses on the misery of some to make his point (and his profits).
Now if he could just spare us the misery of another Michael Moore movie.
The public’s assessment of the accuracy of news stories is now at its lowest level in more than two decades of Pew Research surveys, and Americans’ views of media bias and independence now match previous lows.
As a result of it’s latest survey, Pew Research concludes that Americans don’t trust the press. Not exactly a man bites dog story.
Here’s how Pew reports it:
The public’s assessment of the accuracy of news stories is now at its lowest level in more than two decades of Pew Research surveys, and Americans’ views of media bias and independence now match previous lows.
Just 29% of Americans say that news organizations generally get the facts straight, while 63% say that news stories are often inaccurate. In the initial survey in this series about the news media’s performance in 1985, 55% said news stories were accurate while 34% said they were inaccurate. That percentage had fallen sharply by the late 1990s and has remained low over the last decade.
Similarly, only about a quarter (26%) now say that news organizations are careful that their reporting is not politically biased, compared with 60% who say news organizations are politically biased. And the percentages saying that news organizations are independent of powerful people and organizations (20%) or are willing to admit their mistakes (21%) now also match all-time lows.
Peter Davies, the new mayor of Doncaster, England has been making news. And for all the right reasons. He;s cut his salary, abolished diversity, disregards environmentalism{ everything we want in a mayor.
Please move to our town, Mayor Davies
Peter Davies, the new mayor of Doncaster, England has been making news. And for all the right reasons.
Here’s how the Telegraph UK reports it:
In his first week in office he cut his own salary from £73,000 to £30,000, which is putting one’s money where one’s mouth is. He also scrapped the mayoral limousine. He is ending Doncaster’s twinning with five towns around the world, an arrangement which he describes as “just for people to fly off and have a binge at the council’s expense”. He intends now to reduce (that’s right, reduce) council tax by 3 per cent this year.
The “diversity” portfolio has been abolished from the council’s cabinet. From next year no more funding will be given to the town’s “Gay Pride” event, on the grounds that people do not need to parade their sexuality, whatever it may be, at taxpayers’ expense. Black History Month, International Women’s Day and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month are similarly destined to become history.
Council funding of translation services for immigrants has been scrapped because he believes incomers should take the trouble to learn English. Officials have been ordered to abandon bureaucratic gobbledegook language. Davies is saving the taxpayers £80,000 by disaffiliating from the pointless Local Government Association and the Local Government Information Unit. He aims to abolish all non-jobs on the council, as epitomised by “community cohesion officers”. He is taking advice from the Taxpayers’ Alliance and the Campaign Against Political Correctness.
…He disregards all “green claptrap”, is creating more parking spaces to encourage traffic in the town for the benefit of business (”I’m not green and I’m not conned by global warming”). He has asked the Electoral Commission to reduce the number of Doncaster’s councillors from 63 to 21 (”If Pittsburgh can manage with nine councillors, why do we need 63?”).
IHateTheMedia.com is headquartered in a county that has a $60,000 per year “fat consultant” on the payroll.
If Mayor Davies were in charge, we have a feeling he would cut the fat. And the fat consultant.

Well, what the hell. The President can’t be expected to know the names of any Republicans. After all, he’s never really met or spoken to any of them. Which may explain why the President thought Alabama Congressman Spencer Bachus’ first name is Sheldon.
“We’ve worked closely with leaders in the Senate and the House,” President Obama said, “including not only Barney [Frank], but also Senators Chris Dodd and Richard Shelby and Barney is already working with his counterpart, Sheldon Bachus.”

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer appeared on Celebrity Jeopardy last night and proved once and for all that, yes, he is that stupid. The thin veneer of intellectual superiority was stripped away and the know-it-all Blitzer proved he knew nothing when he competed against actress Dana Delaney and comedian Andy Richter.
To be blunt, Blitzer sucked. He was an ignoramus. He embarrassed his friends, his family, his employers, short people, bearded people, and fellow clueless liberals.
Richter won the game with an incredible $68,000 total. Delaney racked up an creditable $9,300. But Wolf’s final score was -$4800. Yes, negative $4,800.
It’s very difficult for a Jeopardy contestant to come up enough wrong answers to go that far in the hole. It takes great effort and even greater ignorance.
Where’s that damn Teleprompter when it’s really needed?
“You mean to tell me that two kids from the cast of High School Musical III broke this story with a video camera and their grandmother’s chinchilla coat,” Stewart said, “and you’ve got nothing?”
ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson said the ACORN stings are better suited for “the cables,” but Jon Stewart disagrees.
“You mean to tell me that two kids from the cast of High School Musical III broke this story with a video camera and their grandmother’s chinchilla coat,” Stewart said, “and you’ve got nothing?”
What do you know. We agree with the smarmy, smirking Stewart for once.

Ladies, that heat you’re feeling isn’t global warming, it’s your brand new eco-vibrator.
We really don’t want to touch this story, so we’ll just quote the Austrian Times:
Green fans are getting a buzz out of a new hand-cranked vibrator that makers say could help save the planet.
The eco-sex toy – dubbed the “Earth Angel” – uses a small wind-up handle to power up rechargeable batteries inside the casing. It had originally been planned as a sex aid for the Third World where batteries and electricity supplies are unreliable.
But the Irish manufacturers Camden Enterprises have been swamped with interest from Green followers after displaying the vibrator at the Ars Electronica fair in Linz, Upper Austria, this week.
“We wanted to produce an environmentally friendly sex toy that appealed to all consumers regardless of gender, age or ethnicity.
“It has been in its development stage for the past two years and we are excited that our vision has become reality,” said a spokesman.

Media Matters is apparently upset with the mainstream media’s coverage of President Obama recent speech to that Joint Session of Congress.
“NBC featured nearly twice as much coverage of Wilson as Obama,” they noted. “NBC’s Nightly News provided 3 minutes and 2 seconds of coverage of Obama’s September 9 joint address to Congress, compared to almost twice as much coverage — 5 minutes and 47 seconds — of Wilson’s outburst during that address.”
NBC unfair to Obama? Now there’s a headline.
Media Matters even provided really cool charts that showed minute by minute coverage by the three main networks (ABC, NBC, CBS).
However, by our unscientific finger count, Media Matters had five front page stories focusing on Glenn Beck and none focused on The Greatest President In History.
We’re waiting for the angry statement from Obama accusing Media Matters of Glenn Beck bias. We won’t hold our breath.
“Obama spent a lot of time in his speech … demonizing insurance companies as cruel and money-hungry, while also calling for a law mandating the purchase of their product. Politicians have said similar things about, say, the tobacco industry. But so far as we know, no one has ever proposed forcing every American to smoke two packs a day.”
