Why to hear Joe Biden tell it, he’s a regular job creating dynamo. Here’s how Bloomberg reports the story of this walking, talking economic miracle
Joe Biden has also saved or created 700,000 follicles
Why, to hear Joe Biden tell it, he’s a regular job creating dynamo.
Here’s how Bloomberg reports the story of this walking, talking economic miracle:
President Barack Obama’s clean- energy initiatives will help create more than 700,000 jobs and allow the U.S. to double its renewable-power generation in three years, according to a report by Vice President Joe Biden.
Biden, in a memo on administration efforts to shift to a clean-energy economy, said projects in the $787 billion economic stimulus package are contributing to “unprecedented growth” in renewable energy, such as wind and solar, and improving manufacturing for new clean-energy technology.
Hold your horses there, buckeroo. The Wall Street Journal noticed something a little odd about those jobs:
Take a look at footnote 3 on page 2 of the Biden memo:
All of the job estimates used in this document correspond to jobs that last for one year. Of course, some jobs could last longer–in this case the number of distinct jobs would be reduced proportionately. For example, a project that employs one person for two years would count as creating two jobs.
We suppose if the guy doesn’t get fired from either of his two jobs over the course of the two years, that would count as four jobs saved or created.
Of course. It’s like Biden’s hair plugs. He takes them from one part of his head and moves them to another part of his head and says he’s created or saved 700,000 follicles.
State Hillary Clinton has ‘fessed up that Barack Obama’s “smart diplomacy,” which seems to be comprised of writing pretty letters and giving pretty speeches aimed at Iran, has produced results just as impressive as the smart diplomacy policy with North Korea. Which is zero.
And when we say “solid B-plus“ we mean it’s a complete, dismal failure.
Yes, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has ‘fessed up that Barack Obama’s “smart diplomacy,” which seems to be comprised of writing pretty letters and giving pretty speeches aimed at Iran, has produced results just as impressive as the smart diplomacy policy with North Korea. Which is zero.
This video demonstrates a first: Former UN Ambassador John Bolton and Clinton agreeing on something.
The latest survey puts the president’s approval at 49%-46%. But that’s not just low, it’s historically low.
Campaigning is easy, governing is tough
How the mighty have fallen. In the polls, that is. According to a new USA TODAY/Gallup Poll, Obama’s still in positive territory. Barely.
The latest survey puts the president’s approval at 49%-46%. But that’s not just low, it’s historically low. Here’s how other presidents have fared at this point in their presidencies:
George W. Bush 86%
John Kennedy 77%
George Bush 71%
Dwight Eisenhower 69%
Richard Nixon 59%
Jimmy Carter 57%
Bill Clinton 54%
Reagan 49%
Obama 49%
Although they both had 49% approval rating, that evil conservative Ronald Reagan rates higher than Obama because his negatives were lower (41% for Reagan vs 46% for Obama).
The poll of 1,025 adults, taken by landline and cellphone, has a margin of error of 4 percentage points, which means that Obama’s approval rating could be as low as 45%.
Give it another couple months and Obama will be recalling these as the good old days.
John Graham-Cumming, A UK computer programmer but not a global warming skeptic, took a closer look at the programming code for CRU’s computer modeling. His assessment? The code is so far below standard that it renders the resulting climate models worthless.
Turns out fraud may be the least of the problems exposed in the East Anglia CRU emails. Incompetence may be an even bigger issue for the gurus of global warming.
John Graham-Cumming, A UK computer programmer but not a global warming skeptic, took a closer look at the programming code for CRU’s computer modeling. His assessment? The code is so far below standard that it renders the resulting climate models worthless.
And in the words of Al Gore, “Hey, that’s good enough for me. Let’s spend billions of dollars. Want to hear my new poem?”
The greenies would have you believe that they are superior in both mind and spirit. But based on these ideas to save the planet, maybe they should just concentrate on being superior of spirit.
We have to agree with Kermit. It's not easy being green.

10. Stay married. For better or worse.
Australian Senator Steve Fielding told a Senate hearing that divorce leads to a “resource-inefficient lifestyle” and that the planet would benefit if couples stayed married. Maybe that’s why the Clintons are still together.
9. Share a room with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost
According to an article in the Irish Times, “Ireland’s Catholic bishops … said the public should adopt a simpler lifestyle to help the planet.” Hey, wait just a darn sec. Doesn’t that contradict #10?
8. Sock it to global warming
During an interview on the BBC, sculptor Antony Gormley said, “Dispense with your socks … this is a time of global warming. Through our feet we can begin to feel it.” Walk a mile in Al Gore’s shoes.
7. Fido Stroganoff
Brenda and Robert Vale, a couple of whacked out New Zealand professors, suggest that you should swap your cats and dogs for pets you can eat. Chickens, for example. Or rabbits. You can find their outstanding advice is in their new book calledTime to Eat the Dog: The real guide to sustainable living. If we were smart, we’d get ahead of the trend and do a cookbook.
6. A new kind of green movement
An Iowa company called Wallypop introduced reusable cloth toilet wipes. We predict that their main competitor will be Sheryl Crow fans who believe in using just one square per…uhhh…session.
5. The sky’s the limit
According to the Daily Mail UK, “A Japanese airline has started asking passengers to go to the toilet before boarding in a bid to reduce carbon emissions. All Nippon Airways claims that empty bladders mean lighter passengers, a lighter aircraft and thus lower fuel use.” In other words, take a pee before you take off.
4. Rent your clothes. Seriously.
The geniuses at Britain’s Waste & Resources Action Program have come out against closets full of rarely worn clothes. It’s environmentally unacceptable, you should start renting your clothes instead of buying them. Yeah, but what happens if you don’t return your rented clothes. Do you get an eviction notice?
3. Kill Bill. And everyone else.
A group of Sydney academics published a paper that said, “This paper sets out, as a thought experiment, the possibility of humanity’s willing extinction as a solution to a growing ecological problem.” Please, be our guest Mr. Gore.
2. Better living through better batter
Brits Simon and Damiana Hare reveal that they’ll go through Britain’s predicted bitterly cold winter without heating their cottage. But if it gets too cold for their infant daughter, they say, “We can heat the house by making a second batch of pancakes.” Mmmmm. Ecological and delicious!
1. Greenpiece
According to an ITN News report, “A Berlin brothel is fighting climate change and the recession by offering a discount to those clients who arrive by bicycle.” Women who are used to peddling their asses are now pedaling them.
Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years. He’s lying.
It’s been a bad couple weeks for Al Gore and it just got worse. A whole lot worse.
The global warming house of cards is falling down, but Gore decided to double down by making some frightening short term predictions about global warming. Bad move for the Goracle.
Here’s how the Times UK reports Al’s embarrassing story:
Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.
In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”
However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.
“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”
Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.
So poor Al got caught in two different lies. First he made up a scary quote and got nailed by the scientist he was supposedly quoting. Then he tried to cover his butt by claiming that the information came to him in “a conversation” several years ago, forgetting that he said in his Copenhagen speech that these were “fresh” numbers.
So let’s sum up all the details of the story to this point:
Gore is a liar.
That’s it. That’s the whole summation. What more do you need?
The History Channel has announced that it is planning a new series based on America’s greatest crime family – the Kennedys.
The History Channel has announced that it is planning a new series based on America’s greatest crime family – the Kennedys.
Hey, don’t blame us if you don’t like the comparison. Blame the History Channel. Here’s how The Associated Press reports it:
The cable network says the eight-hour series is called “The Kennedys” and will be told in a multigenerational manner akin to “The Godfather.” The network says the series will depict a manipulative, egocentric father living out his ambitions through his sons.
The personal drama of the clan will be included in the saga as well as the era’s major events. Some of those include the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban missile crisis and the civil rights struggle.
Who do they think they’re kidding? Nobody wants to watch a dramatized version of the Bay of Pigs. They want to see JFK boinking Marilyn Monroe. They want to see Teddy Kennedy and Chris Dodd making a waitress sandwich. They want the sexual escapades, the drunks and the criminals of the Kennedy clan.
Call it Godfather IV, the Teddy Kennedy Story. Or what would have happened if Fredo had become the Godfather?
Adding Clinton crony George Stephanopoulos to the anchor desk at ABC’s Good Morning America did nothing for the show’s ratings. Nothing good, that is.
Wake me up when Good Morning America gets interesting
Adding Clinton crony George Stephanopoulos to the anchor desk at ABC’s Good Morning America did nothing for the show’s ratings. Nothing good, that is.
Breitbart reports:
Preliminary numbers from Nielsen Co. show that his first day on “Good Morning America” on Monday had questionable impact on the audience size. NBC’s “Today” beat “Good Morning America” by 1.3 million viewers, widening its advantage from last week’s average margin of 1.1 million viewers.
Nielsen says Monday’s audience for “Today” was 5.9 million viewers, while “GMA” had 4.6 million viewers.
Earlier this month, “Today” marked 14 years of winning each week in the ratings.
Stephanopoulos, taking over from Diane Sawyer at the “GMA” anchor desk, is partnered with Robin Roberts.

A new CBS News/New York Times poll reveals some bad news for the folks over in Copenhagen – just 37% of Americans rate the issue as a high priority for government leaders.
The Al Gore Ice Sculpture is melting, just like support for global warming
A new CBS News/New York Times poll reveals some bad news for the folks over in Copenhagen – just 37% of Americans rate the issue as a high priority for government leaders.
Support, it appears, is dropping faster than temperatures because that’s down from 52% who said it was a high priority in April, 2007.
Here’s how CBS News reports the issue’s dwindling support:
A majority of Americans (70 percent) do consider global warming to be a “serious problem.” But nearly two in three either see it as “not serious” (23 percent overall) or a serious problem but not a high priority (33 percent).
In April of 2007, just 8 percent of Americans said global warming was not serious.
The change in priorities can be attributed in part to the economic downturn. In the April 2007 poll, 52 percent said protecting the environment is more important than stimulating the economy. Thirty-six percent said the economy was a higher priority.
You know what we need right about now? Another Al Gore global warming poem, that’s what.

Only a wife could talk to the President this way.
The Christian Science Monitor reports this human interest story from Oslo:
Before picking up his prize and delivering an eloquent speech, the president and first lady visited the Nobel Institute to sign a guest book in the room where the Nobel Committee meets to vote on prizes. Mr. Obama carefully wrote seven lines of text, prompting Mrs. Obama to ask, “Are you writing a book?”
No, Michelle, if he had been writing a book Bill Ayers would have been there.
We searched “Obama” on eBay and discovered that, no, there is no end to Obama merchandise and Obama gear. We found 200 pages of Obama products. Here are some of the ones we found on the first ten pages.
We did an a story last a couple weeks ago about the Barack Obama Chia Pet and the Barack Obama Bronze Bust. That story got us to thinking. Is there no end to the merchandise on which people have slapped this guy’s face?
So did a little experiment. We searched “Obama” on eBay and discovered that, no, there is no end. We found 200 pages of Obama merchandise. Here are some of the ones we found on the first ten pages.
There’s still plenty of time left for you to find the perfect Obama-themed Christmas gift for all your friends and loved ones. But hurry. Time is running out.

Journalist, filmmaker and global warming skeptic Phelim McAleer has the effrontery to ask Al Gore a question about “Climategate’” at the UN Climate Change Conference. Then he watched Al run.
Journalist, filmmaker and global warming skeptic Phelim McAleer has the effrontery to ask Al Gore a question about “Climategate’” at the UN Climate Change Conference.
Gore’s response? To get away from McAleer as quickly as he can. Even worse, Gore’s Press Secretary grabs McAleer’s microphone and then a U.N. security guard pulls out its cable.

Joe Biden, who is apparently still Vice President, came to the aid of Chris Dodd and remarked that Dodd is “getting the living hell beat out of him.”
At first we were shocked at the blatant honesty of the statement, and by the amount of sense the hitherto sense-lacking Vice President demonstrated.
Then, of course, he had to ruin the whole thing by saying that the reason Dodd was getting the living bejesus beat out of him was “because he’s being a leader. This is going to be a hell of a race and it’s an uphill race, but Chris Dodd will prevail.”
Perhaps what Joe meant to say was that Chris Dodd was the leader in AIG contributions, even beating out Barrack Obama.
It’s worth noting that at no time during the Vice President’s praise of Dodd’s leadership was there any mention of his leadership in the Wall Street meltdown, the mortgage crisis or the AIG bonus fiasco. Biden did, however, note that Dodd was “the most gifted legislator in Congress, now that Teddy Kennedy’s gone.”
We’re not sure what Teddy Kennedy ever did to Joe Biden to warrant this comparison, but it must have been something really bad.
Good news, liberals. 53-year old Annise Parker has become only the second woman elected mayor of Houston. And to top that, she’s the first lesbian chosen to run any major American city.
Maybe Annise Parker is a phony lesbian. Yeah, that's it. That's why those rednecks elected her.
Good news, liberals. 53-year old Annise Parker has become only the second woman elected mayor of Houston. And to top that, she’s the first lesbian chosen to run any major American city.
Bad news, liberals. She’s a fiscal conservative.
We’ll pause briefly while liberal activists and gay rights activists recover from the sick feelings in the pits of their stomachs.
As the Los Angeles Times reports, “Parker neither proclaimed nor sought to hide her sexual orientation and ran on a platform of firm fiscal conservatism and her long experience in urban financial matters.”
Tonto: Look, Kimosabe, off in the west. Is that a wigwam Tonto see?
We decided to test Matthews’ unusual theory by comparing Palin’s autograph to President Obama’s. Since Matthews would undoubtedly say that Palin is far less intelligent than Obama, that difference should be clearly demonstrated in the “cipherability” of their signatures. Is it?
Just as you can see Russia from Alaska, you can see Chris Matthews’ envy from across the street. As NewsBusters.org reports the story:
“She’s got to be smarter than this,” argued Matthews despite complaining moments later about how the former governor gives autographs: “She doesn’t write the book, and then she scribbles some indecipherable sign on the book as a signature.”
Is Matthews really contending that clarity of signature correlates to intelligence?
We decided to test Matthews’ unusual theory by comparing Palin’s autograph to President Obama’s. Since Matthews would undoubtedly say that Palin is far less intelligent than Obama, that difference should be clearly demonstrated in the “cipherability” of their signatures. Is it?
Hmmmm. Debatable as to which one has the more legible signature and therefore, according to Matthews, the greater intelligence. But our money’s on Palin. So just for good measure, we decided to compare their hurriedly scrawled initials, too.
We’d have to say it’s another toss-up. And therefore, either Palin is just as intelligent as Obama or Matthews is full of something that smells very, very bad.
But there’s one more signature that needs to be throw into this mix just for comparison purposes – that of Chris Matthews himself. Surely, after his comments about Palin’s signature, that of the MSNBC host must be a masterpiece of legibility. Or maybe not.
How’s that clarity equals intelligence theory working for you now, Chris?
There are many examples of Palin’s and Obama’s autograph available on the internet, but we could find just one example of the MSNBC host’s autograph. And that leads us to the inescapable conclusion that Matthews’ real complaint is that thousands of people line up to get Palin’s autograph, but no one ever asks for his.
What happens when Lord Christopher Walter Monckton talks global warming with a Greenpeace activist in Copenhagen? Let’s just say the Greenpeace activist and the global warming movement come out second best.

The funniest part of the interview is that Monckton demolishes the activist in that very polite, very dignified way only an Englishman could pull off.

According to the Huffington Post, The Joy Behar show is “on a roll.” In the Land of Huffpo, a roll is apparently defined as finishing fourth in its 9 pm time slot with an average of just 417,000 viewers per night.
Not to burst Behar’s bubble or diminish the importance of finishing in the all important number four spot, but TVbyTheNumbers.com recently took “the first 50 days of ratings for Headline News’ The Behar Show and compared them to the final 50 days of the show she replaced, Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell. So far, Joy’s done no better in the ratings.”
Is it just us or was “Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell” a show you found by accident when there were no good infomercials on?
Behar topped her average ratings only three times during the 50 day period. Her featured guests on those nights were Martin Short, Levi Johnson and Roseanne Barr – a gay icon and two celebrities everyone thought were dead.
Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric’s (GE) CEO attacked other business leaders in a speech at West Point. Immelt neglected to mention, however, that he took home $14,100,000 in compensation last year.
Jeff Immelt hates greedy, overpaid executives. Unless their name is Jeff Immelt.
Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric’s (GE) CEO attacked other business leaders in a speech at West Point, saying that his generation “had succumbed to ‘meanness and greed’ that had harmed the US economy and increased the gap between the rich and the poor.”
Immelt neglected to mention, however, that he took home $14,100,000 in compensation last year. Guess he was talking about all those other greedy execs.
“We are at the end of a difficult generation of business leadership … tough-mindedness, a good trait, was replaced by meanness and greed, both terrible traits,” Immelt said, “Rewards became perverted. The richest people made the most mistakes with the least accountability.”
Immelt’s didn’t stop there. According to the Financial Times, he also linked bad leadership to growing inequality.
“The bottom 25 per cent of the American population is poorer than they were 25 years ago. That is just wrong,” he said. “Ethically, leaders do share a common responsibility to narrow the gap between the weak and the strong.”
Two problems with Immelt’s attack. First, he’s one of the highest paid U.S. executives. And second, although GE took $80 billion in TARP funds, Immelt somehow used his connections to the Obama administration to get GE exempted from executive pay cuts that hit similar firms.
Here’s how Business Week spells out Immelt’s 2008 income:
TOTAL COMPENSATION in 2008
Total Annual Cash Compensation $3,300,000
Total Short Term Compensation $3,300,000
Other Long Term Compensation $7,233,137
Total Calculated Compensation $14,096,603
Contributing to Immelt’s pot calling the kettle black syndrome, the non-greedy CEO somehow got GE and himself exempted from pay restricitions imposed on other companies by Obama’s pay czar.

Sounding like a wannabe Mussolini, Matthews bemoans the fact that the trains don’t run on time and that we spend all our money on defense rather than upgrading our rail system.
“You know, I don’t understand why this country is so far behind other countries,” Matthews complained. “If you go, if you’re lucky enough to get to Europe, you know my kids talk about getting through the Chunnel, under the English Channel, in a couple of minutes. These kids studying overseas in their third year. The Europeans seem to have fast trains that go 300 miles and hour and we’re chugging along with Amtrak and Acela and we’re still flying around short distances. First you, Mr. Mayor. You’re on the Amtrak route. Why can’t this federal government use the power of the, the workforce we have out there, put ‘em all to work and build a train system in this country or fast rail so we can – and this sounds so pathetic – catch up to Europe and Japan! Why don’t we do that? Catch up to the other major countries?”
“I hate to sound like a lefty” Matthews said “But the fact is we’re spending all this money on our defense programs – McDonnell-Douglas, Boeing…Why can’t we do what other major powers do? Build a modern society. Instead of fighting all the wars supposedly for everybody else?”
At this point Granholm, apparently mesmerized by the brilliance of Matthews discourse and perhaps experiencing her own leg tingle, exclaimed to Matthews “You should run for office!”
Chris Matthews doesn’t want to sound like a lefty? Sorry, Chris, but that train already left the station.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19.
We’d say that this is like watching a slow motion train wreck, but the motion isn’t all that slow anymore.
Rasmussen tells the tale of Barack Obama’s accelerating decline in popularity:
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 23% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19.
Today is the second straight day that Obama’s Approval Index rating has fallen to a new low. Prior to the past two days, the Approval Index had never fallen below -15 during Obama’s time in office.
The 23% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Just 41% of Democrats Strongly Approve while 69% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 21% Strongly Approve and 49% Strongly Disapprove.
Don’t look now,but the guy who told us he was The One is now The Minus Nineteen.
