Deciding vote on Obama Nobel Peace Prize cast by radical Socialist and KGB informer

Although it was originally reported that President Obama had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize after a unanimous vote, the final tally was actually a much close 3-2 vote.

Although it was originally reported that President Obama had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize after a unanimous vote, the final tally was actually a much close 3-2 vote.

The Conservative Party’s Kaci Kullmann Five and the Socialist Left’s Aagot Valle voted no.

The swing vote that broke the 2-2 tie and awarded the Nobel to Obama was cast by committee Chairman Thorbjørn Jaglan, President of the Storting.

Wikipedia (yeah, we know the problems with Wikipedia, but we’re quoting it anyway) says, “Since 1999, Jagland is also one of several vice presidents of the Socialist International. Jagland stated that the left wing in Norway does not use Socialist International enough. From 2000 to 2006, he chaired the Socialist International Committee on the Middle East, and he has outspokenly opposed the perceived presence of islamophobia in Western societies.”

They also said, “…a former Soviet spy described Jagland as a friendly politician during the 1970s and 80s. Jagland said he held diplomatic talks with the Soviet unions and that all the conversations were innocent exchanges between them.[14] He was classified as a ’confidential contact’ by the Committee for State Security (KGB).“

Well, surely, you say, President Obama can’t be held responsible if some foreign socialist wants to give him a multimillion dollar award. It’s not like he named a socialist to his administration or anything.

Not so fast.

E&E News reports that Carol Browner was also an official of the Socialist International until forced to resign due to negative publicity surrounding her appointment as Obama’s Climate Czar.

So now we know who thinks Obama deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. And we know whom Obama appoints to key positions.

So the only remaining question is how anyone could possibly believe this guy’s not a socialist.

Imus’ radio show, a simulcast of his radio show, averaged 148,000 viewers a day for the week of October 5. That allowed FBN to eke out its first narrow victory over CNBC since FBN fired up its transmitter two years ago.

The New York Daily News reports:

Imus retained about 75% of his audience for the period, and helped propel Fox Business to its highest overall ratings for a week.

Imus’ total viewership on Fox was several times the average of his last simulcast, on the RFD network, and a little less than half the number he averaged when he was on MSNBC.

Aussie Health Minister Nicola Roxon said flu could kill 6000 Aussies this flu season and put 80,000 in hospital. And that’s out of a total population of just 20 million.

Professor Raina MacIntyre, a member of the Government’s influenza advisory group, anticipated an even higher toll.

“If you look at deaths that are directly related to influenza and also to pneumonia, which is the most common complication of influenza,” she said, “we could be looking at anything in the ball park of 10,000 deaths, 10,000 to 20,000 deaths.”

None of it happened.

The actual number of Aussies who died from swine flu?

A mere 185.

The total box office for “Capitalism” dropped 39% this weekend despite playing in an additional 33 theaters. This weekend’s total box office was a mere $2,700,000 and the total two week take is just $9,095,000.

Think about it this way: At $10 per ticket, that means only 270,000 people saw “Capitalism” this weekend. That works out to 271 people per theater. Figure three showings per day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, that means a sad, sad average of 30 people paid to see each showing of Capitalism.

Of course, this is Hollywood. So a documentary that’s full of lies and distortions that no one want to see, well, that’s surefire Oscar material.

Hey, wait. Is this April 1? Nope. Just checked the calendar and it’s October 14. The only other option is that Friedman has had an extremely rare moment of clarity.

What follows are words you never thought you’d see from Friedman and/or the Times:

Let me begin by thanking the Nobel committee for awarding me this prize, the highest award to which any statesman can aspire. As I said on the day it was announced, ‘I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize.’ Therefore, upon reflection, I cannot accept this award on my behalf at all.

But I will accept it on behalf of the most important peacekeepers in the world for the last century — the men and women of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

Lord knows, ours are not perfect, and I have already moved to remedy inexcusable excesses we’ve perpetrated in the war on terrorism.

But have no doubt, those are the exception. If you want to see the true essence of America, visit any U.S. military outpost in Iraq or Afghanistan. You will meet young men and women of every race and religion who work together as one, far from their families, motivated chiefly by their mission to keep the peace and expand the borders of freedom.

So for all these reasons — and so you understand that I will never hesitate to call on American soldiers where necessary to take the field against the enemies of peace, tolerance and liberty — I accept this peace prize on behalf of the men and women of the U.S. military: the world’s most important peacekeepers.

NBC cancels series before it deserves it, Obama gets Nobel prize before deserving it. It’s just that kind of day.

It was a very weird, but very consistent day. At the same time NBC has cancelled “Southland” before it ever aired, Barack Obama was given a Nobel Peace Prize prior to accomplishing anything to deserve it.

It was a very weird, but very consistent day. At the same time NBC has cancelled “Southland” before it ever aired, Barack Obama was given a Nobel Peace Prize prior to accomplishing anything to deserve it.

Jay Leno’s comment on the cancellation story was, “NBC’s ratings aren’t so hot. In fact — and this is true — this week the network canceled the show ‘Southland’ before it even came back on the air. Next thing you know they’ll be canceling shows before writers can even think of them.”

Had Leno done a Nobel Peace Prize version it would have said, “Barack Obama’s approval ratings aren’t so hot. In fact – and this is true – today the Nobel committee gave the President the Nobel Peace Prize before he’s actually accomplished anything. Next thing you know they’ll be giving Presidents awards before they’re even elected.”

What’s that? Obama was nominated two weeks prior to his inauguration? So the prize couldn’t possibly be based on anything he’s done? Hmmmm.

Congratulations, President Obama. We’re sure you’re proud to be take your place alongside other peaceful men like Yassar Arafat.

The whole story is presented with such sweet earnestness that it almost seems mean to laugh at it. Almost.
