Interestingly, Huffington Post headlines the story, “Creigh Deeds’s Stutter Mocked by Prominent Endorser of GOP Candidate in Virginia Gubernatorial Race.”
Our headline is far more accurate. In fact, on the day Johnson endorsed Republican candidate Bob McDonnell, she said that she is a proud Democrat who is crossing party lines only because McDonnell is the better candiate.
But the Huffington Post never let facts get in the way of a good story.
You’ll find hundreds of names on Hollywood’s pro-Polanski petition. Here are the names and why it seems a bit eerie that they should support a man convicted of drugging and raping a child.
Is anyone surprised that Woody Allen, seen here with his wife and stepdaughter, supports Roman Polansky
You’ll find hundreds of names on Hollywood’s pro-Polanski petition. But to be honest, there are very few “Hollywood” names on the list and a ton of European names on the list. Lots of guys you’ve never heard of named Luc and Jean-Jacques and Lucien and Guillermo.
That being said, several Hollywood names stand out. Here are the names and why it seems a bit eerie (a polite way of saying “sick”) that they should support a man convicted of drugging and raping a child.
Woody Allen – Actor/writer/director and legendary lecher who married his own adopted stepdaughter.
Buck Henry – Writer/actor who played Uncle Roy, the perverted babysitter on Saturday Night Live. He also wrote “Candy,” a film that imdb.com describes with these words, “Candy Christian is an innocent young girl when she first hears McPhisto, an alcoholic Welsh poet, talk of love and self-sacrifice. Candy narrowly escapes McPhisto’s attempt to rape her, only to succumb to her father’s Mexican gardener, Emmanuel.” And it goes downhill from there. Henry also wrote “The Graduate,” a film in which an older woman seduces a naïve college-aged boy.
Jeremy Irons – Actor who starred in a remake of Lolita. imdb.com’s plot synopsis says, “Humbert Humbert, a British professor coming to the US to teach, rents a room in Charlotte Haze’s house, but only after he sees her 14-year-old daughter, Dolores (Lolita), to whom he is immediately attracted. Though he hates the mother, he marries her as this is the only way to be close to the girl….”
Sam Mendes – Directed “American Beauty.” The imdb.com synopsis says, “Lester Burnham is in a mid-life crisis, caused by his stressed wife Carolyn and rebelling teenage daughter Jane. When Lester and Carolyn go watch Jane cheerleading, they meet Angela Hayes, and Lester, caught in sudden lust for Angela, decides to change his life.”
Mike Nichols – Writer/director who directed “The Graduate.” imdb.com’s synopsis of the film says, “Recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock is trapped into an affair with Mrs. Robinson, who happens to be the wife of his father’s business partner and then finds himself falling in love with her teenage daughter…”
We can’t help but remember the words of our mother: “A man is judged by the company he keeps.”
Oh, you’re going to love Valerie Jarrett’s excuse for Obama’s Olympic failure: “The intelligence that we had from the U.S. Olympic Committee and Chicago bid team was that it was very close and therefore well worth our efforts…”
In this case, the term "faulty intelligence" does not refer to Joe Biden.
Oh, you’re going to love Valerie Jarrett’s excuse for Obama’s Olympic failure:
“‘The intelligence that we had from the U.S. Olympic Committee and Chicago bid team was that it was very close and therefore well worth our efforts,’ said Valerie Jarrett, a senior White House advisor. ‘The message was that … a personal appeal from the president would make a huge difference.’”
Did she just say they had faulty intelligence? Isn’t that what got us into Iraq?
“Obama lied, Chicago died.” Somebody get the bumper stickers ready.
It’s pretty obvious by now that the President isn’t going in the same direction as the rest of the country. But now he’s not even going in the same direction as his teleprompter.
It’s pretty obvious by now that the President isn’t going in the same direction as the rest of the country. But now he’s not even going in the same direction as his teleprompter.
Perhaps he was confused by the thunderous applause at a meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus. Or perhaps he just can’t help himself from moving to the left.
Simply stated, you won’t believe your eyes. Even if you’re not a baseball fan you’ll be amazed. It is, without a doubt, the most remarkably accurate prediction in the history of sports.
Rachel Maddow has been on the air since last September and this is the first thing she’s ever aired that was worth watching.

Non-conformity used to mean something. Now, non-conformity means conforming to a rigid set of progressive and often contradictory rules that govern non-conformity.
Harry Aleo, San Francisco conservative, is gone but not forgotten.

Now, non-conformity means conforming to a rigid set of progressive and often contradictory rules that govern non-conformity.
Be anti-tobacco, but pro-pot. Anti-war, unless it’s a communist or anti-Western insurgency. Protest against the execution of murderers and for abortions. Star in violent movies, but favor gun control.
The home base of this non-conformist conforming is San Francisco, a city that just lost its only remaining true non-conformist.
His name was Harry Aleo. His real estate business–called Twin Peaks Properties –added a dose of reality to the hippie fantasy world of free lunches, free love, high people and infinitely high taxes.
Harry passed away and now a museum in San Francisco wants to hold an exhibit of some of the signs and banners Harry proudly displayed in his office window. For example, they want to preserve a cardboard sign Aleo scribbled and propped up in the window of his office announcing that it was “an island of traditional conservative values in a sea of latte sipping liberal loonies.”
Many conservatives will look on the exhibit as a sign that San Fran may at least respect dissenting opinions. We think it’s more likely that they’re just after some grant money in an ironic attempt to extort more money from the public coffers.

“And they both say that Sarkozy thinks that President Obama is incredibly naive and grossly egotistical,” Kelly says, “so egotistical that no one can dent his naïveté.”

Blago, exhibiting the boyish charm that got him elected, contends that prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has been very selective in releasing edited snippets of his taped conversations. He says he will be fully vindicated when the complete tapes are released.
“Let’s hear the tapes,” Blago said. “Release the tapes. Tell the prosecutor to stop holding those tapes hostage.”
Somebody is corrupt here. It’s either Blagojevich or Fitzgerald. Maybe both.
Chicago lost? After the President, the First Lady and Oprah Winfrey endorsed the city? There’s only one answer. The International Olympic Committee is raaaaacist!

So, Dave Letterman has his very own sex scandal and blackmail. Well, he’s got no problem laughing about the sex scandals of others. Here are his Top 10 hypocritical lines aboutother people’s sex scandals.
Sex scandals are a lot funnier when they don't involve you.
10. “Gov. Mark Sanford disappeared…and it turned out he was in South America. And then it turned out he was down there because he was sleeping with a woman from Argentina. Once again, foreigners taking jobs that Americans won’t do.”
9. “Ladies and gentlemen, here is great news. Senator Larry Craig from Idaho … is looking for interns. What parent doesn’t want to hear, ‘Well guess what, Dad, I got accepted into Larry Craig’s intern program’? But if you’re interested, Larry Craig is now accepting applications from interns. Just slide your resume under the stall.”
8. “But did you hear about this? Senator Craig from Idaho plans to fight a disorderly conduct charge. He wants to change his plea to ‘not creepy.’ … Earlier today Senator Craig said he’d like to turn over a new page. I believe his name is Kevin.”
7. “There’s another scandal in Washington. One of the senator’s from Idaho, Larry Craig, was arrested in airport men’s room. Gives new meaning to the word caucusing.’”
Obama won’t rest until every American has a job. Except for his weekly golf. And all vacations. And trips to the burger joint with Joe. And TV interviews.
“We’re putting Americans back to work doing the work that America needs done,” the President said in a speech to the Democratic Governors Association, “Rebuilding roads, bridges, uhh, and new schools, and all manner of construction projects across all 50 states. I’m not going to rest. I know the governors and candidates here are not going to rest, and I know that the American people are not going to rest until everybody who’s looking for work can find a job.”
And then President Empty Suit flew off to Copenhagen while the unemployment rate rose to 9.8%.
MSNBC executives must be sweating bullets. Last quarter was a for the also-ran lefty network, and last week was even worse.
Why is this man smiling? He must not have seen last week's ratings.
MSNBC executives must be sweating bullets. Last quarter was a ratings disaster for the also-ran lefty network, and last week was even worse.
For the first time since her premiere last September, Rachel Maddow failed to top 1,000,000 viewers all five nights of the week.
And Ed Schultz. Poor Ed Schultz. After his disappointing premiere back in April, networks executives reassured worried advertisers that his ratings would grow. In reality, they’ve actually become more abysmal. Last week the bombastic buffoon’s total audience fell under 500,000 viewers three of the five nights.
Maddow has a bit of an excuse because Keith Olbermann wasn’t around as a lead-in to her show. But she’s been able to top that magic million mark during previous Olbermann absences.
Meanwhile, O’Reilly, Hannity and Beck have turned Fox News into the 1927 Yankees of cable news.
That sound you hear is the gnashing of teeth emanating from MSNBC’s executive suites.
Michelle Obama fanatical fans are apparently unfamiliar with Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, First Lady of France, heiress, former model, and now, it turns out, an excellent singer.
You may find this hard to believe, but there are websites devoted (and we mean devoted) to Michelle Obama. They think she is the most glamorous, most beautiful, most intelligent and most stylish woman in the world. Seriously.
They are wrong.
Apparently, they are unfamiliar with Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, First Lady of France, heiress, former model, and now, it turns out, an excellent singer. And as a bonus, she’s not built like an NFL linebacker.
Actress, singer and political wacko Bette Midler calls Glenn Beck “terrifying” and says “he’s like an old school demagogue.”
Actress, singer and political wacko Bette Midler calls Glenn Beck “terrifying” and says “he’s like an old school demagogue.”
Why, the next thing that’ll happen, according to Midler is that Beck’s hate speech will set off the kind of civil unrest they had in Rwanda. Because radio hosts caused that, you know. Evil, conservative radio hosts. Probably raaaaaaacists.
The New York Times is currently creating merriment with some disingenuous praise concerning Maine’s Republican Senator Olympia Snowe.
This does not appear to be a woman who has been seduced very often
The New York Times is currently creating merriment with some the most disingenuous praise uttered since, “Gee, you don’t sweat much for a fat girl.”
We’re talking about the left’s wining and dining of Maine’s Republican Senator Olympia Snowe. As the Times remarks, “The significance of the Obama-Snowe relationship lies not in the prospect that the president will replicate it with many, or even any, other Republicans. To achieve his objectives, Ms. Snowe may be the only Republican he needs.”
For her part, Snowe seems quite enamored with the President and “… she offered a surprisingly robust endorsement of Mr. Obama’s skepticism about expanding government too much, his willingness to accommodate different views and his assertion that Washington must act now after decades of failure.”
The Times admitted that Mr. Obama and his team began cultivating Ms. Snowe even before he took office in January. “He’s always eliciting my views,” she said, “wondering, you know, what my concerns are.” How sweet.
Snowe also stated that “she has maintained traditional Republican principles over 30 years in Washington, while her party has moved past them to the right.”
Well, sure, if by traditional Republican principles you mean support for abortion and backing Obama on TARP funds and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Rest assured that the New York Times is like that creepy guy from high school. It will drop Snowe as soon as it gets what it wants from her.
President Obama may have said he’s not interested in victory when it comes to Iran, but there’s another Obama who knows how important it is to win.
President Obama may have said he’s not interested in victory when it comes to Iran, but there’s another Obama who knows how important it is to win.
“It’s a battle — we’re going to win — take no prisoners,” Michelle Obama told reporters.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t talking about Iran. She wasn’t talking about Afghanistan. She wasn’t even talking about the healthcare battle. No, Mrs O was talking about her efforts to win the 2016 Olympics for Chicago.
We say put the woman in charge of our foreign policy.
After all, who would you rather face in a street fight? The scrawny, smiling, appeasing Barack Obama or a hard-as-nails, looming linebacker like Michelle?
According to a new book called “The Battle for America 2008,”David Axelrod, Barack Obama’s official Yoda, confronted his young Skywalker with this statement:

“At the risk of triggering the very reaction that concerns me, I don’t know if you are Muhammad Ali or Floyd Patterson when it comes to taking a punch. You care far too much what is written and said about you. You don’t relish combat when it becomes personal and nasty….”
Far as we can tell, the book has only sold three copies — one each to Kim Il-Jong, Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
We’re not sure which is worse – the fact that we’re typing these words or that a former Secretary of State actually said them. Alas, it is true. Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright talks about her firm breasts with CNN anchor John Roberts.

At least we finally know why Clinton gave her the job.
Don’t ask us to explain this video. It’s oddly hypnotic. It’s in Arabic, but it has German subtitles. It seems legit. But who the hell knows?
“It’s got a good beat and it’s easy to dance to.” Oh, wait. We just had a flashback to American Bandstand in 1959. Or maybe a flashforward to 2059. We’re not sure which.

According to the Huffington Post, President Obama is a chess master extraordinaire. No, really. That’s what they said.
According to the Huffington Post, President Obama is a chess master extraordinaire. No, really. That’s what they said:
President Obama knew about the secret Iranian facility nine months ago. Before he began his strategy of engagement, he knew Iran was lying about its program. When he extended his hand in friendship, he knew Iran had built a secret factory to enrich uranium. Before he offered direct talks, he knew Iran was hiding a nuclear weapons breakout capability.
Each move was denounced as “weak” and “naïve” by the right. That talk looks foolish today. These were the moves of chess master, carefully positioning pieces on the board, laying a trap, and springing it at the opportune moment.
Well, actually, the moves still look weak and naive to us.
We’d say the Huffington Post has it slightly wrong. Obama looks more like the president of the high school chess club than a chess master. And Mahmoud Ahmadinejad looks like one of the tough kids who’s about to give him a wedgie.
