Rall, author of “The Anti-American Manifesto”, finds himself ostracized by former comrades for being “too tough” in his criticism of President Obama. The poor fellow is having trouble finding work (join the club!)
Irony abounds in recent rantings by lefty cartoonist Ted Rall
Rall, author of “The Anti-American Manifesto”, finds himself ostracized by former comrades for being “too tough” in his criticism of President Obama. The poor fellow is having trouble finding work (join the club!) NOT because of Obama’s policies but because the editors he deals with are enmeshed in a “cult of personality” which reduced them to brain-dead “Obamabots”.
There's an upside to Obama's presidency: Cartoonist Ted Rall is unemployed
Rall dumps on pundit Kevin Drum whose slavish worship of the Golfer-in-Chief drives Ted to incivility:
“So what should I think about [the war in Libyan]?,” asks Kevin Drum in Mother Jones. “If it had been my call, I wouldn’t have gone into Libya. But the reason I voted for Obama in 2008 is because I trust his judgment. And not in any merely abstract way, either: I mean that if he and I were in a room and disagreed about some issue on which I had any doubt at all, I’d literally trust his judgment over my own. I think he’s smarter than me, better informed, better able to understand the consequences of his actions, and more farsighted.”
Mr. Drum, call your office. Someone found your brain in the break room.
Yikes. Sounds like whoever found Drum’s brain was nice enough to wash it before returning it.
Sorry, we’ve said the same thing for years while people like Rall laughed and called us “raaaaacists”.
So even though Ted is singing our song, we’re gonna plug our ears.
Our guess is that President Obama cancelled the Rapture with another one of his undisclosed executive orders. Here are our top ten reasons President Obama did it:
Well, another end of the world has come and gone. This time Harold Camping predicted the Rapture would occur on May 21, 2011 at 6 p.m. Eastern time.
And we’re still here. At least We at IHTM are still here. There’s a good chance we wouldn’t be on the short list of folks raptured up.
Harold Camping: Nuttier than Aunt Leota's fruitcake
Our guess is that President Obama cancelled the Rapture with another one of his undisclosed executive orders.
Here are our top ten reasons President Obama did it:
10. Too busy cooking up his own little Armageddon in Israel.
9. Listen. The world will end due to a range of problems associated with anthropological global warming. Got it? Good.
8. Hollywood called. They didn’t have time to prepare the necessary disaster movie.
7. This whole Rapture thing started during the Bush era!
6. Biden slept through the Rapture preparation meeting. Again.
5. Pre-Rapture golfing outing took a little longer than usual.
4. Thought Rapture was a street poet who extols the killing of police officers.
3. God did not clear this with Rapture Czar.
2. From sound of it, New Jerusalem will not need a community organizer.
We love Herman Cain. The former Godfather’s Pizza CEO announced Saturday that he is officially running for President of the United States. And he did it in front of a crowd of 15,000 rabid supporters.
We love Herman Cain. The former Godfather’s Pizza CEO announced Saturday that he is officially running for President of the United States. And he did it in front of a crowd of 15,000 rabid supporters.
He closed his speech by saying that when the votes are counted on Election Day in November 2012, and everyone wakes up the day after with Herman Cain as the new President, “We’ll all be able to say, ‘Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty this nation is free again.'”
The Hermanator’s our man. At least until Marco Rubio or Allen West or Chris Christie decide to run. Then we have a tough decision to make.
Actor John Lithgow joins Colbert to give a dramatic, verbatim reading of the Gingrich memo. It sounds like The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
Politicians can overcome scandal, but they can’t overcome ridicule. Think Dukakis in the tank or John Kerry in the clean suit. Once the public starts laughing at a politician instead of with him, it’s curtains.
Which brings us to the case of Newt Gingrich. As has been reported EVERYWHERE, Newt criticized Paul Ryan’s budget plan as right wing social engineering. All hell broke loose and after making feeble excuse after feeble excuse, Newt tried a new tactic – a press release condemning his accusers.
Unfortunately, the press release itself became an object of ridicule because it was so over the top, so floridly written.
We’ve never been fans of Stephen Colbert and Comedy Central’s Colbert Report. We just don’t find his schtick particularly amusing. That being said, this video is hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.
Actor John Lithgow joins Colbert to give a dramatic, verbatim reading of the Gingrich memo. It sounds like The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.
“Into the Valley of Death rode the 600.”
You can’t help but laugh. Not just at Lithgow’s reading of the press release, but at the absurdity of the press release itself.
John Kerry is emulating Carter by visiting other countries and then spouting off about his grand and self-aggrandizing accomplishments.
Get out of the way, President Obama. John Kerry is also following in the footsteps of Jimmy Carter. In Kerry’s case, he’s emulating Carter by visiting other countries and then spouting off about his grand and self-aggrandizing accomplishments.
"John Kerry, reporting for self-aggrandizing duty, sir."
This is not sitting well with the Secretary of State.
Jake Tapper reported Hillary’s displeasure on his blog at ABC News:
There appears to be a disconnect between what Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator John Kerry, D-MA, are saying about U.S. relations with Pakistan. Administration officials, and Secretary Clinton, don’t seem particularly pleased by his recent effort in Islamabad.
Yesterday during his visit there Kerry touted that relations between Washington and Islamabad had been “re-set” after the surprise US Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden on Pakistani soil.
Yet today, when asked whether US-Pakistan relations had actually turned the corner, Clinton said there was a long way to go.
“We are working very hard to have an understanding with our counterparts in Pakistan about the best way forward,” she said. “There are important concerns and many questions that have to be addressed and worked through.”
In fact, Clinton made it clear that Kerry didn’t speak for the administration, offering perhaps a pointed dig at the fact that Kerry issued a joint statement with Pakistani officials that was billed as a joint US-Pakistan statement (administration officials insist this was Kerry freelancing).
Remember just a few short months ago when Kerry was supposedly being groomed as Hillary’s replacement as Secretary of State?
Now he’s called a freelancer. A loose cannon. A gigolo who marries wealthy women for their money.
Well, actually, that last one had nothing to do with this story, but we always like to throw it in.
Our modest, self-effacing President went to CIA headquarters on Friday to praise the organization for its work in the bin Laden raid.
Our modest, self-effacing President went to CIA headquarters on Friday to praise the organization for its work in the bin Laden raid.
Listening to his speech, one might have come away with the mistaken impression that he had personally analyzed the data, flown the helicopter into Bin Laden’s compound, lead the SEAL team into the house, and personally shot the man.
While supposedly praising others, he said the word “I” 35 times.
For example: “I have never been more proud or more confident in you than I am today — not just because this extraordinary success, but because it reminds us of who we are as a people and as a nation. You reminded us that when we Americans set our mind to something, when we are focused and when we are working together, when we’re not worried about who’s getting the credit and when we stay true to our values, even if it takes years, there is nothing we cannot do.”
For a guy who’s not worried about who gets the credit, he sure seems interested in who gets the credit.
Considering the price of gas you might assume that an Obama gas station is a protest against the President’s energy policies. But, no, the guy who owns the station means it as a tribute to the President.
Considering the price of gas you might assume that an Obama gas station is a protest against the President’s energy policies (or anti-energy policies, if you prefer).
But, no, the guy who owns the station means it as a tribute to the President.
Obama Gas, which is totally unrelated to Biden Gasbag
Live5News.com fills your tank with the facts:
A gas station on Columbia’s North Main Street has been renamed and redecorated after President Obama.
Two gas stations sit at the corner of Columbia’s North Main Street and Prescott Road, the El Cheapo and another station with a new name — Obama.
“I see more people come in excited with the name,” said owner Sam Alhanik, who got the idea from a friend who created an Obama Gas Station in Michigan.
Alhanik has only owned this station for two months. Although born in Yemen, he says he supports America’s president. “It’s the first president of black people,” he said. “It’s our president. We like him.”
He says he’s seen a boom in business since changing the name, one that has sparked quite the competition with the station across the street. Before our interview, the price at the Obama station was $3.59 for a gallon of regular. The price at El Cheapo $3.54.
When we mentioned the difference during our interview, Alhanik’s cousin lowered the price to $3.53. Just seconds later, the price at the El Cheapo fell too.
“That’s the business,” said Alhanik. “I don’t want to lose everything. It’s a competition.”
Alhanik sells a product that this President abhors. He makes a couple cents per gallon while the government makes far more. If he sells too many gallons the President will call him rich, confiscate what he’s earned and redistribute it to others.
If only oppressed, downtrodden American women had the kind of equal rights that Muslim women have. Why, that would be a perfect world.
If only oppressed, downtrodden American women had the kind of equal rights that Muslim women have. Why, that would be a perfect world. A heaven on earth. A paradise where … what’s that? They get to blow themselves up? Never mind.
Congratulations, Palestinian women! You live in a society where you're considered equal to lunatics!
MEMRI has the explosive details:
Hamas Minister of Women’s Affairs Jamila Al-Shanti: “Palestinian society is, by nature, a society of resistance. Resistance does not mean only the bearing of arms. The people who aid those who bear arms are sometimes even stronger than them. The [Palestinian] woman is the wife of a resistance fighter, or the mother of resistance fighters, or else she herself is on the frontline, or she opens her home to resistance fighters. She is capable of doing everything. During the incursions [into Gaza], the women fought in every way possible. They confronted the tanks, they confronted the Zionist enemy.
“All means of resistance are available to women. In addition, we have a long list of female martyrdom-seekers. Need I say more? If you do the math, the number of male martyrdom-seekers is twice the number of female martyrdom-seekers. So the number of female martyrdom seekers is hardly insignificant.
“What does the number of martyrdom women tell us? It means that the women have not left the dangerous places. The women who live along the border did not leave their homes. They say: ‘The resistance is here. If I leave, the Zionist enemy will be able to isolate the resistance fighters.’ So the women remained in their homes, and serve as shields for these fighters.
“Resistance consists of many things, one of which is the bearing of arms – and women bear arms as well. The women are at the service of the military operations and the resistance. There is no realm to which they are denied entry.”
But what about abortions? Can Palestinian women get unrestricted abortions? Because that’s the true sign of an advanced society.
Oh, wait. We forgot that they also send children out as suicide bombers.
You’ve probably seen polls in the past that peg President Obama’s approval in Israel in the mid-single digits. He may have lost a few more points with his latest Middle East speech on Thursday.

Yassar Arafat in a nicer suit
The Jerusalem Post has the particulars:
Knesset members on the Right expressed outrage on Thursday night at US President Barack Obama’s call for the creation of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps in an exchange of territory for security.
They called upon Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to reject Obama’s plan when he meets with him on Friday in Washington.
“Barack Hussein Obama adopted the staged plan for Israel’s destruction of Yasser Arafat, and he is trying to force it on our prime minister,” said Likud MK Danny Danon. “All that was new in the speech was that he called for Israel to return to 1967 borders without solving the crisis. Netanyahu has only one option: To tell Obama forget about it.”
National Union MK Michael Ben-Ari also slammed Obama’s speech, calling it “a landmine with pretty wrapping.”
Environment Minister Gilad Erdan, who as a minister close to Netanyahu must be more diplomatic, complained on Channel 2 that according to Obama’s approach, the Palestinians would receive their demands on borders before negotiations begin.
“Once they have everything from the start, they have no reason to make any concessions, ”Erdan said.
Obama says he wants the two sides to compromise. Unfortunately, when one side wants to exterminate the other side, what’s the compromise? Exterminating every other Israeli?
Harry Reid noted of Goodwin Liu after meeting with him, “The court of appeals is where law is made, and we need the finest minds in the world for that.”
Goodwin Liu was nominated for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals by President Obama. Liu’s such an extremist that even a considerable number of Democrats opposed the appointment. As a result, Liu’s nomination went down in flames on Wednesday.
The majority leader in the United States Senate doesn't understand what his duties are
Let’s go to Senate majority leader Harry Reid for a comment via NetRight Daily:
Liu was nominated by Obama in 2010 and again in 2011for a seat on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Senate Judiciary Committee had approved him by a vote of 10-8. Had Liu been confirmed by the Senate, many expect that he would have eventually been promoted to the Supreme Court.
As Harry Reid noted of Goodwin Liu after meeting with him, “The court of appeals is where law is made, and we need the finest minds in the world for that.”
We’re looking for volunteers. Who’d like to tell Harry that the courts are supposed to interpret the law and the legislature is supposed to make it?
You know, the legislature. The part of the government in which Harry Freakin’ Reid has served for 25 years.
Maybe it’s just us, but we’d have a lot more confidence in someone who wants to fundamentally change America if he were willing to put his money where his mouth is.
Maybe it’s just us, but we’d have a lot more confidence in someone who wants to fundamentally change America if he were willing to put his money where his mouth is.
We learned earlier this week that President Obama’s personal wealth has exploded in the last five years and that he now be worth as much as $15 million dollars. Those same financial disclosure forms show that he’s willing to make short-term investments in the American economy, but not long-term? Not so much.
Uh-oh. President Obama isn't making any long-term investments in the American economy.
CNS News has the speculative specifics:
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama own between $2.1 million and $10.25 million in U.S. Treasury securities, according to the president’s financial disclosure form released yesterday.
But all of that money is invested in short-term U.S. Treasury bills and intermediate-term U.S. Treasury notes. None is in long-term U.S. Treasury bonds.
By definition, according to the U.S. Treasury Department, Treasury “bills” mature in one year or less, Treasury “notes” mature in terms of 2 to 10 years, and Treasury “bonds” mature in 30 years.
U.S. Treasury bonds pay a higher interest rate than the shorter-term Treasury notes and bills, but they also carry a higher risk of their value being eroded by inflation.
…As listed on page 3 of the disclosure, the president and first lady own three blocs of U.S. Treasury securities. They own a bloc of short-term Treasury bills worth between $100,001 and $250,000 in a SEP/IRA. They own a much larger bloc of short-term Treasury bills worth between $1,000,001 and $5,000,000 that is not in an IRA. And they own a bloc of intermediate-term Treasury notes worth between $1,000,001 and $5,000,000.
Warren Buffett always says, “Invest in what you know.” It seems clear that Barack Obama knows his policies are long-term losers.
Leroy Fick of Bay County admitted he still swipes the [food stamp] electronic card at stores nearly a year after winning a two million dollar lottery.
You hear those occasional stories about people who win the lottery and somehow blow all the money and you think, “Those people are morons.” When you hear this story you’re going to say, “No, we’re the morons.”
We'll probably be called namists, but isn't this something you'd expect from someone named Leroy Fick?
The Associated Press has the really aggravating details:
Leroy Fick of Bay County admitted he still swipes the [food stamp] electronic card at stores, nearly a year after winning a jackpot on “Make Me Rich!” He told WNEM-TV in Saginaw that more than half the prize went to taxes.
Fick says the Department of Human Services told him he could continue to use the card, which is paid with tax dollars. He told WNEM: “If you’re going to … try to make me feel bad, you aren’t going to do it.”
The TV station says people have seen Fick driving a new Audi convertible. Messages seeking comment were left with his attorney and the state today.
Realizing that his words had provided Democrats with advertising ammunition against Ryan and Republicans, Newt tried to redeem himself by making the dumbest single statement a politician has ever made.
We’re running out of superlatives for Newt Gingrich.
First he set the record for fastest implosion of a presidential campaign by attacking Paul Ryan’s deficit plan two days after declaring his candidacy.
Then, realizing that his words had provided Democrats with advertising ammunition against Ryan and Republicans, he tried to redeem himself by making the dumbest single statement a politician has ever made.
Newt actually said, “Any ad which quotes what I said Sunday is a falsehood.”
In other words, “Who you gonna believe? Me or your lyin’ ears?”
CNN loves the new Arnold Schwarzenegger story. On Tuesday night it covered the former California governor’s paternity scandal at least once every hour.
CNN loves the new Arnold Schwarzenegger story. On Tuesday night it covered the former California governor’s paternity scandal at least once every hour.
Well, that’s not quite accurate. We should have said “at least once every hour with the notable exception of one hour.”
The reason Eliot Spitzer doesn't talk about Arnold Schwarzenegger's sex scandal
NewsBusters delivers the specifics:
During its 5 p.m.-12 a.m. EDT coverage, CNN reported the story every hour except during the 8 p.m. EDT slot – the prime-time show In the Arena with Eliot Spitzer. Spitzer made no mention of the story.
Spitzer was embroiled in a scandal of his own just three years ago as governor of New York. A federal wiretap linked him to a high-end prostitution ring, and he resigned his office abruptly after the news was made public…
Spitzer did find time to offer extensive coverage of IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s rape allegations. He also hosted for a sympathetic interview the CEO of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, Rick Welts, who has publicly revealed that he is gay.
Our best guess? Spitzer is offended that he had to pay for it, but Arnold didn’t.
Leftist eco-wackos love to strip naked in the belief that people who don’t yet believe in their cause will suddenly change their minds when exposed to fat, ugly, protesting bodies.
We have nothing against nudity. In fact, we kind of like it. Some of our fondest memories involve nudity.
That being said, not one of those fond memories involves a protest of any sort. No, we’ve given it considerable thought and nary a nude moment in our lives has had anything to do with protesting.
Leftist eco-wackos on the other hand, love to strip naked in the belief that people who don’t yet believe in their cause will suddenly change their minds when exposed to fat, ugly, protesting bodies. It’s a strange theory, yet PETA lunatics, global warming lunatics, supporters of whatever leftist cause you want to name have bared it all for the cameras at one time or another.
Which brings us to this story from South Carolina:
An artistic mash-up of flesh and bark drew gasps and a chorus of police sirens Saturday at an impromptu photo shoot beneath the majestic canopy of the Angel Oak.
Some 25 people disrobed and posed around the wide, gnarled trunk of the ancient oak as California-based photographer Jack Gescheidt and a documentary film crew recorded the moment in celebration of the tree, which is rumored to be 1,400 years old.
The guerrilla photo shoot was designed to draw attention to the oak’s grandeur and raise concerns about a developer’s plans to build apartments and shops on a larger tract adjacent to the small Johns Island park where the tree lives…
Within three minutes, Charleston police rushed in with sirens blaring and blue lights flashing. The volunteer models were busy hoisting their drawers at that point. They could have taken their time. They were in for long wait as police tried to decide what to do with them. All participants and photographers were detained by police for two hours while they investigated. No charges were filed…
Gescheidt had no permit for the shoot, which was part of his TreeSpirit Project, a collection of photographs featuring naked humans posing vulnerably around trees to call attention to their importance.
We have but one comment: We’ve never seen such a big tree with so many tiny roots.
Chris Matthews has always seemed to be lost in some sort of liberal lalaland, but it all came together on Tuesday night’s Hardball. That’s when he actually compared the President of the United States to Batman.
Chris Matthews is having trouble separating fiction and reality.
Not that this is anything new. He’s always seemed to be lost in some sort of liberal lalaland, but it all came together on Tuesday night’s Hardball. That’s when he actually compared the President of the United States to Batman.
He really did.
Matthews: Let me finish tonight with the Joker. Remember him? He was played by Jack Nicholson in that great “Batman” movie by Tim Burton. He was the key to the movie. Why? Because his dark world of malevolence and revenge set in contrast the goodwill, generosity and glamour of our hero. He was to the movie on the bad side what Batman was on the good. Batman stands on tall buildings looking for evil to be perpetrated, people to be saved. The Joker looks for ways to manipulate public opinion, interrupt the TV news, and bring his evil intentions and motives and instincts into reality. Maybe the President today is our Batman, trying to do good, a bit mysterious, a bit cool and technocratic, a bit removed from the world of emotions, but right, right there on the side of good, always using his brains and wit to look out for the people in trouble. Well, maybe he’s not that good.
You might view Matthews’ comments in a different light when you read what Wikipedia says about Batman:
Homosexual and pederastic interpretations have been part of the academic study of the Batman franchise since psychiatrist Fredric Wertham asserted in his 1954 book Seduction of the Innocent that “Batman stories are psychologically homosexual”. He claimed, “The Batman type of story may stimulate children to homosexual fantasies, of the nature of which they may be unconscious” and “Only someone ignorant of the fundamentals of psychiatry and of the psychopathology of sex can fail to realize a subtle atmosphere of homoeroticism which pervades the adventures of the mature ‘Batman’ and his young friend Robin.
Our best guess? Matthews fantasizes about Obama dressed in tights and a mask, six-pack abs rippling, a long dark cape rippling in the breeze. And he pictures himself as Robin, Batman’s young protégé, dressed in a colorful costume and performing whatever deeds his master wants done. If you know what we mean.
Suddenly, we understand why Matthews get a tingle up the leg every time he hears Obama speak.
Rep. Jeff Flake questioned NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman over a number of grants, including those to an international accordion festival and to the San Francisco Mime Troupe.
We really wish video was available of this clip, but if it’s out there, we can’t find it. Pity because this sounds like a classic.
Republican Congressman Jeff Flake went after Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment of the Arts, about federal money given to San Francisco mimes and to an international accordion festival.
Renowned mimes everywhere speak out against Jeff Flake. Oh, wait. They're mimes. Guess they won't be speaking out.
The Hill squeezes out the details of the accordion story:
“Those just kind of grants lend themselves to ridicule,” said Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) at a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. “These are a bit tough to justify…how can we justify these types of grants?”
Flake questioned NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman over a number of grants, including those to an international accordion festival and to the San Francisco Mime Troupe. Making grants like these “feeds the cynicism out there about everything we do,” Flake said.
Landesman responded that many of the programs that win NEA support could not exist without the help.
“The marketplace shouldn’t be the sole determinant of what is allowed to flourish,” Landesman said, adding that the renowned San Francisco Mime Troupe would likely not be able to survive solely on ticket sales.
No, of course, not. Some nameless, faceless bureaucrat with an overinflated sense of his artistic judgment should make that decision, Rocco.
Flake said he will do anything it takes to kill funding for the accordion festival, a statement that prompted Rep. Jose Serrano (D-N.Y.) to say that Flake will be getting hate mail from Polish folk musicians.
“The renowned San Francisco Mime Troupe”? We had no idea any mime troupe was renowned, but now that we know there’s one in San Francisco we shudder at the thought of the things they may mime.
UPDATE: We just found this video clip of the renowned San Francisco Mime Troupe and now we know why the Democrats want to fund them. The troupe performs a skit called Red State in which they make fun of Middle America and the group’s set appropriately features a red star. That being said, the clip does reveal why the renowned San Francisco Mime Troupe is so renowned – it is apparently the world’s most talkative mime group.

Here’s how Ace accurately described his weekly address:
It has to be frustrating to Captain Bullshit, to have to actually forward this sort of thing in a weekly address. “Hey, these gas prices, what the hell? We’d better put those speculators on a short leash, and cut those doggone subsidies and also maybe let em have a lease or two that I will never let them actually produce from.
But he said the words, damn it. And he sounded almost sincere. And that counts for something, doesn’t it?
We can’t even comprehend how this is even possible. How do 513 people cram themselves into two trucks? That seems a tad overcrowded even if they were very little people and very big trucks.
We can’t even comprehend how this is even possible. How do 513 people cram themselves into two trucks? That seems a tad overcrowded even if they were very little people and very big trucks. Perhaps there are some strict new Mexican carpooling rules we haven’t yet heard about.
Holy guacamole! 513 illegal aliens in two trucks?
My FOX NY tells the tale of the Mexican clown cars:
Police on Tuesday detained 513 undocumented migrants from Latin America and Asia who were crammed into two trucks bound for the United States, prosecutors in southeast Mexico said.
The migrants, from Latin America, Japan, China, India and Nepal, “were traveling in inhuman conditions” in the southeastern state of Chiapas, near the Guatemalan border, the local attorney general’s office said in a statement.
Police stopped the trucks, carrying 240 and 273 people, on the outskirts of state capital Tuxtla Gutierrez early Tuesday, after they accelerated through a vehicle scanner at a police checkpoint, the statement said.
Officers chased down the vehicles shortly afterward, it added.
Police detained the Mexican drivers of the two trucks, and the migrants were provided with aid and food, the statement said.
Since they had illegally crossed into Mexico we assume that “aid and food” means they were beaten within an inch of their lives and tossed in a squalid Mexican jail.
On the other hand, had they been Mexican citizens hoping to cross illegally into the United States, they probably would have been given a police escort to the American border, a nice warm snack and maps showing them how to get to San Diego.
This is just about as tough as an interview can get without the participants coming to blows.
Long-time conservative radio host Bill Bennett absolutely reams newly-announced Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich for coming out against Paul Ryan’s budget plan.
This is just about as tough as an interview can get without the participants coming to blows.
Long-time conservative radio host Bill Bennett absolutely reams newly-announced Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich for coming out against Paul Ryan’s budget plan.
We’re not saying Bennett gently chastised him. We’re not saying he scolded him. We’re not saying he expressed mild displeasure. We’re saying he took Gingrich to the woodshed and spanked his Georgia peaches.
In other words, this is about as much fun as a radio interview can be.
Has a presidential campaign ever gotten off to a rockier start?
President Obama has recently appointed a Golf Czar and major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective in May 2011.
Things we get in our email box. We just pass them along to you.
President Obama has recently appointed a Golf Czar and major rule changes in the game of golf will become effective in May 2011. This is only a preview as the complete rule book (expect 2000 pages) is being rewritten as we speak. Here are a few of the changes.
Rule 237-A: All beer summits will be held at the 19th hole
Golfers with handicaps:
• below 10 will have their green fees increased by 35%.
• between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees.
• above 18 will get a $20 check each time they play.
The term “gimmie” will be changed to “entitlement” and will be used as follows:
• handicaps below 10, no entitlements.
• handicaps from 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts.
• handicaps above 18, if your ball is on green, no need to putt, just pick it up.
These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness and, most importantly, equality in scoring.
In addition, a player will be limited to a maximum of one birdie or six pars in any given 18-hole round.
Any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par.
Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player actually making the birdie or par, can that player begin to count his pars and birdies again. The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes, but the term “net score” will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps of 18 and above.
This is intended to “re-distribute” the success of winning by making sure that in every competition, the above 18 handicap players will post only “net score” against every other player’s gross score.
These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf.
Golf must be about Fairness. It should have nothing to do with ability, hard work, practice, and responsibility. This is the “right thing to do.”
Like we said, this just showed up in our mailbox. If you know who originally wrote it, let us know so we can give credit where credit is due.
Liberals have blamed the epidemic of honeybee deaths around the world on just about everything: global warming, pollution, Paul Ryan’s budget…now…
Liberals have blamed the epidemic of honeybee deaths around the world on just about everything: global warming, pollution, Paul Ryan’s budget…
Now it turns out it’s all caused by the proliferation of cell phone signals.
Honeybees are confused by cell phones signals. This may explain politicians, too.
Inhabit.com has the apian information:
Scientists may have found the cause of the world’s sudden dwindling population of bees – and cell phones may be to blame. Research conducted in Lausanne, Switzerland has shown that the signal from cell phones not only confuses bees, but also may lead to their death. Over 83 experiments have yielded the same results. With virtually most of the population of the United States (and the rest of the world) owning cell phones, the impact has been greatly noticeable.
What’s a good liberal to do? On one hand they want to give everyone free government cell phones from Safelink. On the other hand, cell phones are killing the honeybees.
That sound you hear is liberal heads exploding across the fruited plain.

should become a regular reader of Economic Collapse. Dot Net.
Some friends of ours (wink, wink) just started a new site called
Economic Collapse. They (wink, wink) would like to have you check it out and give your feedback.
They (wink, wink) are still working out the bugs and working on the design and just putting up a couple stories a day and it probably doesn’t look exactly like it will eventually look, but please do us a favor and check it out.
If you fear for the future, if you want to be prepared for the future, you might even become a regular reader.
They (wink, wink) would appreciate your thoughts.
And if you have a blog, they (wink, wink) would sure appreciate it if you would link to it.
For some time now the left has attempted to influence public thinking by introducing terms into the popular lexicon. We respond with some neologisms of our own.
For some time now the left has attempted to influence public thinking by introducing terms into the popular lexicon. The theory, apparently, is that once society at large has adopted these terms into general usage untold millions may start to associate negative feelings with the things the left wants them to have negative feelings about. In this way the debate is won before the debate has even begun.
blahblahblahblah
An example of this phenomenon would be the use of the term “swift-boating” to refer to a candidate being unfairly destroyed by false or spurious accusations. Never mind the fact that the only thing false and spurious about the Swift Boat Affair was John Kerry’s outlandish stories, the term has been coined and – it is hoped – a generation from now Kerry’s sorry reputation will be redeemed because of it.
Another example would be the term “nixonian.” Now we’ve no particular love for Tricky Dick but how is it fair to use a term like that when Kennedy, Johnson, Clinton and Obama have been far more “nixonian” than Nixon ever was.
Unwilling to let this slight go unanswered IHateTheMedia.com is responding with some neologisms of our own. Ten of them to be precise:
joe-kennedy – The act of lobotomising your children because their behavior has embarrassed you.
Example: After years of warnings the Carney’s finally had to joe-kennedy their unruly child. Little Jay was never the same again.
ted-kennedy – The act of drowning your troubles.
May be used figuratively: I’m gonna ted-kennedy all my cares with a big bottle of Chivas.
Or literally: When the distinguished Senator from Massachusetts found out his secretary was pregnant he knew he’d have to give her a little ted-kennedy before she had finished making one of her own.
lewinsky – A psychological condition compelling individuals to obsessively clean door handles.
Example: I asked her how long she planned on keeping up this ridiculous lewinsky, but she never stopped polishing my knob long enough to answer.
napolitano – excrement
Example: Four hours after her private meeting with President Obama, Katie Couric still had a little napolitano on her nose.
pelosi – Plastic surgery. Usually, but not always, referring to a face lift.
Example: If Arianna Huffington has any more pelosis it will look like she’s growing a goatee.
biden – The condition of being impossibly stupid.
Example: Barack was amazed that Michelle had bought his story about Reggie Love “just checking my prostrate for lumps”. Not even Biden was that biden.
armitage – To reveal a secret about someone while avoiding all culpability in the matter.
Example: Everybody assumed it was Perez Hilton that had outed Anderson Cooper. But in reality no one knew who the real armitage was.
rather – To knowingly use false documents for political, professional or financial gain.
Example: Barney Frank swore to the officers that he hadn’t known that the young man was using a rathered ID.
obama – To take what is not yours through the threat of physical coercion.
Example: Everybody put your hands up, this is an obama!
clinton – To engage in sexual intercourse with someone against their will.
Example: On the evening of March 29, 1991 William Kennedy Smith clintoned a woman named Patricia Bowman. Luckily for Ms. Bowman she escaped young William’s clutches before he could ted-kennedy her as well.
